@era-era: Basically, Ichika is with the army(read as police), Tatenashi is with an unsanctioned highly armed NGO(read as vigilante) at least I'm assuming the org's not sanctioned by the government. Police don't look too kindly on vigilantes.

@Eras this initially caught some spark amongst the higher ups, such as Haruna stunned in fear when she supposed to gave fire support or Ren screwed up with the tactics as they see the ETX Beast for the first time (can qualify into High octane Nightmare fuel for some).

More explanation as of why is that pilot of core-equipped A.S. unit can be exposed into acceleration level and maneuver as high as 9 g (a point where even trained pilot unable to function properly).

The aptitude test doesn't cover to what level A.S. unit can perform, but to what level the SECONDARY system can support the pilot (inertia canceller being one of them...). Mass Produced, core-less A.S. often employed by real soldier to support core-equipped A.S. unit of our teenage protagonist. But those two has staggering difference of speed, endurance, and durability.

Of course there is, since by any terms core-equipped A.S. are second only to I.S. the pilot must be stable enough. Except something that can be played for laughs, all the psychological impact is treated rather seriously.

Especially in the case of civilian, such as Run, who saw a tentacle-equipped ETX mutilated by Rito who' literally covered with chainsaw.... :uhoh:

To expand upon my idea, rather than one planet being the world, it would probably be comprised of a system of planets.

There would be individual planets for the synthesis of food, water,, energy, and raw materials.

All that is synthesized would be used for the planet that is used for residency.

The entire planetary system is enclosed in a membrane filled with a cloud, this is the hive mind.

Then again, if Volume 8's not out in March or earlier, I'm just going to use this as fake spoilers:

Prologue: The boss of Phantom Task (not Squall) declares war on IS Academy.

Chapter 1: A little usual harem antics lasting for about 75 pages, includes class, training, and a little night walk with one girl (I'll let you decide). Then Ku-chan appears and gives Ichika and the girl one heck of a beating.

Interlude 1: A little more about Ku's past.

Chapter 2: Ichika ends up in a coma with all the girls looking at him worriedly. Chifuyu moves back to the underground bunker to think of what to do, knowing that the IS was unregistered, which means that Ku was under Tabane. 3am in the morning, a squadron of 10 IS (including Madoka) from Phantom Task arrive at IS Academy, declaring war. The girls, including the Blue-hairs and the other 2 finalists in the previous tournament, sortie to take them on. *Leaves description of fight to you guys*, with IS Academy obviously on the losing side before a few teachers take part in the battle too.

Interlude 2: Chifuyu's past.

Chapter 3: Fight continues, Ichika wakes up from the coma as Yamada-sensei was right beside him. Moves about for a bit, chit-chat with Yamada-sensei, and then deploys Byakkushiki, flying off to fight (jumping from the sick-bay's window), and giving IS Academy an advantage, only for Tabane to release her 10 Golem IV into the mix (having incorporated Houki's data), and it became a little team up between Phantom Task and IS Academy, only for them to be losing. Chifuyu then appears in some [Kurezakura Kai] (3.5 Gen) that was secretly undergoing modifications while the 3rd and 4th generation were undergoing construction. Shows off her second phase which allows her IS to scatter into flower petals the moment it's shot, and nearly defeats all the golems, only for Ku to appear with a much improved version of the 'remover' just at the time when she was shot, to the horror of everyone. Ichika then goes berserk and attacks before someone calms him down with a cooldown hug (who knows)

Interlude 3: Tabane's past.

Epilogue:

Well, a little funeral and likes, and then bla bla bla... Tabane feeling conflicted that she had to kill her best friend just to get this information, and Ichika quits IS Academy to hunt down Tabane.

Either way, Ichika is a volunteer who gets assigned to teach them about some rehab in order to keep them calm. As the story goes on, Ichika finds that the prison has a harsh system and frequently displays brutality way beyond norm. The story is focused on his struggles to help them and keep them safe as much as he can.

Lingyin sits on the bed, trying to keep herself composed as an unknown aura residing in his room causes her heart to beat fast.

‘Uuu… What is this? I can’t keep calm even when I’ve been here a lot of times… and then there’s this… good smell…’

Her mind frantically tries to keep calm as she looks around the room to find something to distract her. Not long after, a photo album on top of a desk catches her attention.

“Ah, you still have commemorative photos kept?”

“Hm? Ah, yes. Ever since the photo of us that was taken during second year in Middle School, there have not been any more pictures taken after that.”

“That photo…?”

“Yeap. The one that was taken shortly before you moved out. Don’t you remember?”

“I think I could recall… somehow.”

“Ah, well okay then.”

‘That was a lie… I remember that moment very clearly.’ Lingyin thinks to herself, looking at Ichika as he hands over a glass of cold barley tea to her.

“Thanks.”

She then drinks the barley tea and set her curious eyes on the album.

“May I…?” She asks while pointing at it.

“Sure.”

She takes the photo album and begins to slowly flip through the pictures, stopping to look at what would seem to be a photo taken when Chifuyu was still in middle school and young Ichika being much smaller than he currently is.

“That’s our first photo… taken during first year in elementary school.” He remarks while pointing at the photo.

“The first? There are no other pictures before this…?”

“Seems like it.” He answers with uncertainty while sitting next to Lingyin, causing her to slightly startle in fright due to sudden close proximity with Ichika.

He then takes the photo album and begins to browse through the pages, showing various photos of him when he was very young.

‘Aah… Erm… Damn, keep cool! There shouldn’t be any scent of sweat, right? I mean, he’s not reacting or whatsoever… yet.’

As she tries to apprehend her stirred mind, Ichika notices a couple of photos in the album, ones that he has not seen before.

“Hm…? Don’t remember these photos being here…”

“Ah? Which one…?”

He then slips out the photos. One of them shows a photo of what would seem to be Chifuyu, Maya, some Academy students and a few other people, seemingly taken in a dojo.

“This photo seems pretty new… Still… When was this taken?” Ichika mumbles to himself as he then looks at the other, much dated photo.

The photo shows a slightly younger Chifuyu along with some familiar faces from the other, recent photo.

As he scans through the said photo, his attention shifts towards two particular individuals who have their arms placed around each other’s back. Seemingly sporting familiar traits, Ichika soon recognizes the individuals.

“T…This is…! Could it be… Inami and Tsurugi-san?”

“What?” Lingyin snaps as she looks closely at the photo, also noticing their familiar appearances soon after.

“Yeah… You’re right! They do look like them!” She remarks.

“Chifuyu-nee… has a past connection with them…?”

“Most likely. Shall we go and ask her?”

“I suppose. C’mon!”

“Okay.”

It's basically going to be a "Oh, we only met once before." kind of situation.

Chifuyu has met Inami and Tsurugi before when they were still assistant instructors in the Katami family's dojo.

But she only met them that once, after that is where Inami disappeared to join Praxidike and Tsurugi immediately resigns from instructor position in the dojo soon after.

Then about a few years or so before Athena Bouclier, the attachment program for second-year Academy students at the Katami family dojo were introduced, which explains the presence of two photos.

One was taken before Inami and Tsurugi left the dojo, another was taken shortly before Athena Bouclier.

I guess. If you'd recall, towards the end of Athena Bouclier, Chifuyu kept mentioning that Inami's an "interesting" individual.

She pretty much senses a slight hint of familiarity from him but she has yet to realize that Inami was indeed one of the assistant instructors she met from back then.

On the other hand, Inami thought she knows it was him, and thought that was the rationale behind her decision to make him an instructor in the ISA.

Tatenashi: The mysterious lady that seems to be everywhere Ichika is snooping around(she's snooping too to find proof of Kanzashi's innocence)

Maya: criminal lawyer or judge

Honne: a frequent visitor who goes to meet an inmate(Kanzashi)

Chelsea: Same boat as Honne only for Cecilia instead.

Natasha Fairs: A wizened old inmate who gives Ichika most of the lowdown in the prison and is actually someone Chifuyu handled before but couldn't get out of prison(pretty much in the same situation as the girls).

Byakushiki personification: A little girl(victim of abuse) Ichika tried to save before(his first case) in his line of work. But she fell in love with him and her mind was too far gone when he'd reached her. She almost killed them both in a lover's suicide. She was the only one who died.

@ Demi - BS personifications is too sad:( How aboht just making her a new inmate? That way she didn't get abused yet. Also, Ichika is just a volunteer so he's not some wizened old Psych manager. In the beggining, Ichika feels like it's a drag to go to the prison, this changes when he gets to know the inmates and starts to risk his life for them. Also, what's Kanzashi's crimes?

Side note - Ichika and Tatenashi can partner up! They have the same goals.

Sorry, it just kinda happened :heh: It's the drawback of writing when I'm depressed :uhoh: I actually had to fight off the urge for the others.

Tatenashi won't trust Ichika so easily. She's been at this much longer than he has and has come in contact with many attempts on her life due to initially accepting help.

Ichika also realizes things are deeper than they seem and isn't sure who is one to trust(standard hardboiled noir stuff)

Byakushiki, I prefer her to be a memory. You can make it so that Ichika actually blocked out those memories as some sort of post trauma defense mechanism. As the events unfold, he remembers and understands, that for all his whining, he's doing this because he wants to. Clincher if Byakushiki is found in the closed files of the prison.

Or you could make her a ghost of someone who didn't survive the horrors of the prison.

Or you could make her a drug induced hallucination of Ichika when the bad guys try to drug him and make him forget whatever he dug up.

Kanzashi Sarashiki: convicted of homicide. Details of online bullying, slander causing in mental breakdown of victim.Kanzashi had notepad where she typed all the bad things she felt about the people that bullied her and told her she was unfitting of the family name. One day the contents of her notepad were posted online and people started seeing this and gathering around these words. Kanzashi didn't learn of the spread until multiple victims in her notepad died.

Te Big Bad here is the prison warden of the facility. This guy abuses the prisoners and most of his captures are people he's framed just because of some insane reason or one another. This means there's no chance for redemption for this guy.

Yup, that's what I'm planning:p Ichika knows her, but he couldn't stop the warden from taking her. This causes him to supress the memory and is one of the (unknown to him) main reasons he didn't want to go to the prison.

No, she just knows things about these people. Embarassing things she normally wouldn't use or say against them. She writes down all bad things and how much she hates these people on a wordprocessor and saves the file. She could never bring herself to delete it. A hacker gets into her files and takes it and posts it on the net. People see it and start to gather around it like trolls around a fresh meme.

Yes. The authorities assumed that this was Kanzashi's plot all along but actually Kanzashi was just trying to vent her anger and frustrations. She couldn't prove that she didn't upload the files and somehow her IP address was showing. Multiple hackers in service of the law testified that they traced the source all back to her.

Houki should still resent Tabane for making Houki's life hard. Because of Tabane's line of work(I'm assuming there's some danger.) as well as how she kept overstepping her bounds, she gained a lot of enemies and the Shinononos had to keep moving. She couldn't help Houki because there was no intention to cooperate. There was also the fact she's already a big name and that her investigating would cause too big a ruckus and might put her sister in danger.

If Ichika is a highschool student then his childhood he wanted to be like his sister Chifuyu who helped people. That one time was when he met byaku and thigns got bad and he got traumatized. Cue many years later he is drawn into the same place that haunts his nightmares.

With Ange's modifications, they are officially G2 when they appear in S2, barring some limitations like no shields and no means to rearm mid-air. So in a sense they are on more even footing with the villains in SHOOTiNG ST@RS, but just barely.

But with the White Knight being around G4, these planes are still no match for it. Nor do any of my IS that I use...

...well, except Vandam Form II (end S2) and Form III (end S5). But that's the right of the protagonist, right, to one day MSU until she is h4xx. :uhoh:



EDIT: I realize I posted only the 'newer' SMS characters. Even Kajie fought on the DART side back then in Infinite Sky. The older pilots in SMS will return as well. Especially Aniki. :D

Irish panted as he forced himself to stay conscious. He looked in front of him and saw the unmoving body of Autumn on the floor.

Finally, the person who had been haunting his nightmares and the one who had destroyed his life was dead. Killed by his own hand.

But at what cost?

Irish grunted as he felt pain envelop his body. His victory didn't come at no cost. In order to eat her, he had to push the skull suit to the absolute limit, more than the human body was capable of surviving.

And now he was about to pay the price.

His vision blurring, he turned to the side and saw the unconscious form of Maya and Tatenashi on the floor. They were knocked out earlier when they defended him from Arachne and it didn't look like they were going to wake up anytime soon.

Irish forced strength into his body once more and slowly dragged their bodies into the opposite wall before laying them down gently on them in a sitting positon. From there, they looked like they were just sleeping.

He felt his breath waning and he slowly sat between. Ever so gently, he took one of their hands in his and breathed a sigh of relief. He would allow himself to be selfish, just this once. With one last breath, he smiled softly and closed his eyes as a single tear rolled down his eye.

For the first, and last, time.

Maya woke up feeling like her head had been split open. She took a few deep breaths before looking around her.

The area was deathly quiet and there seemed to be no more enemies. She tried to stand before she felt her right hand being held softly. She looked to her right and saw Irish holding her right hand in his left and Tatenashi's left on his right.

Maya smiled softly and breathed a sigh of relief, it looked like they had all made it.

"Ri-kun, wake up, we have to go" She shook the boy gently, but he didn't respond.

After a few more seconds of shaking, Maya started to get frantic, "Ri-kun, wake up!" She started shaking the pale boy yet is eyes remained shut.

"No......no, no, no, no, no. Ri-kun, please wake up! You can't be gone! Not after everything that's happened!" Realization set in on her as tears threatened to spill from her eyes. There was nothing she could do now.

The boy she had seen grow up these past few months and who had been as close to her as a son was now dead.

well it's dependent on the ward. If it's just regular cell block you have at least five to ten guards controlling multiple levels. Something like a 10 prisoners is to 1 guard ratio I think?

The dangerous ones in solitary or special isolation wards get at least 1 personal guard.

A new idol unit created from SHOOTiNG ST@RS that appears end of S2 at Louise's graduation party before joining the front lines in S3. They are a group of mostly 1st years, with Karon in 2nd year as the front girl and sergeant-in-battle. Their name comes from their IS units, a set derived from the defunct [Super Valkyrie Project-X] which was yet another attempt by the Foundation to replace their VM units, but ultimately proved too unstable for massproduction.

Gou Karon - (Taketatsu Ayana) Uses the Vandam II (Called Form-Two). She formed Super Valkyrie after the turmultuous S2 guided by mental images projected from the SVX units she stopped Louise from stealing. Karon leads her own band both on stage and in a Arena 5v5 fight. And she holds the security key for the SVX girls to use Valkyrie Formation and combine their units into 1 massive Super Stratos. But to from her perspective, she's no leader, but just inspiring these new idols to find the strength within themselves to shine like stars.

Hisakata Yui - Uses V-1 Refined, a variable fighter IS with a helmet that resembles a Vandam. Considered as a younger clone of Karon by Riz, Yui is described as the unstoppable drill who never loses heart. Her fighting style is likewise as brutal, spin-slamming into her opponents at sonic speeds in fighter mode before transforming and dispatching them with revolver tonfas. Popular amongst gamers, the Idol of Games has a prominent presence online, and was an amateur internet idol before being scouted to an idol in real life. She owns consoles of every kind, regularly reviews new games as they appear, and is the only student who managed to survive Maximillan's impossible Protoss rushes in Starcraft. Likewise, she wears accessories inspired by consoles; most often a cross-cursor in her hair. She plays the bass in Super Valkyrie.

Erisa Weber - Uses V-2 Extended, a heavy assault IS covered head to toe in armor with shoulder mounted artillery cannons. Erisa is Erika's younger sister, who begins the story as a third-year middle school student (S1), but later enters ISA the following year in the idols' junior class 1-2 (S3). Unlike her older sister, Ui is mature, responsible, and brave, though she still shares a strong relationship with Erika and has a great deal of love and respect for her older sister. Despite being a year younger than Erika, she is nearly identical to her with her hair down and is even once able to fool the ST@RS. Her ISper ability is like Erika's allowing her to heft the bulky V-2 Extended with ease. She is also a fast learner like Erika, able to learn playing the guitar after a few days' practice. She takes particularly good care of the large Weber brood in Erika's absence and strives to look after her older sister at school even at the risk of her own health. She eventually joins the SHOOTiNG ST@RS at the end of the second season, becoming a guitarist of Super Valkyrie.

Akazuki Junko - Uses the V-3 Extended, an Armored Stratos platform developed from the Vandam Joaqium Orchiris. Junko is Erisa's, Yui's and Sumire's classmate and knew Yui and Sumire since middle school, though in different years. Her mother was a famous idol in the 2000s.

Sumeragi Sumire - Uses the V-Gun Extended, a long range sniper IS that utilizes stealth and speed to attack enemies from seemingly all directions. Sumire is a terribly shy girl, and is unnerved by many things, like dogs and men. She plays the synth in the band.

At least he didn't die alone. This was one of the original planned endings for Irish's scenario and it kind of cements that not everyone can get a happy ending. He at least died with the people he loved and he was happy.

Side note - What level are you in skyrim and what equips do you use?

@ Eratas: I'm a level 40 ritual werewolf redguard with two melee weapons. Depending on the enemy and what I feel like killing people with, I always vary the two.

Also, no one should ever die alone. Unless you turn into a zombie.

Another thing, I'm thinking of running a companion story by HoTM, you probably read the title in earlier pages.

"Through The Eyes of Another" is the HoTM universe thorugh the eyes of Ichika Orimura from his childhood through school, to ISA, to adulthood, to life as an old man.

It's literally his life's story.

It probably won't be written until HotM is finished though...

@ Rain - I don't want to make Shadow too long so I'm making definitive endings for them and their happy epilogues will carry on till they get kids. Ironically enough, both of Irish's and Ichika's kids are chick magnets. Ichika's is fully aware and a bit of a flirt while Irish's seems to inherit the idiot to romance gene:p

Side note - What equipment? I'm level 23 and have Daedric (legendary) armor, but I have no enchantments. Is your smithing and enchanting any good? Also, is there anyone in the game I can have Enchant for me?

@ Eratas: Anise's Cabin across the river from Riverwood, has an enchanting table in it's basement. I don't think you can get an NPC to enchant. You could try talking to Anise though. I don't enchant, since upon strict personal code, I don't use anything magic other than potions and items and my character's lycanthropy. My smithing is great though. I also have Daedric armor because I think it's cool.

And Kyuukai's future kid is a tsundere, while the other grows to be a mechanical gynoid teenager that develops Yuno Gasai yandere-ness to Ichika's and Irish's kids. :D

@ Rain - Ichika's kid depends on who he picks while Irish's two kids are a brother and sister pair. One's just like Yuriko and the other is Tat jr from Future Imperfect.

Side note - No emchantments? Then how do you handle those mages?

@ Eratas: I hit and hit until they die. I end up dodging spells from mages or blocking them with a shield. That's the only time I end up using a shield, also when I fight dragons. I have the spellbreaker shield, the one from "the only cure" quest.

Also, what do Ichika and Irish become in the future?

Kyuukai becomes a paraplegic housedad.

Um... the OC gets ability to generate energy barriers(separate from those built-in with the IS) and shoot concentrated energy blasts(requires charging. Longer the charge, bigger the blast). Gets 2-3 times the normal speed.

Ichika gets unlimited use of all his armaments and double ignition boost. Also gets a speed boost though only 25-75%

yeah, that's pretty much it. The units on their own are functional as reconnaissance drones. They don't have weapons but they are fast, agile and will probably never run out of power.

The support unit, though built to give Byakushiki an energy boost, can be connected to any IS. It's only being lent to Ichika on account that all the harem girls are down and out, including Tatenashi(Yes, I am serious on that last one)

it's a remote unit that can run via brainwaves or remote controlled. For Ichika, while the unit is disconnected, Croixas is the remote pilot.

EDIT: It can also run on AI but that decreases the stand alone performance a lot.

:heh: well it was either the hunt for tabane or the orbital genocide routes that the badguy would choose after he basically thrashes ISA and gets his 3rd/4th shift. The booster makes more sense in the orbital bombardment because it will allow him escape earth's atmosphere without getting shotdown(he can generate a shield and all.). The 100 bits make for an excellent beam spam battle in the hunt for tabane route:heh:

@ Rain - Irish and Ichika's are sadder due to the cauee of their death. Kyuukai just got killed. Irish and Ichika did theirs fully knowing what'll happen if they choose to do them. Irish overloaded his body and Ichika removed all his shield energy to be able to beat their respective antags and help their Nakama. That's why Irish spent his last moments jist dragging them to the wall and holding their hands.

Why would Tabane and Koneko be there? Besides, none of them eould be able to say goodbye since the others are knocked out. That's why Irish didn't bother and just tried to spend as much tike as possible with them before he died.

With raspy breath, I huff and puff as I try to keep myself alive. It hurts so much. But I endure. Ichika and Irish are enduring battle out there. Gunfire, energy beams fly around me, lighting up the evening sky with their luminescent colors.

I knew it would happen eventually.

I stood on the quiet street that was my childhood home. Sakura trees lined the street forward and back from here and there. I waited for something, sitting on the curb.

I look up. There, Ryuu Tokiwa held out his hand. I take it gingerly, standing myself.

"I'm proud of you boy."

I blink.

"And I'm proud of you too." Standing there, in all her childhood beauty, was Caitlin.

"So am I." Enlai.

"I too." Carlos.

Blink.

"Stop blinking, damnit, you're making me less proud." Mark.

"Yeah, you can stop that now." Dad.

I rub the back of my head sheepishly.

"Are you ready to go?" He asks.

"I don't know, that's up to you."

I turn back. "Koneko-"

A hand falls onto my shoulder. "She's got a good life ahead of her, I assure you. But this is your decision. Can you make it?"

I stop.

"Am I ready?"

"Are you?"

... Silence.

"I am."

He smiles. A small cart comes up, a young man pushing it.

"Ice cream, get your ice cream!" He called out.

Dad grins. "I'm in the mood for some! How about you?"

A childish grin washes over me. Dad smiles, wheeling me over to the cart. My much smaller hand quickly grabs my father's.

The young man pushing the cart smiles down at me. "What would you like."

"Vanilla please!" My childish voice chimes.

"Okay then." He scoops some into a cone, then hands it to me.

I smile brightly, then take a big lick.

Ice cream never was so sweet before. After all, it's one of my favorite things. I could never get tired of it. After all, it's Koneko's favorite food. I smile wider as white serenity washes over my soul.

After all, she'll always be my precious KIT.

This might be an actual ending for HoTM. But it is highly unlikely.

Anyway, the ending looks sad:( At least he gets a belated happy ending in a sense. Irish's just has him seeing black and fading.
