Hmm, I don't see anything wrong with an all-female cast as long as the premise interests me. At least they used to add a guy or two in the cast, even if they weren't the best possible. Nowadays all-female casts are all about singing idol careers or "cute girls doing everyday stuff".

I meant the yuri... the speculative yuri with no actual proof... just fandom....

I don't know, man. There's one girl in Love Live! that's more into squeezing breasts than what even some straight men are.

It's hard for me to see her as anything except lesbian, or at least bi-sexual.

Did somebody say yuri? Because I think I just heard somebody say yuri.

Yuri baiting is a fantastic way to get me to watch an anime and enjoy it while at the same pissing me off to no end because there's usually no outright confession. And I'm not talking about using it for comedic purposes either...

There's a lot of slight yuri subtext in Love Live!, but no real consistent pairing. Nothing like Saki/Nodoka in Saki, say.

No! Don't taint them...!

I seen a lot of "breast groper" in anime that aren't lesbians... It's a form of communication, same as "hitting one's ass."

Spoiler for Love Live Character Analysis:

In none yuri anime, this is the purpose of those yuri undertones....

Can anything can be slight when there is a lot?

Canonical romance and romance anime are not mutually inclusive.

Depends on the imagination of the viewers. As long that it's not mark yuri, it isn't yuri.. slight is pretty acceptable but again it's just fan service with no actual proof, same goes in Amagami and Clannad .....unlike in Vivid Red... it's rampant...

Peace keep the girls pure!

And it's only a problem when it's rampant with no confession or not officiated.

I'll specify this even more from my last post: Canonical romance and romance anime are not mutually inclusive. It doesn't take a yuri series to have a canonical yuri couple. Marketing strategy or not it's incredibly annoying.

I agree with the marketing thing.. since most men are so turned on with two girls.. you know... The only yuri I ever watched are Simoun and hentai.... TV series? Never!

Same goes on men?

As long as we are not talking about a pure yuri themed anime or fan service.... that would be a turn off.. well, its just me...

I find the idea of pandering to shippers without actually making canon couples a little lame. But I think I already mentioned something like that.

"Hate" is probably too strong a word for it, but there seems to be a new trend in anime that I'm starting to dislike.

The way I'd describe it is "Teasing in all directions".

In other words, you have an all-girls cast, and they lightly tease yuri affection/subtext in all directions. Now, I'll usually take this over nothing at all, but I find it much less satisfying than the Saki approach where they heavily tease at specific pairs of girls.

For all the yuri teasing in Love Live!, I have little idea who to ship there. It's just chaotic, and all over the place. VRO is almost on the same level, though probably a little bit closer to that Saki model I prefer.

Hentai artists gaining influence and causing brain drains over here. The opposite here is amateur artists who believe they don't have to draw certain subjects in an act of self censorship.
