Maybe she really did see a golden thread? It's not that weird. It's not like she said she saw a giant pink elephant wearing a tutu.

So you think the culprit just shoved a golden thread through a keyhole or something?

A keyhole that didn't exist, since all the doors in the mansion have modern tumbler locks?

If you're gonna stop thinking there, you'll never solve Umineko.
There's millions of ways for Kyrie to have seen a golden thread, I'm just saying that I don't like the idea of her lying about it to Battler when held at gunpoint. It's not like Kyrie.

Spoiler for ways to see a golden thead coming out of a door:

Well actually...the golden thread may have been actually real since it could have very been well used in a locked room trick (Assuming that she was in a room that was used in that trick).

There could be multiple methods, but this was the one they used in an episode of Case Closed:

Go to 6:00 for just the explanation.

I might have a slight idea for the Siestas and what they might represent.

I put them in spoiler tags for length.
Spoiler for Siestas:

EDIT:

Oh yeah, and I am sort of trying to expand on this post.

Maybe there will be a flashback of Rosa doing something to atone for that sin. Maybe buying a new rabbit, but once maria got it she didn't acknowledge it as part of the rabbits band. So even though she accepted it as an apology, it didn't bring the rabbit back to life.

Spoiler for rambling what if kinda crap:

Spoiler for 00's tip, probably doesn't need a spoiler tag:

Spoiler for qouted tips from the siestas:
We do agree that the Siestas are personifying something.

Spoiler for Siesta 45:

So did anyone ever translate the tip, Arigato For 556?

Also golden thread could be something as common as spider webs with light shined on it. lol

Spoiler for Siestas:
The Siestas most likely represent bullets that can be loaded into a Winchester, along with being Maria's rabbit figures. Rosa doesn't seem to fit 45 too well either and 00 is considered to be very composed, as oppose to Natsuhi, who always overreacts.

As for Asumu being Siesta 556 - we don't know for starters if she was 'loved by all', we only know Battler cared about her for sure. According to the series she was relatively middle class and was nowhere near the wealth of the Ushiromiya family, not to mention her marriage to Rudolf is considered to be forced due to her sudden pregnancy.

Maybe it was a flashlight, or a passing bullet. It was definetly night, and thunderous. It could be coincedence that thunder and a flashlight was on through the keyhole. Kyrie would also be very traumatic, since she's in a dangerous situation. Either way, the Siestas' golden arrows would definetely just be bullets, no? Except bullets don't curve...

Or Kyrie was lying. That seems like the most simplest solution.

I just wonder how far we should take this magical counterpart thing. Is Kumasawa aware that she has a witch double in the magical world? Judging from Genji and Ronove's interaction in Episode 3.

It's more than just the thread through the keyhole. If I'm reading right, she explains everything on the island that she saw. Meaning all the fantasy scenes. The anime didn't mention it, but I think the VN has.

Images are the parts of the conversation where Kyrie tells Battler about the magic (excluding the golden thread trying to kill her).
Spoiler for EP4, Image heavy:

Hmm... isn't it also possible that Kyrie was being TOLD to say all this as a script or being threatened? Similar to Jessica's death possibly. This would explain her being cut off when she's done her role (killed by culprit), or she might have run off!

Can't have run off. She was found dead at the telephone. (So it's possible she ran off, then ran back, I guess.)

Almost definitely lying. Reading from a script is probable. I'd also like to think that the end was a suicide, and Battler's "You are a mother to me!" line sent her over the edge from guilt, but that's just a pet theory.
