One thing I'm wondering about is the grandfather. Going beyond the simple question as to whether he's a zombie too, I wonder if perhaps he is much older than we think. If he is being kept alive by hydrangea, he might easily be (say) 100 years older than he appears. Firstly, it would seem he is the author of the manuscript, but I get the impression that this is a very old document. Secondly he keeps talking about "Sada", but apparently his late wife was actually called Kiyo... perhaps he is talking about a wife or lover from a previous life?

Finally I am also intrigued by the significance of the hydrangea being the Sanka family emblem, perhaps this is not a coincidence. Could the whole story be packed with zombies I wonder... The family name Sanka (散華) actually refers to flowers: the kanji spelling of Sanka is also the word sanke, which has the same connotations as the better known chiru (散る), ie. falling flowers as a metaphor for a noble death.
So you think Rea's family is involved with zombies too? I think it's just a play on words or a metaphor for a noble death like you said.

And thanks for explaining that. It's a good piece of info that is lost in translation.

I am SO gonna be disappointed if Furu and Rea are actually related because Furu's "grandfather" was Rea's great^6-grandfather =0\.

Another great chapter. Rea is so friggin cute, it's a crime. The bunny suit and then the nurse outfit. <3

Not included with the chapter release. If I remember, I'll look into it tonight.

I think this is it. Found it on the author's website. It'd be nice if you could find an actual scan, without those ugly censor bars... I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I realized I totally forgot to read the side text on the title page. It looks like Sankarea may become weekly, huh...?

Good find there. That's a nice picture too. I wonder who'd they get to voice her if they made an anime out of this. That'd be a tough one.

I don't know if it'll be a weekly honestly. I think there is just going to be a special chapter or something. I hope it stays monthly though. Monthly manga plots are almost always better.

Was it stated before that he was her fiance? Or did she just come up with it out of no where. I can't recall.

It's never stated before, either she just came up with it (likely) or it's a fact that hasn't been introduced yet.

Personally I wasn't impressed by the arc's conclusion -- that father didn't feel at all like he was just being a bit overprotective -- but I have to agree with everyone else that those maids really got their priorities straight.

The end wasn't that impressive, but I think Rea's actions made her father rethink things. If she didn't stand up for Chihiro like she did, I bet the father would have retreated only to return later on.

I like the zombie genre, but romance...I might pass this.

But will look at the first few chapters.

The romance isn't that heavy, at least not yet. It's really good, try it. You might like the art too.

Awesome! Thanks a lot (I can't give you any cookies...). It's a nice pic but there are a few things bothering me, like her left hand, or the size of her head.

No problem, it's cool.

Maybe it's the perspective?

I also thought the father letting Rea go so easily wasn't very believable, however two thoughts occur to me: (a) maybe he realised Furuya was the only person who could keep Rea "alive", (b) maybe it was just a front, and he secretly means to get Rea back once he knows more about what is going on with her. Or (c) he's not a necrophiliac and doesn't fancy her any more.

Hey, did anyone used to read the comic strip Sexy Losers? That had an ongoing story about a guy who only fancies dead girls, he ended up with a girl who had committed suicide, a bit like Rea really, except that she stayed dead (just as well considering she hated him when she was alive...).
