From what I hear, it's Sony bullshitting moreso than it's Aaron McGruder. Of course, McGruder has been known to be a hot-head, so it may be both combined.

After watching the fantastic preview (which if i ain't ANIME, I don't know what is...It's certainly not western animation or imitation), it seems like this season is gonna be so over-the-top controversial that it will have to end...Damn, America needs Uncle Ruckus...
It's Korean, would that be anime or something else?

Edit: Well, I guess Korean animation is consider anime(in a Western sense).

Even so, I view it as Western animation, since it aimed that demographic and created/produced by a Black guy from Chicago. Also, shows like The Animaniacs and Tiny Toons had episodes that were animated in Japan and most of The Simpsons is animated in South Korea. It's nothing new.

If a studio comprised of Asian descent illustrators (not in America or in co-op with an American studio) are drawing the material, I consider that anime...But that aside, it LOOKS like anime...The detail and fluidity of movement suggests it...

As for the rest, I hope it's just hype cause Boondocks is that damn funny...It has endless content to mock...

Information on the first three episodes of Season three of the Boondocks is out. From the official Bootleg Info site. Here is said info.

"It's A Black President, Huey Freeman" - A German Documentary follows the Freeman family during the election of the country's first black president.

"The Red Ball" - Kickball legend Huey Freeman returns after a self-imposed exile from the game.

"Bitches To Rags" - When his new album tanks, Thugnificent is faced with the horror of getting a real job.

Just FYI, there's a ton of anime studios in Korea, if you paid attention to the credits of a lot of anime the animation teams are mostly Korean.

Anyway, woot! it's been a real long time since I've seen the Boondocks. Hopefully the 3rd season boxset comes out soon.

Uncle Ruckus throwing darts at a news clipping of Obama. That's all I've got to say.

Really solid first episode, and I'm surprised McGruder got Bill Maher to actually voice himself.

It was a good episode, but, much like most of the second season; it was too on the nose. The best episodes of Boondocks are the episodes not dealing with any specific political agenda: just the boys being boys (albeit extreme exaggerations) and Grandpa being Grandpa.

That being said, while I generally dislike the lawyer/next door neighbor family (the little girl is pretty moe, though), I did like the criticism of the wife's affection for Obama, and the critique of the husband as being a less intelligent, less attractive, and less powerful version of Obama.

edit: it's not that I dislike the idea of Tom and Sarah Dubois (I looked up their names ), there is enough social commentary imbued in the couple to write multiple books. Rather, I've always found their characterization to be too annoying to actually like them (even if that is probably what the creator intended), which in turn makes them hard to sympathize with...

Who cares about Maher when McGruder got fucking Werner Herzog (playing himself) to be the documentarian. That was fucking cool.
