From some of the novel material, we find something interesting with Celty. (not plot-critical)
Specifically, Ceity has a personal aversion against running red traffic lights. Despite being a supernatural fairy on an undead horse, Celty stops at a red light like any other motorist. It's a personal choice she made. Her excuse for riding a bike with no headlights and numberplate? That's a horse.

This is why Celty didn't want to fight the traffic cops. She could beat them up if she choose to, but Celty sees them as the arms of the Law.

And she just can't bring herself to do it. To "be a villain".

My personal interpretation is that Celty is well aware of a Dullahan's mythological reputation. She might well be trying to fight against the stereotype, and as such couldn't cross her own moral line.

It's really a shame that the anime moved its focus towards the boring trio in the second half and put Celty's quest on hold, I had really wanted her to meet the head.

I don't know but Celty 's voice is very charming somehow ....

I mean.... i have just rewatched Bakemonogatari, and the thought of an "air head" Kanbaru is amusing enough. But Celty as a character is also great, so it's a double plus

I totally agree

Well, I'm not satisfied with how the anime ended, but I'll be reading the light novel...just can't get enough of Celty.

Ah, is it just me or anything (demons, ghosts, creatures of legend) can be converted into an anime female?

Anyhow, her helmet is awesome. I also find the way she types on the cell phone to communicate to be funny. The anime did a great job of portraying her sense of emptiness which is of course completely understandable-- I hope she'll get her head back eventually.

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU. i was really dissapointed at that aspect. i was under the assumption for the first half of the series that Celty would be the main character in the show.. but instead she (well her head) is the catalyst just to move the plot along. it wouldve been a great anime =S.. but its alrite.

hmmm...i'm a little disappointed that she fell for shinra. that little pervert! lol

liked her as the enigmatic black rider with the neko helmet. i didn't care too much about her "human" side. would have preferred if she wasn't so attached to shinra and she became more dedicated in finding her head.
