I'm betting Msyu was sister that doesn't exist now due to him and his father becoming involved with the FD. She hung around his father too.

No need to abandon ship.

Not really. The current area is not 1997, and the destruction of Southeast Asia would only help Northeast Asia grow

Please people, let's not get into wild real-life economic speculations. The US gave up its position as the financial capital in the 60s to London, but with no ill-effects. Being a "financial capital" only means that people are trading certain financial instruments more frequently at that location. It the age of digital transactions, financial centers can move around the globe in a nanosecond.

Let's just focus on the plot... admittedly, if this series nips the budding romance, then the only reason I'll keep watching it is because I am so close to the end that I can't disengage. I will probably hate myself for it too.

I think I understand Mikuni's role a little bit more now. He's like an example of how passing large fiduciary responsibility to no-good children who never took a day of proper classes in their lives can ruin firms and economies.

I feel like this anime is trying to be a commentary on bail outs .

Entertaining episode this week as usual. Even if the production values are shit, at least it provides me with a good amount of entertainment every week.

Don't understand why people bash Mikuni. Yes, his method is no good but there's no better choice.
If not thank to him, Japan (and our main character included) could have disappeared.

Now I'm waiting for Kimimaro to pull out a Deus ex machina to make everyone happy

In all seriousness, I think that it is. More specifically, I think that it's saying that going into big national debts in order to give out such bail outs is bad.

I don't think we should dismiss the possibility that this anime is trying to say quite a bit about real world economic issues. I mean, this anime even went so far as to include a fictional meeting of the International Monetary Fund.

Hilariously, the guy leading it in this episode looked like an animated version of Dominique Strauss-Kahn too. I could make some really bad jokes right now, but I'll spare the rest of you, lol.

Anyway, I loved how epic this episode felt, especially the first half.

My country just got erased. If I ever saw the STI (Straits times Index, the stock index for my country) crash like that, I will probably jump as well, considering 70% of my assets are in it.

Still, an exciting episode. Time to find out how to switch midas money back to the future of people.

Y'know what I've been wondering is if either Masakaki is the dude from the middle ages that Satou was babbling about. (gambling with demons and starting the financial district) or if he IS said demon. Either way, Mikuni need's his head examined, going to him for help. It's like getting the devil to help you put out a fire in Hell.

Don't let a little incest stand in the way of an epic kiss. That is not the anime way!
