Which enemy AI mod would you recommend?

I'm going to install locational damage, deadlier combat, and deadlier dragons. I want to make the game more challenging. I'm playing on expert. If the game is too hard with those mods and on expert, I'll modify things until it is challenging but not frustrating?

What difficulty do you guys play at? I was on adept, but moved to expert a week or two ago.

There's an alternate mod to the high level mod gameplay I provided, since the author to the latter has disappeared and this one is more recent.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15895

@Urzu: I play on Master difficulty. With all the mods installed, I do need to abuse the smithing/enchanting, but not too much. Like... 3/5 in the first enchanting perk was sufficient enough. I'm sure better players can get by without any in enchanting, although it's going to be a bit of a grind due to increased armor and HP.

I'd say the most difficult opponents aside from dragons are mages. One is easy enough to handle, but more than two becomes a challenge, even with maxed out elemental and magic resistance. The master/archmage level mages actually require me to use magicka draining potions to limit their spell usage. I didn't really notice too much of a difference fighting melee characters except that two handed users dealt some more damage.

For tough mages, especially dragon priests, I had to use lightning-type bows and tip my arrows with magicka-eating poisons.

I have yet to try them out, but this also means I'll change my gameplay style.

Frankly, I'm building up long to prepare for the eventual confrontation with Alduin.

Mages are my weak points Even though I'm a highly mobile, earth-wracking juggernaut. Those mages always seem to kill my health like chop-suey.

Yeah, the first order of business in Skyrim for any character should be to max your magic resistance. It's not hard to do, really. Easier than reaching the armour cap.

Breton- 25% passive magic resist
Agent of Mara quest- 15% permanent buff
Magic Resistance perks in Alteration tree- 10% resist per perk, up to 30%
Lord Stone- 50 armor and 25% magic resist
Disenchanting the Shield of Solitude- gives 25% magic resist as opposed to 20% from other equipment when you have 5/5 in the basic enchanting perk and a grand soul gem.

Aye, the magic resistance thing is something I didn't grasp initially with melee types --- after all, I was roleplaying a character that was highly suspicious of magic whatever the use.

Damn it, Alduin's tough as hell and his HP still untouched, even after I just spammed him with enough Dragonrend to put him down and follow up with anything I had in my disposal.

Guess I have to disable certain mods to make sure it doesn't screw up with that bastard's stats.

The 'Impact' perk can technically stun-lock him forever.

Well not really, but it's a start.

Found out that the mods for enemy AI and stats (including the level cap), if enabled, literally made Alduin invincible, and what I did was to disable the mods before going mano-a-mano, and afterwards reenable the mods.

So there!

Alduin in general has problems accepting modifications, as the game seems to be scripted to use his 4th version when final event rolls in (the one with base 3143 health). It does this EVERY TIME (I should know, I tried with a personal difficulty adjustment mod as well as Deadly Dragons), so to make the fight challenging you have to adjust his health as soon as you step out into Sovngarde again.

Incidentally this also causes the three Heroes of Skyrim to be set to around 300-ish health each. Another thing you need to look out for.

I'll disable the AI/stat/combat mods whenever I have to do parts of the main quest, and put them back on when going on dungeon/castle/holdout raids. Yeah, the mods can cause some gameplay problems if used improperly.

Another gameplay mod; I've been looking forward to this one a lot:

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20923/

It's a mod that lets you dodge attacks and has animations for it. Nothing too over the top; it's just simple ducking, weaving and slipping away. However, it requires the Script Dragon plugin.

Kinda tired using MOD when your game is broken after installing 2 or 3 of them

Just got Skyrim myself. Unfortunately, as good as my computer is, it says it can only run it at low settings. Gonna need recommendations for (eventual) upgrades, unless you guys can look at my computer hardware and tell me the game is definitely lying to me.

do you know your computer spec?

at this point Official Patch is enough to improve general performance. but f you want more improvement go try some performance MOD like this http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6387/

or decreased the resolution

If you have 4GB or more RAM, one of the newer GTX cards from Nvidia (or likewise from ATI), and a multi-core cpu ... well, that *should* run it decently.

OTOH, I've run it on a single core cpu with 2GB ram and an old 9600GT without too much evil... (medium settings)
