Yay for Veneficus Magi (Double Chappies!) for coming out.
On the process of readin' 'em when I hit the hay. xD

I'm still trying to think of a Fanfiction for Madoka Magica... Either a crossover or itself. :heh:

I tried that too for a while, but I couldn't reconcile with my refusal to write any character but Madoka as the main character. And as much as I like Madoka, there's only so much you can do with her without a lot of support from the other characters, and that's not really what I wanted to do.

Ehh, may try again sometime, but probably not.

There's a fanfic idea that I've been bouncing around in my head for awhile, but it's only now that I've felt up to actually attempting it.

The basic idea behind it is this - I would take the VN/Galge-style narrative, with its diverging romantic routes and numerous alternated endings, and apply it to Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

It would be wrote from the perspective of Madoka (1st Person narration), and would follow the anime narrative closely, except the reader could make choices (mostly verbal) at key moments to shift the story in different directions, and potentially move Madoka into romances with other major characters. Different choices can "raise" or "lower" Madoka's level of affection with different characters, and that can open up (or close off) potential yuri romantic routes. So it's important for readers to keep track of the choices that they make as that will make a big difference later on in the fanfic. You can, of course, read what the results of each choice is, but pay special attention to the results of the choice that you make, as those are the results that will stick with your initial read-through of the fanfic.

Anyway, I hope that this is a fanfic that Madoka Magica, yuri, and VN fans will all enjoy!

You can read it here (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=109633).

Another silly fanfic idea, with excerpt

Homu Front (Madoka-Homefront (http://homefront.wikia.com/wiki/homefront) crossover):

Loosely (very loosely) based off a parody game cover of the same title.

2018, or when ever the stupidly powerful North Korean-controlled Greater Korean Republic invades Japan.... To find a nasty surprise....

Excerpt:

The North Korean soldiers raised their weapons and prepared to open fire on the Desert Eagle-wielding girl. At that moment, Akemi Homura pressed her hand to the shield on the side of her arm. At once everything froze. A few of the North Koreans managed to get off shots before Homura froze time, only for their bullets to hang, suspended in midair.

Homura immediately got to work, placing an active M67 fragmentation grenade into the chest pocket of each soldier, before climbing into the Type 99 tank and placing a remote C-4 charge in the ammunition storage., before jumping out of and behind the vehicle and pressing her shield again. As time returned to normal, the soldiers looked around the area where Homura was. Homura drew the C4 detonator out of her "hammerspace" and detonated the C-4. The tank exploded in a great ball of flames as the active grenades in each soldier's pocket detonated, covering the area where the North Koreans had been in smoke and flames. Homura hid the C4 detonator in the "hammerspace" and walked away from the scene of devastation, silhouetted against the flames.

Here's a crazy Fanfic Idea, that might VERY well have actually occurred in the PMMM universe.

Simply put, a politically active and conscious student is contracted by an Incubator just before she enters an Ivy League University.

And she's a Libertarian.

Has anyone realized that the PMMM setting is frighteningly similar to either an anarchy, or a Libertarian society?

Has anyone realized that the PMMM setting is frighteningly similar to either an anarchy, or a Libertarian society?

What?

That makes no sense according to the setting as laid out in the anime.

1: All the evidence is that Incubators target emotional girls gong through puberty. 12 to 16. Not 18 year old Ivy League freshmen.

2: The PMMM setting never makes any political arguments. Nor is there anything to suggest that the setting is an anarchy, or libertarian, or democratic, or monarchical, or anything really. PMMM is completely silent on such matters.

3: There is nothing in Libertarianism to suggest that a Libertarian Magical Girl will be different in some consistent way from any non-Libertarian Magical Girl. Other than being Libertarian of course.

The upper boundary of contracting is not clear. But even if it was 16 years old, there are 16 years old out there with political positions. It's not out of the question there there have been anarchist and Libertarians alike that have been contracted over the years.

Secondly, I'm talking about the general features of the PMMM setting. Effectively, if you were to stop and think for a moment (or write a fic exploring the setting in detail), you'd realize that the PMMM society is very close to an anarchy in political structure.

Thirdly, I think you've misunderstood my question a little. It revolves around how a Libertarian Magical Girl would look at Puella Magi society, through Libertarian lenses.

Fourthly, it's precisely because of the vague nature of Puella Magi society that is why some fanfictions explore how the society might actually work in detail.

Fifthly, all I'm saying is that the PMMM setting has quite alot of striking similarities in some details to certain features of an anarchy at minimum.

Finally: It's rather absurd to postulate that the PMMM setting is a democracy or monarchy. Very absurd. An anarchy is a far more likely interpretation based on the (admittedly) limited view we have of the Puella Magi world.

Well, Episode 11 of PMMM showed a well-organized mass evacuation. I'm not sure if such a thing is even possible in a completely anarchistic society.

However, it's true that the world of PMMM seems pretty "loose" when it comes to regulations and law enforcement.

A girl in her early-to-mid teens (Mami Tomoe) lost her parents in a car accident, has no close relatives that can take care of her, and yet there's no hint whatsoever of any sort of Social Services agency stepping in to help out the girl. Nor does it seem like Mami was even ever approached about that car accident by anybody (such as police officers arriving on the scene of it).

Sayaka essentially goes missing for days without any sort of police involvement (i.e. one would expect Madoka to have been questioned about it by police officers within 12 hours of Sayaka confirmed missing). To some extent you can chalk this up to Sayaka having really irresponsible legal guardians/parents, but even then it's a bit much.

Nothing in the world seems blocked off to the general public, or even blocked off to minors. If you look at where some of these fights took place, a lot of them seem to be pretty heavy-duty industrial areas.

Still, how much of this is due to careful intentional design, and how much of this is due to Gen just not caring about these minute details and/or Shinbo just going wild with scenery/settings (the Monogatari series is similar) is up to debate. But one thing's for sure, the world of PMMM is a fair bit looser, regulation/government oversight-wise than what many of us are accustomed to where we live.

So, yeah, I can kind of imagine an Incubator contracting with a young libertarian and she wishing for a world with fewer rules and regulations.

@novalysis

After a further explanation I think I understand now that you are not using society to refer to the human society in which Madoka takes place, but rather the the society of Magical Girls separate and apart from the rest of human society.

Well duh. Of course it's an anarchy. Not only is it a society with no adults, but each individual member has enormous combat power and an extreme incentive (survival) to compete for scare resources. Additionally, the members of this society have a very short life cycle. The evidence seems to be the both Kyouko and Mami were rare magical girls for surviving so long. Kyouko is estimated to have been a magical girl for a couple years. Mami perhaps a year longer. (This fits with being contracted in middle school and Mami being in high school).

It's an inherently unstable society. A libertarian Magical Girl would not be any more interesting then any other girl who thinks a lot about government or politics. I don't see how libertarian ideas would help in any way (and I say this as a libertarian myself).

More interesting might be to take a character like Mami and give her some kind of motivation to institute order in the Magical Girl society. That is in fact peripherally explored in this fan fiction: To The Stars (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7406866/1/To_the_Stars)

Mami is the natural pick because she has the following advantages:

1: Mami has a slower rate of "mana" consumption compared to other magical girls (as Kyubee revealed to Sayaka in episode... 5 or 6 I think it was). This would allow her to spend more time and energy on forming a more complex society.

2: Mami enjoys society, she is not a loner by nature.

3: Mami is a motherly mentor figure and likely to be persuasive at getting new magical girls to join.

It's actually not surprising that any Magical Girl team we see form tends to be around Mami.

However, Mami lacks the ruthlessness needed to force others to obey her. Nor does she recognize the need for "farming" familiars to produce more grief seeds, and you would need an excess supply of food before building a society.

Kyouko might have some of the needed ruthlessness, and so she might be another pick to build such a conceptual Magical Girl society around. However, Kyouko is a natural loner, and lacks the persuasive ability or vision.

So either you'd need a character who blends Mami and Kyouko's traits together, or you'd need something like a team up between Mami and Kyouko.

That might be an interesting AU. Mami and Kyouko at their first meeting. They team up and instead of breaking apart over ideals, Mami compromises her principles to "farm" familiars. Mami would be in charge of things like recruitment, training, and peacemaking. Kyouko would be in charge of enforcement, and distribution of grief seeds.

Essentially recreating a family unit with Mami as the mother and Kyouko as the father, and other girls as adopted daughters. Assuming they were able to determine the truth about Soul Gems and Grief Seeds they could then start planning a way to manage their resources.

This team would need to expand it's territory to increase the number of grief seeds being brought in. By working in a team of hunters they could expend less magic during battles. The main difficulty would be that since less Magical Girls are becoming witches they would need to lean heavily on farming familiars. That means they would probably have to determine how and when witches spawn familiars, how to encourage spawning even, and to hold off on harvesting the witches until the familiars are spawned.

This would increase the bad things happening to humans. Something that I think Mami would have a very hard time with.

To the Stars is a distant future of such a scenario. Puella Magis have long been united into a single global organization with all the essential functions of a state.

I don't think Mami Tomoe has sufficient ruthlessness though to go beyond a single team or alliance of teams. Homura on the other hand probably does, but lacks the diplomatic tack.

Actually, I think I'd repost a more coherent proposal on the Libertarian is contracted idea I put up on Spacebattles.

Ok I admit I wrote this quite late into the night, having been struck by a sudden plot bunny inspired by this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QDv4sYwjO0

Now, I'm not making the point that Libertarians want Somalia (that's straw-manning), but I'd seriously imagine that Incubators wouldn't have a hard time convincing a young, devoted Libertarian Activist to contract, simply by selective advertisement.

The main idea was that an Incubator will contract a Libertarian by advertising certain aspects of Puella Magi society. (No taxation, no regulations, minimum government, etc - in other words Freedom, except the need to feed yourself.)

The Libertarian will be sufficiently powerful enough not to die in months, but over the next few years, will be forced to thoroughly re-evaluate her political positions, having been thrown into a society where no government exist at all.

An Urban Fantasy where Life is Solitary, Poor, Nasty, Brutish, and Short. All adjectives that I think are all too apt for Puella Magi Society.

I am aware, that Libertarianism covers a spectrum of ideological principles. So the big question is from which part of the spectrum she comes from. Does she believe in something closer to Anarchism, or in "limited" government, whatever that might mean to her? Needless to say, being thrown into a society stripped of all accouterments of government, I'd assume she'd be force to re-evaluate her position, especially if she is sufficiently powerful enough to be able to afford to observe Puella Magi Society from a distant society.

Especially if this is the Post-Madoka system.

In the end, of course she dies in combat.

All Puella Magi do, prematurely.

But while she live, she'd be making some interesting proposals and debates on whether the Puella Magi system NEEDS more government, as oppose to less that all Libertarians normally would argue for.

Whether or not our heroine is correct, is deliberately left very ambiguous. We'll never know.

On a final note, for this story to work, it has to take place under the demon system. The Witch System amounts to cannibalism.

Here's a fanfic (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6968252/1/Until_We_Meet_Again) I've been working on for some time, crossing over with Sailor Moon.

I've seen pictures of these two fandoms crossed together, but as far as I'm aware no stories. I was inspired to write this after watching the first three PMMM episodes, which, funny enough, for some reason I can't recall, I thought Mami had...more than questionable motives in store for Madoka and Sayaka. Adding Sailor Moon to the mix was an afterthought and expanded from there.

Now I haven't seen the last two episodes, though I know - at the very least - what occurs. Also, because of the timeline these two fandoms are set in (Sailor Moon in 1992, PMMM somewhere in 2000s-2010s) I've retconned them to fit in a modern setting.

I can't say my characterizations will be spot-on, so just to be on the safe side expect moments of potential OOC.

Hope you guys and gals enjoy it. There's still more to come for this fic (currently writing an "intermission" and Chapter 14).

Here's a crossover (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8070359/1/Puella_Magi_Burial_Ground) I wrote recently with Pet Sematary. What, Pet Sematary?, I hear you saying. Well, for one thing, Urobuchi has actually cited Stephen King among his influences (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2012-01-29/madoka-magica-writer-inspired-by-stephen-king-hidamari-sketch-nanoha-cossette). So I was feeling bored and jotted down a little crossover (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8283676/1/Ripple_Effect) story with Back to the Future.

Honestly, given the whole time-travel theme, I'm surprised I was only the first to do a story crossing with that. (Yes, I have seen some fanart with Homura and a DeLorean, and I know BTTF isn't the only time travel movie out there (the Dr. Who crossover section is pretty big), but BTTF is one of my favorite movies, so there.)

Also, I like the idea of the clash of BTTF's silly, whimsical world with Madoka's bleak world. Enjoy!

Here's a summary.

Madoka gave her life to give all of the magical girls something very powerful. That something, was hope. Now they can live in less fear, or so they believed. The demons are multiplying and something sinister is coming. How will those left behind choose to deal with the situation? Homura X Mami.

Hi, Narrator 1 here.

For the past year-and-a-half, I've been working on a Madoka/Index crossover fic called "To Aru Mahou Shoujotachi no Monogatari", starring mainly Index's title character and Homura. I've already posted it in the Index forums, and now I feel confident enough in the end product to post it here as well.

Enjoy. (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8056862/1/To-Aru-Mahou-Shoujotachi-no-Monogatari)

Does anyone know the status of this author? I would like to confirm my suspicions that due to his track record and how there is a 4 month gap since his last update that the author either has it on definite drop or something happened IRL. Hate to see something with this much effort to be dropped especially at a cliff hanger note but I would prefer knowing it being dropped than never knowing,

My personal reaction to that story has been like a pendulum. When I first read chapter one, something about it was off and made me dislike it. Several weeks later, I decided to go through it anyway. It seems to be picking up steam as the girls geared up to fight the demon prince. I thought maybe my first impression was wrong.
Then he revealed the four-year shelf life of magical girls, then the character killings and the timelooping...
Now, personally, I hope he doesn't continue, because it feels like he's driving the story off a cliff, like another long PMMM fic.

I have a story ongoing with my friends which is over 1000 pages long already.
I will release it sooner or later, but I don't know where.
It plays in an alternate timeline (ignoring the fact Madoka made that wish).

Its an ongoing RP with my friends on MSN. If anyone thinks this is an awesome idea and wants to join, you can PM me.

Requirements are:
MSN(For the RP and contacts) and Steam(Optional, since we all do stuff on steam often, too)
Your undying loyalty to the RP and to your new friends (us).
ALOT of freetime and willingness to spend it with us.
No random AFKing all the time.
Fast response time.
Decent RP skills.
Not expecting amazing sexual RP and stuff. This is Madoka Magica. It is tradition to "imply" these things subtly only.

@andyjay: So the chapter names are based on how many days are left before Gretchen destroys the whole world.. Man, it'll be interesting to read, but a bit too hard to understand since there's a lot of characters.. :heh:

A story based after the events of Homura fighting alone in the PSP game would work.. Kyouko's alive, right?

I just wanted to stop by to let people following my work know that I'm working on Chapter 6, which keeps Homura as the point of view focus but also continues to involve Index as a primary player. Chapters 4 and 5 (which were originally one chapter but had expanded in word count until it eclipsed the first three put together) involved Homura and the circumstances that led her to Academy City, but Chapter 6 will pick up where Chapter 3 left off.

All of the above was largely a copy-paste of a post from the Index forums.

Became kinda bored yesterday, created a "Hollywood-plot summary" version of Madoka. Part of it anyways. :heh:
Madoka=Molly Thompson
Houmra=Holly Akemi
Mami=Madeline (Maddy) Stranton
Sayaka=Susan Fierro
Kyoko=Katherine (Katie) Ashworth

In the series continuity, mysterious creatures from outer space target troubled girls and young women, allowing them to make a wish and sometimes to escape from a crime if they are unable to. In exchange, the girl becomes a magical girl, a girl tasked with fighting witches, dark beings responsible for a heavy amount of depression, suicide and crime in the world.
The movie starts with the police finding the corpse of a young woman inside an abandoned subway station; her body, however, is not covered with any signs of blood or harm.

The scene then flashes back to 22 years ago; Ryan Thompson, a Canadian software engineer, meets a Russian ballet dancer, Anna Donvencheko, in a Las Vegas casino. Ryan loses all of his travel money in a roulette game after a drunken gamble; Annie, frustrated that her language issues has made it hard for her to gain a boyfriend, gives Ryan five thousand dollars on the condition that Ryan agrees to build a relationship with Anna. While Ryan refuses, their bonds eventually become closer and they decide to marry; the scene then flashes to a Vancouver hospital 2 years later, where Anna gives birth to the couple’s daughter, Molly. However, Anna “mysteriously disappears” on Molly’s 5th birthday, with her corpse found two weeks later, with no signs of murder or suicide. When Molly turns 15, Ryan gets shot in the head by an anonymous Italian man; Molly then enters the care of her aunt Allison and lives with her and Allison’s adopted son, Jermaine.

Meanwhile, other scenes show the backstories of other magical girls in three different locations; Madeline “Maddy” Stranton, the daughter of a rich oil tycoon, kills her friends and her family in a drunken party bus crash on the mountain roads of Aspen, Colorado. Molly, while lying on the ground about to die, makes a contract with a mysterious white creature calling himself “Kyubey” in order to save herself from dying. Maddy is then declared innocent because investigators declared that another driver was to blame; however, due to the incident, no one in her community trusts her, causing her extreme loneliness and finally, Maddy moves away from her home and becomes a teacher in Southern California; Katherine “Katie” Ashworth, the daughter of a pastor, robs a bank when her father’s church in Waco, Texas goes bankrupt due to the lack of an audience. Her getaway van runs out of gas when Kyubey offers her a wish that will allow Katie to escape and her father’s church to prosper. For the next few days, the church became swamped with people; however, her father soon finds out that this is mostly due to Katie’s mind control, and kills his entire family with the exception of Katie, who escaped. Holly Akemi, a Japanese girl who immigrated to America with her parents at the age of 7, hangs her abusive boyfriend in her bathroom in a San Francisco apartment 12 years later, which was later ruled as a suicide. However, Holly soon finds out that she has serious lung cancer with not much time left to live; as Holly lies down in a hospital bed, Kyubey offers her a wish to rewrite history and cure herself. All three girls are shown in a Los Angeles city park, sitting on a bench; while all three girls are sitting on the same bench, they try to sit away from each other as much as possible. Holly then angers Katie with a comment about making stupid wishes, and Katie then angers Maddy by making the exact same comment. The three girls get into a heated argument.

The opening scene for the movie starts, with the song “Connect” played over scenes from the Madoka Magica anime.

In the present day, Molly Thompson is sitting in a café near UCLA along with her friends Susan Fierro and Lauren Brown; Lauren tells the other two girls that she has to leave early due to an internship with her father’s multi-million dollar company. Susan asks Molly to follow her to the mall. The girls, however, suddenly walk into a section of the mall under construction, and Molly hears a voice in her head; she soon finds Kyubey lying injured on the ground. Holly then shows up, threatening Molly with death if she doesn’t let go of Kyubey, but Susan shoots Holly with a tranquilizer gun...

Hi guys. Would you say this fanfic (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6816395/1/Everyone-Dies) is relatively in-character given the context?

Allow me to post the victory speech from Mami Tomoe's Saimoe 2011 performance. It doesn't hurt to rewind to a couple years ago and wonder how far Japan has gone. It's still an awesome place. Here's the 2012 Saimoe Prime Minister. Note that this doubles as a parody of Barack Obama's 2008 remarks at Grant Park in Chicago.

Hello, Mitakihara. Good morning.

If there is anyone out there who doubts that Japan is the center of the greatest animation ever conceived, who still wonders if the young women that dominate our lives are relevant in the interests of this era, who still questions the power of its dedicated supporters regardless of gender, tonight is your answer.

It's the answer told by users that hailed from humble homes to large universities, from big business complexes to temples and houses of worship, from the freezing north of Sapporo to the sultry warmth of Okinawa, who believed that the power of choosing a female face to lead this country will be the key to success and prosperity.

It's the answer spoken by young and old, salarymen and office ladies, magical girls and espers, tsundere and yandere, time travelers, shrine maidens, maids, cats, squids, Strike Witches and succubi, the normal and the abnormal...Japanese men and women who sent a message to an ever-evolving society that guides this planet that we are not weaboos or otaku or nerds...we are Japanese, and we will always, always love all things moe.

It's the answer that has been guided in the past by a driving force in the form of power pop-such powerful, sweet melodies-and shift the focus to the cause of those who are blessed with unbelievable powers, who have pure intentions to spread the message of a brighter tomorrow.

It has taken one year of reckoning, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in the tenth year of the 2channel Anime Saimoe Tournament...the Puella Magi have arrived in Japan.

I had a heart-to-heart talk with Sakura Kyouko-san earlier today. She is someone that I know very well, is one of my juniors, and is a confidante of Miki Sayaka-san, who was defeated earlier in this tournament by Kaname Madoka-san. She is a warrior by nature, who endured a difficult past to turn her life around and become an experienced fighter with so much accomplished. She now stands with me tonight in solidarity, and I look forward to working with her and all the Puella Magi under Kaname-san's guiding hand in the coming months ahead.

I want to thank Miki-san herself for being gracious in defeat. She is also a proud fighter and is fiercely loyal to our cause and our message. History has made us friends. Our quarterfinal match made us equals. And this victory makes us sisters-in-arms.

I would not be standing here tonight without the unyielding support of someone who has been a great ally to us and someone who we can count on., Akemi Homura-san. She fought a valient battle against Mikoto Misaka, but we have avenged her defeat this morning. Our victory will no doubt lift your spirits and allow you to fight at your best from this point forward.

To the dessert witch, Charlotte, who may have helped me get over the top with the "Mogu Mogu" phenomenon that spread worldwide...I forgive you now, and I thank you for your solidarity.

To Kaname-san, I thank you for reaching out to me and giving me a second chance to prove my worth. And I repaid you in kind by winning this tournament not just for you, but for the Puella Magi who are out there doing good in the world. I am forever in your debt.

And although my parents are not here with me, they are watching, and they are proud of what I have accomplished. They mean so much to me, and I wouldn't be here without them. Mom and Dad, I love you both.

But of all those who I would like to thank, I want to thank you, the voting public. Each and every one of you.

You see, I was never the likeliest candidate to win this tournament. I was given a chance by Kyubey to become a Puella Magi. Had I not elected to go with my wish, which was to connect myself with the life I love and to appreciate it the fullest, I wouldn't be standing here speaking in front of you this morning. But I chose to, and I came to terms with my mission. After Kaname-san brought me back to life, I regained a new sense of purpose, and I realized that I am no longer alone in the world.

As fate would have it, there were many citizens tracking these events online and offline, and that is when my campaign started to take shape. From Mitakihara City, to the 23 Special Wards of Tokyo, to the restaurants and shopping malls of Osaka, and the playgrounds and schools of Yokohama, my story and our message spread.

And our message was preached by men and women of all different walks of life who made the decision to log into Futaba Channel, wait for their code, and then make their decision over the course of months and rounds; and it grew in strength thanks to those who swore allegiances to other worthy candidates but ultimately chose our cause as their final answer; from the millions of Japanese who campaigned on different internet forums and even non-Japanese who debated and professed their love and loyalties and proved that more than a decade later, the Anime Saimoe Tournament is more than just a popularity contest; it is a celebration of the moe aspect that makes anime special. This is your victory.

Now I know that you didn't do this just because Puella Magi Madoka Magica dominated the Newtype Anime Awards or won Animation Kobe, and you didn't do it just because this is our show with Kaname-san's name on it. You did this because our message transcends all others. As we celebrate this morning, we all understand that there will be other shows that will be airing, with new faces, new mentalities, and new outlooks on this thing we call life. There will be new girls who want to follow my lead-our lead, I should say. They want to be the new It Girl, just like Nakano Azusa-san was last year. There are others that will become the new "MAI WAIFU" while for others it's a "DO NOT WANT."

I may not be able to spread my message to every corner of the world-indeed, there is a contest that involves characters from shows in the past, whose spirit and legacy I have the utmost respect for. But I am not one who is willing to back down from a challenge, and so I will seize the opportunity to reach out to those who need my guidance. That has been my promise since day one, and that is my promise today.

There will be those who will not agree with my policy as the champion of this tournament, and not all fans will agree on who is better or who is best. But I was an honest person before I took on my current role, and I remain entrenched in being honest with those I know and those I watch over. I ask you all, who now are aware of the cause that we as Puella Magi fight under, live under, and suffer under...to spread the message: whether by social networks, word-of-mouth, blogs, news articles. Even a simple shout from the rooftops will suffice.

What began seven months ago cannot end on this cool autumn night. This victory only announces our arrival, but it is only a foundation for greater opportunities that will come calling for us and for you.

Let us summon a new purpose, of responsibility and trust where each of us encourages to take a stand, but with a clear, ethical conscience. Let us remember that fake voting may lead a candidate to success early, but could set that candidate up for defeat later, and that running clean, fair races is the only solution that is best for this country and the 2channel BBS.

Let us realize that those who try to invade the planet with their own message cannot try to imitate those who have gone before them and were successful in their own right. Let us remember that it was a main magical girl that won this 2channel Anime Saimoe Tournament ten years ago, a feat that has now been successfully replicated twice. And while the Puella Magi has won a great victory this morning, we do so with a measure of humbleness and confidence to ease the minds of those voters whose own confidence and faith in this competition have been shaken irrepairably. To those in Japan whose support I have yet to earn: I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices, I need your faith, and I will be your Goddess and Saimoe Prime Minister too.

And to all those watching across the Pacific in the Americas; to those across the Sea of Japan, our brothers and sisters in Korea; and to those in Australia, Africa and Europe: your belief in us has been intangible yet invaluable, and so your prayers have been answered with a new dawn of Saimoe leadership now at hand.

To those demons who are born out of curses: we will defeat you. To those who seek cuteness and awesomeness: we support you. And to all those who have wondered if the people who organized this tournament had lost their minds by not allowing non-Japanese IPs to vote, we proved once more that this has always been Japan's tournament, and it will only be the voice of the Japanese people that determines a competition that features characters that have large eyes, small noses, flat faces, tall irises, bodies 5.7 heads tall, thin limbs, large heads, colorful hair, bangs over eyes like myself and those standing before you, a neotenized face, ahoge, and may not be perfect in nature in terms of personality, but don't need to be because we all are moe and we Saimoe now.

That is the true genius of Japan - that Japan believes in Saimoe now. Our country is the home of the most beautiful women ever to be created. And what we have already created today will pave the way for those that will come forth into the world tomorrow.

Look around you. You see the faces of those who are blessed to be alive for another year. So many things have happened in this world that have prevented people like you from accomplishing this honor, young as you may be or old as you already are.

Think about what this country means to you, and think about those around the world who think about what their world means to them. And so the message becomes engrained in your mind. You are not alone.

When the strife in Western Asia and Northern Africa reached critical mass, you saw the people rise against their leaders and call for change through the power of revolutions. You are not alone.

When the most calamitous natural disaster ended the lives of more than 15,000 of your friends, neighbors and loved ones, you saw the global community reach out to you with open arms and help you get back on your feet, and you became stronger than ever. You are not alone.

When destiny came calling in London, you watched as a young man of royalty, in the prime of his life, take the hand of his beloved in marriage in one of the world's most celebrated houses of worship in the Anglican Communion. You are not alone.

You were there to see a new country form in Africa, an American space shuttle program complete its run over decades, two countries in South Asia make peace with one another and floodings sink Thailand and Cambodia to their knees. You are not alone.

You helped those who suffered a catastrophe like yours in Turkey and watched two of the cruelest men in the world meet a bloody end in the quest of freedom and peace.

And tonight, in this contest, you waited for your code and casted your vote online, because, whether in one year or ten, through the good and the bad, you know how Japan and the world can change. You are not alone.

Japan, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there are other shows that will keep the Anime Saimoe Tournament fire burning. So this morning, let us ask ourselves: if we can be so lucky to be living here, enjoying a free world-a free and peaceful world, what will the future hold and what new messages and causes will await us?

This is our chance to reignite that fire. This is our moment. This is our time to shine, so that now, in this, the year 2011, in spite of anything that happens in this world or in your backyard or in front of you on your television set...don't forget. Always somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember her...

You Are Not Alone. Thank you. Madoka blesses you, and may Madoka bless Japan and the world.

And now, here is the transcript of the victory speech by Madoka Kaname following her victory over Sayaka Miki just minutes ago. (This is also a parody of Barack Obama's 2012 remarks in Chicago.)

"Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone. Tonight, in this, the 12th edition of the most storied Saimoe Prime Minister election ever contested where such contests are serious business for many people and fans, the task of keeping the moe dream alive for our country moves forward.

It moves forward because of each and every one of you. It moves forward because you believed that hope, love and justice are the deciding factors in making our nation better, and that perseverance and determination transform hope into success and achievement. From despair to ecstasy: that is the belief that while each and every one of us has their own favorite, we are a Japanese family, and we rise and fall as one nation and people, on the faith of the one person we support.

Tonight, on the 23rd day of November 2013, Heisei 25, you, the voters of 2channel, reminded us that while the road to fulfillment has been hard and our journey has been full of suffering, we have picked ourselves up, dusted ourselves off and got back to fighting the good fight and finishing the race. And thus, we know deep down inside that for this great country the world calls Japan, the best is surely yet to come.

So now I want to thank every Japanese man and woman who participated in the Anime Saimoe Tournament and this general election...whether you voted for the first time or had to find a place to vote for a long time due to IP restrictions. We're working on that; bear with us. Whether you went on sites like Livedoor or 2channel, whether you were on foreign sites that covered this event or tweeted results as they came, whether you held a Madoka Kaname sign or a Sayaka Miki sign, you made your voice heard and, in the process, you made a difference so give yourselves a hand.

Minutes ago, I spoke with Sayaka-chan and I congratulated her on a well-fought, well battled race. We have fought fiercely, online and offline, but it's only because we believe in this country and you so much we would give our lives up for you. Sayaka-chan has given back to Japan through her advocacy of the Saimoe movement and the support of the anime and manga industry and her legacy is what we honor and applaud tonight. Thank you, Sayaka-chan, and best of luck in the future.

Now in the weeks ahead, I look forward to talking with Sayaka-chan on ways to improve this country and promote the importance of pop culture and the interests of youth so that we can move Japan forward. I want to thank Toki Onjouji, the outgoing Saimoe Prime Minister, who has been an ally of mine and who has been a staunch supporter of my cause. I want to thank Kyouko Sakura, who is also a strong advocate of what I do and who is a powerful, influential person fueled by faith and ideals.

Of course, Mami Tomoe is a person that I look up to, and she has also run a solid race in her own right. To my father Tomohisa, my mother Junko and my younger brother Tatsuya: tonight, your daughter and older sister will lead Japan forward next year. I am ready to do my best.

But the one person I want to really thank for being the special someone who saved me and really made me who I am: a person who loves life and cherishing true happiness is the key to my happiness, Homura Akemi. Homura-chan, you don't realize how much I love you but maybe you do. I am here to return these feeling tenfold because I am just beginning to appreciating the things you do for me. I want us to be together, to experience the future together, even though I am an angel and you are a devil. That only makes our bond stronger than steel. Let us enjoy the time we now have, with you forever at my side. But I will also say that we have class on Monday, so don't go crazy with the things you like to do for love.

Moderation and discipline are important to living a happy life and help keep selfish love balanced with selfless charity and service to others. That is another message that I brought with me on this campaign, and speaking of which...

Here's to the best campaign team and volunteers in the history of Saimoe. You're the best. You're the best ever. I've had new faces join me on this journey too, and I've had familiar faces join me once again. All of you, however, are part of my family. So no matter what you do or where you go from this point forward, you will remember this night, and the history we made together, and the life-long appreciation of a grateful goddess, now Saimoe Prime Minister Thank you for believing in me, though the dark valley and into the shining hills of Yuri Valhalla.

This victory is for you. You filled me with hope and gave me love this entire time, and I will always in debt for everything that you have done and all the hard word you put it to make this a reality. Again, this victory is for you.

It's not a secret everyone: Saimoe campaigns can sometimes seem ridiculous, despite being serious business, and you know that there has been talk by many critics that this tournament has declined in terms of popularity and relevance and that this year has been dominated by one part, the Puella Magi part. Allow me to counter with this: if you ever get the chance to talk to people in Mitakihara, in Kasamino, in Tokyo, in Osaka, in Sapporo, in Hiroshima, in Nagoya, in Niigata, in Yokohama, in Fukuoka, in every internet cafe and school, in every shopping mall and local gathering spot for fans and enthusiasts...you're going to experience something else, something magical.

You're going to hear the determination in the voice of a Madoka Magica fan who has an extensive figurine collection, is a college student and is looking to be rich through the intervention of his favorite heroes.

You'll hear the pride in the voice of a volunteer awash in rose, pink and white who's spreading the good word about hope and love and is boosted by the news that his significant other of a few years got promoted.

You'll hear the deep patriotism and pride in the voice of a fan of one of our main contributors, Gen Urobuchi, who works at the desktops late to ensure voters have a legit code, because no one needs to be turned away from making their voice heard. No one. The patriotism and pride comes from knowing that this is Japan's tournament, Japan's time to shine, Japan's time to make itself proud of its moekkos.

And that's why we do this. That's why we're here. Deny obvious, uphold the inane, that's how we roll. That's what Saimoe can be. That's why this tournament matters. It's not in decline, it goes on and remains part of Japan's cultural cloth. It's big and important. Saimoecracy in an island nation of 126 million can be noisy and messy and annoying and teeth-grinding and full of ragequit and shitposting. We know this. We've been there. And every one of us has our own beliefs and tastes. When we go through the tough times that we have gone through, when we make big decisions as an online community and a country, it naturally stirs passions, stirs up burning desire, controversy, chaos and madness. It can be suffering.

And that will not change after tonight, and why should it? After all, these arguments, these debates on who is best girl is a sign of us being a free country, free to voice out as who is better and who is your No. 1 and my No. 1. We must never forget that we speak, people in other countries are risking their right to sound off on their opinions on matters involving the world and make their own choices, like you have done tonight.

But despite all of our difference in opinions, most of us, if not all, share certain hopes for the future of Japan. We want our young men and women to embrace the ideals of those young maidens who have the type of personality they can relate to and be motivated by.

We want to be a country that has strong relations with the United States. I hold dual citizenship and I have also talked with Mr. Barack Obama, the President of the United States of America, about his plans to help improve the situation in his country. It also helps that I can also speak perfect English. But that's a different story. The USA is our top ally, and we want to help improve global security through our special partnership.

We take pride in investing in many concerns in the world. We possess 13.7% of the world's private financial assets, the 2nd largest in the world, at an estimated $14.6 trillion and as of 2013, 62 of the Fortune Global 500 companies are based here in Japan.

We remain one of the top economies worldwide and as Saimoe Prime Minister, I expect that it will remain that way. We are the world's 3rd largest automobile manufacturing country, we have the largest electronics goods industry, and we are often ranked among the world's most innovative countries leading several measures of global patent filings. The best high-tech and precision goods, such as optical instruments, Hybrid vehicles, and robotics, are found here in this country.

Our country will not be burdened by debt, weakened by inequality, or threatened by a warming planet, so long as I am in charge. I want this country to leave its legacy as a safe country that believes in peace, self-defense and not initiating conflicts but preventing them through our Self-Defense Forces.

And I want to be a country that lives on with confidence beyond war, and use the ideals of peace and hole to provide freedom and dignity for those in world that are disadvantage. I am here to reach out to everyone and listen to the concerns of you, because I believe that compassion and tolerance are just a couple of fundamental parts in modern-day Japanese society.

I want to reach out to the young, struggling otaku who may have a dakimakura of me, who needs a well-paying job, and wants to be a salaryman. I want to reach out to the young girl in Okinawa who wants a life beyond the islands and find a family and a future in whatever calling she answers to. I want to help young people move forward with their lives and be the best citizens they can be. That's my mission, that's my calling.

Now, as you all know too well, some people will disagree to the point of being on the edge about how the road will be paved, how to get to the promised land. For more than a decade, progress comes in spurts and short hops. It's never a straight line or a smooth path; it's a rocky road filled with curves.

That said, the fact that we have common hopes and dreams won't end the debate as to which girl is more moe or who is a more deserving leader to help solve Japan's problems, as well as build consensus and compromise to move this Saimoecracy forward. However, the common bonds of hope and love is the foundation. Our economy has rebounded, the wars are ending. We're on the up and the world is getting better. Of course, Homura-chan is responsible for a good deal of this, but that's a different story.

But as I want to reiterate, even if you voted for a different magical girl or a different Saimoe character, or voted for the old guard of the previous session, for example, I have listened and learned from you and you've helped me become the Saimoe Prime Minister I am today. Through your stories and struggles, our party returns to the Saimoe Prime Minister office more determined, more inspired and more serious about the work that we need to do and the future that awaits us all.

Tonight you voted for hope and love, not tanoshii and futuristic players. You elected us to focus on your issues and not ours. So in the coming weeks and months, I look forward to reaching out to many people, including International Saimoe League Champion Ruri Gokou, to meet the challenges we can only solve as one. We have an Olympics coming up in a few months, followed by a World Cup. I expect our country to do well at those two events. And when my term is over, I look forward to helping make the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics a success. The organizing committee for those games has my full support and blessings.

As for you, your work is not over. The role of voters in our Saimoecracy does not end with your vote tonight. Japan, as you must understand, has never been about what can be done for us but what can be done for us together through the promotion of many interests, including pop culture, anime and manga. That's the greatest gift to the world concerning this country: anime and manga.

We are one of the wealthiest nations in the world, but it's not the wealth that make us rich. We have one of the strongest self-defense forces in the world, but that's not what makes us strong. Our many universities—Toudai, Waseda, Keio, Kyoto, Tokyo Tech, Tohoku, Kyushu, Nagoya, Hokkaido and Tsukuba, among others—are world-class in their own right but that not what keeps the world full of knowledge and skills.

What makes Japan amazing and exceptional...is its culture. Popular culture, that is Japanese popular culture not only reflects the attitudes and concerns of the present but also provides a link to the past. Japanese cinema, cuisine, television programs, anime, manga, and music all developed from older artistic and literary traditions, and many of their themes and styles of presentation can be traced to traditional art forms. This is what makes Japan the greatest nation on earth. Our pop culture is celebrated in all corners of the world through conventions and cosplay, through sales of anime Blu-Ray discs, figurines, plushies, posters, manga volumes, doujinshi and other clothes and sundries.

The power of cuteness and moe, combined with a spirit of hope and love, is what has made me confident about the future of Japan. I've seen it at work. I've seen it around the world. You just can't dislike this nation and its people. I've talked with people in the anime industry about new trends and new ways to help develop it further and help it move forward. I've seen it in people in America at conventions like Anime Expo and Otakon and Comic-Con International where cosplaying is celebrated. I've seen Japanese pop culture celebrated in Europe and Africa and Latin America, where I would check in and see the latest trends in popularity. I would listen to the debates on which famous anime girls are better and which girls have some work to do to earn the fans' trust. I've seen it. I've seen it all.

And I witnessed, before my eyes not too long ago, the story of how I was given my second chance at living the life I now love. As I floated in to purify Homura-chan's soul gem, she grabbed my hand, took my power and liberated me from the grasp of the Incubators.

I realized, days later, that she what she did wasn't wrong, but it was something that would allow me to come back to my family and friends and value the time I spend with them. The importance of life and looking out for oneself was something that I learned to appreciate.

I know that every Japanese citizen wants to have a bright future and a sense of optimism when they head into the real world. That's what we're all about. That's the country I'm so excited and honored to lead as your Saimoe Prime Minister.

And tonight, despite everything we've been through, through all the suffering and frustration we've had over the past several months, I've never been more hopeful about the future of Japan.

I've never been more hopeful about Japan and the world, and as the Goddess of Hope, I ask you to sustain it, and keep hope and love alive in your hearts and each other. This isn't blind optimism, which ignores the massiveness of the tasks ahead or those roadblocks that we have to put up with. And this isn't about idealism that allows us to sulk in our own soul gems of despair and pretend that everything is okay. No, that's not the hope I'm talking about.

As I have realized, hope is actually that special something that tells us that despite what all the naysayers may say, despite all the detractors that come crashing down on our doorstep, keep reaching, keep working, keep fighting and turn it into confidence and positive motivation.

Japan, I believe we can build on the progress that the Puella Magi Party under Mami Tomoe made and continue to fight for better jobs, better opportunities and better anime and manga for everyone to throw money at. I believe we can keep this promise that you should not forget, that someone is fighting for you and as long as you remember her, you are not alone. It doesn't matter whether you're Japanese or gaijin; whether you're straight, gay or lesbian; whether you're male or female; whether you're rich or poor; whether you're pro-Puella Magi or anti-Puella Magi; you can make it here in Japan if you're willing to ante up.

I believe we can take advantage of the future together because we are not as divided as people may say we are. We're not cynical as critics say we are. We are the country that brought anime to the forefront, manga to the forefront and moe to the forefront. This is Japan, the pride of Asia.

And together, with your help and the grace of myself and Homura-chan, we will continue this journey forward and remind the world and the universe why we are still, forever and always, the greatest nation on the face of the planet Earth.

Thank you Japan. We send our blessings on this country and the world. Take care of yourselves and be good to yourselves. I love you all. You Are Not Alone!"

If there's one thing I love about fanfiction, it's crossovers. There's a Madoka Magica crossover with Gurren Lagann (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9641481/1/Manly-Magi-Kamina-Magica) going on right now, and it has a really interesting interaction between the Incubators and Anti-Spiral.

I'll spoiler the story summary since it contains Gurren Lagann spoilers as well.

After Kamina's death, he awakes to find himself in a witch barrier, to which he meets Mami. After learning about the system of magical girls, Kamina is immediately suspicious of Kyubey (fair enough, since talking animals on his world we're evil). But despite that, the idea of hunting witches excites him. As this is happening, the Anti-Spirals are aware of the fact that a Spiral life-form entered another universe and they speak with the Incubators about it.

Made this dialogue only script for fun, lulz, and also because I always wanted to write a movie script like this. This is Part 1 only...the beginning will be based on Different Story while the rest will be based on main timeline. Yes some of it is logically stupid, but hey...

Each line break=new scene. Maddie=Mami and Katie=Kyoko.

Kyubey: Don’t you want to save your life and instantly heal yourself? Make a contract with me and become a magical girl today!
Maddie: All right…I…will…become…a…magical…magic…whoa! How did I heal so fast? And why is my hair blonde? What…am I wearing?
Kyubey: That is your new outfit. You can switch back if you want to.
Maddie: Oh…cool.
Maddie (background): I fought for my life, everyday. I fought witches and demons and everything else you thought you only saw in fairy tales that were read to you by your mother when you went to bed. I was a magical girl. You know, those Sailor Moon anime you watched when you were in third grade. In third grade, I wanted to be Sailor Moon. I thought she was a hero. But I was no hero…a while ago, I crashed my car in a drunk driving incident. I was driving my parents and my little sister home from a business party hosted by my dad’s boss. I killed my whole family. No one suspected me of it, and I never told that story to anyone. Well, okay, I did tell it to one person back in senior year…

Newscaster: Bill 201, a bill designed to increase federal penalties for rapes and sexual assaults in the military, was defeated overwhelmingly by the Conservative Party…
Priest: Man…why are we electing…such idiots to office…
Katie: Dad? Are you…are you drunk again?
Priest: Katie…oh…take care of your little sister for me won’t you?
Katie: *sighs*…fine, dad. Get your act together, please.
Priest: We have no mone…y….y…
Katie: Mom, tell dad to get his act together!
Mom: Sorry honey, I’m about to go to bed…
Katie: Victoria, you should go to bed too. It’s what, 11 PM already?
Victoria: Not until you read me another bedtime story.
Katie: *sigh*…fine. But I’m in high school now, and I got work to do. You have to stop doing this.
Victoria: Story! Story!
Katie: I guess it can’t be helped…

Maddie: Kyubey, no, I don’t mean…I mean, why are we here? This is like, the most ghetto….run-down…section of Denver! The only people who live here are prostitutes and rapists…or something. What, don’t tell me you want to recruit a prostitute as your sex slave?
Kyubey: Look over there. On the porch of that run down church.
Maddie: Hey. That’s that girl I know from my AP Biology class…Katie, wasn’t it? That ghetto girl that the boys are oogling over in class? I thought she was a bit wealthier than that…I mean, she’s not rich, but this looks horrible...
Katie: Oh my. It’s the rich little daddy’s girl in my biology class. What the hell brings you out at this hour? Do you want to hurt me? Kill me? Do you want the boys who keep coming to me? You can have them.
Maddie: No, really, that’s not how I see you at all. I’m…not a bitch. I promise. I want to help you.
Katie: Yeah, sure, and pigs will fly one day.
Maddie: Hey, pigs are cute. They go oink and roll in mud…
Katie: What the fuck do you want?
Maddie: Look, I don’t really feel all that well about myself lately. I want to help you. I promise you that. Here.
Katie: Oh look, a stuffed animal. Anything else interesting you want to show me? Will I be looking at your favorite fairy tale next?
Kyubey: Do you want to get out of this despair?
Katie: The hell?
Kyubey: Don’t you want more people to listen to your father? Don’t you need money? Just make a contract with me and become a magical girl!
Katie: …uh…magical girl? You mean that shit from anime? You didn’t record this, did you, Maddie?
Kyubey: No, she did not. I am the real deal.
Katie: Fuck it, what do I have to lose? I’ll take your offer. Make me into a magical girl or whatever the fuck you want to make me.
Kyubey: You shall have your wish.
Katie: Whoa! Nice spear! Hey uh…why is my hair red? And why am I wearing this rather elaborate…skirt?
Kyubey: You can transform back if you want to.
Katie: Wow. Amazing, I guess.
Kyubey: Check your pocket.
Katie: A paper slip…wait…what? All I can see is that it’s a paper code…
Kyubey: Look behind you. In that truck.
Katie: What the…a computer server and a…huge…pile of weed…and a bunch of shipping boxes…
Kyubey: Enjoy your new business!
Katie: What the fuck…I’m a drug dealer now?
Maddie (background): At first she was angry, but she then took advantage of the situation. To be honest, out of everyone I knew, Katie was my first real friend. We actually did take care of each other, unlike my other friends who didn’t give a shit when personal problems came up. I saw Katie as a friend and as a little sister to me, especially since I lost my real little sister. But like everything in real life, happy stories do not last.

Maddie: Wow. Last time I visited this place was 3 months ago, now it’s a fucking garden in here.
Katie: Yeah? Been making a shitton in profits, and no one knows about this place. I love Silk Road. I been making close to a thousand bucks daily from this shit.
Maddie: How’s fighting witches going for you? Kinda hard? No?
Katie: Oh, I toughened up. Witches are no big deal. Kill a few on a weeknight, end up with enough grief seeds to last me for half a year. It’s great.
Maddie: How’s your dad’s…church?
Katie: He’s loving every minute of it. Seriously, I have never seen so many cars in the church parking lot before. Everyone is listening to him…whatever he’s saying. I don’t really know. Hey…uh…
Maddie: Hmm?
Katie: Thanks for everything. Really. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you. I mean…wow. You helped me. A lot. Want to go to a coffee shop? Hell, maybe even a nightclub? We could both use a break. Here, I got a present for you.
Maddie: …a fake ID. Wow. Dunno whether to laugh or cry. But thanks, dammit.
Katie: It’s not fake, it’s legit. Some nice seller got these for us straight from the DMV. Shows up on scanners too.
Maddie: Wow. Just wow.
Katie: Come on. Let’s not spend our whole day in this creepy place.
__________________________________________________ _______________
Priest: Katie? Come here for a second.
Katie: Sure thing, dad.
Priest: You been using magic to get people to come here, haven’t you?
Katie: Dad? What, no? How could I even do such a thing? I’m not a witch!
Priest: Then how do you explain this whole box of cloudy ink balls in a box with “Grief Seeds” written on it?
Katie: Um…they look like ink balls?
Priest: You do know I have a book and guide on sorcery, right?
Katie: You bought that from an elementary school library sale…
Priest: And hell, I caught you shipping weed from the old factory building.
Katie: The hell?
Priest: My daughter…is a witch and a drug dealer…
Katie: Dad, calm down, I can explain-

Maddie: This vodka is rather strong. Where the hell did you buy it?
Leon: Sneaked it out of that liquor store next door.
Maddie: That’s my Leon…
Elena: Hey Maddie…uh…where’s the restroom?
Maddie: Upstairs. Don’t pee on the floor again, please. Seriously.
Newscaster: A priest of a church near Colfax and Quebec killed himself along with his young daughter and his wife. Headlines at 11…
Maddie: Oh…shit. Hold on guys, I need to make a call…Katie, Katie, you okay?
Katie: I’m honestly scared as fuck…hey uh…can I stay at your place for tonight?
Maddie: Sure. You can stay here forever if you want…
Katie: No, no. Just for now while I get an apartment. Thanks a lot though.
Maddie: No, no problem. I know what’s going on. Calm down…everything will be all right.
Maddie (background): The bonds between me and Katie grew closer and closer. While we came from different socioeconomic backgrounds, we were both in the same boat; teenage girls with no families and too much money in their bank accounts fighting monsters. We had a sister-like bond which no one could break apart: me as the older sister, Katie as the younger one. Or so I thought, anyways. One day my boyfriend was bringing home some cocaine...to sell. And things went downhill from there…
__________________________________________________ _____________
Maddie: We need a place to hide that shit. And no, before you ask, not in my house. Ever. Where is it now?
Leon: Pfft, sweetheart. I would never harm you. You are the sweetest little thing, sweeter than strawberries and chocolate…
Maddie: Aw. Thanks. I love you too. Wait…if you didn’t hide the drugs in my house or yours…where the hell did you put it?
Leon: You know that apartment number and key number that you left on a sticky note a few months ago? I hid it there. Looked like some weird hipster girl’s apartment…
Maddie: Oh…fuck…you…
Leon: What’s wrong?
__________________________________________________ ______________
Maddie: Oh…shit.
Maddie (background): When I arrived, the cop cars were in full force and Katie was in handcuffs, crying. Some old lady reported seeing cocaine being delivered to that apartment, and apparently that was enough for the police to arrest her. Even though she did nothing wrong, the judge sentenced her to 6 months in prison. She could fight witches in the vast amount of prison labyrinths, which kept her alive. But she also grew resentful and angry. As for me, I would have visited, but I had too much on my plate back then. I was leader of the Human Rights club…
Maddie: Please sign this petition to support women’s rights in India!
Boy: I’ll sign it!
Maddie: Yeah, do sign, thanks! Here’s the pape…ah you know what, I need a new sheet. Here.
Boy: Did you know your boobs are cute as hell?
Maddie: Sign it, fuck off, and leave.
Maddie (background): I had 5 AP courses in one year…
Maddie: Aristotle…Zeus…aren’t they both…ugh…I need sleep…fuck…off…
Maddie (background): I was a cheerleader…
Teacher: Are you okay?
Maddie: I think I hit my head on the beam…owww….
Maddie (background): And I was occupied with a new boyfriend. A cute Chinese kid named Sean.
Sean: Hey, uh, want to go on another date tomorrow night? I know some good clubs in town. Maybe we can see The Hangover 6 or something.
Maddie: I don’t know, Sean…
Sean: Hey, look, sweetheart. I really want an intimate experience…just the two of us. I like partying with the guys, but this is the week where cops are extra alert. I don’t want to end up as a victim of a crackdown.
Maddie: Good point…
Maddie (background): As for Leon, I broke up with him after Katie got arrested. He later killed himself after he got too drunk and crashed his Subaru into a lake. Unfortunately, Sean was a Chinese identity thief who was later tortured and killed by Chinese Triad members for failing to pay his dues. On the outside, I was the perfect girl: I had a 4.8 GPA, I was the leader of the cheerleading team, I was a club president, and I was attractive to most boys. On the inside though, I was a wreck. On the day of my high school graduation, I was the selected valedictorian. I tried to make a speech, but my speech was jumbled and stupid. Katie got out of prison a week afterwards, and things got messy…
__________________________________________________ ____________
Maddie: Jesus Christ, you look fucking terrible. I never thought…wow.
Katie: Fuck off.
Maddie: Geez, why so harsh?
Katie: Figure it out, goddammit. I’m not in the mood to talk to you.
Maddie: What did I do? Seriously, what? I’m…
Katie: Use your brain.
Maddie: I still can’t…
Katie: Ok, so you want me to tell you? I’ll tell you. Your boyfriend hid a few grams of cocaine in my apartment, and instead of doing something about it, you waited until I was arrested for it and still didn’t manage to do shit about it. You told me you would be there for me, yet you didn’t bother to visit me once-once!-in prison, and when I tried to call you, I never got a reply. At least you could have answered me or something! Meanwhile while I was in prison, you managed to steal a bunch of stuff from my apartment, stuff I paid good money for. You got drunk, took my car and crashed it into a lake. Oh, you also managed to tear up a lot of my family albums. And now you want to be my “older sister” again? What type of older sister decides to wreck their little sister’s life and laughs about it?
Maddie: Wait, what the fuck?

You know as cheerful as Madoka is she certainty has a right to be infuriated by the incubators. Since she is now a goddess of sorts she could go and wipe out the incubators in rage.

Madoka magica- the rage of a goddess- The incubators were a emotionless race and so did not understand why Madoka was mad. Madoka procceded to wipe out the incubators and given her knew found intelect was able to lecture them on why their plan wouldn't work.
"you have no emotions so you can't replinish what you used, and the amount of power you put out is the reason entropy will happen."

Before the incubator could say something to justify itself madoka got a wicked idea.

"Incubators I give you two options. A) you suffer in an endless cycle all the emotions of every magical girl their ever will be in order full fill your quota. or B) " Madoka grinned evilly at them. "You become human and suffer as cosplay models for every cosplay fanatic in the anime world."

The incubators having no desire to suffer chose b, and regretted it as their now human bodies were forced to wear frilly maid costumes and outfits that were embarrassing even for them.

------
sorry about that not a good writer and it was spur of the moment. anyway I do think a small fanfiction where Madoka is angry ans seeks vengeance on the incubators would be a good fic since ironically madoka has the most right to be mad since three people she knew and cared about to certain degree's were killed for nothing, and being a goddess, she knows all that may have been.

So I asked myself: 'where would be a good place to start spreading out and see if anyone else is interested in my fanfic?' And the answer to that was: 'perhaps that anime site I stalk every now and then?'

The name is Kreise Der Spiralen (which is German for Circle of Spirals), It's already five chapters in, and has a fair amount of reviews, but I'd really appreciate it if any of you decided to read it and give your opinion afterwards~ anything you like about it? Anything you don't like? Feel free to tell~

Um... Okay, so here it is:

Homura wakes up, only to find that all of her magical girl powers have disappeared. With such a huge disadvantage this time around, can she still save Madoka from her fate?

I had an idea for a short fic, or omake. What if Kyube met the girls of 3-a from negima. After finding out what the incubatores were I am sure their would be hilarious torment for the incubator. Other idea is that Jack Rakan shows up and knows walpupuris (sorry can't spell) to oblivion with one punch and laughs as the incubator sweats.

sorry if I am not clear on my idea.

I was wondering whether PM3 fanfiction is still appreciated any more, then decided to just go ahead and post.

This crossover is between the PV of Rip=Release (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiOyjtN2XOU) by Ryuusei-P / Minato and of course, Madoka Magica. I was in a depressed state, had been watching Sayaka witch out over and again, and caught interest in the gem on Luka's neck and her facial expression.

Gist is, Luka witches out, but of course I go into more detail than that.

I present to AnimeSuki, 'Puella Duces Civ V Magica', also on fanfiction.net. (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10235929/1/Puella-Duces-Civ-V-Magica). I'm very proud of my work and it would be an honor if you were to read it and give me feedback, any kind of feedback.

The basic premise; what if Civilization V granted wishes when you won and Madoka and Homura were allowed to play it. How would they interact with the other leaders? Would Madoka be the same Madoka after she's finished playing the game?

Chapter 1

"If your civilization benefits from their sacrifice, why should the lives of a few people matter in the grand scheme of things?"

The words that came from the Incubator known as Kyubey, perched (as if he were worthy of such a high position) on the rack above her bed, pierced like a lance through the young girl's soul. The young girl, evidently was in great torment, kneeling, her face wracked with tears. Come to think of it, the kind of violence that was being perpetrated upon the young girl was the worst kind of one. There were many means of destroying a human being. A throat could be slit. A brain could be shot. He himself knew very well also, that a nuclear fusion chain reaction could be activated, literally vaporising a human (or more usually, several humans) out of existence.

He himself had been forced so many times to kill billions upon billions of human beings, men, women and children, guilty and innocent alike, in the course of his duties as the Spirit of a Civilization. Every time, every single decision that forced him to launch intercontinental ballistic missiles and bring ruin to 'humanity' (the term's precise meaning had become elusive to him from the day he realised he would be forced to be a divine plaything for the rest of eternity, himself being forced to treat his fellow citizens as pawns rather than equal men) real. Even if they were under his control, even knowing that whatever he did was part of an evil wretched, cosmic game (with very few rewards when the requirements and burdens were taken into account and weighed accordingly) meant to entertain whatever sadists would never let him rest, every death he caused weighed on him. Every death was a death. Every death he caused was a suicide of all he stood for. It was a horrible way to die.

However, it was not the worst way to die. Being incinerated by a thousand retaliatory nuclear missiles was relatively painless. It was the acceptance of death that was hard. Being forced to betray for what you stood for and to fall and cease to able to influence the current cosmic game you were in was worse, (and see your people suffer and be terrorised) but it was not the worst. Among the worst ways to die was to have your soul broken by words. Regardless of whether they were lies or particularly harsh truths (for a truth told in bad intent, was worse than all the lies you could invent), words truly were among the worse ways to kill a human being. He himself wielded the word, but he never used it to viciously and outright brutally tear out a young girl's heart and let her soul slowly rot away – tearing hearts away was something you did with a knife, not with words. He knew that very well from Montezuma I. Truly, the Incubators were among the most disgusting cosmic aberrations of this universe.

The rain continued to drop, as the filthy orgy of lies and truths continued to pour from the abomination's consciousness (and speaking of that, the Incubators loved to advertise and appeal to little girls didn't they, with those unnecessary mouth and eyes on their vessels).

The little girl, shaken and disturbed to the core, retorted to the creature's lies.

"So then, if your kind had never come to earth then none of this..."

"The truth is you humans would most likely still be living naked. In caves."

Pride was always foolish. Pride led to poor decisions and rash revenge. Every time he was forced into one of those cosmic gladiatorial shows, too often, Napoleon Bonaparte chose to make the rash decision of instantly declaring war on someone who had denounced him. That happened a lot with Ashurbanipal, Attila, Genghis, Alexander, Montezuma, Dido, Gustavus, Dido and Shaka (especially Shaka) with their cocksure beat-the-Hell-out-of-everyone mentality, but it was most egregious in Napoleon. Even if the myth that he was short was a British lie meant to ridicule, there was probably something terribly embarrassing that he was compensating for with his outright flanderised tendency to declare war over the most trivial of things (as insignificant as those lives were to the integrity of existence, couldn't the warmongers at least display some reluctance to bring death and tragedy across the land?). Alas, he digressed. What was on his mind now was his seething human pride, injured by the abomination. "The truth is you humans would most likely still be living naked. In caves." What kind of absolutely evil insult was that?

You should never be proud. Being proud made you do rash things. Like nuke a city out of existence.

Every time he heard the Incubators justify their unethical opportunism, he was at the very least bothered. The one factor that differentiated this from the other incidents was the particular harshness of the revelation.

For the cosmo's sake, Kaname Madoka was a pubescent girl!

The rage that had disturbed Gandhi was old. It was trite. It was overused. It happened all the time in those cosmic plays. But he never acclimated to it. Every time he felt it, it was a fresh as the first time he felt it in South Africa. The rage was always fresh and maybe that explained why the missiles went off whenever some great injustice was perpetrated by Attila.

It was with this rage that Mohandas Gandhi materialised.

"INCUBATOR. BE SILENT." With this yell so unfit for the embodiment of Truth, Kyubey's connection to the Incubator hivemind was severed; like a limp doll, the abomination fell from the rack onto the bed, like a puppet whose strings were cut. The silence brought by Gandhi could've been seen to be a good thing. On one hand, the Incubator would shut up for a while and stop torturing the poor little girl. On the other hand, when Madoka turned around, she saw a quarter-naked man in a shawl and loincloth. Awkward.

Thankfully for him, Madoka was too unnerved to react loudly. Key word was 'loudly'. Madoka retreated semi-catatonically to the corner of her bed; always a natural reaction when a quarter-naked man appeared in your room without warning.

In Japanese (two ways you could understand a foreign language – you learnt it through constant, millennia-long exposure, and exposure to Nobunaga and his domineering of city-states taught you sufficient Japanese to be able to tell him that that city-state was under your protection and that a nuclear missile was headed to Tokyo - OR the cosmic masterminds did the translation for you via telepathy– albeit often a very inaccurate one that merely gave you the gist of it – an apology for spying and a lament of defeat often sounded similar), Madoka queried:

"Who are you?" Whereupon Ghandi transferred the answer the way Kyubey would've:

"Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi – you would read it as 'マハトマ・ガンディー' – hopefully, you've paid attention in your world history classes?"

Madoka had always been one to care for others; everyone knew her reputation for kindness. If she were more proud of herself, she would've seen in herself usefulness and compassion.

"The Gandhi that resisted British… occupation?" Disbelief, small, but still present, was present in her voice. Even if you were surrounded by magical girls and witches, you wouldn't be likely to believe a man who looked like Gandhi and appeared in your room was Gandhi, right?

Gandhi corrected her. "Rule."

"The Gandhi that resisted British rule of India without hurting anyone?"

"Yes."

'Generations to come, it may well be, will scarce believe that such a man as this one ever in flesh and blood walked upon this Earth.' – Einstein's words about him came to the front of his mind. Then again, to study history and to be part of it were different things.

Gandhi was not wrong to have brought up the thought. In Madoka's mind herself, there was much disbelief, incredulity that was battling with the fact that she had seen more surreal things. A dragon-clown-worm-clown thingy biting the head off of Mami, televisions that tortured you by pulling you into strings of spaghetti, a jet black-haired girl who always seemed to know where you were and you feel was going to jump on you at any second – she'd seen those things, alongside Kyubey – in the end, she thought 'Why not? Gandhi is kind of an inspiration to me. He could very well actually be Gandhi.'

Gandhi was relieved. This was one of the few times he'd returned to his original Earth with people actually believing him to be who he claimed to be. Ah well, it was time to cut to the chase.

"Kaname Madoka."

Madoka looked up at Gandhi.

"Do you know why I came here?"

No response came from Madoka, save an interested silence.

"When the creature you knew as Kyubey insulted humanity, you protested in your heart strongly enough to shake the very nature of human existence and bring my presence here."

Yet more interested silence.

"Do you want humanity to live without the Incubators?"

"Yes."

"Do you want to show the universe, that even without the Incubators, we would still be where we are today, without their human animal husbandry and industrialised torture?"

"Yes!"

"Do you believe in the beauty of your dreams?"

"YES!" Tears of defiance, tears of joy, poured from Madoka's eyes.

"If you do, take this." Gandhi approached Madoka, and withdrew a necklace. The Necklace of Civilization was simple in design. It was a V-shape, attached to some yarn.

"Your hands please." Madoka complied, spreading out her palms as if collecting water. Gandhi bent, and placed the necklace on her palms.

"That necklace is a catalyst for something that can grant your wish."

"Wish?" Madoka, with her experience with Kyubey, was now wary of all wish-granting entities regardless of messianic reputation or not. "What's the catch?" She was getting savvy, as it seemed; her eyes ceased to shed tears and the sharpness of a hawk filled them as if response in the very word 'wish'.

Gandhi contemplated on the word 'catch'; the fact was, in the long run, there was no catch. Indeed, there were limitations on the nature of the wish. Firstly, the wish had to have an effect that directly applied on a civilizational scale. In other words, there was no wishing for a love to have their disability healed. No wishing for more life (which was unnecessary for a Spirit of a Civilization anyways). No wishing for your father's new religious doctrines to be heard. No wishing to redo your meeting with a certain pink-haired girl. Secondly, the wishes effects' were limited to the First Existence – this world, the original Earth of all the Spirits of Civilizations – there was no hope for those iterations of India that he had lost. Thirdly there was the time it took for your wish to be granted – often, it seemed in excess of 6000 years for the process to be complete. Fourthly and perhaps most importantly – there were more people than you alone waiting for their wish to be granted – inevitably, you would enter into conflict with another Spirit (in his credit, Gandhi acknowledged their desires and often gave them a chance to win, even considering his nuclear attacks). But what did she mean by 'catch'? The closest thing to a catch would be…

"Kaname Madoka – there is one particularly harsh limitation you have to face." Gandhi contemplated on how to word it.

"What is it?" The determination on the girl's face was surprising – it was incongruous – minutes ago, she was a crying, miserable wreck.

In all of the Games, if there was a wish that had to be granted, you had to possess a certain will – it was the will to overshadow others. It was the will to sacrifice a few for the many – informally, you had to be willing to 'shoot the dog' – essentially, it was selfishness.

"Regardless of whether you believe it or not, Kaname Madoka, you have an extremely pure character – you are incredibly selfless – the main problem you might face…"

Madoka was ready for anything – she wished for the Incubators to have never contacted humanity, yet for humanity to still be where it was without the sacrifices the Incubators had forced humanity to commit. However, she was, of course, wary of any wishing that might remove her soul from her body and destroy her humanity as Sayaka, Kyouko, Mami and Homura's had been.

"You might have to be willing to throw away what you believe in – in your case, it would be that selflessness that is characteristic of you."

The truth was, Madoka had always suspected that she was more than others – she was the class health officer – and others had always had spoken of her selflessness, regardless of her doubts. If that limited her from true selflessness – why not?

"If I can have my wish granted… It's alright in the end." Was it just him or did his presence inspire confidence and belief?

That was the tragedy that was the very being of game – in order to win – in order to let those still living in your First Existence benefit from your wishes – you had to be willing to sacrifice those very real people of those other Existences, those humans part of the Game. Nuclear warfare. Famine. Genocide. Betrayal. Disease. Decline. Recession. Famine, pestilence, war death, the Four Horsemen. Genghis, Shaka, Napoleon and Alexander (coincidentally, there were four of them) were the most notorious when it came to working to have their wishes granted. Entire cities reduced to rubble – full of real people – farms, fields of rich corn and wheat pillaged, entire nations enslaved – all for one more wish.

"Do you still wish to participate knowing very well you might have to betray yourself?"

"Yes." The smile of acceptance on Madoka's face was a very visible affirmation. It was this poor naïve girl, by virtue of being the focal point of another girl's wishes, who had become important enough to warrant interest from the Soul of the Game. Appearances were deceptive. The Incubators were an example and they also knew it applied to other things.

"I wish for humanity to have developed without ever contacting the Incubators!"

"And thus the Game of Civilizations begins." Gandhi stood up again and closed his eyes. His palms were pressed together, as if in prayer. Entrance into the game required a chant of quotations that brought the fabric of the game close to the First Existence.

"A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long supressed, finds utterance." - Jawaharlal Nehru. Gandhi was proud of what Nehru had brought into the world – today, India was finding its soul, long suppressed.

"Build courage when courage seems to fail; to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith; to create hope when hope becomes forlorn." - Douglas MacArthur. As different he and Gandhi were, the truth still resonated in those words – that was what it meant to be the Spirit of a Civilization.

"I never learned how to tune a harp, or play upon a lute; but I know how to raise a small and inconsiderable city to glory and greatness." – Themistocles. A man who resonated with him – the disestablishment of entrenched systems of authority based on blind tradition and resistance against those who would deny his people the right to exist beyond living as subjects.

'Reality' was beginning to fade. Madoka saw that she was in a void – only her bed remained.

"The great questions of the day will not be settled by means of speeches and majority decisions … but by iron and blood." – Otto von Bismarck. Gandhi did not by any means appreciate Bismarck for his acceptance of war as an instrument of foreign policy – but that didn't mean the truth of Bismarck's words were compromised. The existence of individuals such as Attila could only prove him true.

"I have witnessed the tremendous energy of the masses. On this foundation it is possible to accomplish any task whatsoever." - Mao Zedong. As with Bismarck, Gandhi found very little he could agree on with Mao – he who starved 60 million had not much in common with he who had freed 350 million. His worlds, sadly, were true nonetheless.

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." – Eleanor Roosevelt. A woman who saw a bright future. A woman, who despite all the tragedies of the last century, has not ceased to believe in the beauty of her dreams.

With this, the reality that Madoka had lived in disappeared. A flash, and the school uniform she was wearing changed into a pink fur rag. Her surroundings changed. The floor was earthen, the walls were of wood. The bed she was kneeling on felt more ragged; upon closer inspection, it was straw lined with a fur blanket. Her dismay was evident.

"I only said that the necklace was a catalyst."

---

Homura was disturbed. Madoka's life force had disappeared from her senses– a transformation into a magical girl was likely. The work of Kyubey again, no doubt. She was about to transform to repeat the loop when (as if to compensate for Madoka's disappearance) another presence made itself at home on one of her couches.

It was a rough-bearded man in a rich fur coat, topped by a pointed fur cap.

"You looking for Kaname Madoka?" – His words came through telepathy and sounded vaguely Turkic.

im echoing this statement.
anyone have good ones?

I have not seen Rebellion yet and from what I hear was that the ending made people mad so I think there are more what should have been fanficitons out there. Such as those containing Madoka takes Houmora in God hood and they vaporize all the incubators.

Seriously the incubators are pure scum for non emotional creatures, they probably think fanfictions should be written about Houmora tragedy saying its only natural.

ah I think your pretty much mistaken there.

people arent "that" mad about the ending, heck a lot of those who got "mad"dont actually disagree with how the ending took.

a better way to see it, would be like 50% people are split/uncertain on what they really feel of the movie, 20% hate it while 30% love it.

still, im really hoping for someone to properly make a good continuation of the movie, with sayaka as the proper MC since she's virtually the only one who'll be able to actually do something unlike the others.

I for one was completely furious about it when I first saw it... Granted since then I've come to terms with it but, as is coincidentally being debated in the movie-thread at the moment, there are plenty of very valid criticisms one can make against it. Now yes, there are also plenty of people who liked the entire movie, including the ending, just fine, but it was an extremely divisive film. This is fact.

So... Browsing through ff-dot-net, I find a random little thing called "Tales of Homura's Harem" by the (in?)famous Shadow-Crystal-Mage, and amongst its little snippets I find something that could actually make an interesting full-size fic if anyone decided to make it (side note: f*ck that site's no-copy/paste-crap, having to type everything word-for-word myself...):

Ask a Stupid Question:

"I wish..." Madoka considered as Mami and Sayaka nodded enthusiastically. "I wish I knew why Akemi-san is so cold towards me..."

One soul gem later, Kyubey passively reflected if more research into this 'fear' thing should be done. It might certainly cut back on such abrasive wear on his bodies... and oh, there he was getting kicked again...

Madoka ended up with a shield just like Homura's.

Homura, naturally, freaked.

There are ways to neutralize the script they use to disable select and copy on that site. I've got one on my bookmarks. There are also various fanfic downloaders that still work on it.

honestly, id like to make a fanfic continuation of rebellion, with sayaka being the main.

problem I have though (besides college), is that im not sure on what level do I put homura.
do I have her be the overconfident smug demon who has things "mostly" under control, or do I have her be close to her usual personality and have a rather good but fragile control on the world?

You could split the difference - have her act like the former but in reality be the latter.

I guess that solves that issue, but it also leads to another issue:
what will be the conflict?

see here, having homura be overconfident, is based on the premise that she's just playing around sayaka cause she's bored as a demon/has nothing better to do.

the other, having homura be close to original, is based close to the premise of some of those images ive seen in danbooro, where homura's stressed/troubled/lonely and sayaka's the one who notices these.

if I mix the two, well, its sort of conflicting.

it could work if I created a new threat/enemy for homura to have sayaka deal with it. the reason would be is that either she'd be using too much of her powers just to keep madoka here, or have her own power be insufficient to deal with the enemy herself.
then for why sayaka, it would be due to her not wanting the others to be in danger as well as her being annoyed at sayaka.

well the problem is thinking of an enemy, really. somehow im not so good with that one, also id prefer to have less OCs as possible.

I've been toying around with thoughts about a continuation, and one idea that's stuck in my head is that Homura secretly/subconsciously wants to lose, since she sees herself as evil for her betrayal of Madoka.

I've been toying around with thoughts about a continuation, and one idea that's stuck in my head is that Homura secretly/subconsciously wants to lose, since she sees herself as evil for her betrayal of Madoka.

thats a pretty popular opinion, well, if your a homura fan who wants to keep her looking good.

unfortunately, I prefer to look at homura as a yandere, which you can gain from my recent post in the rebellion thread.

so I dont really wanna see homura setting herself up for a defeat, rather I want homura to be blind sided and really shaken out of her positon, instead of losing cause she didnt really fight hard for her belief and ideas.

if there's anything about homura that I appreciate, its her conviction and dedication. in the same vein as sayaka, I commend her for working really hard.
but just like with sayaka, I dont really agree with the person she's fixated on.

There's a post-Rebellion Madoka Magica fanfic idea I've been bouncing around for awhile now, and I finally came to terms with exactly how I'd go about it (feedback from people I've discussed this with on AS has helped here). It'll probably actually be a short fanfic, 4 chapters at most (and maybe even as little as 2), but I think Madoka Magica fans here might find it interesting.

It's inspired a bit by an old Star Trek episode, an old He-Man episode, and an old Quasar comic I read a long time ago.

Any here it is... The Arena (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10360723/1/)!

I'd love to know what my fellow Madoka Magica fans here think of it. :)

I'd put it up on my fanfic thread here on AS but I'd like to save that strictly for PPPL.

Note: Feel free to tell me how you'd like this fanfic to play out.

Boredom and finding nostalgic things makes fanfic ideas happen... My imagination's been coming up with random Puella-Magi/Crossover ideas, from "Red vs. Blue crew gets sucked into things to help the girls out";

to a Suite PreCure crossover (that I'm actually putting serious thought into, as part of a PreCure Crossover Trilogy; the other two fics will be an MLP/PreCure X-over, and an OC/PreCure X-over, with all three groups coming together to fight a Mysterious Ultimate Enemy at the end);

and a fic where the girls get Digimon partners (NOT the same individuals from the shows, but of the same 'species'; so far I've decided that Homura gets Patamon/Angemon/MagnaAngemon/Seraphimon; Madoka gets Gatomon/Angewomon/Ophanimon; Mami gets Terriermon/Gargomon/Rapidmon/a non-Biomerge version of MegaGargomon; and an OC Puella Magi who starts out evil because of bad things happening to her driving her to darkness, but comes to the good-guy side thanks to Madoka's compassion, having Impmon/IceDevimon/SkullSatamon/Beelzemon; I can't decide what partners Kyouko and Sayaka would have, or whether or not to have Kyousuke and/or Hitomi get pulled in and what their partners would be).

oh and another source of basis we could go with for a continuation would be sayaka and homura's conversation regarding the wraiths.

so what will happen now, and what will homura do once all the wraiths are gone? thats a pretty good source for things to change the current status-quo of homura's world.
could lead to homura actually going for what she said to sayaka, could also be the point where her world starts to crack.

bah, in the end the problem comes from my own conflicting feelings about how I want to end it, that makes it tough for me to start on writing a fanfic.

cause while indeed, the way it would continue and is something I also want, is to go against homura.
...but my problem now, is that I also dont really find what homura did as something that bad, which brings up a conflict for me in trying to find an idea to go against her.

damn homura, your yandere antics have won me over. a little.

as a side and hilarious note, one of the ideas that wandered into my mind on thinking about a fanfic was having something like a role reversal and a deconstruction/reconstruction for an ending:

lets say that sayaka in the story has managed to convince homura to let go of her hold on madoka, where the details of how are still being worked out...

so now then, homura sees her faults/learns to give up finally.

she lets madoka free and back to her duty as the goddess.

sayaka is glad now for the return of the proper order as well as seeing homura as a good person now(well, after the initial demon fiasco).

everything then seems alright now, more or less. madoka's back to her status, homura learns to let things go and sayaka is glad that a peaceful resolution had occured.

then when sayaka's about to go back to heaven, she suddenly finds herself being unable to.

confused, she turns around to homura to comment on this strange occurrence only to find said girl smiling very eerily towards her.

^ It's very creative, so some nice thinking there. However, to make it work, you'd have to have at least some build up to it.

There's a question I'd like to post to my fellow Madoka Magica fans.

For OC Puella Magi, or Puella Magi arising from crossovers with other anime shows, it would be nice to have a good list of Puella Magi weapons to work with.

I mean, a little bit of duplication might be Ok. It might be Ok to have one other sword-wielder, or someone else who uses a gun (I'd probably make a point to have it not be a musket or a hand-gun, though). But variety in weapons would also be good.

Off the top of my head, I can think of these:

Axe
Hammer
Brass Knuckles
Halberd
Scythe
Musical instrument (the character would really need to fit this though)
Knives
Wand/Scepter (a bit old-fashioned, but it might work)
Nunchucks

Can people here think of any other good Puella Magi weapons?

silvercover
2014-06-04, 09:23
of course, I plan to build up on it.
from their various interaction throughout the fic, il be slowly building up their relationship to something more, or at least different from their initial one.
that idea there was just for an ending I pictured.

as for weapon ideas, im gonna take up some from BRS:
rollerblades or something akin for the girl to use kicks as attacks(like chariot).
greatsword.
robot/avatar.

then there's from kazumi magica:
magic book.
puppets/summons.

there's also weapons like flails.

well so far, those are what ive thought of.

More OC puella magi weapons:

Crossbow
Grenades/Bombs (like old fashioned black powder type)
Various types of polearm: Billhook, Partisan, Naginata, Bardiche etc
Various other Sword Types: Katana, Gladius, Zweihander, Katzbalger, Claymore, etc
Sword and Shield/Spear and Shield
British-style longbow
Japanese yumi longbow
Composite/Recurve Bow
A modern-looking firearm, but not identical to any real weapon (Used this in my Madoka/Watamote crossover below)
Tanegashima (Japanese-style musket)
Blunderbuss
And many more- just look up various historical weapons for ideas

Also, an excerpt from a Madoka/Watamote crossover I may or may not continue:

I'm Not Popular, So I'll Make A Contract:

Character Profile: Puella Magi Tomoko Kuroki
Wish: Become popular and attractive
Soul Gem Color: green
Magical Girl Outfit: Black skirt and stockings, green top, black jacket, fingerless gloves
Weapon: Modern-looking sniper rifle (based on her fantasies as a sniper and an arms dealer), combines various real-life weapons, appears to never run out of ammunition, and can fire special projectiles such as explosive, incendiary, homing, electrified etc.

Tomoko Kuroki clicked the save button, saving her progress in her newest otome game. It was nearly 3:00 in the morning when Tomoko finally got out of her computer chair and turned towards her bed. The shadows that usually hung under her eyes even more pronounced than usual.

It was then that Tomoko saw something that she was sure had not been on her bed last time. What appeared to be a stuffed animal that looked for the most part like a white cat, but had a fox-like tail and what looked like a second set of ears, long and rabbit like, quite unlike its first pair of cat-like ears. The animal’s white fur was interrupted on its back by a red circle.

Tomoko assumed it must be a plushie of a character in an anime. Then, however, the creature did something that caused Tomoko to jump back in shock.

The “stuffed animal”, which had been in a reclining position got up on all fours and looked at Tomoko with its deep red eyes, which seemed to shine like rubies in the moonlight filtering through the window.

“Have I been lost so much sleep I’m hallucinating?”, Tomoko asked herself, “Or maybe I fell asleep in front of the computer… is this a dream?”

“I am neither a hallucination, nor a dream, Tomoko Kuroki”, the creature said in a high-pitched, but still decidedly male-sounding voice.

“Www...wwho are you!?” Tomoko asked, a noticeable stammer in her voice, she was always nervous when talking to strangers at the best of times, and this not only a stranger, it wasn’t even human. She had no idea what this creature was or what it wanted with her.

“My name is Kyubey. I am a “messenger of magic”, the creature said.

“Www… what do you want with me?”, Tomoko asked, not sure she believed the creature, but, then again, if something like that could talk, was magic really out of the question.

“I want you to make a contract with me and become a magical girl”, Kyubey said, “The contract is simple. You will become a magical girl, and in exchange, I will grant any one wish”.

“A magical girl?”, Tomoko asked, “You mean like in an anime?”

“Something like that”, Kyubey said, “As a magical girl, it will be your duty to fight monsters called “witches”, which gain power from negative emotions. If they are allowed to become too powerful, they can manipulate people to do evil.”

It sounded like a typical mahou shoujo anime plot to Tomoko. But that wasn’t the main thing that interested her. She still wasn’t sure she believed the creature, but if there was any chance… If this “Kyubey” could grant her wish…. If she could finally become popular…

A series of wonderful images flashed through Tomoko’s mind. She saw herself as an attractive girl, with a toned body, smooth skin, long, flowing black hair, and an ample bust. She saw herself surrounded by friends everywhere she went, she saw herself as the life of the party, and she saw herself with a boyfriend even more handsome than the guys in those otome games. Even before these images passed through her mind, Tomoko could had made up her mind.

“I…. I… I accept the contract. I want to be popular…”, Tomoko said, “With many friends… and a boyfriend… a really hot one…”

“Very well”, Kyubey said as he turned to face Tomoko. Kyubey then moved the two “rabbit ear” appendages on his head, into the air, with a gap of a few centimeters between them.

A glowing green light appeared between the appendages as Tomoko felt a searing pain in her chest. Tomoko looked down to see a similar ball of green light emerge from her chest, moving out of her, about a distance of 30 centimeters. At the same time, Tomoko felt the pain extend to all over her body.

Looking down, she could see her body changing shape before her eyes. The pain was clearly worth if it was transforming her into the girl she always wanted to be.

As quickly as it began, the pain ended. Tomoko looked into the mirror, seeing that she was taller, with an ample bust and perfectly shaped body.

“It actually worked!”, Tomoko said.

“I take it you are pleased with the results.”, Kyubey said.

“Yes…”, Tomoko replied, realizing was no longer stammering, she her voice was different, filled with confidence…

“There is one thing I have to warn you about…”, Kyubey said. Tomoko realized he was now sitting next to a dark green gemstone, the same color as her eyes.

“This”, Kyubey continued, “Is your soul gem, the source of a magical girl’s power. Keep this near you at all times.”

“Powers?”, Tomoko asked, “What powers do I have?”.

“Try transforming yourself.”, Kyubey said.

“How…”, Tomoko asked, but she cut off herself when her soul gem started to glow. In a flash of light, her clothing disappeared, replaced by a short frilly black skirt and stockings going up with her thighs. She now had a black jacket with a green-gray top underneath. In her hands, now covered by black leather fingerless gloves, Tomoko held a large semi-automatic sniper rifle with what appeared to be black plastic furniture and fire selector reminiscent of a Heckler and Koch firearm, but with an L96-style stock and an M-40-like barrel, as well as a large scope mounted on top. Tomoko’s knew from her middle school interest in firearms and desire to be an arms dealer that this was no standard production weapon.

“I would recommend you transform back into your normal self.”, Kyubey said, “So as to save your magical energy.”

Tomoko returned to her normal clothing in a flash of light as Kyubey said, “Look at your soul gem. There should be a bit of gray fog inside. I would recommend you cleanse your soul gem of darkness regularly, If it gets fully black, you will no longer have your powers as a magical girl and your wish will be undone.”

“How do I cleanse my gem”, Tomoko asked.

“With a grief seed”, Kyubey replied, “The remains of a witch you kill. You can use it twice. Then, I will dispose of the used grief seed. You should still have plenty of magic left to hunt a witch.

“I must attend to business elsewhere”, Kyubey said, “But I will be in constant telepathic contact with you. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. I will visit you occasionally to check on your progress. You will be able to see and hear me, though others who have not made a contract with me will not”.

At that, Kyubey disappeared, leaving Tomoko to go to bed, thinking that if this was a dream, she did not want to wake up. Little did she know, that in a few short months, she would wish should could have ate those words.

Also, another planned Madoka crossover, with a manga I read recently:

Ore ga Doutei o Sutetara Shinu Ken ni Tsuite (translated (I think) as something along the lines of "About How I Was Killed By An Unwanted Virgin")

Summary: From MangaHelpers: Ichijo Kazuya thought that he was murdered, but when he came to, he was back in his high school days. He lived his entire life as a playboy and had had countless sexual encounters with women until that fateful day that he was killed. He realizes that his murderer was his old high school friend Tanaka Masaki who was jealous of Kazuya’s relationships and his built up anger eventually exploded. Taken back 15 years into his past, it seems that he has been given a second chance at life and given a chance to make different choices. He decides that the way to prevent his eventual demise is to make sure Masaki is more successful with girls and loses his virginity before Kazuya. But fate seems to be steering Kazuya towards the path of his previous life and keeps introducing the same girls he had sexual encounters with.

Potential Titles:
A Peculiar Case

About How I Made A Contract To Save Myself From Being An Unwanted Virgin

Fanfic Plot Synopsis: If you are among the few people who read it Ore ga Doutei (at least the translated chapters, so this may be unknowingly AU), you will have probably guessed that its is not Kazuya that is the protagonist of this fic, but Masaki, who naturally makes a contract to have a sexual relationship with his highschool crush, Rika Yoshino. Kyubey walks into Masaki's apartment, stating that he is very unusual for a 32-year old male, as most adult, and males for that matter, lack the "potential" (read: despair) that he has. So it is that Masaki becomes the first magical.... Miserable 30-something salaryman...
May also involve time travel back to Masaki's either highschool or college days.

Character Profile: Vir Magi (Latin, "magical man") Masaki Tanaka
Transformed outfit: A set of plate armor, but no helmet, haven't thought much further on it.
Wish: To date his highschool crush
Weapon: Infinitely summoned European-style longswords, with the ability to fire the blade off like a ballistic knife, which will then explode in the body of the target (an ability originally intended for Sayaka, according to the production notes)
Soul Gem color: Unsure, possibly white, gray, green, or orange

One idea I've been struggling with when it comes to a post-Rebellion fanfic is the idea of "How would Homura approach Madoka?"

These are the ideas that I have in my mind:

1. Aim to develop a close friendship.

2. Carefully watch over Madoka from afar but not actually befriend Madoka. Might try to sort of control/monitor Madoka through Sayaka (presuming Madoka and Sayaka become friends again in spite of Madoka now having spent 3 years in America while Sayaka was in Japan).

3. Grow bored with keeping watch over Madoka and/or eventually become sort of satisfied with the situation, and hence Homura turns her attentions elsewhere.

I'm divided on which of the three is most likely, and I'd like to get the takes of fanfic writers/fans familiar with the Rebellion movie.

well for me, its more on giving an actual conflict for the plot to move.

yes, there is conflict between homura and sayaka, however, I lack a focal point that will cause a change in the status quo.
I feel like I need to create an enemy or a threat, cause if it comes to philosophical points I dont really think it would make a change not to mention im not really well versed in all the philosophies so probably shouldnt attempt to go there(though I can argue, better to say I dont know the terms).

there's also the issue of the girls standings, like are they magical girls still or rendered human? madoka's probably human, but for kyouko, sayaka and mami? or is sayaka also left out of the loop and only mami/kyouko still have their powers to fight the wraiths.

as for your choices, triple R, it would really depend on what you want homura's direction to go.
personally though, I think #1 is foregone already.

here's a fanfic I really like that makes a very good postrebellion story, only slight problem is that its also a sequel of his other fic that contains several OC.
while the guy does, of course, give his OCs the focus, he's not ignoring the main cast especially in importance. for instance, you could basically ignore the OCs and you wouldnt be missing out on the plot/story. from a glimpse of them though, id say he makes good OCs, I just am not really interested in learning about them.

I'm pretty sure Homura wants to be close Madoka, but perhaps it's too dangerous.
As we have seen in Rebellion Homura's memory manipulations are fragile,a single mistake could potentially destroy the illusion.
The last option is intersting, but seems unlikely.Maybe after a very long, eventless time?
For me it's 2>1>3.
well for me, its more on giving an actual conflict for the plot to move.

My idea so far is that Homura is unable to keep Madoka happy, even with her new powers.
Maybe Homura has to suppress more and more memories, but this process has negative side effects on Madoka.
For example, she forgets all her memoires about Sayaka, but they are very important to her and without them she is no longer the same person.
Over time Madoka gets more and more unhappy and depressed, maybe even sick.
Now Homura has a dilemma.

This is as far as I got.I'm not sure where to go from here.
Maybe Sayaka confronts Homura ,because of what she did to Madoka.
The problem is,I don't think Sayaka has a chance against a Goddess.
All the witches Madoka saved are probably also willing to fight for her.
2 Problems:Where are they and how could they help her?

There's also the issue of the girls standings, like are they magical girls still or rendered human? madoka's probably human, but for kyouko, sayaka and mami? or is sayaka also left out of the loop and only mami/kyouko still have their powers to fight the wraiths.
I'm unsure about Madoka. In Homuras transformation scene it looks like she took her powers, but what about the final dialog scene?
Was it only symbolic?
It looks like Sayaka is still a witch (or whatever she was in the movie) and as far as we know Homura hasn't done anything to the other Magical Girls.
I think they still have magical powers, but it's possible that they don't remember it.

well another theme im also playing around with is having homura struggling to keep this state of the world. sayaka notices this which results in her eventually giving homura a hand due to understanding her feelings and does end up agreeing that the world is good, but she still doesnt like homura keeping madoka suppressed, which will be brought up occasionally.

ah geez, so much ideas so little time...

I just had an idea.
Maybe Madoka is smarter than we thought.
Maybe she knew the possible outcomes and prepared some kind of back-up plan for the worst case scenario.
She was certainly hoping for a diffenrent chain of events and she knew the risk, but she had to try it anyway.

I think the situation can only be resolved by Madoka and Homora working together. One of the series' themes is balance. Madoka can't keep the world stable alone, and neither can Homura.

I agree, but how do we get there?
Madoka obviously has to regain her memorys first and she probably needs help to accomplish that.

actually madoka did a pretty good job at keeping the world stable with her wish, only problem was that kyuubey decided to mess things up again.

I can see the appeal for that, but honestly it doesnt really seem possible with how madoka and homura are at opposing values.

it would require a 3rd party to change that one, someone that would be able to either influence homura or madoka to think differently.

if you guys do go for that idea though, I vouch for sayaka.

she'll be the one most likely to be able to create a bridge for these two, as she falls in line with madoka in believing justice and law yet also understands the feelings of desire and love that homura is in.
madoka and homura's beliefs are opposing each other too much for them to see the other points, they need someone to help them reach a compromise.

Ok,I think I got it.
Act 1: Homura is unsatisfied with her new world.
Either because Madoka isn't happy,or because Homura realises that Madoka is nothing ,but a doll.

Act 2:Serious talk with Sayaka
Sayaka regains her memories(this part is a bit tricky) and they talk.
Maybe Homura wants to talk to her, because Sayaka is only one who can understand what she is talking about.
Sayaka tells her that Madokami was happier than ever before.
Homura still don't want to return the universe to the pervious stage, because she is worried about the Incubators.
Finally Sayaka presents her a solution.

Act 3:Homura and Madoka ascend together
Homura releases Madoka and her powers are restored(possibly through a new wish).
The universe is like it was at the end of E12,except Homura is missing.
Madoka returns to her duty and Homura becomes her eternal gaurdian.
They are both happy and safe.Incubators are no longer a threat for them, because Homura can sabotage them with ease.

^one of my theories for that one, is that homura didnt really wipe all of sayaka's memories. she just altered it to have her forget about the whole ascension and likely things related to madoka. she still retains the rest of her memories, as you could sort of get from how she teared up on seeing kyousuke.
because if she didnt, why would she cry? or if we assume that its just her subconscious reacting, then she should be going like "why am I crying?" and she shouldnt be trying to look "mysterious" to hitomi and kyousuke, if she forgot she'd go like "oh maybe something hit my eyes, this is just nothing". sayaka looked like she was faking the whole thing there.

the way I see and interpret that scene, homura wanted sayaka to get used to her world rather than force the change.
"why dont you simply enjoy the happiness from getting another chance to live a human life? someday, you'll forget about all that happened in the past, and this place will seem perfectly natural."

from the dialogue , bolded part implies that homura wants sayaka to stand down on her own stance. the italized part implies that homura didnt erase sayaka's memories, at least not all of it. the underlined part continues on with the first part in homura wanting sayaka to adjust to her world.

so yeah, the way I see it, sayaka's got her memory intact, probably just lost her memories of being with the goddess side, and maybe being friends with madoka.

well thats the general plan if your a madokaXhomura shipper.
for me though, as a homuraXsayaka shipper, it'd go something like this(based on your script, ive got other different script drafts):

act 1: same as yours, though other reasons may be due to homura just getting tired/bored since she's all powerful and nothing challenges her.

act 2: similar to yours(serious talk with sayaka) but,
sayaka has her memories beforehand so there's no recovery needed, and their relationship in school is somewhat "tense" to say the least...
either sayaka starts to notice something wrong(like homura seems more annoyed/harsh/melancholy/etc.) and talks to homura about it, or homura figures there's nothing better to do so she decides to humor sayaka
both get into heated arguments, with no side really winning out
the two break away with no compromise being made, but both get hit by the other person's point(homura suppressing madoka vs the world being all good)

act 3: character development and story build up time
SoL events occur such as the school festival, christmas, valentines day, summer vacation, etc.
wraith battles are done, with maybe mami and kyouko still being magical girls to fight them
occasional sniping/banter/arguments between the two
all the girls(meaning madoka, and perhaps hitomi too if she's not busy with kyousuke) also start coming together to form a circle of friends, kind of like the world homura made at the start of the movie
things start cooling down between the two as they start being friendly, but still dont really see eye to eye(or at least still refuse the other's belief)
things sort of maintain this happiness until someone, or rather, some people, start to desire a change

well that's like so far my general plan, after that it gets complicated.
im sort of thinking of making a love dodadecagon, the question comes on which pairings do I start with, how they start to change the status quo, how things get broken down, who gets broken down, etc.
but in general, the plan is to have one or more of the girls to consider a relationship thats more than friends... which leads to a series of chain reactions that will mess up the balance and order in their friendship circle.

Form what I got Sayaka's memories are going to change steadily over time, and act 1will take sometime to play out.
I also just really like the idea that Homura wants to talk to her, even though she considers Sayaka a threat.

Your idea for act 1 is great, too.
Maybe she don't know what to do with herself after she finally got what she always wanted.
Alternatively she is not used to life without struggle.

I'm not sure what to think about your soap opera-ish approach.
It has potential, but I'm not into that kind of stuff.

and yeah,I'm a madokaXhomura shipper all the way,no point in denying it.
(Although, recently I appreciate Sayaka more and more.)
I really just want a happy ending for them in a way that makes sense.

well, that "soap opera" is sort of something that I rarely and really want to see in other medias.

you probably havent heard it from me yet, but im someone who really like to watch various levels of character interaction and development, ranging from improving to decreasing. from my title as the romance expert, well I like seeing a web of relationships of course, multiple ones, and then watch how the characters start to unfold and break around it.

most of the time its not done properly in other medias, its either too cheesy or too dramatic. or the web is too simple, that the conflict turns into something minor and somewhat easy to resolve.
I like to see a scene where multiple people desire one another, or more than one person, and see how the characters would grow and develop. whether it leads to relationship improvement or decay, I would love to see it.

not sure if I myself have the potential to get it done properly, but im sure I can avoid making it be melodramatic/overdramatic and not so cheesy/generic like most others.

of course, I could also cut that part off, since it may be too much for me. but I believe its also necessary, at the very least it will be if I really want my ship to set sail properly. the relationships needs to get cleared up and settled, which means there will be people hurt but its a necessary step for character development.

if I dont do something like it, chances are my pairing will feel fake and forced.
well, I could certainly just tone down the relationships into simpler and fewer ones, but its not quite as fun and exciting for me.

I think you are right about the relationships.
The characters are one of the reasons why I love the anime so much, well also because I can identify very well with Madoka.

I'm not much of a writer myself,in fact I never wrote a fanfiction before.
That's one of the reasons why I don't want to go too crazy and stick to only 2 or 3 characters.

Speaking of,I'm not sure how to handle Sayaka.
I could use her as little more than a plot device, but I think that would be a bit disrespectful.
I will figure something out.
It's not too far far-fetched that Sayaka and Homura were friends in 1 timeline or another, right?

I'm also thinking about telling each act from a different perspective.
Act 1 for example would be from Madoka's perspective or alternatively through her diary.
She never worte a diary in the show, but I think I have that much freedom as a writer.

silvercover
2014-06-16, 07:31
madoka had a diary I believe, or at least some notebook where she drew those magical girl outfits. its close enough to be a diary, or just assume it was a diary.

for sayaka and homura to be friends, well, you've got the different story manga for that one. id say they're at least friendly enough that sayaka can tell homura's tense and tries to loosen her up from the tension.

I forgot about the notebook, that could work.
Either way I think it's ok the to give the characters everyday traits and hobbies.

I want to read the different story anyway, but now it's also part of my research.

Not sure if this is the right place to post it, but here's a draft of chapter one of my Madoka/Ore ga Doutei o Sutetara Shinu Ken ni Tsuite (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=114165&page=6) crossover:

"About How I Made A Contract"

Madoka/Ore ga Doutei Crossover

Chapter 1:

Masaki Tanaka opened the door and walked across the threshold of his small apartment. It had been about one week since Masaki had visited what he thought was another mixer held by the head of a major Tokyo publishing company he was obligated to attend, but had turned into an event that would change everything, and all because of one chance meeting.

There, he had met Kazuya Ichijou, who had been his best friend until about his junior year in high school. It was at that time that they had grown apart, when something changed in Kazuya’s personality, and his fortunes. The previously mild mannered Kazuya had through a means that confounded Masaki to this day, had become extremely popular with women.

It seemed like every few weeks, he was going off with another girl, which naturally meant he and Masaki spent less and less time together, until they went their separate ways after they graduated.

While he did not publicly admit this, Masaki was, himself, still a virgin, though he was certain that, one of these days, he’d finally find the right person for him. All in all, Kazuya’s actions did not cause him much jealously.

Today, however, Masaki heard news about another of his old friends, one Rika Yoshino, Masaki’s old high school crush. Specifically, he had heard that Rika had died, chased onto train tracks by a man who had been stalking her. As soon as Masaki heard this, he could feel the rage burn within him like a fire. Masaki had mostly gotten over his crush on Rika, but part of him had always had a soft spot for her.

Masaki knew Kazuya had known Rika in college, so he called him up today to meet him at his apartment. When Masaki asked him about Rika, he said that he had a few one-night stands in college, that she had done that with many men, and seemed like the time that kept getting into bad relationships

The Kazuya told him something that ignited a fire inside Masaki, “I wasn’t really all that surprised”. Those six words meant that he knew Rika was troubled, that he was not surprised that she had ended up working in a brothel, not surprised that she was killed by some disgruntled client.

“How could he do something like this!?”, Masaki furious thought to himself as he walked into his apartment, “Did he not realize that her promiscuity was the result of a deeper psychological issue. At the moment, she needed someone to support her, not to toss her aside like a used rubber!”

“No doubt this just encouraged that dangerous behavior in her, just fucking anyone she felt like. And no doubt this stalker thought he had a shot too, and when she didn’t respond to his advance this happened!”, Masaki fumed, “It’s all Kazuya’s fault… that son of a bitch turned her into a victim!” For the first time, a dark thought entered his mind. He saw himself bursting into Kazuya’s apartment and placing his hand around his neck, choking him until he breathed no more.

Masaki’s rage-induced internal monologue was interrupted by something that made Masaki start, his anger instantly replaced by fear. It was a voice coming from the kitchen.

The fear, however, dissipated as quickly as it came, when Masaki’s brain registered the words the voice had spoken: “You have a most unusual potential, Masaki Tanaka”, the voice said in a high-pitched but still male voice.

Overcome by curiosity, Masaki switched on the light, to reveal something unlike anything he had seen before. Standing on his kitchen counter was a small creature the size of a house cat. The creature was mostly catlike, with all-white fur save for a circular red mark on its back. But it had a fox-like tail, and two long appendages of some description on top of its head, hanging like rabbit ears… but they couldn’t be ears- the creature already had a pair of what were obviously cat-like ears.

“What the hell are you!?”, Masaki asked in a shocked voice.

“My name is Kyubey”, the creature said, “I am a messenger of magic”.

“I must be dreaming, this sounds like something out of an anime”, Masaki thought.

Immediately, Kyubey said, “You are not dreaming, nor am I any sort of hallucination.”

“You can read my mind…”, Masaki asked nervously.

“In a manner of speaking”, Kyubey replied, “But that’s not why I’m here. As I said, you have rare potential for someone of your demographic group.”

“Potential”, Masaki snickered darkly, “Sure you’ve got the right guy? And what do you mean, “messenger of magic?”

“While you may not realize it, you are exactly the kind of person I am looking for.”, Kyubey responded, “Because of this potential, I am offering you a contract which will greatly benefit both of us.

“A contract, huh?”, Masaki asked, “What does that entail?”

“I will unlock your latent powers, which you will use to fight monsters know as “witches” that prey on humans.”, Kyubey said, “In return, I shall grant you any one wish you desire.”

Masaki thought about it. He was still not sure he believed this “Kyubey”, and was not even sure that he did, indeed, actually exist. Yet, on the other hand, if this thing was telling truth… if it could grant any wish….

“As a matter of fact, Masaki, I could prevent Rika Yoshino’s death. I could even rewrite your whole life so that she never ended up dating you instead of that boyfriend in high school, preventing this whole debacle from ever happening.”, Kyubey said.

“All right then, I’ll do it”, Masaki said, still not unsure as to whether this was actually a really weird dream.”

“Very well then”, Kyubey said, as the two appendages protruding from his head moved towards Masaki’s chest.

Masaki gave a shout of pain as he felt a burning sensation in his chest. Below him, he saw a glow of silver light appear in his chest.

“What the hell is going on!?”, Masaki asked, as he saw the ball of light levitate away from his chest. Kyubey ignored him and placed the ball of light right between the appendages on his head. At once, the ball of light transformed into a gemstone, but it was unlike any gemstone he had seen before, it shone with a metallic color, although it were not so much a gemstone, but a piece of silver carved into that shape. Yet, at the same time, it was translucent like a gemstone. Masaki knew at once it could not be natural.

As suddenly as it appeared, the pain in his chest was gone. As he realized this, Masaki also realized that he was now holding the mysterious, yet enchantingly beautiful gemstone.

“That is your soul gem”, Kyubey said, “It is the source of your power, keep it near you at all times or you will lose your powers.

“How close is near?”, Masaki asked, “And what do I do when I encounter one of these ‘witches’ you told me to fight. How do I use my powers?”

“Keep the gem less than about 50 meters from you”, Kyubey said, “And when the time comes, you will know what to do. For now, simply go to sleep, and the next day, you will find yourself poised to seize your wish. No matter what happens, your wish will be granted. If you wish to speak to me, ask me at any time, I’ll be in constant telepathic communication.”

“OK…”, Masaki said, unable to think of anything else to say as he walked over to his bed and pulled back the covers. Masaki then slid into the bed and tried to fall asleep.

I'm a bit stuck on my first act,but made good progress with act 2 instead.
It's still a bit bare bones right now.All the important plot points are there, but not much else.
I want to focus more on the characters
I still need to read The Different Story, but I bought vol. 1 and 2.

I'm thinking about telling the whole story from Sayaka's perspective.
In the end she would keep her memories and this time it wouldn't be such a big problem, because she doesn't need Madoka nearly as much as Homura does.
She also woudn't die the way she did ,because she learn her leason so to say.

Alright,as part of my I want to develop a friendship(or at least trust) between Sayaka and Homura.
I want to talk about 2 things:the similarity between Homura and Sayaka,as well as Homura and Madoka.
Later on I also bring up,that Homura hasn't really changed at all,at heart she is still same girl she always was(or that at least my interpreation of her character).
She still just want to protect her friend and make her happy, but secondarily Homura also want to find happiness for herself if possible.

Is there anything else I should bring up?

Not sure if anyone cares, but here's the second chapter of my Madoka/Ore ga Doutei o Sutetara Shinu Ken ni Tsuite (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=114165&page=6) crossover. Comments appreciated.

Chapter 2:

To say that Masaki Tanaka woke up would not be entirely correct. Instead, as soon as he closed his eyes, he found himself bolt upright, with his eyes open again. Masaki looked around him, noticing that he was standing in a familiar stairwell, the one leading to the roof of his old high school.

“My school… but why would I be here… unless…”, Masaki thought, and immediately looked down at himself.

He was wearing his old school uniform, and his body appeared to be that of his 18-year old self. It seemed impossible, but, unless this was a dream, the only other possibility that he could see was the had gone back in time.

Masaki’s musings were interrupted by the sound of a female voice sobbing coming from the top of the stairs. That wasn’t all, the voice sounded familiar. Masaki immediately rushed up the first flight of stairs, then turned around to the landing, where he stood face to face with….

“Yoshino-san?”, Masaki asked, “are you alright?”

“Oh…. Tanaka-kun”, Rika Yoshino said, trying to hide her tears, “Is lunch break over already? I… I’m ok, I just… I…”. As Rika tried to finish the sentence, her voice trailed away.

In any normal situation, Masaki wouldn’t have pushed the issue. After all, he didn’t know Rika that well, but something in his head told him that do just that.

“Yoshino-san”, Masaki said, “I don’t mean to be intrusive, but have you… well, lost someone who was important to you?”

“What? Did someone… I mean… well, yes…”, Rika said.

“I’m sorry for your loss”, Masaki said, still guided by this new instinct he seemed to have gained in the few hours since he made the contract with that ‘Kyubey’, “You know, I lost someone close to me too, about a year ago, so, I know how it feels. You can talk to me about it if you want”.

“Really?”, Rika asked. Even through her tears, Masaki thought he detected a slight note of curiosity.

“It was only about a year ago”, Masaki said, “My childhood friend, this girl I had known for as long has remembered… well, she died one morning. She was on the way to school, on a crowded train platform, when she… she was pushed off right as the train pulled into the platform… the police said… said it was an accident, simply been pushed off by someone in the crowd jostling about… “

Little did Rika know, this story was a highly modified version of her own tragic future, altered into an accident to make it more realistic for a girl of Rika’s age.

“I didn’t find out until later that day”, Masaki said, “I heard about the death on the local news. I felt angry of course, that people could be so careless as to push an innocent girl to her death. But also like I should have been there… If I had, I could have been able to grab her hand or somehow save her life”.

“You… Your just like m…me then”, Rika said through sobs, “This guy… An older guy in university, he was my tutor, but we grew close…. I kind of …. I… think I liked him… He died last night… killed in a hit and run... Its just like you said… I feel like I should have been able to stop it…”

As soon as Rika finished speaking, Masaki’s new “instinct” told him to place his hand on Rika’s shoulder.

As he placed his hand on her shoulder, Masaki said, “I understand it’s difficult, but you can’t just lose yourself in grief like this. Your friend… he wouldn’t want to get caught up on what might have been. He’d want you to move on….”

Rika wiped her tears from her eyes, and said, “Th…Thank you Masaki-kun… I wish I could have gotten to know you under better circumstances. You… you’re really… “

Not finding the words to express her emotions, Rika wrapped her arms tightly around Masaki’s waist. Masaki was momentarily surprised by her actions, but did not show it. Instead, he returned Rika’s embrace, feeling her press her tear-stained into his shoulder.

After several Masaki and Rika broke apart. Rika looked up at him, her eyes still bloodshot and her face still tear-stained, though she was no longer crying.

“Thank… you, Masaki-kun”, Rika said, “I… I’ll remember what you said… “

“Don’t mention it”, Masaki said, “I couldn’t just leave you there like that when you were obviously in pain.”

After looking at him for a few seconds, Rika said, “Ex... Excuse me”, she said, “Class starts in about 15 minutes… I have to get cleaned up… I’ll talk to you again some time, Masaki-kun”. After she finished her sentence, Rika turned to walk down the stairs to the girls bathroom.

“Talk to you later, Yoshino-san”, Masaki called after her, before waiting a few minutes before descending the stairwell.

As Masaki crossed the threshold into the stairwell, he spotted a familiar furry white creature standing on top of the railing on the staircase.

“Kyubey?”, Masaki asked.

“So”, the creature said, “I take it you appreciate the results?”

“Well”, Masaki replied, “I didn’t expect you to kill that guy, and I won’t deny that I suspect you might be manipulating Rika’s behavior, but…”

“It is for the greater good?”, Kyubey asked.

“Exactly”, Masaki said, “For the greater good”.

“Then I am glad that my services have been to your satisfaction”, Kyubey said, “But tonight, it will be your turn to uphold your end of the deal. Go to the Tokyo University hospital, in the alley near the children’s wing. There, you will find a witch I want eliminated.”

“Got it, I’ll be there after school. You get me Rika, and I’ll deal with as many of these witches as you want.”, Masaki replied.

As Masaki walked back towards his classroom, he had no idea just how different his definition of “the greater good” was from Kyubey’s. If he had known, he would have realized that he should have never made that contract.

Also, kinda drawing a blank with regards to whether or not to use witches from the series to make guest appearances, and if not, designs for original witches. Also, as for Puer Magi Masaki, I was planning on arming him with a longsword and buckler, and having his outfit appear as a some sort of medieval style plate armor. Initially, he will not know about the full abilities of the buckler, which is very similar to Homura's but I was thinking of having him learn of it. Not sure whether to have him discover it on his own or actually run into Homura, who informs him of the full power of the buckler, and soon after, Masaki starts imitating her weapon-collecting methods. Any thoughts on all this?

Also, if Puer Magi seems a bit OP in the later parts of fic with both a magic weapon and a modern firearms, and time manipulation, I might remind you that he will start going more an more along Sayaka's path, having made the contract (as one of a few males to Kyubey found with a high enough "despair level") to go back in time to his highschool days and save the life of his unrequieted high school crush, Rika Yoshino, who died years later due to a long series of events that started with her being rendered sterile. This in turn led to her promiscuity in university, which, in Masaki's eyes set her up as a victim. Masaki makes the contract to be sent back in time and end up dating her in high school instead, only to end up being the guy who impregnates Rika and leads to the botched abortion and restarting the chain of events that led to her death. After that happens though, not sure whether I should somehow work this back into a happy ending, or just continue it onto Masaki's inevitable Sayaka-esque fate.

Once again, any constructive criticism is appreciated.

There isn't too much to talk about for now.
We know the setting...well kind of.
The most important part right now are the characters.
Sayaka and Kyoko are covered for now, let's see where it goes from here.

I wish I could properly arrange the character tags... as I feel like im making false advertisement with the arrangement and will face an angry mob in the future.

well for starters, it might take a while, as im also working on my other fanfic.
one thing though, is that I intend, or usually do if you've seen my other fic, alternate the character perspectives. first chapter is from sayaka's view, next one will likely be homura's. also its not just those two, the others will have their point of views seen.

The story gets intriguing.I'm looking forward to the interaction between Homura and Sayaka,
Anyway,I belive Mami/Homura-san is wrong and it should either be Mami/Homura-chan or Tomoe/Akemi-san.

I think Homura cares more about the other girls then she knows.
She did more for them, then she had to.
This could be interesting later on,like Homura trys to kill Sayaka ,but can't go through with it.

hmm I guess so, what I intended there was mainly just to highlight homura and mami's name... I doubt the chan part is viable though, mami doesnt seem the type to call that affectionately to someone, especially since this homura is nothing like the moemura one...

eh I'll keep it like this, its been like a month so its not that strange for mami and homura to be a bit more familiar with each other.

I'm just here to pimp someone else's fanfiction on another forum. It's complete, and hosted on the Sufficient Velocity forums. Called "Speak of the Devil", it's a crossover with Vertigo comics. It's set Post-Rebellion Story, and Homura has a chance encounter with Lucifer himself.

And then things get complicated.

It's an idea with potential, but my consideration would be that the Incubators vastly, vastly, VASTLY outclass humanity in technological potential, and they directly control our access to magic.

The most realistic scenario is that humanity advances to a technological singularity and greets the Incubators as equals....then destroys them. Violently.

not to mention that they only allow certain humans to see them aka potential magical girls.

indeed, you'd need to get to really far off into the future where humanity has advanced so much in technology that they can detect the kyubeys... by then though, our main girls would be dead and its debatable how much damage the earth may suffer from all the witches and magical girls that will happen for the time being.

alternatively, you have some magical girl make a wish to make the kyubeys visible to all humans(or have madoka/homura do it through their own powers).

Well, my idea was that a potential magical girl makes a wish for certain SciFi technologies, which are then downloaded into her brother's head. Fast forward about three months to the time of the end of the series, and a U.S. Navy cruiser, equipped with new experimental weapons and detection systems, detects is and launches a missiles strike on Walpurgisnacht, killing it outright or damaging in enough for one of the Magical Girls to finish it off.

This reveals witches to the wider wold, and the Incubators offer humanity the ultimatum to submit to energy farming or be annihilated. When humanity, or at least parts of it, reject this offer, a plague of Eldrich horrors are unleashed on the world, killing several percent of the population. The Kuybeys proceed to attempt to then destroy/enslave humanity in the most energy-efficient way possible.

From there, a secret organization is formed among resisting nations, utilizing Magic, the SciFi tech, guts, and duct tape to fight the influx of witches, demons, and other things. Basically, its PMMM with hints of X-Com, Gurren Laggan, Evangelion, and a bunch of other things.

Of course, were all probably playig into tzeentch's Kuybey's hand anyway...

Oh, you're that Heir of the Void. I've been reading your works since I found your Arpeggio of Blue Steel fic on Fanfic do net. I am quite impressed so far with Creature of Shadow. Really liking how Tomohisa Kaname goes badass and hoping Homura will play a major role in the war on Incubators.

Still, one thing I have to say: I hope your inclusion of that Seraph mech doesn't foreshadow it becoming stupidly OP and the "be all and end all of future warfare" like some mecha become. Really starts to irritate me, IDK, maybe I can't willingly suspend disbelief enough, but in truth, the human body is about the worst design for a vehicle you could think of for most scenarios. Still, in this case, I suspect is is justified by Maria's wish modifying the universe to allow it. Still, I'd like to see more advanced weapons systems for the Creature of Shadow universe, such as fighter jets, tanks, warships etc.

Finally, I hope you don't give up your Gokukoku no Brynhildr fic. I quite like that one as well (Yes, this is the same 119 who commented on SEALs in the Darkness on fanfic.net. Still, I suspect the Arpeggio of Blue Steel and Infinite Stratos fics are dead in the water. Am I correct?

Wow, glad to see a familar face around here. Yes, I am that HotV. I'm glad your enjoyig this story so far, as I've put a lot of thought into it. I had fun turing Madoka's Dad into a badass (or something approaching that), and he's had more screen time in two approaches here than into the entire anime. Next chapter, Kamijou (Violin Boy) gets volunteered into the Japanese Naval Infantry, seting him up for his own adventure. Homura will play a major role in this story, despite the fact that she so darn hard to write.

The Seraphim will not be OP, but it will be a powerful weapons system, perhaps moreso than it has any right to be...

Ahem. That bit of ominous muttering aside, the Seraphim will by no means be the be-all end-all of the human war effort. Fighter Jets, tanks, surface warships, helicopters, and other conventional war machines will be the mainstay of the human war effort. I'm familiar with the problems with mecha as practical war systems, but everything that happens happens for a reason, or, if you prefer, the MST3K mantra.

I'm also working on my Gokukoku no Brynhildr fic, and don't plan on giving up on that. My three areas of focus for right now are Creature of Shadow, SEALs in the Darkness, and Void Wings of Freedom. The others, I'm afraid, are on hiatus. And we all know that means dead.

If you could leave a comment on FF.net, that would be great if its not too much trouble, as one of the nuggets of wisdom my Beta has imparted to me, along with the fact the shipping Madoka characters with (male) OCs tends to piss people off, is that this story needs more reviews to be taken seriously.

Thanks for reading.

I really doubt that. I don't think there would be much difference between the two at that point. Incubators are a good example of what mankind might be like in a post-humanity scenario like the singularity.

You know what I might like to see a little in a fic? Let’s try a deliberate counter to that widespread “Perverted Homura” meme by making Homura horribly embarrassed/shy/nervous at the mere mention of sex and "naughty" stuff (a leftover of her original moe-moe personality, perhaps?)

Random Madoka Magica crossover inspired by a musing on hated fictional characters.

Specifically Kyubey, I can think of only a few other fictional characters as hated by the fan base, not just anime mind you, fictional. One of the most well known of these is probably Joffrey Baratheon from the TV series Game of Thrones/ Song of Ice and Fire Books, and it's these two that inspired this.

This idea concerns my crack thoughts on what would happen if the two most hated characters described above met, and, naturally, Joffrey, like most humans, would not even notice Kyubey was there, and Kyubey would instead be naturally be drawn to the potential Puella Magi/thermodynamic-exempt despair reactor that is Sansa Stark...

So, this crack crossover that, knowing my record with fics, may never be written was born, if anyone cares. The thing will likely consist of a series of one-shots, each with a different character, including the cast of Game of Thrones, plus at least one OC from the peasant classes.

An Incubator in a New World (Working Title)

Plot synopsis: Kyubey ends up in the world of Game of Thrones, and makes contracts with a number of potential despair powerhouses. Very easy to find in spite of the lower population, given that it is a very bad fictional universe to live in!- rampant poverty, pre-industrial feudal society, oppressed peasant underclass, constant warfare, average life expectancy ~35 etc. The initial "trailer below:"

Note: any errors with regard to astrophysics with regard to planet description are my bad- let me know and I will try to fix them as best I can. This is mostly intended as Incubator technobabble.

Urgent Transmission from Incubator Harvesting Unit 90842 "Kyubey", assigned to Harvesting Planet 5357 "Earth":

Whilst the meddling of Subject 5357-9246467 and Subject 5347-9246464, "Madoka Kaname" and "Homura Akemi" respectively, has led to the failure of the sealing operation, severe interferences with the time stream, as well as the effective loss of many field operatives, this has resulted in unforeseen impacts which may be beneficial.

Specifically, the space-time fluctuations resultant from Subject 5347-9246464's restructuring of the continuum have led to the creation of numerous stable interdimensional portals. These rifts in the space-time continuum appear to be unintentional on the part of the subject, who does not appear to be aware of them.

Sapient life forms suitable for harvesting operations have been detected in the first portal explored, and the stability to of this would allow for easy interuniversal transfer of gathered energy, potentially enough to deal with present crisis. These rifts would also allow for easy evacuation of Incubator race to another universe in event of "heat death" or catastrophic space-time failure.

Statistics on planet tentatively designated Unexplored World B*-001:

*Author's note: Referring to Universe B- the second universe (or first parallel universe) after the main Madoka Magica universe) discovered by the Incubators, AKA the Game of Thrones universe. "A" refers to main PMMM universe.

Class: 3-Terrestrial

Planetary and Orbital Characteristics: Third in a series of seven planets orbiting two class C stars. UW B-001 appears to transfer unpredictably between orbits of both stars, whose gravitational fields cause severe variation in orbital distance. Combined with severe axial tilt results in anomalously long unpredictable seasons, with winter and summer seasons often lasting between three and ten years.

Planet is a Class 3 Terrestrial planet with a single natural satellite uninhabited by any life forms. All continents except for fifth continent (positioned around the south pole) inhabited.

Sapient Indigenous Population: Species remarkably similar to inhabitants of HP-A-5357* "Earth" (self-designated "Homo sapiens/humans"). Many non-sapient species also similar to Earth (potential interdimensional contact in the distant past cannot be ruled out).

Indigenous population possess a per-industrial technology level on par with that of HP-A-5357 roughly 800 to 1000 cycles prior to present (designated "Middle Ages" by H-A-5357 population). Strangely, some organizations, as well as a two subspecies in the northern parts of the continent designated "Westeros" seem to possess some knowledge of fundamental forces which power our technology, albeit a very primitive one. However, their understanding of these forces is so primitive that they pose no threat to harvesting operations.

Societal structure resembles same period, with majority of the population belonging to an impoverished peasant underclass ruled over by a relatively small number of the ruling elite. Most government is feudal in nature, and even within nominally unified kingdoms, there is frequent warfare as rival factions fight for supremacy.

Given the primitive society, world population hovers around 20 million, however, the violent, primitive society has resulted energy yields not seen on Earth in over 700 cycles, meaning exponentially energy yields per harvesting subject.

Harvesting Potential: High

Little snippet I came up with. I know it makes little or no sense in canon since A) Magical Girls self-repair their bodies completely, with no scarring, and B) Homura's body is 'reset' every time she rewinds time, but let's just say those aren't the case here:

Madoka and Mami headed for the bathing room of this little inn, half-dragging Homura along with them. The elder Puella Magi's attitude towards Homura had warmed noticeably ever since Madoka had relayed to her something that the dark-haired girl had confessed to her: that she was so cold and emotionless because she was actively suppressing her emotions due to how much pain she carried. Mami had quickly put two & two together, realizing that Homura was probably holding in enough despair and loss to consume her (Mami didn't know how literal that choice of phrase really was) if she ever let it out, and reasoned that the girl was so cold and aloof and pragmatic because all the trust and idealism had been beaten out of her by ill fortune, much like Kyouko. She had thus started acting nicer to the girl, and it had in fact shown a bit of effect in how Homura treated her in response.

The three of them were here, toward the outskirts of Mitakihara, to investigate rumblings of a fairly high-level Witch in the area. However, it seemed to only be detectable when doing something, rather than being a constant sensable 'beacon' like other Witches, so they had to wait. They had swung by this inn to rest for a little while, and Mami had insisted on all of them washing up properly. So it was that the three girls found themselves here.

"Come on, Homura-chan" Madoka said with a smile, as she and Mami disrobed. "You can't clean yourself if you have all those clothes on."

"I... I am fine..." Homura said, looking a teensy bit uncharacteristically nervous (as well as faintly blushing at two nude girls in front of her).

"We're all girls here, Akemi-san" Mami said in the tone of a patient older sister or mother. "There's nothing to be ashamed of."

In the back of their minds, the two girls felt a twinge of curiosity. Homura was always wearing long-sleeved shirts, a long skirt with near-opaque stockings, and high-necked outfits, meaning they'd never even actually seen her bare torso or upper limbs. 'She's probably pale from lack of sun exposure, and self-conscious' about that' Mami thought.

After a few seconds, Homura took a deep breath. Turning away from the two other girls, she used her magic to make her clothing, except for her panties, come undone and drop away all at once.

The girls' smiles dropped off their faces. Mami let out a shuddering gasp, and within seconds Madoka was close to tears. Mami and Kyouko had a couple of battle-scars here and there, that much had been seen. But not like this.

Homura was covered with scars, all over her back and with some on her arms and legs. Long thin scars from blade strikes, puncture wounds from stabs or projectiles, jagged scars from where flesh was torn by claws or fangs, bite-mark scars on her lower-right back and the back & side of her left thigh, at least two third-degree burn scars... She turned to face them, revealing that the front of her body was just as bad - the tree-branch pattern of an electrical burn, more slashes and punctures and jagged gashes marring her chest, flanks, and stomach as well as her upper arms & legs, as well as a couple on her neck, a set of third-degree burn scars on her lower-right chest and upper stomach that looked like claw marks, a long thin surgical scar down the center of the chest, between her meager breasts, at least two 'smaller' scars that started on her lower belly and disappeared beneath the waistband of her panties...

A 14-year-old girl's body shouldn't look like this...

"H... Homura-chan..." Madoka whispered, eyes wide with horror and wet with tears, with Mami not much better.

"Take a good look, Madoka" Homura said, a hint of sadness to her normally-icy tone. "This is what a veteran Magical Girl looks like."

If anyone wants to pick up where this leaves off, expand on it or make it into a proper fic of its own, go right ahead.

Watching Alien 3 the Director's Cut, you actually got to see the indominatable Ellen Ripley actually hesitate and consider accepting Bishop 2's offer of having the beast within her removed, and was about to take his hand when he told her "you could have a family; children. You can have a life"

She WANTED to live, to love, hope, dream and be happy, when doing the so called "right" thing will deny her that chance. :(

She had EVERY right to agree to Bishop's Bargain; the universe owes her at least THAT much for her heroism.... Making her final refusal to do so all the more heartbreakingly noble.

What if, just what if, as the doomed astronaut is about to take that final step, Kyubey appears to offer her life that The Universe and Fate Herselr seems hell-bent to conspire to deny her of?

And what if she MAKES that wish....?

If there's anyone here who can tolerate it, I would like someone to brainstorm some ideas I have regarding a version of the Madokaverse where girls become fat as part of their contracts and fight flesh-eating monsters called Esurientes. If anyone's interested, or at least willing, I'll keep everything either behind a spoiler tag or in PMs.

(And yes, I know I've already got a fic of that sort somewhere out there, but that was something I commissioned for; this is something I'd like to write myself.)
