Dark Action Manga

I'm looking for a dark manga with lots of blood and gore, and magic/tactics. So far Im reading D.Gray-Man and Soul Eater but if anyone could suggest anything I would appreciate it!

Seconding Hellsing. All the blood and gore is so totally worth it
Also, Until Death Do Us Part is great. It's about a blind swordsman kicking butt. There's a good amount of very enjoyable gore.

Have you read Fullmetal Alchemist? If not, do so now.

Berserk is the best.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure series might be worth a look. While it's not as dark as Berserk or Hellsing, it has a higher than average body count for a shonen manga, and even main heroes are not exempt from being killed. The series is not lacking in gore either: there's plenty of mutilation, body horror, animal cruelty, and civilian casualties.

The fight scenes are very creative with a heavy emphasis on tactics, especially from Part 3 (which introduces Stands) onwards. Fights usually play out like this: the heroes are attacked by a villain with a strange power, the heroes try to figure out how the power works and how to counter it, the villain realizes the heroes have figured out his/her power and counterattacks, and the fights go back and forth until the heroes utilize a ballsy and immensely clever strategy to win.

The series is divided into multiple distinct story arcs. As of now, there are seven. Since the story arcs focus on different characters and have different plots, it's not necessary to read the series in order, so if you want to jump around, you can do so. Though unfortunately, part 4's translation isn't very good, but the story and action scenes are still comprehensible though.

The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer: dark, with magic and lots of tactics, but little/no gore.
Zetman: dark, enough gore to throw up a few times, no magic, few tactics.
Record of a fallen vampire: dark, tactics/magic, some gore.
Until Death do us Part: dark, tons of gore, tactics.
