Every day Sakuta Gotou likes to zone out to his favorite band the Incest, because it makes him feel at ease. However, this band is very secretive and has yet to have a live performance. Now, when the chance comes to Gotou to see his idol Iive, the band's singer, on stage, he finds out that she is the new transfer student in the classroom next door... and to make this even better she stops the concert and grabs him saying, "I've wanted to see you." I find it pretty enjoyable and a bit refreshing that he is intent on being in a relationship with Ayano at the moment. Subtly, Shiori is coming on to him, but it's like her nature to be a slight tease, so I'm not so sure I can say that's 'love'. I would think it obvious he would end up with Shiori, but this being seinen, I hope that there won't be any clear cut winner. Ami(the loli) doesn't stand a chance though =0<.

Been reading this for what feels like forever cause of the slow releases, one of the bad things about picking up a series from the start when you know releases will be slow.
I find it interesting enough, the brother/sister side of it I hope actually holds up and the author doesn't pull out the "oh but they really aren't brother and sister!" thing.
The possible incest is what keeps me reading after so long:p
Love the art for this, very nice.
And will admit I do like the big boobed lass, she's really quite cute but it's all about the brother and sister for me.

One thing i found interesting was that other band member that was being a dick to the MC because of obvious reasons, and he was just taking it, though in recent chapters the harassment just stopped cuz of one little thing so that was complete undramatic end to the problem :uhoh:

It feels like forever since I read the last chapter, but apparently MU says a new one was put up 21 days ago. Must remember to read it. I love the art on this series, I'm also not crazy about Ayano or the loli, but hey, when you're up against a beautiful big sis, that's gotta be a hard contest.
I actually like the glasses girl better, but I want him to end up with his sister just to piss off the guitarist.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it's just an overreaction. Aren't they only half-siblings? That could mean that he was the other father their mother remarried. I could easily see this whole thing about her moving in with Sakuta being either her running away from home, or some kind of deal with this other father.
On the extreme side, she could be courting sexual favors, but I can't say I really expect that out of this series, given its shown content thus far.

I still don't like the little brother. He doesn't have the "spark," the "quirk," or anything that distinguishes him as an interesting main character. He's not even the fan-favorite Snarky Everyman. He's just a kid who puts on his headphone and gets dragged around by other people and events he does little about. Long lost big sister. of whom we are meant to assume he's always been longing desperately for, returns. What does he do? He acts out the most generic harem male lead responses possible. "Accidentally" groping the big tit-and-glasses classmate a few times, he gets noncommittally interested. Band dude insults him jealously; he lets it pass barely reacting, whether to angst over it or snark him back (except for the "oh, I'm actually kinda as empty as he says" feel I got from him). Annoying agency woman tries to convince him to let his sister sign up and move out; he's not resisting or angsting or supporting or even deeply thinking about it, he just gives this awkward uncommitted "I don't want to be trouble" thing.
He doesn't need to be Lelouch; he doesn't even need to be Kyon. He just needs to be something other than the vague shell of an adolescent he is. The taboo romance that should have been exciting and dangerous and dramatic and selfish and just a little twisted is somehow rendered awfully ordinary, a clichéd bore. A dangerous tango needs two charismatic, crazy dancers, not one.
Where's the passion, kid? You're a teenager with a complex. Be more fucked up, be anything.

Where was the part about them only being half-siblings? I can't remember what chapter it was.

I'm in agreement about the MC being as plain as they come. He would def be the weak point of this series.

As to why. I think he did it at first on a whim to forget about what was going on at the time, i.e kissing his sister out of frustration of hearing about their mother and then their mother's condition. And it just spiraled out from there using her as an outlet? I suppose for his problems. I think Ayano has an inkling of what's going on or I hope she does and she's playing the role of the girl in love and goes right along with it so she can have him. The saying the heart wants what the heart wants probably fits her best. It be a damn shame if she is clueless as to what's going on in the background and later he comes and says he was just using her...
I'm still 50/50 on the siblings being blood related. Too many flashbacks have them together when they were younger, but that doesn't mean squat in the manga world.:heh: Either one could've been adopted when they were younger. Hopefully, volume 5 will shed the light or reveal it outright...

In this volume we can see that ayano was very scary and almost like a very obsessed stalker because when she was asked that if ayano came to see our protagonist or not, she just answer without remorse or anything that nobody is coming to see him at all that morning.(the morning where his sister come and want to said happy birthday to her brother)

Yeah. She's quite possessive in this volume. I bet she knows that Sakuta's sister is her greatest love rival. That's why she's not giving her any chances of taking Sakata away from her. I guess, the reason the sister was hospitalized was because of depression thanks to Ayano? Or maybe not?
apparently ayano have a trauma involving her dad. the sibling mother already passed away in the recent chapter and both of them get to living together.

Judging from the spoilers, so glad I dropped this series early on. Looks like the author has some pretty artwork, but really sucks at plot and writing... Which actually is the case with a lot of mangakas. Just look at Oh! Great for example. Talented artist doesn't always mean taleted writer.
I've noticed that many of those with art talent but little writing talent end up turning their works into near-hentai series.

Well, this has dragged on for too long and most of the problems aren't even close to been solved. I felt this near the beginning but this story is obviously not going to be fulfilling until one is certain that it's going to have a pretty good ending, the reason being that most developments feel sluggish.
What I could grasp from the latest chaps :
- After the mom dies pretty much "every" relationship gets damaged in the series.
- Sakuta realizes he has loved his sister all along, and he has wanted to be love dovey with her ever since they have been kids.
- Eve becomes very dependent of Sakuta, and Sakuta gets this feeling that his sister has been a prisoner of the memories of their past, their happy times (when they were kids) (judging by impression, she forces herself to carry on with her current life, but deep down she just yearns to live that worry free life with Sakuta again; to be honest, to me she gave out that feeling from the start).
- Sakuta got this very strong urge to make Eve his, but when they where getting it on he realized that he forcing himself in a forbidden relationship on someone traumatized that can't say no due to emotional dependence made him a pretty lowly human being.
- I skimmed over the uninteresting Ayano parts, but she didn't seem to understand too well that Sakuta was going through difficult times. Her yandere switch seems to be working too strongly.
- Sakuta & Eve force themselves to act if everything was fine. Eve at first didn't want to, but start forcing herself to "be a pro" and do her signing job at the urging of her money hungry manager.
- Sakuta realizes how Eve is suffering by forcing herself, and in a spur of the moment he grabs her off (from a on stage performance) and sweeps her away.
- Sakuta and Eve start living the simple live somewhere else (probably the house where they grew up, they do have memories from it). It's a worry free life, it's like they are replaying their life when the whole family was together and thus the both of them are pretty happy.
- The siblings go all the way. Sakuta starts thinking of their current life as "honeymoon". Sadly we aren't shown the deed on detail, but we all know the best way to keep the body heat during winter in an abandoned shed :heh:.
- The siblings decide to face their situation and stop running away, the first person they re-encounter is Ayano, who seemed to be chasing them down. As the yandere manual dictates, she tries to stab through Eve with a happy ~ friendly smile in her face, Sakuta shields his waifu and takes the blow, to be continued and the next chapter isn't out yet.
I felt that the author was going to drag the story even more, a la Kimi no Iru Machi. But as thing stand there is a good chance for the wrap up to happen soon, and we already have a good idea about whats going to happen to the only couple we care, so yeah.

Ok, so someone (family) who (Yes deranged) who is desperately clinging on to a memory of a VERY close dead relative means yup.. they are going to kill their significant other and replay those events? It's pretty bittersweet all around, actually. Pretty much no one got what they wanted -- the band broke up, its producer is shamed and demoted (see her shuffling photocopies, of all things!), the older sister had to move to a place that knew little of her reputation as a performer, and implied three years worth of therapy for Ayano (which reminds me, what WAS she reading anyway at the end?).
Really, only Sakuta seems to have gotten off lightly, but apparently he hasn't been in Japan for three years.
