Macross F - The Labyrinth of Time (short film) Discussion Thread
Along with the new Delta movie, there's also going to be a brand new Macross Frontier short film, "Macross F - The Labyrinth of Time."
It doesn't say much more than that, but honestly, I'm expecting basically a long music video. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...-short/.169225

Hm, Ranka looks noticeably older in that image. Hopefully we might get some proper closure on the second movie. Yep, I know we have official confirmation that Alto comes back and Sheryl wakes up, but it'd be nice to see it. I dare not hope for some proper closure for the TV series.

I presume because it's still quite popular in Japan? I know Macross doesn't make a big blip over here in the west, due to the vultures at Harmony Gold ( to my eternal annoyance), but it is much more of a cultural icon in Japan, AFAIK.

Alto was a great character, in that he was flawed and conflicted, while still doing the right thing. Aside from his constant yelling in combat (which I found a bit grating), he had pretty subtle characterization, but it was definitely there. If you paid attention. But he definitely had a decent character arc and was the steady rock Sheryl could depend on, even if he was grumpy about it.
I'd love to see a more definite resolution to the TV series, but that is probably too much to ask for. This is probably going to be in the movie-verse.
