None of them remotely look like anyone from said countries.

Then again, they never do, and we don't really care. I guess.

Well, since we are watching anime(fiction), not documentary show, I think we should let go of minor details... As long as the heroines aren't ugly, that is.

Hm? I have no problems with Japan, France and Germany (sans eyepatch

And while I have no idea why Japanese seem to think that folks from England are blonde (a very rare hair color there), I can live with that.

I actually do find it funny that Germans are usually portrayed as masculine, excessively serious, gruff, or a combination of any of the above and their similarities.

I prefer China, even though she's not like any Chinese sweetie I've ever seen. Probably my genes talking.

Actually, my only recollection of a British immigrant friend/classmate during my elementary school years was blonde. So yeah, it never occurred to me that they could be rare, either.

You should visit Vancouver or Los Angeles... It will open your eyes... Although, I heard Macao wasn't too bad either.

Nice sig, but I believe it should've spelled 'Houki'. And man, seeing the show's growing popularity I foresee this will get it's own sub-forum in less than 2 weeks.

Hm... they are all cute in a way. Who to pick?

Ah well... the french girl is pretty cute and we have a eyepatched hotty that speaks my mother tongue.

So Charlotte and Laura it is.

Look at it that way... this surrender meme came up during France's resistance to join the Iraq war, and lord knows that they were vindicated by how things turned out.

And I have a hard time seeing Laura as "masculine" - eyepatch or not. I'd say that her hotness level is way way up

Shiroth: Yes, but the "typical English" girl would hardly be selected light blonde, wouldn't you agree? Brown/brunette is much more typical. Heck, pick red at least.

Just heard that I need to fly to Rain City Central (London) from tuesday to thursday *sigh*. Will recheck how many light blondes I'll pass by.

On the other hand, France could potentially be represented by one of the better heroines. She certainly sounds interesting according to Wikipedia. Having Hanazawa Kana as the VA doesn't hurt either.

French bashing aside, I believe Japanese viewing female Brits or European mostly as blondes has to do with stereotypes and their unrequited love for anything europe, which they view as exotic. Just try to have the author living in the UK more than a year and we'd see him portray the females with more diverse hair colors and drinks alcohol just as much as the men. Lol j/k..
