Oh come oon, pretty much everyone thinks Hanji is female. And it wouldnt be the first time when tomboyish girls talk masculinely so that doesnt prove a thing. And if the author drew her in a skirt already then isnt it obvious?
Which reminds me, how did they call Hanji in the official english Attack on titan manga? He or she? Last edited by Flolan; 2013-06-01 at 15:21. |

This episode really pissed me off, half the episode was spent with Eren just basically saying "WTF?" in his head instead of actually saying something. I really hate when TV shows pad an episode by having someone say the same thing for 5 minutes with another 5 minutes of flashback.
Say what you need to say and move on with the plot we only get 20 minutes each week people, I need my plot fix

What?!?! Mikasa is 150 lbs? While Eren is 139 lbs? Both at 5'7"" to boot. That explains why Mikasa is so strong. Her muscles are made of iron. I've met some guys who are 5'7" and weigh under 140 lbs... They are quite skinny, unlike Eren there. Back to the episode, it seems like that bastard captain is out to do something wrong again, although understandable considering the circumstances. My vote is he'll be killed very soon, either by a titan or maybe even Levi. Speaking of Levi, yes he is quite powerful, but his entrance is a little putoff. Either it is the art's fault or the seiyuu, he does not come off as someone I would like. I could not tell if his pep talk to the dying soldier was genuine or just a show to ease the guy. He also has obsessive compulsive disorder, apparently, which is not a bad thing, but it makes him seem a little elitist. Well, we don't know much about him yet, but initial impression was not good. Seriously, though, how is anyone going to kill Eren? As far as I can tell, he is indestructible. Even if they slice at the titan's neck Eren is in and injures Eren, he can still regenerate. Will chopping off his head even work? I don't think he has the same weakness of the back of the neck like the titans do, since it seems like some sort of control center for the titans (unnecessary in Eren). Also, with Levi introduced this episode, I expect to see a lot of him next episode. Also, it comes back to the key and the basement again. It must be something quite profound, that could possibly defeat the titans. If so, why didn't the professor utilize it before he died?

If you cut Eren's arm you harm him but you do not kill him, hence he can regenerate. But if you cut his head, pierce his heart and so on, he will die, and that will be the end. At any rate, that's the whole idea. I doubt Eren or Mikasa will every agree to try whether the theory is true or not.

The train of awesomeness continues with this week's episode.
The stuff with Levy and the Survey Corps was filler but I guess it was a good way to introduce them since they'll be important later on. They did a good job of making him seem interesting at least. As for the Eren stuff it was also pretty great. You could really feel the tension all around when they were trying to figure out whether or not to kill him on the spot, and even with his answer it wasn't too surprising that they tried to kill him anyway. Well for now Eren's got an additional mission in addition to his Titan killing crusade and it's gonna make for an even more fun ride. Can't wait. |

I also loved how Mikasa grabs Eren when the cannon was about to be fired and leaves Armin to fend for himself. Armin just stood there like a deer caught in the headlights. Another thing of note was that Eren's dad mention that he hopes "THEIR" memory will be able to assist Eren. Who are THEY? I'm guessing the injection or something from the basement will guide Eren. When he referred to THEM, did he mean the titans or some scientist/ancient advanced technology people?

So the fate of Santa Clause Titan has been revealed. Having a titan pop out of his body must have been painful.
Also note, it seems humans can survive for a little while in the stomach if they are swallowed hole. Not entirely sure what happens to them after that. I suppose they just melt and dissolve into that liquid.

This episode kinda felt like a waste..
But anyways what exactly happens to the human bodies in the stomach? Some were still clearly alive so if the soldiers are able to kill the titans right off the bat could they be retrieved? Or do they just disappear with the Titans? |

Well considering titans don't need to eat to survive, argument can be made that the liquid isn't stomach acid which is needed to digest food as nutrient. Maybe its blood mixed with piss of the eaten? :P |
