Actually, we can't avoid that. The 4-komas in the manga directly translated into an anime would spell being too episodic.

It worked for the first six episodes without adding nervous breakdowns.

There is always K-ON! After ~Mugi Days~ which the girls have all graduated, and goes through their lives.

The time approaches. Let us how we get some really good songs for the OP and ED, and then a return to just "regular pattern" that is K-On.

11 (The one where Ritsu's jealous of Mio and that other girl) was my favorite episode of K-On, actually.

And yeah, Amy, it starts April 7th.

I just hope for the second season to be great.

Not to mention, I hope they have new songs that will let me get up of my feet.

I hope there are more rock references(I just loved when they showed Jimmy Page and Robert Plant) and more music

I also hope for better music, I liked the intro and outros of the songs but the middle just didn't stick it to me

But don't listen to me i'm a Beck fanboy

For some strange reason, I'm suddenly finding several releases of the new K-On 2nd season in various places despite not seeing any raws yet for it. I wonder why...

The first commercial spot for season 2 does in fact end with an extended close up shot of Tea & Cake.

Anyway I like to imagine that in some bizzaro universe K-On did in fact get Soramimi Cake as it's opener and Azumanga Daioh got Fluffy time or whatever the heck the K-On opener was called. This season is the chance to make it right though and I strongly encourage Kyoani to cough up the cash and license the song from J.C Staff in order to once and for all set the order of the moe blob slice of cake anime universe straight.

Cake for you! tabetene konya wa
Tea for you! seiza no ochakai

I mean we could have an opener that actually describes the content of a show perfectly for a change.

Man, I've been obsessed listening to the Beatles song after i've playing the Beatles Rock Band on my Xbox 360 all day to me.
I think your going to have to dig a lot deeper than that to find a valid comparison to a talent like The Beatles. Just saying.....

Also I simply cannot see K-On doing or portraying anything truly inspired by Western music if for the cost the royalties would leave the sponsors with alone. Not only that, but classic rock doesn't fit into K-On's M.O which is to portray a music club full of cutesy girls, at least one of whom will appeal to at least one of the popular moe otaku demographics and push merchandise towards them. John Lennon is not going to sell merchandise to K-On's demographic, but Azuya in cat ears sure as hell will and I can guarantee you that nobody watching this show in Japan cares one bit about classic rock or anything approaching globally successful music groups....even if the show did drop a few important names in the first season like Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page.

Go watch Beck japanese version, they do a cover version around the last episodes I think it starts episode 23

But only if you're one of the people who can tolerate engrish (like me)

Living proof of that, one of the best guitarists and bass players are these 2 guys, and its at Budokan! :P

They're really amazing at what they do and they really inspire me technically, not musically

IMO who'd you rather hear on bass Billy Sheehan or Victor Wooten?

or on guitar Paul Gilbert or Jimmy Page/Brian May/Hendrix/even Steve Vai? well thats just my opinion

Anyways back on topic hopefully theres more of Azunyans awesome guitar solos and hopefully new instruments(and not wrongfully labled, seriously a Fender Les paul, never heard of them)

and no I haven't read the manga

Noooo! seriously and they seriously think they can make it to Budokan

Oh well they can probably go and form a pop rock sell out band, they have looks and costumes
seems possible for me

Are there anymore rock references in the manga?

I think there are some on their Senior field trip and their third year summer activity (not the one at the beach).

Of course the end of High School might not be the end for "After School Tea Time". There is always university.

The only thing that could top more K-On is another season of Lucky Star. :3

...in my opinion at least...
