Spoiler for Comparison to the novels:
Oh well the pacing was really fast at the start and then they slowed down on the second half, this time Subaru knows how to fight against Betelgeuse, glad that he was 1 step ahead of him this time and this didn't ended on another tragedy. Julius is a freaking bro without question, with this Betelgeuse fight is going to end probably the next week. Now after this episode I'm really worried about the last ep of Re:Zero and even more knowing is just 25 minutes, White Fox is going to cut so much content that I don't even know how are they going to reach the epilogue. Instead of doing a 25 mins episode they should go straight to 1 hour. Last edited by relentlessflame; 2016-09-11 at 12:56. Reason: Spoiler tag for comparisons |

REMINDER
If you are going to compare to the novels in any way, shape, or form, it must be behind clearly-marked spoiler tags. You are also not allowed to discuss future content at all. Do not post any sort of novel comment in the clear, ever.

Just to serve as a balance: I loved the episode. The first half served to tie up the stumbling blocks that Subaru met the previous loop, and the second half set up the table for the final confrontation. You couldn't ask more from a penultimate episode.

Can you blame us for talking spoilers? I mean I won't but I am seriously tempted to spread the word about how white fox can screw this up. This episode is giving me a very bad premonition on what episode 25 will be like. Maybe it's just an early assumption on my part, but I just can't wash this feeling away.

I have to admit, Julius is becoming much more likeable in some of these latest episodes especially this one.
One more episode left...I noticed they didn't do the OP or ED theme song this week similar to one of the other episodes.

Anime-only viewers don't need to be "warned" about anything; they're judging the anime, not the novels by proxy of the anime. If they really want to know how it compares to the novel, they can look at that comparison after.

On god, we've been horribly trolled. Emilia? Rem? Nope! Now the OTP of Subaru and Julius have literally joined together as one in a giant cascade of rainbow sparkles... My favorite scene in this episode was definitely Julius and Felis giving Subaru those hilarious looks when he was explaining that cloak was originally Emilia's and him denying he stole it. So amusing in fact I missed that the flashback playing during that scene was showing that Emilia threw the cloak at him during their fight at the beginning of the arc. In contrast though, I'm just not feeling it this episode. Compared to the rest of this series so far which was has been incredibly well done, this episode felt flat and rushed. Next week is the finale right? Was it confirmed yet if it'll be extended as previously suggested/mentioned? Last edited by Arkard; 2016-09-11 at 13:37. Reason: Added part about cloak flashback. |

Holy crap, what an episode!!!
The support characters in this series continue to be awesome and Subaru's VA creates an almost instant rapport with new characters. IMO, whatever annual award for VA performance must surely go to this person. Kind of thinking that this was the pinnacle episode for this run and the next will be mostly an afterwards. Agree wholeheartedly. Patrasche is the best girl! Last edited by SeaDoor; 2016-09-11 at 13:47. Reason: Oh! One more thing... |

Please tell me Subaru stays this much of a improved character. I have went from sorta liking him to hating him to completely loving him. He has hugely improved from the idiot he was at the beginning of this arc. This was a great episode quit complaining about the novel there was no time to show what ever was in it.

To echo the complaints of the WN/LN readers, I must say that as an anime-only viewer the scene where Subaru convinced the villagers to evacuate felt rushed and dissatisfying, especially after the trouble he had with convincing them in the previous episode. I felt that there probably was more of an intense back-and-forth dialogue in the original source before the touching conclusion that the anime had to skip over for time-related purposes.

Man, that part where Betelgeuse start flying and the mini cats reaction to it was so funny..lol
The scene with Emilia and the kids was adorable. Poor girl deserves some love. All of this was possible because of Subaru's hard work and all the suffering he went through just to see Emilia's smile and she has no idea how much he did for her. It's tragic actually but at least the audience knows he is in fact the greatest Knight of all Julius using his spirit spell to see what Subaru sees was interesting by i wonder what is the plan to prevent Subaru being possessed again... Subaru's checkpoint got updated. I'm curious to know how that works! It's a pretty important topic in the plot so i really hope we get at least some hints before the end of the anime/season!
