I try to vary up my use of vigors, but the lack of variation as such does seem to cause problems. I had mostly been using Shock Jockey, though now that I've gotten farther in-game, I'm using other combinations, like Undertow + fully upgraded Devil's Touch.

After a few delays due to anime catch-ups, I have finally completed BioShock Infinite.

My head hurts.

Shock Jockey is one of my top-favourite Vigors, not because it is deadly effective, but because it is quite possibly... one of the most sadistic Vigor-powers in the game. Enclosed area with enemies funnelling in? Shock Jockey traps!

"Arrggghhh!"
"Aiiieeee!!"
"Arrr.. noooo!"
"AHHHHHH!!! AAAAAHHHH!"

There was one particular section where I managed to chain continuous screaming for nearly five minutes. Elizabeth helped out by refuelling me with more salts. Oh yeah... and summoning in some Telsa Coils for more electrifying screaming.

One of my most memorable use of Devil's Kiss was in the initial encounter with the "Crow Elite". After seeing him disappear into the courtyard, I was like, "Oo, oo! Boss fight!" Drawing upon previous game experiences such as Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I began mining the courtyard with Devil's Kiss traps and this was basically how the fight went...

Crow Elite spawns directly a Devil's Kiss trap.
"AHHHH!!!! I'll get you! I'll get you!"
*while burning, steps on a second trap*
"ARRGGGHHHH!!!!"
*dissolves into a pile of ashes*

Me(not a shot fired yet): "Well, that was pretty anti-climatic; but dayum if it wasn't hilarious as heck"

I feel like I'm the only person whose entire strategy focused on bucking bronco. It felt like complete hax. I've knock everyone in a cone up in the air, and pick them off one by one. With every death, the effect would chain to anyone who wasn't already floating harmlessly in the air. I rarely had more than one dude at a time on the ground long enough to shoot at me.

The only place this strategy failed was when there were enemies on multiple vertical levels, and in those cases, there was always a skyline to exploit. I made full use of those attacks, especially since I had two pieces of gear that would send out an AoE every time I landed off of the line: The first stunned everyone, and the second set them on fire. I set a lot of people on fire. Ah... good times.

Bronco and undertow is also a useful combination when your out doors as you can lift enemies up in the air then blast them off the edge of the level with undertow.

I pretty much just used Shock Jockey and Possession, since those seemed like the only ways of giving pause to the tougher enemies. The random goons I just shot in the head. Maybe I'll play the game again some time on a lower difficulty, just so I have room for screwing around more.

Spoiler for My review of this game by the way:

Shock Jockey and Possession for me, Shock Jockey made for easier headshots, although I prefered Murder of Crows for the lolfactor. Bronco was pretty fun though, but felt kinda cheap with the upgrades.

The Bronco/Undertow idea that was mentioned doesn't seem fairly viable in an economic aspect once you're able to get Undertow, if you're playing a harder difficulty like 1999 Mode. You ARE gonna need the money and upgrades you can get off enemies, and if you're knocking them all off ledges...

Finally finished Bioshock, and I have to say, I'm loving the Luteces.

Has anyone tried this?

Or perhaps a certain metahuman played by Ian McKellen. But since you went there, consider the Murder of Crows/Devil's Kiss combo... with a graphic tweak that makes the latter's flames black...

Played through it today, loved the conclusion.
Spoiler for Bioshock Ending:

All in all well spent money, absolutely beautiful game, Ken Levine proves to be a genius once again and I'm well satisfied and it kinda lived up to my hype.

Elizabeth was great, "...I'd totally touch her face..."

Just finished the game. Really like the atmosphere and graphics. Gameplay isnt too terrible either.

Favorite weapon has got to be the carbine: it has an extremely high potential damage output (very useful vs patriots), pretty much limited only by ammo. Can be used to snipe with its decent accuracy as well but doesn't run out of ammo as easily as a machine gun.

In my original playthrough on hard I relied heavily on crow+devil's kiss trap. Great for room clearance. I started to use the other vigors more often in 1999 mode. Return to sender for example is amazing for running from cover to cover or just to give myself the opportunity to return fire when facing an overwhelming amount of enemies (ie: vs Siren... I just put up my Return to Sender shield and snipe away at the Siren).

Spoiler for Story and on ending:
