Rock Lee huh? (underneath the underneath?) [Manga Spoilers]

Now, I'm sure everyone's going to be all giddy that Rock Lee is finally back... but lets get realistic now. The surgery that has a 50 50 chance of suceeding? plus even if it does succeed it has a few months of rehabilitation?

I seriously doubt that Rock Lee could open up the regeneration gate and heal all the surgery given to him enough for h im to walk out and help. Not that this isn't possible, it's just that I'm rather skeptical at this point...

Now yes, this theory could be wrong, but if this was Itachi, would you honestly think that he'd come to Naruto how he'd normally look like to say... hey! I'm going to help out with killing Kimmimaro, then afterwards I'm going to bludgeon you unconscious and take you to the Akatsuki. He'd probably go to Naruto as someone familiar...

While it's interesting that Kishimoto has this thing happen, I honestly didn't expect Rock Lee to be able to stand much less help three or so hours after the surgery...

Very interesting theory, but when did

Itachi see Rock Lee? How did he know that Rock and Naruto were friends, and Naruto would TRUST Rock ? Also, Itachi would have had to be in close contact with Rock to get down his personality + voice + anurisms in order to pull such a stunt off.. You can't just turn into someone and on looks alone, be beliveable. I havn't read this chapter yet, so I don't know if Rock Lee says anything/does anything other then 'shows up' and throws a kick or something..

However, it is odd that a 50/50 chance survival rate, a few days ago? and hes already on his feet, caught up to the Genin and in shape to fight... Then again, remember he *IS* a Genious afterall.. He can open gates that he shouldn't be able to at this point in his life (or so Kakashi makes us beliee during the fight against Gaara/Lee)..

I will have to read this chapter first before I can really give my own opinions, but I don't think this is plausable (i.e. Itachi Henge'd into Lee).. Besides, It's ITACHI were talkin about. He could just show up, use his eye on everyone, and run away with Naruto and nobody would be the wiser.. He doesn't have to stoop down to being 'sneaky' to get what he wants. Nor would I think he would insult himself by doing so. He knows he's stronger then everyone (in theory) and I don't think this tactic would be up his sleeve.

In all honesty, I think it's more of the Surgery was a success, and being Rock Lee, he was able to Quickly rehabilitate himself (with Tsunade's healing help) to get back into shape.. Remember he was training while injured still.. He may not be 100%, but between his work ethic, Tsunade's healing, and some luck he could have been recovered enough to get moving and be semi-useful.

The next couple of chapters are going to be fun =)

As we know, Rock Lee is the only person who knew about the mission, so that gives credibility to the fact that Rock Lee *might* have been able to follow up. But remember the last time we saw Itachi... he was running, and he said that we have time on our side. Someone like Itachi would probably find it hideously easy to disguise himself inside leaf village to keep watch on Naruto. More so to hide in a forest while he pursues Naruto's group. If he kept watch on Naruto long enough, he would know that Rock Lee was the last person who saw Naruto as he went on the mission, so Itachi would know that Naruto would know Lee.

anyways, couldn't hold back so I looked at the raw (has anyone translated it yet?). I doubt its Itachi. Does he even know about lee? maybe he's been watching naruto, but Itachi dressed up as lee seems like a long shot. Why would he even have to hide himself. He's a badass. He could just kick both their asses and take naruto with him.

Lee couldn't have recovered that fast. Plus I think the second gate (heal gate) can't heal a person completely and acts mostly as a painkiller (I think i read this somewhere in the manga). My guess is that he couldn't take the wait anymore and just came on his own. After all Tsunande didn't say that he couldn't fight anymore. She just said it would be really dangerous for him to fight, since he has bone fragments stuck in his spinal cord.

Wow, it would be soo cool if Lee is somehow stronger than before...and than we get a fight just as good as Rock vs Gaara....it would be so good if Lee goes out in a blaze of glory, fighting with the 8 gates open and dying right after killing the steel dude.

well if you remember, tsunade healed sasuke up to perfect condition in like, 5 seconds. The only reason she couldn't do the same for lee was because the bone fragments and such were immbedded into his spine and arms or something like that. I think it stands to reason that if Tsunade healed Sasuke in a matter of seconds, she could do the same to lee AFTER the surgery was completed thus negating any need for a rehabilititation(sp?) time.

So in other words, tsunade just healed him back to normal after the surgery was a success.

That's just my guess.

Sasuke was really only effected with a genjutsu, so all Tsunade really needed to heal was his mind. Same with everyone who was hit with the Mange Sharingan.

The thing I'm thinking is that if Tsunade herself said that the rehabilitation would take months, she would be accurate, since she is one of the best medical nin in konoha right now...

I think they are either going to explain it as the surgery went bad and this is Lee's last outing or they are going to show that Lee surprised everyone witht he fastest healing every seen before....I mean...he did open the gates at Genin level, u never know, they might just say he was that damn determined...

*Sigh* I think its going to end like that too. There's no way lee could do his rehabilitation that quickly. I still think that he hasn't had the surgery yet though, and any excuse for a quick rehab would end up being lame. Kashimoto hasn't used him much since the 2nd part of the chuunin exam, so maybe he wants to give lee a spectacular death. But I hope not. If that ever happened I'm sure I'd be sobbing like crazy and shouting "No...Lee... WHYYYYYYYYYY!!!"

First off, to answer grey, the reason I had this in a seperate thread primarily because the thought never really occurred to me to post it in 209, I was sort of distracted (long story).

When I thought about it, I think it was better this way, since there was/is a possibility for this thread to be derailed into a discussion about Itachi.

I read your theory on what could happen, and I think it's definitely plausible. In fact there are really three different ways I could see this going. There's the whole the surgery failed deal, and using the gates to be able to move again... but if that's the case, then how would anybody allow him to get out of bed, he'd probably still be unconcious anyhow, and if by chance he'd escape every medical nin pursueing him to help before the big final moment, why doesn't he look like he's opened any of the gates?

The second idea is that things were a complete success, in which case he'd somehow manage to escape the recovery room, and all pretenses of realism would have flown out the window.

Or the third idea... This is Itachi... I've already told you about that theory up top.

For all that has been said about Itachi, nobody really knows his motivations. Sure we know he was ordered to grab Naruto. We even know that Sasuke hates his guts for killing off the whole Uchina clan. But do we know that Itachi actually did it? All we saw is Sasuke entering a room with Itachi standing over his familys' dead bodies. He pulled a Mange Sharingan on Sasuke, but we don't really know why... and neither does Sasuke.

well, lee is prolly just using his damn heal gate. although lee would normally need rehab, as long as he is using the heal gate, he is fine... but when he runs low on chakara... lee is gunna be in a world of pain.
oh, and another thing, it doesn't seem unreasonable that lee couldn't catch up, shikamaru and the gang did slow down the sound nins quite a few times. even Oro became impatient for their return.

but what pisses me off is that gai isn't going to kill himself now. i wanted lee to die so that gai would rip out his own entrails. T_T

also i'm wondering, i dont know if it showed antying but i'm guessing not since no1 said anything about it... if lee could use ninjutsu now.. but if he can, i would not like it becuase he hasnt really had time to learn anything... but it would really all depend of how the manga explained everything.
