For some reason, Nodame Cantabile never gets recommended in threads like this. Perhaps it's because the romance moves slowly, and there's a lot more going on than just the relationship between Nodame and Chiaki. Still it's a great story.

I'm also surprised no one's mentioned Cross Game yet.

Well since Sensei has opened the floodgates to potential barrage of suggestions for this series, even if the series does not really conform with the norms of the genre, I might as well proudly second Cross Game.

Would like to confirm just in case, the ending doesn't becoming as ****ed up like NICE BOAT right?

I've not watched School Days nor have any desire to do so. It's been quite a while since I've watched Ai, but I recall the ending being "bittersweet."

Spice and Wolf is one of, if not my favourite series and has a romantic undercurrent so I'll add that to the list if you fancy something different.

Ai Yori Aoshi and Sequels: Classic romance comedy. Not too ecchi but eh, to each his own.
Zero no Tsukaima and Sequels: Probably more comedy than romance or anything else but its pretty funny.
Myself; Yourself: More on the serious end of the genre.
Kimikiss pure rouge: I think you'll like this one the most. Haha.

Ok just watched Seitokai no Ichizon ,but i dont get it how is it romance?Ive seen Clannad and SchoolDays but they're not on my list for some reason and im gonna check out Bokura ga Ita and School Rumble next.Thank you all for the anime so far.

I will be the third to suggest True Tears. It is a very well done series and is a great romance. School Days is also a good pick the ending was quite unexpected for me.
