So yeah, if you look at the spoiler and this part, you can see she's not really important in Majikoi. But that will change in Majikoi S, since she's one of the new main characters.

But that bit where Yamato and the MonkeyBoy simulate a vagina with their hands, WTF. And Yamato dropping his pants in front of Kokoro, I presume he actually showed her more than just his underwear.
The fight in this episode was probably the only thing that lacks flashiness, Yamato just got tossed around.

This episode can easily tell people about Kokoro's easily changing attitude depending on the situation. First she is enraged at the fact that Yamato uploaded that embarrassing video, then she gets attracted to him by the word "cute". Then after making Yamato angry (this also tells us how much he values friendship, and especially his major endurance) decides not to go easy on him.

Either way, they have introduced more things about the characters. Probably making us think of how there character development will turn out instead of fully slapping it on our faces. Just like someone said in episode 1, this is going to be your episodic anime about friends doing things together. But the harem mash-up is still preventing any real development or plot advancement.

Yeah. For now we have an awesome first episode, a meh second episode with some small story development, two chapters that were a waste of time (except Miyako's parts) and this last one, which is a continuation of the last one and it's okay.

I hope the next one advances the story a little more. I mean, they can't possibly drag this anymore, right? Right? RIGHT???? And drop the harem, Minatosoft. You failed at it. Don't use it anymore, else you will just drag the story, and episode 2 and 3 are the best proof of that. It's sometimes painful to watch, because it feels really forced and too typical, specially if you have played the game. And I thought this anime was for fans.

Aww we finally got into the school yet no Sensei, that was abit of a bummer but instead we got a rather nice little episode on Kokoro.
TBH she wasn't a character that I paid much attetention to but when you have such focus it does paint a different picture and I liked it, she's very likable but not just cause of her redeeming moment but as a chracter as whole.
I like "ojou-sama" attitude, is oddly charming in a way.

But then I do think a part(probably a big part) of why I like her is cause of Mizuhashi Kaori, she's really grown on me recently with Baka Test:D

The festival setting only has so many things that can happen (slightly more if it's in a supernatural setting). Luckily, Majikoi rose to the occasion and made sure that it stiffened up its presentation. When putting words like that in the creator's mouths, they had to be careful that the entire premise of the episode doesn't explode without warning. It needs to aim a little lower before it does that.

The episode started with Miyako's homemade (live!) porn film, but that's just about the last time female genitalia plays a part in the episode. Hideo, in all his scenery-chewing theatrical glory, shows up to challenge Yamato's class once more. It can be safely said that he was being kind of a dick about the whole thing. The episode doesn't fall limp, however, thanks to a special guest appearance from Norio Wakamoto. You can never go wrong with the Wakamoto.

I haven't written a post like this since Manyuu Hikenchou ended. I hope I get more chances in the future.

There's nothing wrong with Baka to Test. It's one of the best comedy series I watched. And fortunately, the novel is even better.

Also, episode 2 of Majikoi consists on them following a stupid dog for half the episode, and only had a small part about story development. And episode 3 consists on two halfs, the first half is about Miyako, which is awesome, and the second half have Mayucchi talk to herself for all the episode. I don't know how watching such episodes made you want to watch the whole series. In fact, in some people it took the opposite effect (include episode 4 here) and decided to drop the series. Fortunately episode 5 is better, and the same for this new one.

Holy penis what happened?
Episode 5 started off not bad, Miyako trying to make an adult film with Yamato as the male lead. But the ending was bizarre, with two guys showing off their private parts.
There was a bit story development, talks about Yamato's dad and fugitive people, but I still don't get what it is all about. Hope next week give us more inside into the story. I don't mind this being a comedy show, but in that case don't try to introduce something like a storyline.

Just watched episode 3.

As long as I disregard everything that happens in episode 1, this series is watchable. I literally dropped Maji de Watashi after the first episode because it looked like another nonsensical, school battle series, like Baka to Test. Thank god episode 2 and 3 turns out to be nothing like episode 1. Other than the sexual humor, this series doesn't have anything that stands out. I will keep watching to see the kind of direction the anime will head towards.

I had a similar experience. After that totally nonsensical ep. 1 (which however didn't remind me one bit of BakaTest), I also felt very tempted to drop this.
I then decided to give it a last chance with the second episode, and it felt like a completely different anime, which just coincidentally had the same characters as the first ep.
It's entertaining to watch now, Miyako's funny antics alone already make it fully worth it :D

Yes, Chris is great, but she falls back a bit with a genius like Miyako who comes up with ever new perverted plans. This episode's "live AV production" really took the cake :D

That was the most hilarious episode I've ever watched this season. The girls' reaction to the shrine was just hysterical.

Kazuko's facial expressions throughout the entire ordeal were incredibly hhnnggg-inducing. It's bad for my heart, damn it. She can be erotic or cute at any given moment. XD

I just love how Miyako immediately claimed the shrine as hers after Yamato said it was modeled after his magnum. lmao

Oh, and things were just getting good until they bit off the candy.

Be careful what you wish for. While this episode mostly dealt with the aftermath of the festival, at about the halfway point, it turned into something else entirely. Momo's just not satisfied with harem antics. She wants to fight. And fight, fight, fight. While that has some unique advantages, I wonder if romance is on her mind at all.

Either way, she found what she was looking for. The group from the dog episode returns, now unmasked and with someone who Momo actually can't beat. Figures. It's episode 7, and things are expected to take a turn for the turn around this point. Still not without its humor, though, as shown by Matsukaze riffing on the new group.

Also, Momo can deflect bullets with her finger. Um, wow. Don't want to get on her bad side.

You're surprised that Momoyo can deflect bullets? I mean, in the game she was hit by an explosion that came from two axes (or whatever those things were) with explosives attached to them and that she grabbed with her hands, and she was perfectly fine.

And about that girl, is she the one with blue hair, aka Tatsuko? I so want to see what will happen when Yamato and she meet in the anime. Unless that has happened already in this episode, but I still have to watch it.

But Miyayo literally turns her back to her opponent, and runs off in the opposite direction in a straight line.

Even if she's Yamato crazy, I think she was more logical in terms of fighting which all the girls are suppose to be competent in.

For some odd reason, I have found myself looking at this (like Mirai Nikki, I blame the OP music - utter awesome :D)

So thus, after seeing the first episode, I think I'll give it a shot. The right combination of ridiculousness, action and love polygons, ha ha.

Strangely, the episode felt more like a series end rather than a series start - though somehow it seemed to work, leaving enough of a loose end (Yamato's love life) to carry on from.

uh, the anime isn't following any of the VNs routes, the character that's fighting momoyo is anime original, though momoyo does fight against an equal enemy in the true route of the VN

Aside from some flashbacks to expositionize the episode, almost the entire episode was spent with Momo facing the cyborg squad. It was a pretty intense fight, too. I like the contrast going on between the two all girl squads. Our heroes fight using traditional kinetic weapons and qi powers, while these new enemies are all technology-outfitted-cyborgs. Magic vs science for a modern age. And some of these cyborg attachments are wacked. Jetpacks? Missiles? Gattling guns? Quite the shocker.

Not all of it is fights and fighting, though. Yamato took a blow at the end of the episode, propelling us into hospital-based angst for the home stretch.

The title of the next episode is making my yuri sensors perk up. And I'll leave on that note, until next week comes.

This was the most boring episode of the entire anime IMO. An entire episode for a boring fight that started in the previous episode, plus 4-5 minutes explaining what happened to Tachibana is just way boring. No plot development worth commenting apart from the blueprint part, no comedy, and the animations for the fight were bad (the worst one was at the part with the machine gun, it was unbearable to watch). And then we switch to drama in the end. Give me back my Miyako start and my comedy. Heck, I'm even missing the harem part in this episode.

There's not "the" original story line. Each girl has her own path, and except for episode 1 (which was a drastically shortened/simplified end of the Momo path), I've yet to see relevant game content re-used in the anime.

In my opinion, the anime is very uneven and alternates between "great" and "poor". The game is much more stable here. Comes with my highest recommendation. Oh, and bring enough time. The various girls' paths are LONG.

Finally got around to watching ep. 8. After that last episode, I wasn't too motivated to watch this one.

Momoyo's "Instant recovery" was pretty cheap already, but the cyborg girl took the cake by far. First, she has unlimited ammo for her gatling-type gun which conveniently appeared out of thin air. Even simple guns like that fire at an speed of 2.500 rounds per minute, the best ones up to 10.000 rounds/min. Even with a median of 6.000, the fight went on for at least half an hour actual time. You do the math. Where's the truck that's carrying her ammo?
Same thing with that dozen of missiles she pulls out of her ass to fire them at Momoyo.
I could perhaps see her cyborg parts (hands and legs) not being damaged by four grenades detonating at the smae time, but the rest of her body not even getting as much as a scratch? Gimme a break already :rolleyes:
Oh, and besides all that steel muscles in her legs to give her super-strength, she still has enough space in her legs to fit jet engines and jet fuel to let her fly around as she wants. Yeah right.

Seriously, whoever came up with this retarded episode should be hung on his balls from the ceiling XD
Hope the next one won't be such a disaster either.

I was going to check this series out because I enjoyed the manga version of the VN, but another poster warned me that the plot was somewhat... hard to follow at first. After reading the posts here about the show, I think I'm going to skip it.... doesn't really seem to be my cup of tea. Not a fan of harem endings... or Yuri... or anime that rely more on ecchi than actual plot and development. Not to mention almost all the reviews I've seen of the show have panned it.

Like episode 8, a largely fighting based episode, but with a key different. Cookie and Yamato are playing a bigger role in the fight this time, and the amount of exposition has largely decreased. Yamato's method of defeating Sasa was pretty creative - even after a major blow, he still knows how to use what he's got to win. Indecent though it may be. While the anime's pretty much been running down a route all its own all along, this episode pretty much confirmed what's been known since the show kicked off - that Momo is going to be the winner. Not Yamato over her, I think, but her over Yamato. She is the strongest girl in the world, after all. Pushing aside the other contenders to get to Yamamto herself pretty much confirms her reversal of nature from the first episode.

.... they were saving-money so they can afford to choreograph and stage the absolute jaw dropper that is the slow-motion confrontation between Saki-and-The Heroines.

Contemporary animators REALLY should take note of Episode 10 of Maji De Watashi Ni Koi Shinasai as an example of how to do a GOOD fight scene: Speed (which is COMPLETELY abasent here) is not necessary as long as ferocity, finess, technique and elegance is conveyed with absolute clarity and without cutting corners.

There's a english patch but it's still incomplete and so far, the only route that I know that is fully translated are: momoyo, chris (too bad there's no after story for her :( ), mayuuchi, and umeko-sensei (which is the best for me at least)

Yeah I read that blog already or at least some of it.
Sad panda for me I wanted to play the game for miyako story, but even though she was like first in the pool on that blog they made momoyo story.
Still it will take probably years for them to finish it or at least months considering that they finished momoyo in october and are now at 56% of wanko story in december.
I probably will play that game with AGTH even though most of the text is engrish but when you use atlas/google you can make out most of the sentences no problem.

In some ways, this episode felt like a return to the style of the first episodes, including reusing some of the same gags, but with the added bonus of all the development the show had gathered up to now. The harem battle for Yamato (as in an actual battle) reached a fever pitch, but it's become clear what Yamato really loves - Japan. I didn't expect this show to get nearly as political as it has, but it certainly helps set it apart. The scene where the haremettes do a deep search of Yamato's room and find his porn was probably the best moment of the episode - Miyako, of course, was viewing it with intense interest.

Now, the dawn of the final battle approaches~!

well, they're enemies in the true route because they're hired by the "big bad", it's not really anything personal. And Tatsuko falls for Yamato HARD, so she gets her route in S. I caught up with ep.11, but now that the show got a plot... well, it is more idiotic than without one... so the game that everyone stressed that it's not about romance/H-caps was about some patriots/fascists/conservatives betrayed by money-hungry/corrupted/liberal capitalists :confused: what can I say that is more childish than a russian or polish equivalent of an american red-neck is mentally capable of viewing the extremely small world around him, and now it has infected asia too, idiocy is really viral :p

When it was being serious, it was boring enough to get a 2/10.
In other words, the comedy parts of this anime were great, but everything else over the politics and terminator were dead boring. Very boring.

The blue-hair (enemy), Mayucchi, and Miyako were great characters.
Why does the blue-hair even talk like that... She showed she had a brain and could act normally in the last episode.
It's a shame they couldn't begin every episode with Miyako like they did with the first half.
Mayucchi's voice actor was pretty good.

Mayucchi was voiced by Goto Yuko, who simply lacks the ability to not be hilarious - she was as great as always. Provided 90% of the best moments. The comedy and ecchi were generally very good. The "serious" stuff - even if you aren't bothered by the decidedly ugly xenophobia that clearly drove most of it - simply didn't work for me. The finale was almost embarrassingly bad at times, which is a real shame as this was a show that had real charm as long as it kept things ecchi and light, and steered well clear of politics.

Yea I have to agree with some others that this really should have stayed with the ecchi silly fun instead of going into well whatever it was it went into in the later half.
Usually I'd be fine with whatever happens in such series but this got to me.
Sticking to school life antics and having some sorta silly epic battle at the end would have been for the best.

Mayuchhi was def the proving to be the best part of the series for me, still tho I have to say Momo-chan is no.1.
Also glad that Tsubame showed up again even if only for a second, she's cho kawaii~!

Not great by a long shot but was a good fun and somewhat enjoyable romp for the most part.
The girls were the saving grace, I do love the character design here.

This is what I think about this anime:

So, Majikoi Anime is finally over. The last episode was okay, I guess. But unfortunately, I can only say that the anime was a big disappointment. They obviously knew how to handle the comedy part (Miyako segments and the Penis Festival), and the action part was also okay in the first and last episode. Unfortunately, the rest of the Anime was just plain bad, with horrible animations, two episodes with only character introduction that were bad (Chris and Mayucchi segments were the main problem), the dog episode which was a really huge waste of half an episode, and the second part of the anime about the cyborg girl (aka serious part) which, I'm sorry to say this, was not interesting at all except for the last episode. I really missed the humour part in those episodes. Also, I'm really sad that some side characters didn't appear as much as I wanted, like Jun. Really, a big disappointment.

So yeah, I was expecting something great since the game is really funny, but I guess I got my butt kicked. Really, I will go ahead and grab the first episode, the last episode, the Penis Festival episode and a custom episode made with all Miyako segments and I will call that the anime. Which probably is way better than what we had to watch.

Majikoi was not about romance in the True route of the Visual Novel. On each other route which focused on that Yamato will end up with the girl you want, the romance and the drama during each step of getting together and staying together takes priority. And even in the True route you had 2 or 3 h-scenes for no apparent reason.

Majikoi IS about romance, just because it doesn't happen in the True route doesn't mean it's not about romance. Besides, compared to the heroines route, the True route was nothing special IMO. It also is about comedy and martial arts, but I guess that part was obvious from the beginning if you've watched the anime. And seriously, more than True route, I call it Agave route, since in Majikoi S all previous routes (main heroines and Agave) can be considered as "true" routes.

the prime minister of japan is involved heavily in at least one route(and he's involved for the over the top martial arts), but there's pretty much zero references to actual political ideologies...a lot of patriotism though

In Mayucchi's route, Yamato, Mayucchi, Kokoro and the Prime Minister form the Prime Minister team. Reason? To get the billion yen prize to use it for the country. Also, the Prime Minister can fight, and he's damn good with a gun, be it pistol or sniper rifle. No wonder, because he was also trained by that old man from the Kawakami. He's a really cool character in the game.

In other words, the one from the Anime is not as good as the one from the game.

Just finished watching the last episode. Thought the ending fit perfectly with the mediocrity of the entire season. Trying to take the anime in a somewhat serious route with all this political intrigue was laughable. The fights that were spawned off from that route were a joke. Hell, the first episode with the class battle was more entertaining...

The harem antics wasn't bad and should have stuck with that and the class battle as the manga does. There's some good stuff in that route. Well I guess the show had me laughing at it most of the time and that's a plus since it takes more muscles to frown...
