The QUALITY in this episode was just amazing. It's a word I usually hate using, but had to this episode.

I haven't such blatant QUALITY in a while. Vorona vs Anri was almost a slide-show. And those close-ups

Animation quality aside, the content was good. I enjoyed Vorona's backstory. Funniest line of the week: "Izaya-san is a good person".

I usually try to ignore the quality of an episode, but this episode was pretty bad. I wouldn't mind if they tried to make the quality consistently BAD, but after being spoiled by the previous episodes above average animation, it is hard get past this shoddy episode.

As expected of someone from this show Vorona had one twisted but enjoyable back story. This episode really showed that Vorona and Sloan are out of their element while in Ikebukruo.

Also Mikado while it's true that you do have quite a few allies Izaya is not one of them. Especially not one you should be placing all this trust in.

Argh! The damned QUALITY throughout in this episode.

-That aside, this did great for adding context to Vorona's character and fleshing out her relationship to Simon, Denis and Egor. Through they change how Drakon and Lingern's conversation played out little a bit and as well as some minor stuff in Vorona's past, but it was handled well.

-And episode ended right where I thought would with Aoba's visit. I wonder how many well take notice that Izaya isn't in his office.

-Weird how the anime made it kinda of look like Vorona kinda of pushed out of the room where in the novel she back-flipped to avoid Anri's slash despite being completely perturbed at what was happening....

She has the same profession, but Ruri is more like Chane in personality. Vorona doesn't have the extreme devotion to her father like Chane does either. Just the opposite it actually.

Unfortunately Mikado was mostly in dark what happened at the end of last season as well as Kida's past and relationship with Izaya during the Blue Square and Yellow Scarves war. If talk was coming form anyone, but Izaya you would probably think they weren't bad person either.

While the cat is away the mice will play. Izaya wants to manipulate Mikado but for him to do that he'll need to distract the monsters. Hence Akane, Vorona and Sloan.

But he isn't the only one who wants Mikado as a pawn. No wonder Aoba wants to do something about Izaya.

Aoba: Me too, for the evulz!

Me: This one and the other idiot are poking the horns nest, don't they?

It look like to me that Mikado trusting Izaya will backfire really bad for him, I'm guessing next episode Aoba will try to do the same too.
Interesting to know about Vorona's backstory, I really like it.

The last three episodes were outsourced to EMT Squared (an anagram, I assume), a new studio started by a producer who worked for TMS Entertainment.

If there's a significant labour shortage in the industry, I'd imagine that we'll see several of these quality lapses, even if the producing staff are well connected.

Why are you people putting "quality" in all caps? Is that the hip thing you young'ins do these days?

Watched Episodes 6 and 7 and there's some questions I have to ask:

• Was the old guy that's related to the idol company and the yakuza head always in a bind since the first season? And was the old guy related to the one whose disappearance is connected to Ruri?
• Is there some truth behind Izaya's concern about Kida "still being friends" with Mikado? Or is Kida still angry that he wasn't able to get Anri?
• Is Simon's real name Samya as mentioned in Episode 7?
• What is the different writings of "tanoshikatta" in the Vorona flashback?

With that said, holy shit, I really hope that the next few episodes don't get this bad animation-wise.

Mikado is such a tool =0\. In a show with either creative and/or interesting personalities, his normalness is just a bland eyesore. The whole thing with trusting Izaya so much is kinda the final kink in the armor, if you will. I'll admit, I didn't have much expectations of him until that halfway mark in the 1st season; the way he brought everything together was really unexpected and kind of exciting, but aside from that, he's just.... boring. Easily manipulated, easy to read, has no real power... I can't stand to watch him anymore >=02.

Aside from that, the Varona backstory was pretty good. I knew Simon was strong(not many can say they landed a blow on Izaya or equal Shizuo in strength), but I didn't know him and that old man were THAT good. No wonder she's so good. Too bad Anri is better =03. It'll be interesting to see how Varona(and Sloan) deal with Shizuo when(if) the time comes.

Take note what Simon said about the two Ivans in Mikado.
There's the nice guy Mikado, and there's the Mikado who uses nice guys.

Izaya better be careful, because Mikado has just tagged him as a "nice guy".

-Yes
-Not quite, the reason why Kida won't see Mikado and Anri for time being is because he feels huge a sense of guilt for what happened last season on top not completely recovering from having abandoned Saki to the Blue Squares out of fear for his own life.
-Yep

I think you're being a bit ridiculous here for several reasons. First, Izaya can manipulate Mikado right now to an extent because he does not know what happened with Kida and he doesn't have convenient sword that can read other peoples memories. Second, Izaya hasn't said anything suspicious to him. We the audience know he up to no good and he's probably trying push him into something with the Dollars because we are privy to almost everything in the show, but the characters aren't. Third, Mikado said himself, up until the phone he always assumed Izaya was somewhat shady person it's not unnaturally for him have second thoughts about him after that conversation. It's not time it is the first time Izaya has offered him advice or helped out.

If that was referring to Mikado, then it'll certainly be a nice twist to see him reverse a situation into his favor, but I'll believe it when I see it, since I took "the Mikado who uses nice guys" to refer to Aoba.

Nah, I'm not ridiculous. You make it sound like I'm saying Mikado should be L-incarnate and see through everything and manipulate everyone. I'm not(though that would be nice to watch =03). I'm merely pointing out why I am not liking his character. For me, what the characters think or know in the show is irrelevant; it's BECAUSE I know many pieces of the puzzle as a viewer that I can say such a thing. Those are the facts, and it is those facts that make me detest his character.
