Nah, this pretty much absolves him. Doing what your producers tell you to do is pretty much required, if you want to make a project.

Excellent.

And now, my next minor task is to redistribute the responsibility for the series ending.

Not QUITE the same thing. Eva is "Jo-Ha-Kyu": Intro, Conflict, Swiftness. It's generally used in Noh and Kabuki plays.

Kawamori is referring to the corresponding four-part structure, "Ki-Sho-Ten-Ketsu": Intro-Development-Twist-Resolution. It was used mostly for four-line Chinese poetry, but was also adapted for Japanese arts.

Interestingly (maybe), the DYRL novelization is divided into "Ki-Sho-Ten-Ketsu" parts.

To elaborate Kishotenketsu (起承転結):

起 (start) - Your introduction, topic, and background information of the story. How, where, when.

承 (inherit) - Inheriting to follow the story that will lead to to further complications. Additional information is added here. Allegedly, major changes have yet to take place.

転 (twist) - This is where major twist of the story occur, and can include the climax.

結 (conclusion, end) - Bringing the entire story to a conclusion, the end result, the completion. The meeting point to everything. Pretty self-explanatory.

Can also be referred to 起承転合, and definitely so in Chinese.

I've always thought the twist came when Hikaru and Misa were stranded.

I could be wrong, of course.

Yeah, once you figure that part out, everything else is self-explanatory.

It's more like an explanation of a certain aspect of Japanese culture, really, and involves revisiting a certain interview. But I'll probably have to leave it til after Christmas, for work-related reasons...

a masterpiece is a masterpiEce...NUff said..
u dont need to compare it with US movies... it doesnt go...that way..

it is hard to create something original nowdays...esspecially if kawamori still use the name MACROSS...

why? because...macross : love triangle + mecha + music...

THAT IS ORIGINAL....IN 1984...BUT NOW? NOT ANYMORE...(BUT CAN BE UPGRADED...USING NEW CHARA, NEW STORY,NEW SONGS, AND NEW MECHA)

even if he put it this way :

macross : love quantangle.. + chibi mecha + jazz music + SAD STORY + YURI : original? ..

it is like creating a BOM...first it is TNT...and then C4...and then nuclear....all is the same...just A bom...

there is only 1 original macross...and that is DYRL or SDF
frontier.., others...are just an upgrade version of that...it is usless to expect something new and original from it...because it will takke too long...
the fan like me will die waiting......

...if he want to make something new[not new in story, but i mean..a whole new concept...]

...he should create another anime...(i am a bit dissapointed to...that he did not make anything new anymore....such as earth girl arjuna, or escaflowne, etc...)

on the other hand...he create aquarion evol....>.< ...
oh well..i hope it is good...

Ok, let's see if this works... *sighs* just barely too long!

Past midnight here, so Merry Christmas everyone. It was a bit of a rush job, so here's to hoping I've caught all the mistakes!

Spoiler for present for those of you who choose to receive it:
