I'm still hoping for manga and DS exclusive characters to join. Like Yae and Nagisa... it probably won't happen, but it'd be nice. ^^;

Curses! I was too slow!
http://higu.biz/dbp/ Hmm... it seems that this the new Higurashi Daybreak MEGA EDITION actually has a few changes, aside from 3 new characters and the odd interface change... - Slightly enhanced graphics - A new mode of sorts (and something about 330 MB), not quite sure what it is... http://higu.biz/dbp/system/newsys_01.html - An improved pause menu that allows quitting the game in progress (a godsend!) - Changes in story cutscenes- uses 2D art, rather than the 3D ones seen in the original PSP game. - A far larger variety of weapons and costumes. Ho sweet! A new version of the game!?
I was very pleased with the original Portable version of the game, and this version will probably only improve on that.~ Thank you so much for posting this here or I never would've found out. This is a definite import for me!~ ...I find it funny it's released on the exact same date the original HDP was but only a year later. xD

Another thing I forgot to mention:
http://higu.biz/dbp/introduction/newitems_01.html Hanyuu gets a badass special move when in a Hypermode, using the "Onigari no Ryūō" (i.e. The demon banishing sword). She dashes towards her opponent, stabs them, before launching them with her vengence; and automatically targets the other opponent when the move has finished. However, the major drawback of this move is that she might be vulnerable to the other opponent's attack before, during and after the special move. Last edited by blaze0041; 2009-09-23 at 05:15. Is there anyone here who will be able to translate that page and list all the new features? I want to know what my money is going towards.

1. 3 new characters, Miyoko, Okonogi, and Satoshi. 3 new teams are also added: Satoshi & Satoko, Satoshi & Shion, plus Miyoko & Okonogi. 2. Story intermissions and Victory sequences are now done in 2D, rather than the original Portable's 3D(-esqe?) art. Ending sequences are still in 3D (I believe). 3. Hanyuu gains a special move using the demon banishing sword. See my above post. 4. 16 new costumes to be purchased, including kimonos. 7. New opening? I don't know the rest, sorry... |

6. Additional features for toy weapons. 8. Transferring save data from Higurashi Daybreak Portable to this new version. Hanyuu's new move looks like another version of Rika's EX-skill, "Satoko-dan" with me

Story I'm not too hyped about cause I won't be able to understand it anyway, though I am glad that the toy weapons from the first game are getting some much needed tweaks. Data transfer is nice too, means I won't have to re-buy everything from the store and re-collect all those figurines I unlocked in the first game.~

I'd reccomend using PlayAsia. I've ordered all my imported games from there. In the case of the original Daybreak Portable, I pre-ordered the Limited Box version and I got it in the mail EXACTLY 3 weeks after it was publiclly released in Japan. So yeah, PlayAsia.

You never know... :P
However, that team in story mode might be too spoilerific for those who haven't seen Kai yet. (Actually, now that I think about it, only a small percentage who would buy this game would not have played/viewed Kai yet...)
