I been a fan of the DEPAPEPE and I so happy they are arranging the music for this show. Their music is a perfect fit for this type of show.

ARGHHHHH ... heh. Finally got to sit down and watch this first episode.

First impression "ARIA song opener feel" ... good, good.

Second impression: someone took Azumanga and blended it in my Kamichu! ... this is not a bad thing, nope.

What a splendiferous little town. They're trying to get people to move back to the smaller towns -- this would be AAA propaganda supporting that .

Yeah, I'm probably going to be seriously not getting enough Tamayura at their length and release rate. argh....

edit: I cannot, for the life of me, see where someone would make a connection between K-On! and this. Utterly different atmosphere, setting, etc. Its almost like saying "oh, yet another series with human beings in it".... o.O

random: loved the okonomiyaki chef, been a while since I've made it.

sigh... this probably shows what a void the ending of ARIA and Sketchbook left in my mental space.

On April 26 a new project called "Wish Angel" was announced:

Junichi Sato: Director
Hajime Watanabe: Character Artist/Designer
Reiko Yoshida: Writer
Fumitoshi Oizaki: Designer

It had a 15 year old girl named Tsubasa and a big furry cat named Nekotenshi.

I never heard any more about it. Could this be what became of that?

Lol. Guilty. Probably has to do with the fact that I liked all of Working, but only the four episodes or so of Hidamari that I could get through. Not enough there there, for me to keep watching, nice as it was. Or perhaps I just didn't know how to open the door to the kind of deep enjoyment many people felt. Maybe this helps explain why I am somewhat less enthusiastic about Tamayura than many people here. Still eager to see ep2, however. It should show up from a TV preview broadcast on AT-X on Sunday night at 1am.

By the way, if you're interested in Taketatsu Ayana, the seiyuu who plays Fuu-chan, I've made her my seiyuu of the coming season (since she will be in eight shows!) and have done a big biographical blog post, with photos and videos.

Episode 2 puts me in the opinion that if it doesn't put a bit of warmth in your heart, then ice cold water must flow in your veins. It's a rather... simple yet elegant portrayal of the "meeting your idol" bit to really help put things into perspective as to what you really want to be in life. Potte's love for photography is beyond argument at this point, but at her age it's still quite natural to ask a lot of questions on what you really want, even if you do have your heart set on something. The ticket bit, of not having a destination written on it might be one of the oldest cliched symbolism in use, but it's still an effective one after all these years.

Shihono is definitely what Potte would become when she gets older, and their similarities are far too obvious to be considered subtle.

Second half of this episode easily belongs in Aria. Just for the two reasons being Hazuki Erino and the warm and fuzzy dialogue.

Beautiful episode.

That was so fuwa fuwa my heart is melting. It was very nice to hear Hazuki Erino again... or so I would like to say. I have to confess I didn't recognize her voice, I had no idea she had such range. Why doesn't she get more role?

I loved Riho and Fuu's meeting. It was also nice to learn a bit more about the other main characters. So Maon wants to play the ocarina, huh... I think it might be the first time I see an ocarina featured in an anime.

Hmmmm, much faster release than I thought... had it in my head these were once a month or worse. Happy... but I'll patiently wait for a sub.

So THAT'S what that seashell-shaped flute is called! I always thought it was some kind of Victorian-style flute instrument after seeing it in an episode of the anime for Little Princess Sara (yes, there's another anime in which the ocarina is played in, and Little Princess Sara is that anime).

The instrument goes by many names (having been independently invented in several cultures) but yeah, ocarina-> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocarina

Chinese call theirs a xun, Germans have a variation called a gemshorn ... also zozulka, svystun, and a few dozen other names. Oddly, I don't think there's a native Japanese name for it... at least that I've found.

I'm never quite sure what to say about shows like this... it definitely gave me the warm and fuzzies but I don't have much to comment on. ^^;; Relaxing watch to end the day, for sure.

Hazuki Erino was terrific. Not really knowing her work, I didn't recognize her voice, but I went straight to the end credits to find out who that was.
