Anime speech
I apologize in advance if this isn't the right place or is inappropriate for this forum(s)
I have to think of a ten minute speech to give, and I was thinking about doing it on the topic of anime and manga. I was planning on covering some of the basics such as the history of anime and manga, the cultural background, popularity levels in different parts of the world etc... I was just wondering if I could get some brainstorming ideas for this project. It's a final project for a public speaking class. I was thinking about using a powerpoint with it, but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance, and again I'm sorry if this isn't the right place for advice/help. Feel free to delete/move it.

With all the content available, it's possible to do 20 minutes or even 30.

In the meantime, general a basic outline. Then bring that over here.

I can't give you any advice beyond some generic stuff. I assume you already have the history covered discussing the likes of Miyazaki, Tezuka, ect. Is there a 20 questions round? The thing that stumped me when I did a presentation on anime and manga pertained to why I picked this topic/possible occupation involving this.

I would start it out trying to relate to your audience by talking about cartoons...Talk about cartoons that your audience knows and are familiar with based on the age dynamic in the room (Might be looney toons; might be Mutant Turtles; might be He-man), then you pivot off of that subject into introducing the Japanese equivalent of what we watch(ed) in the western world and how and why it was a natural progression for you to move towards anime...Then you start branching off into talking about the anime that propelled you into loving the subject...From there you go into breaking down genres, history, of anime, etc....
Don't forget Dragonball Z is the most successful crossover anime in western history...So don't hate even if it's sullied westerners minds of what anime is...That was a selfish contribution I know^^, but use it to your advantage...
