Oh, you did make the thread after all!
I LOVE instrumentals, sometimes you need to leave out vocals and just enjoy the harmony of instruments by themselves. Great examples, thanks for sharing!~

Yay, I am glad you made this thread because I have several instrumentals I want to share. You are quite right too he is indeed a genious. His music sounds absolutely wonderful. I have a few of his songs on my computer actually. I believe Lia Peng Fang did "Dream of Autumn" as well.
Now I shall share some of mine. My current favourite is Rin. I happened on this music while browsing songs for the "Fearless" soundtrack. Innocence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-9CnV_cLsE What the Rain Said: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqDj3vFf-hA Sakura Sakura: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n50iiHQgh7c I love instrumental music and tend to prefer them over lyrical pieces because I can simply enjoy the melody. |

Will is definitly good, but I am in the same struggle. I like 'Sakura Sakura,' but 'What the Rain Said' appeals to my typical emotion.
Here is 'Lullaby' from the "Fearless" Soundtrack by Shigeru Umebayashi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyfXySEw27g I am not certain how you are able to show the actual Youtube video in the thread though. Sorry if the links appear daunting~ |

Oh oh oh! Listen
It's only the fairy tale sung by Miyamura Yuuko as Alyssa Sears in Mai Hime which is also my favorite anime song but the instrumental is just as good without lyrics! Though I don't know the artists for the instrumentals.

These aren't similar but you may like:
Also from Mai Hime called Ensei Spoiler for Mai Hime OST:
Not sure if you'd like this one but it's short and quick, also from Mai Hime. Mai-Hime has a lot of good (at least IMO) instrumentals so maybe you might wanna look up the OST. Spoiler for Mai Hime OST:
This is from Fate/Stay Night called Unmei no Yoru translated as Night of Fate. I love the violin part, the female vocal in the background is what I don't like :P. Spoiler for Fate/Stay Night OST:

Clannad pieces sure are brilliant, some of them are almost out of this world.
Right, I'm going to bring up "dai" from my pool of favorite instrumental tracks. Dai is best known for composing many tracks for Higurashi and Umineko visual novels. Dai's pieces are very diverse. Some of them are ethereal but some are dynamic. Spoiler for dai - you instrumental:
Spoiler for dai - Tsuki Usagi no Butou:
Spoiler for dai - hope ver1.00:
Spoiler for dai - Meitantei wa Shitteiru:

I was kinda wondering if this thread was meant to be strictly Korean or Japanese instrumentals but I notice a few western instrumental pieces here so I'm gonna drop my two cents in. I think that one of the best instrumental bands out there is Apocalyptica. What makes them special is that they play electric cellos rather than guitars. Here's a few songs by them for your enjoyment
Spoiler for Apocalyptica:

As someone who does quite like instrumental songs, I figured I should post some here. I could bring up Maeda Jun and his work in Angel Beats, Kanon and Clannad since his work is awesome , but for now I'll bring up someone else perhaps a bit less know, Kousaki Satoru; you've might have heard his works before in Bakemonogatari, Lucky Star, Ore no Imouto, or Kannagi, series which he made the whole OST for , as well as themes for Haruhi Suzumiya [Original, 2009, and disappearance] including the three insert songs .
Spoiler for Bakemonogatari themes:
No songs for those sadly, can't find any, so just a list. Haruhi Suzumiya Themes: Spoiler for Nagato vs Asakura:
Spoiler for Asakura Ryouko no Shinjitsu :
Spoiler for Nagato no Kokuhaku:
Lucky Star Themes: [First three less serious tracks that I like. While second 4 are surprising emotional pieces ] Spoiler for Unchiku dayo:
Spoiler for Filna Fantasy:
Spoiler for Unnamed Track 6 from the OVA:
Spoiler for Kagami Dake Chigaku Class ni Nachatta...:
Spoiler for Kanata no Theme:
Spoiler for Zutto Bunkasai no Junbi wo Shiteitai:
Spoiler for Kagami Kyun:
