Nah, as I've state it being off-topic, it's just a comparison and guessing what influence the production a second season for Hagure and Shinmai. Sorry for the trouble.

You are right the problem is the fact that other then Mio the first time its consensual. With Akatsuki its almost pure assault and other stuff. Very little of it is consensual and even from a fanservice perspective they push the envelope too far. There's a scene that would appear in the anime if a season 2 occurred where Haruka (the stuco president and miyu) are drunk off an aphrodisiac and akatsuki has to suck the alcohol out through moles and Akatsuki pretty much forces himself on it.

While I don't want to get into yes mean no and no means yes and other such arguments, as a third party that can look at it objectively, most of the girls in Hagure like him but are tsundere, its like the guy said the thing that makes it cross the line is the appearance of willingness not actual willingness.

Plus you also have the double standard of what a male does is automatically viewed negatively but not what a female does. Just take shinmai most of Maria actions are well over the line, but because its a female doing it to a male its usually viewed as okay. Or how about Chisato, she is basically an older women in a position of authority kind of taking advantage of the situation, but thats okay because hot for teacher and stuff.

That is why Shinmai is a complete flip where the women are made the aggressors and the male made more placid, where Hagure was flipped, because society views the one more favorable than the other.

And of course the author can't have both parties be aggresive because that would quickly lead to hentai, which is no no.

Objectively shinami is more questionable work, but I feel like the author learned from Hagure and took advantage of a few real life tropes to get away with it. Kind of like another wily old bastard of To Love Ru fame, except he uses the old accidentally situaiton, but arguably Rito has done a lot worse than Akatsuki, but if its an accident its okay too.

He is essentialy funneling everything into shinmai. No idea what the comparative sales figures are, but going by purely anime numbers shinmai did well enough to get a second season this did not.

Seems a shame to leave one for the other. May as well just turn this into an out and out hentai and see if it can still get numbers with the adult tag.

Yeah shinmai was 2 cour from the beginning. Its sales for season one were okay, but nothing great, def. not enough to make a third season a guarantee or even likely.

oh man i just finished reading V.11. its mostly focuses on MC and the leader of scarlet dusk, cecil
"long story short, they fought because cecil wanted to see how much Mc has grown since 2 years ago. Deal is, if MC can steal cecil's underwear again(he did it 2 years ago, which caused cecil to be interested in him, romantically)then she will accept him as a man worthy of her. They fight and finally MC did steal it, continue a bit then they stopped. At this point cecil cant take it and wanted to have sex with MC, of course our MC immediately go for it. While in the middle of kissing, touching, and undressing. they talked about this new group called OZ, thats going around killing scarlet dusk and cocoon members. cecil warns MC to be careful, just when they were about to go all the way, they sense a guy in their room, its one of the OZ members(arrogant)he seems to know our MC. at this point MC is way piss, since this OZ member just ruined his intimate time with cecil. volume ends here)btw, the OZ member is the guy with the long hair and robot/armor looking arms, u can see him in one of the images included in V.11, he seems to be cracking his knuckle(prbly ready to fight MC and cecil)1 last thing, theres nothing between cecil and MC's dad, MC asked cecil, and she quickly replied its strickly leader to follower type of thing. Since MC's dad is the founder of scarlet dusk. Yea... I would much rather see this translated. Hate has a very strong manga translation effort that k hate to use the term "good enough" but... Yea. At this point the manga is far enough ahead and going forward well enough that something like Hagure which for all intents and purposes been abandoned, could really use some love.

Every person that has visited otherworld has more affinity to develop the ability. Furthermore, if that person has chance to go otherworld once again, he/she become more even powerful.

Yeah, it's main the story aftermath of Alleyzard and build up for next plots. I don't know whether you found this unrelated or not but I think there are several good information.

Anyway, for summary of volume 6 chapter 1:

- Haruka together with Ryohei and Minami was doing server maintenance. While she's doing it, she was too checking the log of Dimensional Shift but to her surprise, nothing logged.
- Haruka remembered that Kaidou said "this is city legend (toshidensetsu) that people who already summoned to otherworld cannot be logged again by Babel system." So Haruka thought if this correct, at very least there's a log about Listy coming to their world but nothing logged.
- When in elevator, Minami said to Haruka has become more sensual (iroppoi) but Haruka said it's just her imagination. Haruka said maybe because she had her hair cut yesterday. Actually, after coming back from Alleyzard, Haruka did go to beauty parlor because she spent for one month in Alleyzard.
- Haruka decided that she'll resign her position as vice president of SC and chief of PMC of JPN Babel.

- Kaidou met with Memeko (I forgot the surname) and reported his journey to Alleyzard to her.
- From him, the "city legend" he had told everyone actually not just legend but actual info, not to mention only scant people who should know this info.

- Memeko was going to attack Akatsuki by suddenly moved behind him only to be stopped by Kaidou, said to her "Please stop it, he's my friend" with her reply "I put this as your debt Kaidou-san".
- Kaidou stopped her not because he's worry about Akatsuki but she will be retaliated by Akatsuki himself if Kaidou didn't stop her.
- After Memeko left, now Kaidou asked Akatsuki with scary expression of how far Akatsuki heard their conversation. He said, "According to what Akatsuki heard, it'll be bloodbath here" but Akatsuki said honestly that he couldn't hear any conversation and when he came closer, Memeko noticed his presence.
- Kaidou saw no lies in Akatsuki's words so he stopped his scary expression but Akatsuki after that asking another thing.
- He asked whether Kaidou will kill Haruka if any chance Haruka reported her finding to Babel. If Kaidou thought so, Akatsuki said he will kill Kaidou mercilessly.
- Kaidou didn't answer directly replied that he's pacifist, what Akatsuki asked to him was only possibility but then now Haruka is in Akatsuki's camp, he wouldn't do things that flashy.

Yeah, after reading chapter 2 I maybe think the same with translator back then. Chapter 2 is story around Onizuka and Tiana Randelhaus. This Tiana is kinda annoying but she's actually member of Scarlet Dusk.

Chapter 3 is the same but a bit better because this time the story around Akatsuki and how he met Cecil. Cecil Endheart (not sure, maybe Einhart? )
Akatsuki wanted to eat something but since it was in deep night, about 2 o'clock, he couldn't ask Miyu to cook for him. So he thought of eating outside. The food he wanted to eat is octo-fried (takoyaki). I remembered that some convenience stores had food corner and it should provide octo-fried there.

Unfortunately, Akatsuki could only buy for 1 portion even though he wanted 2 because that's the last supply and he had to wait for the staff cooked for him.

While waiting, came a very beautiful lady. She looked at Akatsuki and Akatsuki looked at her too. Recognizing that gaze, she smiled and afterward came to register staff to order a octo-fried too. But the staff couldn't reply properly because of paralyzed of her beauty so Akatsuki came near her and explained she wouldn't get any. Akatsuki said he'll share the portion with her.

Actually, some operative agents actually where lurking around that store because they wanted to retrieve P-cell that stolen from their lab. After confirming the carrier, one agent hurled emp-bomb into the store and kidnap the carrier.

Actually Akatsuki didn't want to pursue those guys but he remembered something important. The octo-fried that he really wanted was spoiled by smoke and dust and that made him angry.

He pursued the van that those agents use with Sleipnir together with Cecil.

Long story short, Akatsuki rode to in front of them using guard rail running along horizontally of the sea at outer tunnel. Lastly the car wrecked and he throw those agents to sea. He said, "Go fetch some materials for me because you guys spoiled the last portion I really wanted." He realized that Cecil already not there anymore without Akatsuki realized.

Phew, the summary already short but I wrote the usual "long story short" line :heh:

For epilog, this is kinda interesting because there are some information about previous chapter.
Cecil is actually the captain of Scarlet Dusk (I guess it's already known :heh: )
P-cell actually Phoenix-cell. Phoenix is higher dimensional being and its cell was harnessed secretly by Japanese government.

G7 actually dictated that every info/research regarding otherworld should only through Cocoon and any independence research is forbidden. Not to mention the research that trying to harness the power of higher dimensional being. So Japanese action for harnessing its power should have harsh backlash to government.

But the strange turn of events is, the cell not actually brought outside but carried inside Babel's special region jurisdiction.

Cecil thought, Hikami Kyouya was the mastermind of this and he's doing this secretively too from other core Cocoon's members.

Cecil remembered his meeting with Akatsuki. She thought Akatsuki's level still below Memeko and/or Kaidou. She thought Kaidou or Memeko could still win against her but not Akatsuki.
While thinking that, she met with weird old man (in chapter 1) in park. She asked his permission to recruit some teenager but that old man, Ousawa Gouki, said the captain is her now so no need to ask some permission. Cecil said that teenager is Akatsuki, Gouki said it's even no reason for her because he thought nothing of Akatsuki.

From Norman Check, he thought Akatsuki maybe gaining some powerful ability but he's disappointed after looked. Cecil said if the comparison to him, of course not even Akatsuki is on par with him.

So after her business ended, Gouki too was to leave but Cecil now realized something and laugh about it. Gouki asked something happened and Cecil only answered simply in affirmative. Gouki didn't ask anymore.

Cecil actually realized, something was disappear from her but when did Akatsuki steal it?
So she's correcting her thought about Akatsuki's power level because even she didn't realized.

In the home, Akatsuki displaying the bra he stole in his desk. As a good remembrance for nice night outing and meeting a beautiful woman.

In his bed, this time Miyu and Listy sleeping together in his bed and some space between them. Akatsuki thought they purposely did that because that's Akatsuki's space. The space was in the middle of Miyu and Listy.

For chapter 2 volume 9, I just read about part 3 (reading while translating making my reading pace so slow)
part 1 and 2 about Tiana vs Kyouya. In this part explained the Tiana's conceptual ability which named "Order Draw"
ability to pull any object that directly registered into her recognition memory.

Kyouya actually wanted to test more about his new power so he didn't use his conceptual power. His conceptual power was named "Double Delete" (written as 対極消滅). It was the actualization of two most contrast power disposition (ice and fire).
Since he grasped the situation within JPN Babel thanks to tapping Miyu's power, he knew where Tiana ran but when he saw Akatsuki went to Miyu's position, he smiled and thought it didn't matter which, whether Tiana or Akatsuki. He wanted the enemy where he could test his new power.

Meanwhile, Tiana was running away while carrying Onizuka, but due to severe Onizuka's injury, his body temperature dropped significantly. Tiana put him down and took the cylindrical case from her pocket. Within that there were Phoenix cells which gave glimmering scarlet. At first she was conflicted whether this was the right thing to do because it's possible the living body would reject the foreign object and broke his body completely and another thing, if he was saved, he would have to live from now on as a monster because of semi immortality. But Tiana decides that she wanted Onizuka alive, she broke the cells to liquid state, put it in her mouth and kiss Onizuka while let him drank the liquefied Phoenix cells.

In that time too, JP Govt decided to launch cluster nuke missile. But Babel tower "removed" the threat with light (beam) attack. And continued with another attack to nuclear powered submarines JP Govt had.

Michael Arkwood and Lytia Crusch saw that from satellite camera real-time and was going to depart from Heathrow airport.

The last, the fight between Akatsuki and Kyouya finally started.

The last resort Kaidou took was aiming his chain to Miyu, seeing that Kyouya immediately protect Miyu, and it gave Kaidou some opening in Kyouya's, he took knife from his pocket after grabbing it in some kitchen, and slashed Kyouya's neck.

Kaidou thought Kyouya was finished, after that he saw Kyouya as if Kyouya was unwinding himself. The every spilled blood rushed back to Kyouya and even the the sign of slashed neck.

Kaidou defeated too. After Kaidou defeated, the link between JPN Babel and outer connection was reconnected, Kyouya thought maybe Kaidou didn't intend to appear immediately but after seeing that Kyouya was going to finish Akatsuki, he had to come out before the link reconnected.
With that connection, Kyouya made appeal to everyone in the world that he had acquire ability that able to put a leash on COCOON and Scarlet Dusk, he even leaked a file about Y Project, the official name was Yahweh Project.

Before Chikage gave that suggestion, Listy mentioned that Akatsuki-reverted-to-child was happened once in Alleyzard. She said Akatsuki became smaller because of overuse of Inner Energy Manipulation and he was healed after some time.
But the current Akatsuki didn't even remember how to use Inner Energy Manipulation so Chikage suggested that, even Akatsuki didn't remember but it wasn't necessarily the memory itself was lost but maybe was hidden in response of Akatsuki's child form.

In this scene that eventually lead to bath-scene, Miu really did some cruel things but those were purely what she thought of helping others :heh:
In bath-scene, the girls were Haruka, Listy, and Miu. All of them "came" for several times after Akatsuki sucking their breast.
The last was "Oneechan, can I...?" somehow to question whether to okay or not to "insert" his "thing" to Miyu but from outside, Chikage told, "If you get out bath, there's ice cream for you.", Akatsuki immediately went outside bathroom :heh:

Kuzuha finally confessed that it maybe her fault that Akatsuki became like this but their home was attacked with fire magic. Thankfully Miu made wind barrier to protect their home.
Outside, there were about 30 people labeling Akatsuki betrayer because of him they were losing their home, JPN Babel. Those guys consisted with many A class members.
Miu and others couldn't attack them because it would make Akatsuki's position worse.
Another group came to help, many members of it were B class members.

Miu and others except Kuzuha, fought to stop the fighting because any worse it became irreversible outcome. Kuzuha finally cried because she felt useless once again and told to Akatsuki what her feeling. Akatsuki finally became big again, told Kuzuha whether she's that worry about age difference.
Lastly Akatsuki kissed Kuzuha deeply until Kuzuha herself that stopped it. Kuzuha finally understood that Akatsuki saw her as a woman too, not a child.

vol 10 chapter 2: God Mother's Invasion

When Akatsuki was playing around Haruka's body, to teach her that he's not that such dignified person as Haruka thought, there was someone called him by phone.
At first Akatsuki said jokingly like "Is this new `it's me` conning?" to Chikage that picked the phone for him, he immediately knew that person after talking in the phone.
Her name was Arashinomiya
She told Akatsuki that she would come to that island in three days.

Akatsuki and the girls came to hotel where Arashinomiya was.
When the girls knew that Arashinomiya was in highest floor of that hotel, they immediately understood that was royal suite, which the price for each night easily surpass 2 million yen.
Listy and Miyu too understood she was the person that Akatsuki talking in before (in vol. 6 when they enquired where Akatsuki got money for their living cost, he said there was once he won the bet against some woman and the prize of it should enough for them to accommodate their living cost).
Just before came to that floor, Miyu wanted to go to toilet, Listy and Kuzuha then accompanied her. Between the girls, individual activity should avoided when outside the home.
Miyu, Listy and Kuzuha met some granny in wheelchair with young girl who pushes that wheelchair.
Those three thought, maybe that granny was Arashinomiya because the impressing aura those two gave out.

As soon Miyu finished her thing, just outside the women toilet there were several men in uniform wanted to attack them but the girls swiftly suppressed them easily. The girls thought those men could actually targeting Arashinomiya.

In the royal suite room, there were the granny and young girl that Miyu saw them before.

That young girl was actually Arashinomiya Yoshiko instead of that granny in wheelchair, (嵐ノ宮貴子, 嵐ノ宮 this part Arashinomiya is obvious, but I don't know how to read 貴子 as name, the second part reading it as "ko", but the first kanji is usually what you find in 貴方 (anata) and 貴殿 (kiden, an archaic way to address second person), it could be, Ako, Kyoko, Yoshiko, Takako, hmm)
This Arashinomiya was the person who has many companies (incorporation) and could be said the one who controlling economy from the shadow.
She was in artificial body, known as cyborg (not made from metal of course ;) ) purely the product of scientific research.
She too had many scientific/medical laboratories and that artificial body was one product from one of laboratories.
But since the body wasn't absolutely completed, the granny body was there to improve the nervous signals work. When Arashinomiya cut it completely, the granny was as if the doll cut from the string.

This part where Akatsuki and Arashinomiya debating about Akatsuki's action defeating one of COCOON also the future plan for this island.
Just like 4 country conference in Alleyzard, Akatsuki wonderfully handled this too with the end result was Arashinomiya's assistance for the island such as companies, expertise, politics and moving the essential resources to support the artificial island.

But Arashinomiya then gave some condition to secure her cooperation, she would cooperate if the girls (Miyu and others) passed her test.
Akatsuki immediately protested with loud voice but Miyu and others weere able to convince Akatsuki to let them taking Arashinomiya's test.
Haruka added with question to Kurono Ai (黒野亜衣), (don't you think Kurono would be cool to write it as Chrono? :heh: ) the Japan branch president of Albazen Optical company.
Ai said, since Haruka speficically asked it to her, so Haruka knew the hidden business of her company.
Haruka explained, Albazen was the rival company for magical tools maker that supplying for JPN Babel so Haruka knew that. Also the cooperation of Albazen should be crucial for the future fight against COCOON.
Akatsuki gave up with hard feeling, and before he went outside the room, he told the girls to not do excessive and just take it easily.

After Akatsuki and Ai went outside, Arashinomiya said to the girls that she didn't like them.
She honestly felt their existence purely a hindrance to Akatsuki, especially in the Kyouya's case. She intuitively knew that Akatsuki had to make that blatant fight because of the girls.
So she said to them to die, because even if they're taking some distance from Akatsuki, they still could be kidnapped and gave Akatsuki more trouble.
Shen said to them, even to this day, Akatsuki never let his guard down, and what he said about "new way to `it's me` conning?" also the tactic that made Arashinomiya let her guard down.
In contrast to Akatsuki, the girls didn't seem to be prepared enough. She took off some small container within her sleeve and said the bottle contained with some virus developed from her laboratories, only she could provide the vaccine, so it was proved that the girls let their guard down.
Miyu asked for some chance so Arashinomiya was to give them the test.
The test was, she told they should choose one among them who would be the most hindrance to Akatsuki in the future and kill her.
Arashinomiya gave them 3 hours to decide.

Akatsuki was in rooftop together with Ai (Kurono Ai) with her explaining about Albazen company.
Albazen company worked as magical tools maker which exclusively using ability from this world.
The existed magic in Akatsuki's world was very small compared to magic that used by people who come back from alternative world, but didn't mean it didn't exist.
Ai explained that her glasses was magical tool too. She challenged Akatsuki to touch any part of her body. But when Akatsuki wanted to touch her, he just couldn't touch her.
Ai said that the ability she has by using her glasses was to manipulate distance between things. She manipulate her body and Akatsuki's hand so Akatsuki didn't able to touch her.
Akatsuki impressed with it and asked that Albazen cooperation should already sure even without Arashinomiya's test to the girls.
In exchange, Ai asked to Akatsuki to give her some information about someone, she gave photograph of her together with other girls.
"I want you to give me some information about this girl, Mikagami Memeko (深鏡めめこ) who a member of Scarlet Dusk since two years ago. She's previous user of this glasses."

One of maid came to inform that the result of test would be after 3 hours. That maid, Sayaka, asked whether Akatsuki wanted to give all maids the thing he did before to all of them. She said they were excited when know they're going to meet Akatsuki again.
But Akatsuki had to refuse it by saying there's something that he needed to do for awhile.
When Ai enquired him what business that he need to do by refusing a beautiful maid, Akatsuki said he must to settle a thing

Within some area where many apartments for JPN Babel students, Kaidou was talking in his phone with someone
"You see Memecchi, don't you think that poor for me for such task? I meant, hey, I know I just have to observe him but sometimes he ordered me to do things."
"It's actually poor for me to listen your whining about your homo lover for awhile."
"Aww, I totally normal guy, if I must have a lover, it should a cute girl like you Memeko."
Immediately Memeko cut the line, several second Kaidou called her again and talking various thing (I inserted that conversation above because it's funny, also that joke would be a continue in next part, also it's not about "lover" but "ordered around by" :heh: )
This part ended with Kaidou's phone ringing, and he said "Ooh, the rumored person now talking"
(This part Kaidou knew Memeko's background from Albazen and said the president of Japan branch came to visit Akatsuki, of course he knew about Arashinomiya too)

This part is discussion within Miyu and others about how to solve the test, I leave it out because nothing interesting in there ;)

Akatsuki treated Kaidou a ramen. Kaidou said to Akatsuki that it's just rare Akatsuki to invite him. Akatsuki said usually he ate with the girls so he didn't have any chance to eat with some guy friend. Especially the guy who at least equivalently powerful as him.
Kaidou said "Don't say that everything I've done is paid with ramen." with Akatsuki "of course not, I just want to talk about something with you".
Akatsuki said to Kaidou to sit in rear sit of Sleipnir but Kaidou said with as if shocked "Akki ―― you sure aren't homo right?" with Akatsuki replied "Hahaha, stop joking or I'll run you over" (this continuation joke from before :heh: )
In short, Akatsuki wanted to talk something but not in that current place, that's why he brought Sleipnir with him.
While riding too, Akatsuki asked something to Kaidou about Memeko, but Kaidou said he didn't know where she's now

The place where Akatsuki wanted to talk was the place where he and Kaidou fought at that night.
Akatsuki said he needed to finish what they started. The last fight was ended with some intervention.
Kaidou said jokingly that Akatsuki already finished Kyouya who got higher dimensional being ability, so isn't it obvious already.
Akatsuki said that defeating Kyouya didn't necessarily mean able to win against Kaidou, especially when Kaidou wasn't necessarily weaker than Kyouya.
Akatsuki said, if he won against Kaidou, he wanted Kaidou to quit Scarlet Dusk and worked together with him.
Kaidou didn't immediately refuse, asking what's in for him if he do that. Akatsuki said Kaidou would freely observe him from behind without conspicuously stand out.
That way Kaidou could fight with his heart content without anyone know, contrasted with what Akatsuki did for defeating Kyouya.
Also Akatsuki said Kaidou should feel itchy to settle their fight from before, that's why even though Kaidou didn't necessarily to observe him anymore but Kaidou still didn't leave from this island.
After Kaidou was consent with Akatsuki's reasoning, the next moment where those two fought by entering their respective zone.

The result of test, the position was changed, this time those girls that threatened Arashinomiya, and by doing that Arashinomiya should have no other choice except helping Akatsuki.
Immediately the test ended with the girls won, Akatsuki came with body full of wounds, he said he settled thing with Kaidou, so the other understood it, because they knew Kaidou at very least was on par with Akatsuki.
When Akatsuki was enquired about the result, he didn't answer and just said with laugh, the result of fight between them was only for them so Miyu didn't ask it more.
Akatsuki asked to challenge Ai once more, this time he was able to grope Ai's breast. Akatsuki explained even though the tool was very good, but it depended on user too, since Akatsuki moved his hand so fast, Ai couldn't be able to discern it so that's why Ai's ability didn't work on Akatsuki (he explained thing while groping Ai's breast, well, it's Akatsuki's usual signature :heh: )

It's not unusual for harem series to not have any sex (even implied) throughout the whole series or to only have it at the very end. I mean, look at how many volumes of DxD (arguably most popular battle harem) have already been published, yet Issei is yet to have sex with anyone.
