I find it amusing how they managed to cock everything up with a staggering number of inconsistencies, but at the same time got some small details that seemed very thoughtful:

Spoiler for ending:

The squadmates coming out of the crashed Normandy seem to be random, but if EDI is among those who come out, Joker will hug her, assuming you encouraged their getting together. I'm not sure if this happens only in the Synthesis ending, but when I chose the Control Reapers ending, my squadmates from the final run to the beam came out of the ship (Garrus and Liara).

Yeah I had pretty much the same thing happen. With synthesis those two come out first and in control had Garrus and Tali. I suppose they wanted to show with synthesis how organic and synthetic could totally get along now.

I bought ME3 to finish the trilogy, and for having fun in multiplayer. I... regret my choices even though the journey was awesome. But now I'm done with Bioware and EA.

My LI was Liara, and she was in my party for the run to the beam, along with Garrus.

Which means... she was shot by the giant laser.

The one that almost killed Shepard and left hers and Garrus' lifeless fucking bodies on the blasted dirt.

And then she somehow magically rose from the dead, magically teleported to the Normandy, which also magically teleported to the Charon relay instead of fighting Reapers above Earth.

Which magically crashed on a habitable world.



THIS GAME'S ENDING IS SO MIND-BLOWINGLY, EYE-WATERINGLY TERRIBLE I JUST... I CAN'T...

It's a bug. The game is not saving properly.

whoever you bring with you, will be a charred corpse after Harbinger ASSUMES DIRECT CONTROL over the battlefield.

When Shepard wakes up, you can see their corpses on the ground.

but the game save file doesn't remember that. The shuttle is supposed to show the team mate that you didn't bring.

The same thing happens when you reload the Citadel: The Return mission. It assumes Shepard had no team mates with him and thus no casualties and no team mate corpses on the ground.

I think I decided to not play this game after all. I wanted to play this game for Tali; but after finding out the endings available, I don't see the point of it any more. For me, how it ends matters.

They can easily solve the problem that majority fans find annoying with an DLC. And I wouldn't mind paying it, but I don't think BioWare actually cares, unfortunately...

Actually BioWare cares a wee bit too much... about making money. In fact, I'd actually say it was deliberate on their part otherwise there would be no point to DLCs if they had a satisfactory ending.

Well, luckily this bullshit was already called before the game came out. A few years back I almost liked EA, seemed as if they were becoming more customer friendly...but after that, the bugs with their servers for bfbc2/bf3 have been less than impressive. And now they're shooting themselves in the foot with this thing. It's too bad because I sort of like Mass Effect and SW: TOR, and I wish I could be happy about giving them my money.

I started playing yesterday.
I found a few pros to this game but so many cons that I actually prefer ME2 over this, even 1 was better.
What I liked; the character responses for a few are what I would call more open and relaxed. Of course I checked out Garrus right away and he wasn't written out of character in fact he seemed to be written more open this time whereas last time I thought it was still held back.

The cons of course; first the obvious parts.
Animation bugs; there are too many to list, Turians turning their heads and it passes through their armor mesh, I ended up gliding backwards over out of bound objects int he hospital when meeting someone. Finger animations still look creepy, they already did in ME2. The low quality textures on armor etc. I also went to the club in the Citadel and after seeing a screenshot I was actually shocked they just placed grey meshes like statues in the distance shots without moving and a few casual standing people nearby (and on other locations where they just used low res images; cause you don't see them from any other angle anyway, right Bioware?). I was missing the club on Omega right away, at least there I could drink.
Lastly camel toe, a mistake made by the riggers when weightpainting. It is a process that takes time and precision but if you work for a company and end up making such a silly mistake then shame on you..
I hope there's a massive patch coming up because the above are quite irritating though bearable.
What I found less bearing was the amount of bugs in quests etc. in ME2 the journal was a little vague this time it happened again. I had to talk to some assistant as part of an alliance quest and the guy was not selectable and didn't even show up on my map, not even after milking out all possible talk responses of the giver. Annoying as it is I still do not know how to solve this.
Then the new map functions which someone needs to explain to me.

I was send out to get artifacts on some I don't know what the name was planet.
I had to scan in that galaxy to figure out which planet to scan. Reaper alert goes up but okay I get the tell to scan this tiny moon planet which I do and recover an artifact. My journal then doesn't update as to what I should do with the said artifact, in fact I couldn't find the entry for it in my journal at all.
I walked around the citadel figured out I have to give it to some Salarian sales guy for weapons to give to some general of one of the factions of Aria. But probably because I ordered a kill on the general they do not want the artifact anymore and now I am stuck with it.

I still don't get what to do with the war room and percentages. Nothing really explained that part. Does the percentage increase with the amount of forces you get? To increase the chances?
Do you need to scan random galaxies again like before for assets?
And how long till those pacman ghost reapers leave the pesky galaxy you want to roam in?

It might be that I need to get into this more and get what I have to do, but to scan in order to scan a planet that sounds retarded to me. I already hated the scan for resources bit of ME2 because it wasted so much time. Even walking around int he citadel for an hour to talk to everyone seemed annoying by the end of it to me.

Other than that I do like the feel of the game, it brings back the good old; I want to finish this game because I am having fun-feeling inside of me. But the above listed make me annoyed on some points int he game that I would even consider not playing it.
With ME1 and 2 I could play on for no end but here I don't really feel the urge to game when I have spare time because I know I have to run around doing other people's business in a city first with no action.

I think like someone said, the best way to play the game is to play to the end, and after you select your 'ending', turn off the game and just imagine the ending playing out in your head instead of letting Bioware's ending ruin the series for you.

They left the best ending open enough I think to make what you want of the character's fates. Although I agree the overall selections available are underwhelming.

It supposedly only puts the character and some of his lines into the game. The stuff you have to download is the actual quest having to deal with him.

That's nothing new though, they did that with Zaeed and Kasumi. Difference being Zaeed's bonus power as well as Kasumi's character model and bonus power are not in the original ME2.

So i beat the game, the scene with Anderson and Shepard at that bar was funny, I was suprised garrus came with them. Tali was waitin for me on Rannoch.

Well, not "raging" per se. But It's really bad how they couldn't make an ending that fits within the narrative of everything else up to that point.

Don't know if this was posted earlier on this thread, but there's some interesting tidbits from SomethingAwful forums:

"The Reapers' goal was to find a way to stop the spread of Dark Energy which would eventually consume everything. That's why there was so much foreshadowing about Dark Energy in ME2.

The Reapers as a whole were 'nations' of people who had fused together in the most horrific way possible to help find a way to stop the spread of the Dark Energy. The real reason for the Human Reaper was supposed to be the Reapers saving throw because they had run out of time. Humanity in Mass Effect is supposedly unique because of it's genetic diversity and represented the universe's best chance at stopping Dark Energy's spread.

The original final choice was going to be "Kill the Reapers and put your faith in the races of the galaxy in finding another way to stop the spread with what little time is left" or "Sacrifice humanity, allowing them to be horrifically processed in hopes that the end result will justify the means."

The SomethingAwful guy then goes on to say that all the foreshadowing about dark energy in ME2 (including Haestrom) is never brought up again in ME3.

The Reapers new goal is that they are working to prevent a technological singularity. The quick definition of a "technological singularity" is basically a point when the machines of a civilization become more advanced than their creators and they are able to outdo their creators in pretty much every way imaginable.

The game attempts to justify the Singularity Motivation because all it takes is ONE incident with A.I. to bring about an apocalyptic war that would destroy all organics. Project Overlord was a very, very clear example of this: Cerberus nearly destroyed the entire galaxy. Organics lucked out big time that the Geth were so understanding and that A.I. like EDI are tame (and even then, EDI did something in the past before ME2 that may make you view her in a very different light: Mass Effect 3 reveals this).

The Reapers aren't hypocrites (in concept) in the Singularity Motivation because they don't perceive themselves as machines wiping out organics. They see themselves as immortal vessels that preserve a civilization forever that just happens to be synthetic. They see themselves as the saviors of organics for letting them grow and prosper and then harvesting them before they evolve to the point of singularity. "Imposing order on the chaos of organic evolution" as Sovereign said.
