This thread covers a lot of the series that are coming up soon, although I don't see why Bleach can't have it's own thread. I know I'm looking forward to it.
Spoiler for nothing much:

It's a shounen action show with some comedy as well, something along the lines of Naruto or Fullmetal Alchemist. |

I don't think there are many animation studios that can do a 100+ episode series without having some variation in quality or adding in some fillers. Besides in my opinion most animes don't match up to their originals anyway. |

It will probably be the next Shaman King. IMO, there are a lot of similarities between these two series. Eventually, both of them become mindless fighting series with nothing but fights and the occasional trainings. And both of them have fights that feature sudden ridicious power-ups and one-hit kills. Well, at least I liked Bleach a lot more than Shaman King....... it doesn't get as messy and repetitive as Shaman King.
As for anime series usually being inferior to the manga counterpart, it's a true fact. However, it doesn't have always have to be that way. Look at FMA, it's an example of a manga-to-anime being done right. |

Although I don't have high opinions for Studio Pierrot (see Naruto), I must admit that they are quite suited for a long TV series which Bleach will most likely be. Sub-par art quality, but oh well...yay for animated action sequence!

What most of the fans do not even consider the fact that the longer-running series will always compromise, either with filler or inconsistent animation or with some other factors. The reasons should be obvious with the example of the past. Animators can stay true to the script/manga if the show is consisted of no more than 26-52 episodes. Comparing small series with longer running series in the basis of "filler" and "animation inconsistency" is just using poor judgement where the lack of clear thinking is too obvious. Like someone suggested, not every studio will be able to handle big projects such as Naruto or One Piece. I suppose ignorance can be a bliss sometime. As far as I know, FMA is anything but staying true to the manga and the series is also supposed to conclude around the episode 52. What I would like to understand is how the studio is going to handle another potentially longer-running series without compromising the overall quality of atleast one of the show. The workload should weigh a lot more for that studio compare to their current consignment.
