Yes, she even declares she's going to marry Itami.
Also her daddy isn't dead. :heh:
Speaking of that:
I read on the tropes page that she slaps her dad when she finds him? Can anyone explain/give further details?

Not really much to explain, Tukas Dad is a Womanizer. After the Flame Dragon Attack he goes around, fucked every Woman and has lost his Memories. After they met again he could just barely remember her, Tuka has a little Sister/or Brother (don´t know Gender) of his Charly Sheen-Trip now and he teached Itami how to handle a Harem, because he sees that Itami is Woman-Magnet, just like him. *LOL*

脳筋 (muscle for brain) doesn't mean literal muscle.
It means someone who tries to brute force everything without much thought.

Since there's not fanfic section, I'll post this one shot about another hero of the Ginza incident- one who proved you don't need guns or tanks to hold off the Empire- here:
One block east of the doujinshi convention attended by Youji Itami, Ginza, Tokyo
Tatsumi Yamada hurriedly climbed the ladder to the drivers seat of the front end loader parked near at the construction site. In front of him, he heard the sounds of screams, steel piercing flesh, and a gunshots as a police officer fired what looked like a cross between an ancient Roman army and something out of a fantasy movie.
At first he had thought the army that marched up the street was part of some kind of elaborate movie set. However, that illusion was quickly shattered when they started killed people with very real swords and spears, and were fired on by police.
"Actors didn't go around killing people, and they definitely did were not fired on by police.", Yamada realized immediately. He did not know what was going on, but he knew one thing: "Those cops don't have enough ammo to hold them off for very long, unless someone did something, the mysterious enemy would kill everyone her before the JSDF showed".
And so, that was how the 43 year-old construction worker ended up on the front lines an in inter-world war. Yamada turned the key, and the 1500 horsepower diesel engine of the loader roared to live.
Yamada stepped on the gas, causing the vehicle to lurch forward, plowing straight through the chain link fence surrounding the construction site- now was not the time to worry about property damage- as the last civilian survivors on the street ran past the site.
Turning the massive construction machine towards the Imperial forces, Yamada stared down a force of soldiers armed with spears and square shields, currently forming a shield wall. The soldiers were flanked by orc-like creatures armed with clubs and axes.
Yamada felt the adrenaline rush through his veins as he slammed the pedal to the floor. The loader rolled forward at it meager maximum speed of about 35 kilometers per hour towards the invading army.
The enemy soldiers stood firm with their shields raised, as a group of archers fired arrows at the loader from behind them. At the same time, the crew of a large wheeled ballista pulled back the string of their weapon and loaded a massive, spear-like bolt.
A few of the storm of arrows struck the windshield of the loader and cracked it, but did not go through. Deciding he did not want to push his luck any further, Yamada pulled a lever to the right of his seat, raising the loader bucket over the cab, shielding him from incoming fire.
With a loud thudding sound, the ballista discharged directly at Yamada. Had he not raised the bucket when he did, the bolt would have gone through the windshield and right into his face. As it was, it bounced harmlessly off the thick steel bucket.
When the ballista failed to strike down the roaring steel beast that charged them, many of the rear ranks of the Imperial army turned and fled in terror. A soldier who was dressed like a Roman Centurion raised his sword and barked orders for them to say- probably threatening them with execution. This did nothing to stay their flight.
For the front ranks, who were boxed in by those behind them, there was nowhere to run. Yamada lowered the bucket of the loader to about chest level just before it made contact with the invading horde.
At that moment, twenty tons of steel make contact with the armies of an otherworldly Empire. From the cab, Yamada gave a shout of "Fuck you, Caesar!"
Shields and spears were reduced to splinters by the impacts as men were thrown through the air like rag dolls, before slamming on into the pavement several meters away.
A few soldiers tried to thrust their spears into the tires of the loader. Their efforts proved futile, and managed only to stain the tires with blood as they were crushed under the machine.
As the front end loader effortlessly demolished the now-unmanned ballista, the survivors of the initial contact with the machine fled, leaving behind 23 mangled bodies and a street strewn with splintered shields, snapped spears and bows, and bent swords.
As Yamada looked back in the rearview mirror, he saw that the group of fleeing civilians was no longer in sight- his efforts were a success- he had held them off.
As this thought passed through his head, Yamada heard the sound of helicopter blades fill the air, along with sounds he had previously only heard in movies: machine gun fire and explosions. The JSDF had arrived to make short work of the invaders.

So after last ep I rushed through manga and have some questions... Can I ask for few spoilers?
1. Will Pina will join Itami harem?
2. Itami progressed with girls on main or gaiden series?
3. What happened to Delilah after she attacked Yanagida?
4. Will Japan will be blamed for poisoning Emperor and who will become next Emperor?
5 (just for laugh). That political marriage Sugawara and Sherry is just joke or novel/ln really went that way? I ask because on party scene I had feeling that he will not escape her that easy if he stay on that side of the Gate... xP
On side note, this actually first manga adaptation that I really enjoyed.
All of you who read the novel, please do spoil me greatly. It feels like Itami is hiding lots of things.
Please reveal those things to me and why did he receive the title of "Avenger".

Just want to clarify... Is she married alrady and has a daughter?
Yes and yes, depending on when you mean by "already"
She has a daughter with Tomita by end of Season One, and marries him by gaiden book 2

1. Yes. Sort of. She has a job.
2. Yes, he's become more acceptable of the girls over the gaiden.
3. Delilah vows to devote her entire rest of life to Yanagida, and becomes both his lover and agent.
4. No, and Zorzal seizes control of the Empire eventually through coup.
5. No, it's not a joke. In fact Sugawara declaring her his wife is one of the most important turning point of the story, as it's the trigger to begin the final full conflict between the Empire and Japan.
Dear goodness... After all this while, I still can't find myself to put the faces in each of the names I go on reading here... :upset:
Is anyone capable of arranging a guide or something? If possible, of course...

Okay I'm not going through 114 pages to look for the answer to this but is the original novel finished?
Because from what I have read on other sites the main story was 5 volumes long this is then followed by still continuing(?) side story's.
The main story was then re-released as 10 light novels?

There are 10 books out.
5 books to cover "season one" and 5 books to cover extra stories (finished).
The next book will likely be start of season two.
The "light novel" format bunko releases are cheaper release that splits each book into two smaller light novels. They are on book 8 right now (so 16 LN books)
The manga has 7 volumes out so far, and has covered the first two books.

I too would like to know something as a manga reader which has stalled for now.
Does USA/China/Russia get involved again? I think bringing in other nations would kind of ruin the simplicity that I enjoy of just one nation confronting a new world, but I also understand that it's more realistic to involve other nations on Earth. The thing is, realistically if Russia/China were to get involved, Japan would be forced to turn to the US which would throw a huge wrench into the whole system that Gate has built up.

Yes, remember there's a second prince that's not a idiot?
He realized he also need a force from the other side on his side like Pina.
He basicly took Pina's role from the web novel.

can anyone summarize gaiden 2? the rory volume. I hear it's the best of the gaidens but I'd like to know why.
Gaiden 2 summary
The Great Alnus Festival:
Bozes and Tomita are about to have their infant daughter Mai blessed by bods in the Nassida festival.
Nassida is a native ritual where the newborns have their names blessed by the gods, and that day of Nassida becomes the child's official birthday.
But due to intentions of many, the festival grows into a massive Alnus fest.
Rory & others convince Bozes and Tomita to have a wedding during the festival, and Rory invites all the active apostles to attend the festival to bless the child and the newlyweds. The whole town prepares for a massive festival the Empire has never seen the like of.
Because all the demigods are attending it, this becomes a huge deal, attracting faithful believers and nobility from all over the empire. Hammer god Mortar the dwarf, Tree Goddess Wareharun, Sun Apostle Granham the Bright, Giselle.
The Antagonists:
Lady, the niece of Emperor Malt, who has been actively tarnishing the name of Bozes' family plots to bring down the festival and the wedding. She allies with Mabel, apostle of Zufumut. Mabel being an apostle is a secret that not even the other apostles are aware of yet.
Rory's past:
Over 900 years ago, when Rory was but a young child, she was a priestess trainee at the temple of Emroy in the kingdom of Eden. There she makes loyal group of friends who finds out one of them, Belle, is a daughter of the Faun family.
Kingdom of Eden used to worship Zufumut, God of Light and order. Zufumut blessed the royals by bestowing them the divine Blood Sword Diva. King who wields the Diva can command any mortals to obey. The blood sword is forged out of blood and the heart of a daughter of the Faun family, and costs the host's life when created. For generations the Eden kings ruled by sacrificing life of a girl born in the Faun family to summon the sword (for a limited time usage).
But few generations ago, a benevolent king of Eden declared this to be inhumane and cruel, and banned worshiping of Zufumut. He instead chose Emroy, God of Darkness as their prime religion.
The Zufumut worshipers became outcasts and turned into a cult. Kasutori, a Eden noble who was secretly a Zufumut follower, sought to gain the blood sword Diva by sacrificing Belle. Rory and friends finds out his evil scheme to wed Belle and kill her on the wedding night to summon the sword, and tries to protect Belle. One night Rory hears a voice "I pick you". She instinctively realizes Emroy has chosen her as his apostle, but does not understand why. But upon learning Belle's fate, she takes it upon that she was chosen to save her and destroy the Zufumut cult brooding in the underground of the Emroy temple.
Long story short, Rory and her friends are victorious, Kasutori is killed, Zufumut cultists are captured, and Belle is saved.
Showdown at the wedding:
Present day, the wedding between Bozes and Tomita is being held, as Rory performs the priest duties. Mabel crashes the wedding, declaring Rory is unfit to perform this wedding, as she is a wedding crasher. Rory is sees a familiar face on Mabel's appearance. Lady sides with Mabel, and so does Yuel, vassal of Granham. Yuel doesn't hold a grudge against anyone, he simply wants to fight Itami, the dragon slayer.
JSDF quickly turns this into an attraction though (thanks to some clever heads) and sets up a Pole Fight competition. A traditional JSDF training game where two opposing teams try to topple enemy pole. It's sort of a physically intensive grappling fight capture the flag. Those who oppose the wedding sides with Lady and Mabel, while the protagonists, Pina, and her knights on the other team.
The fight actually ends in a tie (Yuel, Hercules-meets-Arnold Schwarzenegger is a mighty warrior).
Mabel isn't willing to let this silly game decide their fate, and attacks Rory with Blood sword Diva. The two apostle duel, but Rory learns a shocking truth... the reason Mabel looks like her best friend from 1000 years ago, is because she is the descendant. Mabel Faun, a girl born in the Faun family, and direct descendant of Belle! Because Mabel is an apostle, summoning the blood sword Diva does not cost her her life, as she is immortal and regenerates. Mabel was raised by the Zufumut clan, who fed her lies about her past. She believes Rory nefariously wrecked Belle and Kasutori's wedding out of spite. Rory tries to explain to her the evil of Kasutori and the cult, but she refuses to listen.
Giselle speaks with her mistress Hardy, and she agrees to release several souls from afterlife. Souls of Belle and Rory's friends appear in middle of the duel, and Belle tells Mabel the truth. Mabel is shocked, still in denial, and Rory does a full swing to knock her in the air and sends her flying. The duel ends in Rory's victory.
Bozes and Tomita gets married, and the festival ends in a success.
However, this leaves a deep grudge with Lady and Mabel. (who will both return as antagonists in gaiden 4)
So... One is a bitch through and through, while the other is a misguided antagonist...
Then, how did it go with those two in Gaiden 4? Did Mabel come to terms with Rory?
So... One is a bitch through and through, while the other is a misguided antagonist...
Then, how did it go with those two in Gaiden 4? Did Mabel come to terms with Rory?
In gaiden 4,
Rory snatches Diva away from Mabel and sticks the sword inside herself.
The sword reverts to blood and heart, and merges inside Rory.
Now Mabel has to live without a heart until Rory's time in the mortal world is up.
Mabel has to spend the next fifty years contemplating her sin, while living her life literally heartless. :heh:
Lady is a bitch, but she's got some sob story herself.
Makes you feel for her just a little, but her bitchiness quickly makes you forget all that and hate on her again. :heh:
She was exiled away to go wed some king in a faraway land. She might return in vengeance once again in season 2, who knows.
It's not easy to get good endings for everyone in this kind of story, as it seems... :heh:
Gaiden 2 summary
great summary, much more than I can say, just adding a few notes, go ahead and correct them if I remember things wrongly.
1. Mabel being an apostle is a secret because she only became one just recently, she led a harsh life, which is why…
2. Mabel sort of has a good impression of Itami, since Itami is nice to her. once she realizes Rory is not her enemy, she may be one of the new harem member candidate, she and Lady will obvious play their antagonist roles again in part II, since Lady
>She was exiled away to go wed some king in a faraway land.
and the land is by the sea, Part II, by all indication, will be sea going affairs for part of the story.
3. one of the main reason for the wedding ceremony / birthday blessing, is to have a SMALL (they were thinking around 50 people) party to improve moral since the gate was closed, plus Bozes and Tomita was never officially marry before, (obvious her family disapprove her marrying a commoner so Mai was born out of wedlock.) this was solved by Pina giving Tomita a title + Tomita improves Boze’s house money flow by introduce them to parrot? messaging business, so that is why Boze’s parents will come to the party.
4. my memory is foggy, but the final tally for the party/conference is more than ten thousand people attend?
5. the game 棒倒し (falling stick, or knock stick down) is a traditional sports game play by Japanese military school cadets, lots of war like tactics, 2 minutes match, tilting the pole at least 30 degrees for at least 3 seconds==knock down.

7. oh did I mention Itami was almost rape by a tree? good thing Rory intervenes and instead Mōi lost his virginity.

There is no manga discussion thread at the moment. I don't think the "weekly manga to anime comparison" thread counts. That one I think is spoiler free and only discusses differences between manga and anime episodes as they air.
So currently, his question is correctly placed.

Well this thread has had manga discussion from the start, long before Gate got it's own sub-forum. Actually there was little discussion about the novel before the manga started and it got popular. There's no manga thread like other people mentioned, so unless the mods want to make a new manga thread and sort 115 pages of mixed discussion?

I don't know why this question comes up every now and then. But the scanlation isn't dropped. The manga comes out monthly but every once in a while the author takes a break, mostly just before a manga tankoubon release so he can work on fixing or adding stuff to it, although this times seems to be because of comiket. The Alphapolis site is pretty clear about their release schedules and they show when a chapter will come out or if it's on a break. As such no manga chapter will come out this month on august 30th, it will come out on september 30th.

Since when do licensing a manga stop translators from doing their job? There are tons of licensed manga that are translated... like Naruto, Bleach, One Pice, Fairy Tail, Atack on Titans, etc.

since they can be sued if found out? even if they may decide to not care that does not chance that they could end up in having tons of legal problem, there is a reason if B-T remove a novel if it get licensed, if in case of manga usualy scanlation groups continue that's up to the group but is not that the law is different for them

Hello.... I just want an information from those who had read the Light Novel... I saw on many manga sites complaining that the anime butchered the original story because it doesent have gore and rapes (fuked up creeps e e), but i know this is a LN adaptation, so I find the comparation with the manga dumb... So my question: Is the LN as fuked up as the manga? I mean it has gore, all the rapes and bestiality peoples enjoy so much?
As far as I know, it seems it does have.
It's more like the Anime, for broadcasting purposes, sanitized most of those things. And I'm kinda glad for that :p

Well giving new Japanese laws about media, making this kind of 'moderate' version is bound to bring you the most views and with that the most money. These laws already ruined one anime ( Oreimo ), so for rest to avoid this animation companies either go for late night airing ( like after 00:00 ), OVA ( Hellsing Ultimate ) or movies ( future FSN Haven's Feel movie ).
I say, you better enjoy even this before some organization press Government to sanction even this because 'they are bad for younger public' or something like that.

It was a web novel, then a actual novel, then a light novel with anime style art, manga, and now anime.
Treat it more as Game of Throne type fantasy, and not harry potter type young adult story.

Web novel published on Arcadia website - 2006~2009
AlphaPolis published first official novel - 2010 which removed alot of the political stuff in vol.1~2, and Vol.3 on, the plot deviate from the origional web novel
Manga - 07/2011 started
AlphaPolis publish light novel version with new illustrator with more anime style art - 2012
The "light novel" and published novel are pretty much the same, as both are published by AlphaPolis, except the light novel have more anime style art for the character, and split the book into more book.
So Vol.1 of the Official novel was split into 2 book, same with other, and as far as I know, the writing it self doesn't have much change.

I have to ask now that I have read the manga....
Are the little girls from anime ( the one that appears in 1'st episode and the one that appears after they finished the dragon battle ) anime original or are they appear in LN?
It was just.... strange that they do not appear in the manga. To me they had quite an impact in those moments.
Oh wow. Interesting.
Instead of going straight through volume 3, they're doing the manga in chronological order eh?
I'm not sure about that decision, considering it's already gonna take like six years to cover the rest of the season one, and gaiden+ stories have pretty much zero importance to the plot. :heh:
I guess the positive side to this is, it'll make Yao just a little less trivial and irrelevant. :p
Ah... Sorry, I just got lost with that one...
Could please you explain it better for me?
Ah... Sorry, I just got lost with that one...

Gaiden+ is the latest book, with two (well, three if you count a really short Kuri ministory) segments.
However, unlike all the other books, Gaiden+ is not chronological.
The first half of Gaiden+ is dedicated to Yao's story (since she was the only heroine that didn't get her own book prior) and it takes place shortly after end of novel 2.
It's really just a bonus story that brings much needed focus on Yao, and has no bearing on the overall plot.
The latest manga chapter starts that Yao storyline, since chronologically it takes place right here. So the manga chapter is pausing the novel 3 storyline for now, and inserting Yao's story from Gaiden+ into it since it takes place now.
AH! Now I get it! You were talking of the Manga! Sorry, I got it mistaken as you talking of the Anime...
Well, I guess it can be the best course of action, so as to make good use of the Gaiden Books' plot, right?

So how does this series actually ended? Just PM me if it's not allowed here in this thread.
It hasn't ended yet, Season1 is long over, Gaiden seems to have been finished recently and Season2 seems to be about to begin.
Season1 and Gaiden were 5 bulk novels each or 10 light novels each, since each bulk novel was divided in 2 LN volumes.
Could someone so kind please provide me a timeline of the novel sequence? The Light novels AND the Gaiden parts to be specific.
If 'someone' were to translate this, where will he start? the Original novel? OR the Light novel?
The LNs are simply the Novels split each into two, so you can simply ask for the timeline of Season1 & Gaiden.

Depending on how the 2nd cour of the anime end, I suspect if they ever animate further that they would do the same as the manga with the Yao arc. It just makes sense.

So does Yao end up falling for Itami in the later chapters or does it stay as a one-sided master servant relationship on her end?

So does Yao end up falling for Itami in the later chapters or does it stay as a one-sided master servant relationship on her end?
You are mistaken. This isn't about "falling madly in love", especially not for Yao. She is lonely, all her past lovers died, her friends killed, her own village think she is jinxed and want her to leave. She is throwing herself into the mission to hunt the dragon because she has nothing to live for anymore, and selling herself into slavery is just the final act of a desperate individual.
Itami gave her life purpose. At least, it was suppose to. The Minotaur arc explores what Yao felt about all this, and in particular how deep down she knows she isn't legitimately a slave but had nothing else to hold on to.

I'm glad Russia and China aren't as stupid as you think they are.

I do wonder how will they...
... do Zorzal in anime giving all the controversy tied with his character.
Gate total copies have reached 3.1 million copies. (http://kabutan.jp/news/marketnews/?b=n201510140304)
A lot of people seems to think the novel doesn't sell as much as say, Overlord or Log Horizon from just looking at the novel sale figure, but those people forget that Gate sells well in all three formats, novel, light novel, and the manga.
Its sales number is often split between them, and the total series sales is higher than those two.
Gate manga is a very rare case of web novel comicalization selling so well. :heh:

Just introduced myself to this series and just finished reading the manga up to the latest translation, and I've got to go back a few chapters to say that the final fight against the flame dragon just might be the most thrilling action scene I've ever read in manga. So much gar. So much awesome. So much Murphy's Law.
Haven't read the novels, seeing as they haven't exactly been translated, so I don't know how much is the author and how much is the artist, but between the two of them, they've got a fine hand for subtle detail and believable storytelling...at least as believable as a story in this setting could be...
And that's not even mentioning the gorgeous (in several ways) character designs...

I can see that. Some of her actions early on mesh with that. In particular, her reaction to the reveal of Itami being a ranger was a fairly tropish "eventual love interest" reaction. Similarly there could be remnants of an "ask the MC to hook you up with someone, only to later fall for him" storyline left over from the web version, going back to when Kuri got drunk at Risa's.
The Manga only goes through part of the story, for a more complete experience check the Anime alongside it. That is... If you hadn't done so already, of course.
I don't quite like the Manga artstyle but, in the end, it was worth the effort.

the author is a former JSDF member, the mangaka is a specialist on military manga, you can see the little touch the mangaka add in if you had read the novel, which is very neat. easter eggs in many places, most of the mangaka add on is about military hardwares, procedures, etc. did not deviated/change much story wise from novel, example, when the helicopter drop the dragon head on the castle gate, that is a manga add on not in the novel. in the novel the dragon head just mysterious appears one day in front of the citizens of the city.
And that's not even mentioning the gorgeous (in several ways) character designs...

umm, consider how many sub harem members Itami has? take a number and get in line, beside, once the author wrote KuriXTomita there is no way he would give up on that until that story thread is milked dry, consider the latest Gaiden+ when they show how Itami and Kuri first met? chance of this to get going I would say is low, very low.

the main difference, I think, if you are a general/causal anime watcher, you would prefer the bunko/anime moe character design and story telling, if you are a military otaku, I think manga hard cored style is the prefer setup. most people who had read the manga first is disappointed with the anime design, just like most people who saw anime first is disappointed with the manga, it is for two different crowds I think,

I've seen the first few episodes of the anime. Much prefer the more realistic manga character designs over the less detailed moe anime designs. Particularly dislike the "cat ear" Rory design in the anime, for some reason, but still plan to watch all of the anime when I get the time (probably over the weekend). I understand the necessity of a simpler anime character design. Not everyone has One Punch Man's budget.
Not as much problem as some with the lesser amount of service and violence in the anime. The anime is the "larger audience" gateway to the manga and (light) novels, so it's understandable that it be more mainstream.

Oh, I understand that the likelihood of Itami x Kuri is low now, but if it was present in the web version before Piña's character basically took over that position, as has been suggested, then I can see lingering evidence of it.

Agreed, though I'm pretty sure I'd prefer the manga designs whatever order I'd seen it in. I had seen the anime designs first in various places when it was airing, and wasn't all that interested. It wasn't until I ran across a description of the premise that I became interested, and decided to read the manga first, since the novel translations are going nowhere and I could tell by the number of translated chapters that the anime wouldn't cover as much storyline. How far into the storyline does the anime get, actually? I'm guessing up to the introduction of Yao?
Yes, and the second cour airing in January should cover all the way through the fire dragon arc, ending close to where the manga is right now.
If they ever make a season 2 anime, it's very likely to surpass the manga pace and finish all of novel Season One.

So the story progresses faster in books 3-5, or do you think they'll have more cours in a prospective anime season 2?
For one, a lot of stuff can be condensed in book 3-5, and since I doubt they would do 3 cours.
And you can't really end in book four, there isn't a good stopping point.
The most logical thing to do would be covering three books in 24 episodes which is entirely doable.

I still think a marine adventure will be good for the next batch of books.

huh I was interested to read this LN but never got round to it. Now I just finished watching the anime and was slightly disappointed with the ending. They built the foundations for a new arc. Introduce a new dark Elf character and all but the show didn't even resolve the issue with the fire dragon. Very anticlimactic.
It did made me interested on what is gonna happen to Yao and her situation that I might read the LN just to find out.

Quick question: How many translated volumes does the LN have right now?
Not enough to even bother looking into it, unfortunately. Read the manga. It has covered the first two out of the five main ("Season One") novels, and has started into a portion of one of the five gaiden novels, namely the one that happens chronologically after S1 novel two. Might have covered a bit of S1 novel three, as well.
The anime covers the first S1 novel so far, and should cover the second when it returns next year, so the manga already covers more than what is planned so far for the anime.
This is what I have gathered from this thread, as I have not seen anything but the manga and the first few episodes of the anime. If anyone who knows more can correct me, please do.

Question for the novel readers. In the manga (and I assume the anime, as I haven't quite gotten to that point yet), Rory's immortality is demonstrated after the four-way onsen battle, with her wounds healing and "spitting" the bullets out while Itami is cleaning the other countries' agents' blood and gore off of her. In the novel, though, from what I've read, she never gets involved in that battle, as the agents largely kill each other off before she can get there. How then is her immortality demonstrated in the novels? Or are we just told how it works and we don't get an actual demonstration until the battle with Giselle?

For everyone:
There are 5 novels.
Novel 1 ( CONTACT ) - Anime season 1 + Anime season 2. ( January release )
Novel 2 ( FLAME DRAGON ) - Manga ended at the end of this ark, season 1 part 2 should cover this part as well.
Novel 3 ( UPHEAVAL ) - Zorzal rise to power.
Novel 4 ( ALL-OUT ATTACK ) - JSDF colonize special area.
Novel 5 ( DARK GATE ) - have no idea what happens here but title suggests it will be full of win and awesome.

The manga just started novel 3, but then stopped after the intro and started Gaiden+ material which is chronologically after novel 2.
That's what he's talking about.
Also correction,
Novel 4 is JSDF starting assault on Zorzal's forces, after Japan made official alliance with Emperor Malt and Princess Pina.
They don't colonize the land, they come to agreement that just the hill of Alnus and its immediate vicinity be annex to Japan.
Novel 5: as the war draws to an end, many different faction interests conflict over closing the gate.
The fight against Zorzal's forces draws to a climax, and the gate is ultimately closed prematurely, trapping thousands of JSDF members on the special region with no contact to Japan.
If you guys want me to do a more detailed summary of each book, I can, when I have the time.

The Gate is wide enough to pass two armored columns comfortably. The helicopters can have their blades removed or brought together, depending on the model, so they can easily be towed through. I'd have to check the wingspan of an F-4 Phantom to see if disassembly would be required.

F4 Phantom II wingspan is only 38'. The Gate should be plenty wide enough. Even if the JSDF is using a variant of the US design, the difference won't be enough to matter.
No problem. The Phantom can fold it's wing as this photo showhttp://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/9/2/8/1103829.jpg
Phantom and helicopter are easy, helicopter’s blade can be folded to be parallel to its body length, while Phantom, a naval jet, can fold its wings down to 27.7 ft like in the above post. you don’t even need to do any disassembly to put it on the flatbed.
basically anything that can be put on a flatbed can be trucked to the special region.
the bigger undertaking, is the C-1 transport we have been seeing in the last few manga chapters, the C-1, only a bit smaller than a C-130, has to be taken apart and put back together on the other side of the Gate, the C-1 can take on 15 tons of cargo, or 60 passengers, or 45 fully equipped paratroopers, with a range of 1,500km. a great foreshadows of what the coming story would be,
(from Alnus hill to the empire capital is 600km, the last chapter we see a formation of 5 C-1. 45X5=225, almost 2/3 of a full battalion, (380) and btw, the only Japanese special force in brigade level is the 1st airborne, and every single one of them has the Ranger badge, the same as Itami.)
this is why I am so anticpating the new Gate novel, the next logical step would be to truck over a ship,
The first two novels are already covered in detail by the manga, so you have means to read them.
So I'll start with book 3.
Novel 3: Upheaval general summary - first half
The head of the Flame Dragon is mounted on the castle walls of the capital, and empire is in confusion as to whose deed the dragonslaying goes to.
During the ceremony, the Emperor is informed of the "green men" and his companions being responsible, and announces Lelei as the perpetrator for this great deed, trying to put a spotlight on the only human of the Empire involved.
In the ceremony, Emperor Malt is poisoned and collapses.
Meanwhile Itami & co heads to the academic city of Rondel.
Lelei plans to present her findings and earn the Professor* title.
There are ranks within the academy
Bachelor, Master, Doctor, and Professor*.
Only those who have finished the Bachelor degree may call themselves a Wizard.
Other girls are shocked when Lelei tells them Itami is a Bachelor.
*Professor is the closest translation, but if I was localizing I would choose "Arch Wizard".
Seeing from how a non-magician sage is called "researcher wizard", obviously wizardry is expected, and the highest wizards should be called an arch-wizard.
It fits the theme of the academy more. I'm leaving it as professor just to be general though.
There Lelei is reunited with her half-sister, Arpeggio who is jealous of her sister's success, and gets in an argument.
Arphe (Arpeggio's nickname) specializes in mineral alchemy, a field that is so costly in research, hardly anyone wants to study.
Due to this she is eternally in poverty. Upon learning that not only is Lelei successful as a wizard, but the man she chose to be with, Itami, is a noble with massive wealth (the human sized diamond Yao gave him).
Despite having sibling love for Lelei, she is overcome with jealousy.
The two sisters duke out in mage duel, under Rory's watch and oath to not trade lethal blows.
Their match is interrupted as Grey, Pina's right-hand man, kills an assassin who was waiting for a chance to kill Lelei.
Grey and Shandy joins the group, informing of the announcement made in the capital, celebrating Lelei & co's slaying of the flame dragon (much to Arpeggio's surprise).
And that certain someone (the prince) does not approve of this fame, and has sent assassins to kill Lelei.
Following Emperor Malt's fall, Prince Zorzal has assumed control of the capital in a coup.
He dismantled much of the administration and replaced them with his own faction.
The prince orders his men to arrest them and punish the peace talk supporters, without any hearing or trial.
The prince appoints Viscount Helm as his advisor. As they know a direct military conflict would be an unsuccessful campaign, they scheme to send troops disguised as "the green men" to pillage the villages, and place the blame on JSDF.
Zorzal adds his idea to have them rape women and burn houses to fuel hate for their enemey.
Princess Pina is overcomed with horror, and seeks out her other brother Diabo for help.
But Diabo has no intent to stay and oppose Zorzal, instead he is ready to pack up and flee the capital.
He plans to find allies outside of the Empire, as it would be impossible to find an ally in the capital at this state.
He leaves the capital, despite Pina's plea to stay and help.
Meanwhile Tuule starts to become close with Furuta, Zorzal's new chef in charge.
His honesty and kindness is a breeze of fresh air in her life, who knows nothing but hate, anger, and scheme.
Itami & co are attacked in the inn they were staying in.
The inn keeper was hospitable and welcomed the stay of Her Holiness Rory and co, and was in shock to find out his young employees schemed to kill his guests.
The young boys claim they were tricked, and was told they were told the guests were impersonators of Her Holiness, and actually were wanted murderers.
Upon hearing their testimony, it seems they were easily tricked into believing this nonsense.
Grey points out this is the workings of "The Piper".
The Piper is a famous assassin, and nobody knows his/her true identity.
He/she can appear as a human man, an elven woman, or a hag... always a different look.
The boys describe the man they met as an older, gentle looking obese man.
The Piper does not use his/her own hands to do the killing, he/she can turn an innocent girl into food poisoning assassin, or make a crippled old man jump at the target while going down the steps.
The Piper excels in convincing others to do the killing. The most dangerous thing about Piper is, there's no end to the assassination.
Unless the Piper is taken out himself/herself, the assassins will keep on coming indefinitely.
The inn keeper begs to Rory to forgive the boys, and she obliges.
Since the chance of the Piper using the same boys again is low now, they decide to stay in the same inn.
But in truth, Lelei and Rory figures the Piper likely looks for easy to manipulate targets to use as an assassin, and will likely come in contact with the boys again as they are exceptionally gullible.
That may give them the chance to catch the Piper.
Lelei mentions no one has seen Shandy's face yet, and she will be the perfect candidate to keep eye on the boys.
Next morning the group is met with huge crowd of fans who came to see the legendary dragon slayers.
The word of mouth has reached this far about the tale of the dragon slaying, although the story was changed by the Empire to make Lelei sound the main hero of the deed.
Fairies fly around Tuka bombarding her with questions, Lelei is regarded as a hero, and Rory is well, her Holiness Rory Mercury so it's expected regardless.
Meanwhile, a young beastman girl in her high teens named Norra speaks to the inn's boys.
She tells them they're idiots for missing the opportunity to catch the Piper, who much have shown up today to see if his operation was successful.
She claims she was contacted by Piper as well, but she wasn't fooled. She tells them she agreed to the assassination to fool the Piper, and tells the boys to let Lelei know to wear an armor to protect her waist, and pretend to die when she attacks.
The Piper will surely show himself to confirm the death, and that's when they can catch her.
The gullible boys believes Norra words and her scheme to "fake an assassination" on Lelei.
Shandy hears the conversation, and deduces that Norra must be the Piper.
She leaves the inn and follows Norra to track her down.
Shandi did not return that day, or the following day...
It's been 4 days since Shandy has gone missing.
Lelei was willing to postpone her visit to the Academy Society to help look for Shandy, but Shandy shows up just then.
Shandy reports that the girl named Norra was a pawn of the Piper, and not Piper himself. She lost the track of him, or so she claims...
As they head to the academy, Lelei explains the time when the academy reported their findings that the world is a sphere, not flat.
This led to angered civilians rising up in arms against the heresy. The academy had to tell them half-truths to convince them.
Even though the gods know the workings of this world, they leave it up to the mortals to find out on their own.
The story illustrates how dangerous publishing new findings could be to a world unwilling to accept new truths.
Lelei realizes that what she should be revealing in the academy is how explosives and gun powders work.
But the level of impact that could have to the world is huge, and she is cannot bring herself to do this, even though logic tells her that it's only a matter of time.
Rory agrees with Lelei's decision. Itami wonders what would happen if Lelei was to reveal this to the world, but he saw serious and dangerous look in Lelei's eyes, and in fear, he could not bring himself to ask the question.
They find Arpeggio waiting at the academy. Arphe's master reveals how Arphe was boasting about how great her little sister is to other wizards, and had sewn together new robe for Lelei in case she couldn't ready herself a formal robe.
Arphe is embarrassed and yells at her master for revealing this. It seems despite her jealousy, Arphe loves her sister more than she's willing to admit.
They are introduced to Arphe's friend, a young elven man named Flat El Coda.
The young man specializes in Astrology, which as Lelei explained earlier, is a very dangerous field of research to publish.
He plans to report his theory that the Sun is a the center of the world, not Earth, and that there is an invisible force between the Earth and the moon to maintain their distance.
(We the readers know Flat's research is in fact the truth, but this world may not be ready to hear the truth.)
His theory is not very popular with the academy, but today he says he's here to just report the newest observations. He observed some strange phenomenon happening in the skies.
Apparently Flat has proposed to Alphe, but Alphe has declined. She insists her interest is in research, and don't see him as a man.
Although being a certified tsundere, others may not be convinced at her excuse.
As they wait for the Academy Society meeting to begin, Itami apprehends a wizard standing right behind Lelei.
The man had a dagger in his hands. He screams and rambles on convinced that she must have stolen his research.
The man was obviously manipulated by the Piper into believing this nonsense, as his testimony revealed.
The Academy meeting started, and Flat reports his findings.
The council seemed uninterested in his solar system theory, but he was here to report something else.
Recently, the stars are not following a set pattern when it comes to a certain point of the sky.
It seems part of the sky is.... warped. Stars accelerate and heads to a certain point in the sky, and after passing that point, it goes back to normal course.
It's as if looking at the sky through a warped glass.
At this point, no one in the room realized how this distortion in the world will become an incredibly important point in the upcoming months...
It's Lelei's turn, and she walks up to report her findings, Norra jumps out of the crowd to attack.
Itami was expecting her, but was taken back at how unexpectedly fast Norra was.
However, this is a wizard academy, and they all were expecting an assassination on the life of the dragonslayer hero.
Norra is bombarded with countless spells, and falls to the ground in tatters.
Itami & co are relieved at preventing the assassination, and goes back to the crowd.
Just then Shandy raises her hand.... and thrusts a knife into Lelei's chest.
I'll follow up with the second half when I have the time. Maybe later this week.
Not in a rush, the manga is slow and anime isn't gonna air till January, just check back once in a while. :p
Speaking for myself, I won't touch the Manga until the series resumes, since I'm only using it as supplementary material to the series.
But don't worry, I'll read those summaries and then get the remaning intel from the Anime and Manga when January comes around :D

Went to check out the manga and was surprise how dark the story actually is. Way different than the tone of the anime which I would say leans more into Fantasy/Adventure genre. Me likey.
I have to say Pina co lada should have known better. She's seen a glimpse of Japans stance on captured prisoners when negotiating the contract after the battle of Italica and yet she was confuse as to why Itami and the JDF reacted strongly upon learning of the captured Japanese citizen's treatment. Well I suppose she had no idea there was even Japanese prisoners being held by the empire.
Itami is very popular among the special region people isn't he.
That's bad new for them as they can't resupply their Ammunitation, fuel, firarms etc. They're lose their biggest advantage in this world.
If you guys want me to do a more detailed summary of each book, I can, when I have the time.
Please and Thank you.

Grey and Shandi joins the group, informing of the announcement made in the capital, celebrating Lelei & co's slaying of the flame dragon (much to Arpeggio's surprise).
Lelei mentions no one has seen Shandi's face yet, and she will be the perfect candidate to keep eye on the boys.
Shandi hears the conversation, and deduces that Norra must be the Piper.
She leaves the inn and follows Norra to track her down.
Shandi did not return that day, or the following day...
It's been 4 days since Shandi has gone missing.
Lelei was willing to postpone her visit to the Academy Society to help look for Shandi, but Shandi shows up just then.
Shandi reports that the girl named Norra was a pawn of the Piper, and not Piper himself. She lost the track of him, or so she claims...
As they head to the academy, Lelei explains the time when the academy reported their findings that the world is a sphere, not flat.
This led to angered civilians rising up in arms against the heresy. The academy had to tell them half-truths to convince them.
The story illustrates how dangerous publishing new findings could be to a world unwilling to accept new truths.
Lelei explains that what she should be revealing in the academy is how explosives and gun powders work.
But the level of impact that could have to the world is huge, and she is cannot bring herself to do this.
Even though logic tells her that it's only a matter of time.
Rory agrees with Lelei's decision. Itami wonders what would happen if Lelei was to reveal this to the world, but he saw dangerous and serious look in Lelei's eyes, and in fear, he could not bring himself to ask the question.
Lelei & co meets up with Arpeggio at the academy. Arphe's master reveals how Arphe was boasting about how great her little sister is to other wizards, and had sewn together new robe for Lelei in case she couldn't ready herself a formal robe.
Arphe is embarrassed and yells at her master for revealing this. Despite her jealousy, Arphe loves her sister more than she's willing to admit.
They are introduced to Arphe's friend, a young elven man named Flat El Coda.
The young man specializes in Astrology, which as Lelei explained earlier, is a very dangerous field of research to publish.
He plans to report his theory that the Sun is a the center of the world, not Earth, and that there is an invisible force between the Sun and Earth to maintain their distance.
(We as modern day mankind knows Flat's research is in fact the truth, but this world may not be ready to hear the truth.)
It seems part of the sky is.... warped. Starts accelerate to head to a point, and after passing that point, it goes back to normal patterns.
As if looking at the sky through a warped glass.
Just then Shandi raises her hand.... and thrusts a knife into Lelei's chest.

I'm less concerned with what happened with Lelei than what happened or will happen with Shandy. What little I've seen of her in the manga, I like her. I like Lelei, too, but she has a lot more plot armor, and this isn't ASoIaF. I don't expect to see main characters getting whacked halfway through a novel. She'll be fine.
Also, for the novel readers, I'm still wondering if there was a demonstration of Rory's "healing factor" in the novels, since she apparently didn't get involved in the gun battle with the foreign agents in the novels.
And thank you for reminding me I spelt Shandy wrong. Shandy Gaff is her name, btw.
As in Shandygaff, the drink. :heh:

it is actually very simple, remember the co-op's initial money making resource? this also turns out to be a plot device for Gaiden 3,
Also, for the novel readers, I'm still wondering if there was a demonstration of Rory's "healing factor" in the novels, since she apparently didn't get involved in the gun battle with the foreign agents in the novels.
oh, it’s coming, in fact, probably in the next one or two manga chapter you would see it, an important plot device of the dungeon arc, which is why Rory asked Itami in the last chapter “you wrote that in your diary, too?” that part is not in the novel, and is a foreshadow the mangaka throws out for us.
generally in the story not too many things can touch the current Rory now, so she is seldom hurt at all, but many times Rory's power is demonstrated when Itami got hurt.
As in Shandygaff, the drink. :heh:
this author does like to name people after drinks, for some reason :)
Thanks for the summary aohige :)

Also correction,
Novel 5: as the war draws to an end, many different faction interests conflict over closing the gate.
The fight against Zorzal's forces draws to a climax, and the gate is ultimately closed prematurely, trapping thousands of JSDF members on the special region with no contact to Japan.
How the hell this happened?
And do they have some chance of establishing the connection with our world again?
I think it was Aohige who explained that the deity that has opened the gate, to attract entertainment to that world, ended up closing it because it wasn't supposed to be left open for long and was causing spacetime distortions in both worlds.

It was implied in the manga that it was Hardy, the god that wanted to marry Rory, that opened the gate. And is Hardy really female? A female god wanting to marry another female, I just find that real funny :D
Yeah, it was Hardy... Quoting from the Wikia...
Her primary reason for opening the Gate can be summed up as "Because she wants something new in her world that will likely get her interest piqued".

What is Hardy's title? What is she a god of? Emloy is the god of war/crimes etc if I remember correctly. And apparently Rory Mercury wants to become the God of Love when she ascends lol. How many deities does this new world have.
Simply god of death.
Those who fall in battle, or lived a life as a warrior goes to Emroy's realm.
All other souls goes to Hardy upon death.
So Realm of Emroy is basically Valhalla and Hardy's realm is Hades.

No silly, Season One of the novel ends there at volume 5.
There are five more volumes of Gaiden afterwards, and waiting for Season Two of the novel, hopefully starting end of this year or early next year.
Just go back a few pages this comes up constantly

No silly, Season One of the novel ends there at volume 5.
I was not revering to that, I was referring to end of novel 5, where gate is closed and all members of JSDF who left on the other side are cut out from Japan forever.
But giving this anime they can very well change the ending and make it anime exclusive.
edit: Or are you telling me that the ending you describe is just end of one part of the story and there is more afterwards.
Dear goodness, you sure are slow to get it, and apparently not very keen on going back a few pages to read the intel yourself.
At the end of Novel05 or LN10 (Season1), they end up getting stuck in the New World for a while (on Earth, time flows slightly faster) and most of the Gaiden (Intermission) volumes happen during that time. Season2 is said to start anytime soon, and a new Gate or something similar, apparently, may be opened, restoring the connection between both worlds.
I'm not sure if all of this is correct, Aohige may confirm it when he gets back here.

So let me get this straight...
Novel 1,2,3,4,5 are just part of a single large book?
And there are Novels 6,7,8,9,10 that continue the story?
So Baka-Tsuki actually has name tags only for 1'st five Chapters?
Dear goodness... Look. GATE is a bulk-sized Novel series instead of a simple LN series.
As of late, Alphapolis has been dividing each Novel into 2 LNs, with a different artist and LN illustrations.
Season1 is 5 bulk-sized Novels or 10 LN volumes.
Gaiden is another 5 Novels or 10 LN volumes.
And there's apparently a Season2 on it's way.
Is this finally clear to you? I won't explain any further, check the topic if you want.
I don't wanna think you may be trolling around...
Brother Coa
2015-10-20, 16:38
I am not trolling, I am very confused about everything....
So entire GATE is like 'Lords of the Rings' saga divided into 4 books ( example ). And so far only 3 books are done and anime covered half of the 1'st book?
1 book = 5 light novels. So what I saw on Baka-Tsuki was only 5 headlines of LN that are in single book. I think I get it now...
Gaiden is 2'nd book and 3'rd one is currently written.... but isn't GATE entirely written a few years ago?
BOOK 1: CONTACT / 接触編 (12 APR 2010)
BOOK 2: FLAME DRAGON / 炎龍編 (5 AUG 2010)
BOOK 3: UPHEAVAL / 動乱編 (24 DEC 2010)
BOOK 4: ALL-OUT ATTACK / 総撃編 (24 JUN 2011)
BOOK 5: DARK GATE / 冥門編 (22 DEC 2011)
This is the whole of Season1, Gaiden has another 5 books.
Regarding LNs, each 2 of them comes from one book, simple as that. The same story, each book divided in Part1 and Part2, just that.
The Anime stopped at the beginning of BOOK 2 and it's probably gonna adapt the whole of it in it's second cour.
Have you finally managed to clear that confusion?
Brother Coa
2015-10-20, 17:05
I now do, thanks :)
So there is a total of 10 books and 20 LN.
Are more being written or is this everything?
Apparently there's a Season2 of Books on it's way, nothing much is known about that.

To be clear, the 20 light novels are the 10 novels. Each of the novels (which all came out first) was later split into two light novels. Supposedly there were very slight changes made (to aid in splitting the story, no doubt) in the process. All 10 novels are out so far (five in Season One and the five Gaiden novels) and apparently 16 of the light novels are out (all 10 Seaon One LNs and six Gaiden LNs, up to the second half of Gaiden 3), with four remaining to be released before Season Two.

Even in Google Translate, its easier to understand if you check this page.
Yeah, it was Hardy... Quoting from the Wikia...
Her primary reason for opening the Gate can be summed up as "Because she wants something new in her world that will likely get her interest piqued".
With an objective like that, are we sure it's "Hardy" and not "Haruhi"?
Hardy: "I wish to find JSDF soldiers, bureaucrats, vehicles, and aircraft, and play with them!"
Emloy: "Yare, yare..."
Which is ironic on a different level when you realize that the anime and manga design for Itami is basically an adult Kyon...
So are you implying Haruhi is a lesbian? :D
Brother Coa
2015-10-21, 03:18
You might want to give up on that belief :heh:
Yeah... I have real hard time believing that 3 most powerful superpowers cannot pressure Japan to give them access to the GATE - even with UN intervention.
And now, when I found out that they shortly lost contact with other world - I would be surprised if that was not the case.
I know, Japan is independent country, international law etc... But when 3 superpowers are in question and they have something they want even that is not obstacle for them anymore ( just remember Czechoslovakia 1968 and Iraq 2003 and it will be clear ).
But this is anime and I will accept that Japan will be ok for the sake of the plot.

I'm not sure if that is impossible or not. I read Pina's other brother left the capital to search for allies that can help him rival Zorzel or even his sister as Pina's influence was continually growing on the men on green. That sounded ominous and made me think another gate will open in other countries, possibly Russia and China, which he will ally himself with. From repeated posts in this thread America apparently doesn't have enough manpower to send troops to the other side of the gate as they are busy with the war on Iraq and Afghanistan or some sort which is a bit eyebrow raising in and of itself.

The second half of book 3 has a lot going, so I'll split it again
This is mostly Sherry's stuff.
Novel 3: Upheaval general summary - part 1 of second half
Going back two weeks earlier...
Kanou hears the report on prince Zorzal's coup and his draconian practice to weed out the opposition.
The prince have created a group called Ouprichinina, an inquisition faction to persecute the peace talk supporters.
Kanou advises against accepting asylum and shielding the peace talk faction, as that would give an excuse for the prince to execute those in the capital.
He says seizing the capital is out of question, as he does not want a Iraq/Afghanistan situation that US is struggling with.
However the situation in the Empire capital has become far worse than the report Kanou read.
Marquis Carzel was hiding at the House of Tueli, Sherry's family. The young lord of the house and his wife both supported the peace talk, and welcomed Carzel who had become close with their daughter as well.
But the hand of the Inquisition has reached their house, and started to use a battering ram on their gates.
Lord and Lady Tueli sends off their daughter to flee with Carzel through the hidden passage way. He promises to his daughter that they'll soon follow, but with no intention of keeping it.
The gates break down and the couple faces off against the Inquisitor. The couple pours alcohol on the intruders, and sets the house on fire.
As the house burns down, the couple smiles in flame, hoping their daughters chosen fiancé, Sugawara, will take care of her...
As Sherry and Carzel escapes through the tunnel, she becomes worried about her parents.
But Carzel forbids her to return. Upon seeing the smoke from the fire afar, she panicks and screams to get back to her parents.
Carzel, not knowing what to do, slaps her and takes her away to safety.
Praetor Rufulus of the Ouprichinina Inquisition arrives on the burned ground, and after half a day of searching finds the hidden escape passage.
Tuule warns Rufulus that failure is not an option, and the prince will not tolerate any.
In fear, Rufulus blames the inquisition officer in charge, forcing him to commit suicide.
He then hysterically demands ideas from the rest of the officers. In fear of their life, some comes up with useful plans.
A young officer named Gimlet proposes an effective way to search possible hideouts, while an older officer points out that the Jade Palace that belongs to Princess Pina is one of the locations. Rufulus tells him it's of no concern, as the authority of Ouprichinina is above that of the Rose Knights guarding the palace.
Meanwhile, Tuule secretly speaks to her right-hand man Boulo, to make the matters more "interesting". He laughs, and obliges.
While on run Carzel and Sherry needs food.
Sherry knocks on doors of peasants, asking for food. Most declined to get involved, but the man in 11th house asked what's in for him.
Sherry tries to trade with a few pearls on her necklace, but the man demands all of it.
She showcases her negotiating skills to convince the man it is best in his interest to settle for less.
The man is impressed, and gives her more than just food (which was JSDF rations).
He tells her the Japanese ambassadors are protected by the knights in the Jade Palace, and lets her in on the time the watch is the least effective.
As the Inquisitor's encirclement of the area gets smaller, Sherry proposes on asking for help from Sugawara at the Jade Palace.
Carzel warns her that her actions will have grave consequence, but she surprises him by being aware of it.
She claims she got close to Sugawara for selfish reason to empower her family, and blames her action for her parents' death.
Carzel tells her it was sheltering him that led to their death, but Sherry tells him those men would have come to their house regardless of Carzel as they had become too close with the Japanese.
Sherry seeks revenge on those men, and the best way to do so is to bring is power far more powerful than they can handle.
She says she has learned from history, that those who survive are not determined by righteousness, it is determined by the will to fight on.
At age of 12, Sherry already understands that her action will lead to a far bigger conflict, but does not hesitate to commit this "sin".
Carzel is impressed at the determination and understanding coming from such a young child, and vows to carry the weight together.
That night, the inquisitors sounded the drums, as if starting a hunt. The two sneaked out of the house they were staying.
Unbeknownst to them, the owner of the house who tried to inform the authority was stabbed to death by Boulo's men...
-----
The Jade Palace
Bozes hears the sound of the drums, and Vifeeta sends scouts to find out what's going on.
Meanwhile Bozes surprise the girls with her possible pregnancy.
Bozes tells them she loves Tomita, and whatever happens she will not regret choosing to be with him.
A solder interrupts the girls talk, to report the Inquisition has surrounded the palace, and is after fugitives.
Bozes orders Nikolaschka to lead the Yellow Rose Knights, and have Vifeeta's White Rose Knights as backup.
This may lead to a long battle.
As one of the highest noble Carzel is treated with respect, and the two are brought to Bozes.
The Japanese Ambassadors refuses to accept his visit, but Sherry, claiming to be Sugawara's wife, pleas to contact him.
Vifeeta is not convinced, and Bozes tells the girl you must be 16 to wed in Japanese law. Sherry insists.
Meanwhile the Japanese ambassadors led by Vice minister Shirayuri are debating what to do with Zorzal's new regime.
The peace talk has hit a brick wall, and all their work may be for nothing. Sugawara curses at the Japanese cabinet for not taking action.
The ambassadors have tried to contact the Japanese government for permissions to help peace talk supporters, but as we saw earlier, Kanou and the Prime Minister will not give permission.
They had refused helping Carzel, just as others who have come before him. But not out of their own choice.
Sherry yells from outside the palace, calling out Sugawara's name.
Vifeeta asks him if he really is her betrothed, but he denies.
She understands how children can stubbornly believe in something, as she herself had similar experience when she was a little girl.
But she begs him to man up and accept her plea of help.
Inquisitor Gimlet arrived on the scene.
He threatens Bozes with Princess Pina's life, and demands they hand over the fugitives.
The inquisitor's soldiers take Carzel away but Sherry, still barred from entering embassy grounds, continues her cry for help.
Sugawara is greatly conflicted and irritated that he cannot take actions, and his associates tell him "don't do it". This is a very sensitive diplomatic matter.
Gimlet out of patience, grabs and carries Sherry away as she screams for help for the last time.
Sugawara cannot stand by any longer, and darts out.
Vice minister Shirayuri sighs and concludes that no matter what, their hands will be bloodied, might as well save those she befriended.
She declares to accept refugees, directly disobeying the government orders.
----
Sugawara arrives and demands Gimlet to take his dirty hands off of the girl.
The inquisitors tell him they have no obligation to listen to the enemy, and he this imperial business does not concern him.
Sugawara tells them Sherry's matter does concern him, but Vifeeta tells Sugawara that's not enough.
You need a convincing reason why.
Sugawara mans up, and declares Sherry as his future wife, and that they are betrothed to marry when she turns to age of 16.
Vifeeta, satisfied with his answer, orders the solders to retrieve the girl.
The same soldiers who barred Sherry's entrance earlier snags Sherry from Gimlet's hands, and allows her to run to Sugawara's arms.
The Inquisition officers run after her, but as soon as they stepped a foot in the embassy grounds, Vifeeta slays the man with her sword.
On her order, the knights quickly line up to bar the inquisitors.
Behind them Sugawara holds Sherry in her arms, and tells her not to worry about the pearls she lost, he'll get her another.

As a romantic scene straight out of a storybook is happening right behind their line, the Rose Knights rile up to defend them with all their might.
Vifeeta declares that embassy is a sacred neutral ground, ordered by the Emperor himself. Any who wish to enter without permission face death.
The knights draw their sword on order, and clash with the onslaught of the Inquisitor army.
Sugawara attempts to shield Sherry from the bloodshed that's about to happen, but she insists to see it with her own eyes.
She knew what will happen, and still made the choice. Then she must be a witness to the consequence.
Deeply moved by her maturity, he realizes he himself is also responsible for this. He now understands why Kanou had told them to hold off.
The Japanese cabinet wasn't telling us to not do anything, they were telling us to wait for the right time of action, to minimize the casualty.
As the battle continues, the two and Carzel walk back to the embassy grounds.
Dear goodness... There really has alot of things happening in there...
The second half of book 3 has a lot going, so I'll split it again
This is mostly Sherry's stuff.
Novel 3: Upheaval general summary - second half
----
Sugawara arrives and demands to get his dirty hands off of the girl.
The inquisitors tell him they have no obligation to listen to the enemy, and he this imperial business does not concern him.
Sugawara tells them Sherry's matter does concern him, but Vifeeta tells Sugawara that's not enough.

Thank you so very much for the detailed summary. It's a pain to have to wait a month for the manga update and with no English version of the novel available, your detailed spoiler write up is a pain reliever for impatient me. Thank you very much. Hope to read more of your spoilers.
We still have about 1/4 left in book 3. :heh:
I'll post the rest later this week

What you said is the main reason :heh: but it all works out in the end. Besides, Japan by itself is not a military threat to the 3 superpowers.
1. It isn't impossible. The story explained it all away and it's believable. What I know about the spoilers anyway. I won't be putting it in spoilers because Aohige is currently doing his thing but you'll see.
2. America is strong but it's not eyebrow raising. This was made in 2006 and it's not like the Gate was official top military priority.

Not surprising, depending on the time frame that the Gate opened. The US military has been heavily reduced ever since the fall of the Berlin Wall. For an example, the Army since 1990's has lost the 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th and 24th Infantry Divisions, the 2nd and 3rd Armor Divisions, and several independent Brigades. The National Guard has also likewise been shrunk, and has been deploying combat brigades to Afghanistan and Iraq since 2003 because there isn't enough manpower in the active duty Army.
A huge Thank You to Aohige for posting the synopsis! They are very much appreciated. I am hoping that, one day, the Novels get translated and published in the US.

Sums up the "dark side" and the fact they both did something they really shouldn't have:heh:

I find it humorous that "fanservice" for Rory could just as easily mean two different completely distinct (though not mutually exclusive) things.

manga C50 is out...
Checked it out on the official site (https://www.alphapolis.co.jp/manga/viewOpening/138000030) (gotta love digital manga). Can't make out much of the conversation due to the lack of furigana (%$@# seinen manga...), but I will say those are the most attractive zombies I've ever seen. Maybe due to it being caused by a sickness? Usually zombies are formed by being bitten/partially eaten, meaning gory injuries. Appears to be none of that here, nor any of the usual rotting flesh

corpse makeup camouflage, as Itami said, this kind of Zombie is different.
the reason for the zombies, and the cycle of sickness, will be explained next chapter.

Well, I'm assuming it has something to do with Hardy, given the whole Goddess of Death thing... Not to mention Rory yelling her name before splattering the first zombie. From what we've heard of Hardy, the "attractive young female zombies" part kind of fits, too...
Man I've been busy all last week, finally found time to do this in the weekend.
I figured I can do the 1/4 left in one post, but it's more packed than I remembered, so I'll split up again.
In Japan, Kanou and the defense minister Natsume meet with Prime Minister Morita, seeking permission to rescue the ambassadors.
However, the PM feels if they make a big move right now, all their intel will be exposed to the international inspectors and the media currently in Alnus.
He is also worried that this operation would involve occupying part of the Empire capital, which would certainly result in public questioning why they haven't just taken over the capital already.
He feels explaining to the public on futility of occupying will fall on deaf ears, and rather wait out until the media and inspectors return before carrying out any military operation.
He shows more concern about the election than lives of the ambassadors. After exchanging arguments, the PM begrudgingly permits them to go with the operation, under condition that Kanou and Natsume take all consequences upon themselves.
Meanwhile in Alnus, Noriko had become a translator for the international media due to her status as neutral civilian rather than military personnel.
The journalists wanted a non-military translator, and getting locals who learned Japanese to cooperate had proven tougher than imagined.
She was chosen as a perfect candidate for translator being a civilian who could speak Japanese, English, and French.
The journalists finds out that locals in Alnus were generally had positive feeling towards JSDF, but the Japanese journalist Komurazaki was skeptical.
He feels JSDF is restricting them to only see what they want them to see. (Nanami Kuribayashi, Shino's sister, is there as an assistant and disagrees with his view)
Noriko argues that journalist shouldn't be agenda driven, but he tells her there's no such thing as neutral journalism.
Komurazaki insults her, declaring that because Noriko was rescued by JSDF she is playing favoritism and defensive.
The multi-national inspectors on the other hand seemed to be satisfied with using JSDF translators.
A French inspector marvels learning that the refugees to Alnus had developed most of this community independently.
She praised the system of supporting refugee independence, and asked to learn who is in charge of this.
Himeji, a female JSDF soldier who serves the inspector as translator, reluctantly tells her it's Itami.
Knowing Itami, Himeji doubts he had any "brilliant system" in mind when he brought these refugees to Alnus.
However, the international inspectors had only heard heroics Itami had done, and knew him as "the hero who saved countless lives at the battle in Tokyo, saved the refugees by fending off a dragon, and recently rescued kidnapped civilian from the imperial capital".
While none of what the inspectors said were untrue, it somehow did not fit Himeji's image of Itami, confusing her for a moment.
Each of the inspectors expressed opinions clearly reflecting their country's agenda.
For example, the American inspector was interested in the massive potential for trading with the Special Region, while the Chinese inspector showed interest in migration.
Upon visiting the PX, the inspectors came across several information Japan was trying to keep away from them.
One was a map of the world, which the JSDF had hidden from publishing due to strategic purpose.
Because the only way to purchase anything at the PX was using cash (in either local currency or Japanese yen), they scramble to pull together enough cash to buy the map.
The German inspector (with help from the EU & American inspectors) won the little competition.
Unbeknownth to the inspectors or JSDF, Prince Diabo was observing the ruckus, and decides to contact one of the international inspectors to negotiate.
He swaps clothes with his servant Metometh and sets him up as his double.
The duo sets their eyes on the Chinese inspector, who had lost the race to buy the map.
-------
Meanwhile back in the Jade Palace, the place was drenched in blood.
The Inquisitor army had brought a thousand soldiers from the capital, and forced them to charge in.
Rufurus was driven mad by Tuule, who threatened him that the prince will accept no failures.
He executed the failed Gimlet without mercy and forced the rest of the surviving officers to kill one of their own.
The hysterical inquisitor army used the thousand imperial soldiers as meat-shields.
The Rose Knights, total of 600, had held off the inquisitors but suffered high casualty from the sheer overwhelming numbers.
They are low on rations, and Vifeeta tells Boses that they will have to start eating some of their horses.
Boses wants to lead the forces and charge out with the ambassadors and head to Itallica, but before that they will have to find a way to secure Princess Pina from the capital.
Meanwhile Pina was receiving condemnation from the Senate for the battle in Jade Palace.
The only Senate members left were warmonger hawks, as all the peace talk supporters were either arrested or fleeing.
Hamilton tries to defend the Princess, but she tells her it's no use, as they have no intention of heeding their words.
They threaten her to disband her knights, but she tells her do as they will, as this nation has no future regardless.
--------
Outside the capital, a squadron of dragoons spots enemy "flying swords" and engage them.
The dragoon are hunted down by the fighter jets and gunned down.
The F4 Phantoms bombs the dragoon stables, destroying the capital's air forces.
On the West Gate, the soldiers observing the dragoons shot down and stable destroyed are swiftly assassinated by Oshino, a SFGp member code named "Assassin".
West side of the Empire is the Basoon Prison, which is now under the control of the Inquisition and jails peace talk supporting nobles and Senators.
Sgt Kuwabara takes out Inspector Rufurus, and leads Kuribayashi and Tomita to infiltrate the prison.
The squad is working with other troops such as 4th recon and SFGp.
They throw grenades in the facility and charge in, simultaneously soldiers drop down from five Kawasaki C-1 infiltrating the capital.
The soldiers in the capital will be preoccupied by them to send any reinforcements to the prison.
Zorzal sees the countless paratroopers descending, and thinks his palace is under attack.
The foolish prince panics, and orders all the soldiers on the walls to assemble to protect the palace.
Zorzal shakes in fear and gets up from his seat, only to have Tuule tell him he will lose everything if he runs now.
She laughs and convinces him to stay, but he is disturbed by Tuule's apparent enthusiasm with their situation as she laughs.
But as if to break any shred of courage he mustered, he sees a massive army of helicopters approaching.
The helicopters led by Kengun however were there to carry the rescued prisoners away.
Upon hearing the battle at the Jade Palace, Kengun asks Major General Sabae permission to head to the Jade Palace to assist.
In the forest adjacent to the Jade Palace, the 1200 inquisition army surrounding 300 Rose Knights were engaged by the JGSDF 1st Airborne Brigade.
Consumed by fear of their insane leaders, the inquisitor army would not retreat even when they die by the droves to the fires from type 89 rifles.
They return fire with arrows, which severely injures some of the paratroopers.
Even with superior fire power, they are overwhelming number of enemies who never stops advancing despite the heavy fire and grenades.
Once the paratroopers snipers succeeds in sniping the "Black robe" inquisitor leading however, the empire soldiers suddenly stop their advancements and flees.
Rule by fear goes down the moment the source of the fear is eliminated.
Meanwhile on the Rose Knights side, they observe the panic in part of the enemy encirclement, and charges in to take down the Black Robed inquisitor in charge.
As the knights calvary charges in opening path through the enemy formation, the paratroopers follows in to assist.
Together they take down the enemy forces.
Kengun leads his men into the Jade Palace to rescue the Japanese ambassadors, and is shocked to see vast majority of the injured knights were either women or elderly.
Bozes asks if he's criticizing them, and he apologizes and tells her there are female soldiers in his military too, but as a male he can't help but feel pain seeing so many injured young women in once place.
He shakes her hands, then Vifeeta. Unfortunately Vifeeta does not speak Japanese as she's never been to Alnus.
Being a tomboy girl whose interest lies in becoming a strong knight, she does not share the same fujoshi interest as the princess and Bozes.
Bozes is surprised to learn the JSDF is not here to conquer the capital.
She argues with Vifeeta that they will now by hunted by Zorzal's men, as he would not care that they acted upon Emperor's rule.
Bozes asks Kengun a favor, to let her knights accompany them to leave the capital. And to take the injured back to Alnus as her forces head to Itallica.
Vifeeta confirms (with Bozes translating) with Kengun that the injured will not be treated as prisoners of war, and he assures her they will be treated humanely as guests.
She is relieved and slaps Kengun on his back telling him he's an ok fella.
Meanwhile the paratroopers gleefully picks up the injured women and carry them to the vehicles. With enthusiasm.
Bozes leaves Vifeeta in charge and wants to head to the palace to find Pina.
She shrugs off Vifeeta's warning that that's a suicide mission and runs off on horseback.
Vifeeta jumps on a horse to chase after Bozes, and asks Kengun (in a language he can't understand) to wait until she brings her back.
This is half of what's left. The next post should be the rest, all the way to the end of novel 3 (and Lelei & co's follow up)
Hopefully I'll have some time this week to finally finish novel 3.
Anyways, first fateful meeting of Kengun and Vifeeta. :D

Mate i dont have the words to express how grateful i am for the summaries, thx
Man, shit sure hit up the fan quite quickly. Well, it's that kind of story.
Just how much rage those scumbag international journalists and inspectors have given me... DAMN!!!
I guess the end of that son-of-a-bitch Zorzal is close.
Thanks for keeping at it, Aohige, despite you tight schedule.
It's just one Japanese reporter that's a D-bag.
The other journalists and inspectors are actually ok people.
But instead of trying to get proper intel to show "our" world what good, bad, mysterious and alluring kinds of things the other world has to offer, they only care about sticking to each country's agenda, and that's what irks me. Those folks should really try to play neutral in those cases.
Sure, but that's no different than Japan.
Everyone's doing things for their own agenda, no exceptions.
Heck, even Rory is.
Yeah, I know that...
I guess I'm taking favoritism, in this case... :p

That's not necessarily a bad thing. Everybody being out for their own interests is natural, and when those interests don't necessarily conflict, can result in everyone getting what they want/need. "Playing neutral" often results in no one getting what they want/need.

I'm not catching up. When did Japan allow international observers beyond the Gate?
And how does the world beyond the Gate looks like in the map?

Remember that there's been plenty of time skips in the story. It's been mentioned various times how 'months' have passed between major events. For example after the initial invasion and establishing the base in Alnus. The expansion of the Alnus community. Also after the end of Vol. 2 after killing the dragon remember that Itami had time to go back to Japan to visit his mother, comiket and other stuff while in the other world they have assembled volunteers for 'prospecting resources'. So it isn't strange that in that time they invited the media and inspectors.
As for the map, the manga tankoubons included a regional map and the manga artist pixiv has a bigger map (http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=38628158).

I guess that number 1000 on map represents kilometers?
I guess that number 1000 on map represents kilometers?
just some added comments
1. yes, it is 1000km scale, it is also the distance between Tokyo and Fukuoka, which give Japanese a sense of the size of special region.
2. so the radius of the circle, with Alnus in the center, is 1000km, which is what the JSDF known of the special region from information gathered by UAV, recons (both air and land) and talking to locals, and from Alnus to the Empire capital, as the bird fly, is 600km. this is important, as it is well within the range of CH-47J(LR).
3. as you can tell from the submap, the purple region are Empire population, the red region are the various kingdoms, and the white are unoccupied by people. the bunny head on the upper top indicated the head hunting rabbit tribe’s old grass plain location before they were destroyed by the Empire,
4. and that is not all, this map is what the Empire knows of the whole world, mainly the one single continent they live on, there should be land beyond the ocean, which the new novel can explore later when the JSDF move their navy into the special region. (this map, I guess, is what the author think of when you stretch and pull Asia and Europe of the Earth, you can see Africa in the lower left, so obvious there should be an America continent somewhere else.)

So their entire continent is ~4-5000 km in diameter from one end to another?
Giving that we can assume that planet is roughly the size of Earth. That is if this is one of major continental mass like Europe and Asia for us.
It would not be bad idea for JSDF to lunch satellite from Alnus and have it scan the planet itself.

Interesting. So the Empire occupies land separate from the mainland where the Gate is located? I assume the circle is where the Starfort is located. I first assumed the Empire capital was much closer to it.

More like 10000-12000 km. The radius of the circle in the middle of the map is 1000 km, so that circle is 2000 km across.

It's roughly the size of Eurasia, so it depends upon the size of the world. There are other continents, though. You can see them to the southeast and southwest.
Good idea to launch satellites to get a better idea of the planetary layout and eventually create a GPS system. Frankly wondering why that hasn't begun already. JAXA has that capability, especially given the additional income from the Special Area. And any differences in size or gravity from Earth's (which would require adjustments to the launch rockets) should be easily measurable from the ground with current technology.

You'd have to construct a majority of the rocket in the special region since obviously you aren't going to jam one through the gate as it's way to small. Hell even some of the parts for most rockets used to launch satellites are too large so even the parts would have to be constructed in the special region. This requires significant infrastructure. It's no surprise they aren't close to doing something like that. :P

i really wonder how A-1 studio's is going to handle the 2nd the second season. i know that compared to the light novel and manga, the anime had censored many graphic scenes, especially the rape scenes. I also noticed that the anime seems to be relatively more light hearted compared to the LN and manga. so i'm wondering how they are going to handle the more depressing and dark parts of the series, like what happened to the bunny kingdom or the japanese hostage. It was at this point in this story that I think the series got really dark compared to how it was at the start. basically i wondering if they are going to tone down the dark parts to keep it more light hearted, or just simply censoring it out.

Noriko will likely be handled much like in the manga, except she'll be clothed in her initial appearance. Not much will be changed about her story, if anything. She herself is a fairly bit character, but the story around her is absolutely pivotal.
The story of the fall of the bunny kingdom will have all the rape removed (though they might still hint at it). As for Tyuule, I'm not sure how they'll handle her. They may go a little darker than they've gone so far in detailing the things Zorzal is doing to her, but I doubt they'll show anything. Probably torn clothing and bruises after some off-screen "rough sex" noises, instead of the overt rape depiction and "butt naked with bite marks" aftermath in the manga (which was probably the most disturbing part of the manga so far).

Well, they have to show Zorzal being very nasty to her. Most obviously so that you immediately hate Zorzal, but since his every action makes that fairly easy to do, it's also so that the viewer is that much more shocked and torn when they see what she is doing and planning, and not just for Zorzal.

going on from that, i also wonder who is the most screwed over character in this series, tyuule or pina. When i say screwed over i mean, the one in the most messed up situation. tyuule, for obvious reasons, because of what happened to her and her country. for me, what happened to the bunny kingdom was the most depressing and messed up thing i've seen in any series. I consider pina to be screwed over well because she wants to make peace between her country and japan, especially after seeing evidence of how easily japan can annihilate her country. and yet whenever they make progress in peace talks, something happens, like the reveal of noriko, that just screws everything over for pina.

Piña is in the better situation by far. All she has to do to get out is choose one side to the detriment of the other. If she turns on the JSDF, sure, she'll probably end up dead—eventually—in a hail of bullets, but at least it'll be quick, and arguably more honorable, given that she is a princess of the Empire. If she turns on the Empire for Japan, she gets a first class ticket to a government-paid apartment in Tokyo, and after she gives up enough information to satisfy her handlers, she gets all the yaoi her "rotten" heart desires.
As for Tyuule, I haven't read beyond where the manga is (beginning of the third novel volume), but by all appearances, to be perfectly frank, she's fucked. There is no way out for her that ends well. She's bent on burning down the whole continent for revenge upon those who wronged her (real or perceived), and it looks like she's going to get her wish. Even if everything goes the way she wants, whatever Bouro has planned for her as "payment" for his services can't be pleasant, and the JSDF aren't going to be inclined to be very lenient when they find out they've been played, complete with casualties. If she doesn't get what she wants, and gets caught before her plan reaches fruition, I have little doubt that Zorzal will make what she's been through so far seem like winning the lottery.

^as we've seen from pina, with her personality, selling out her country is not a option, even though it is possible. that's why she actually bothers to try to mediate peace between their countries. she also knows of the many modern benefits that japan could to her country. at the same time however, she is completely terrified and frustrated at the fact that her country is at the complete mercy of japan. that's what drove her to try to secretly steal a pistol after the inn attack in the manga. so despite the benefits(yaoi manga) that pina received due to her relationship with the jsdf, she is still working herself to exhaustion to ensure peace between her country and japan. despite that, whenever it seems she is making a lot of progress, something happens, such as the reveal of noriko or the poisoning of her father, that completely fucks everything up for her.
in my opinion, tyuule, despite the fact she is a major reason why peace negotiations aren't going anywhere, is justified in her quest for vengeance, all wrongs against her are real and not perceived. i'm mean really, her kingdom was destroyed, her people killed or turned into sex slaves, and she herself turned into a sex slave for the man who destroyed her kingdom in the first place. seriously, i believe she is one of the most tragic characters i've seen in any series. i've no doubt that she has had many chances to kill zorzal, however that is not enough for her, and i honestly don't condemn her for willing to do anything fulfill her revenge. because really, even if her plans have a very high chance of her being killed or worse by either side, she knows she has nothing to lose anyway.

Her wish for revenge is justified, certainly. But the actions she has taken are not. If her only targets were the Empire and its military, that would be one thing, since those are the only ones who wronged her and her people. But the instant she tried to attack Japan to trick it into being the engine of her revenge, she was no longer justified. They haven't done anything to deserve being involved.
She was a tragic character, but that only goes so far. Now she's just evil and needs to be put down. She's the Joker at this point. She just wants to watch the world burn.

I can see that, but I'm pretty certain Itami's morals are beyond her experience. To me she is plainly struggling to understand Itami through the lens of how she understands the world to work. The situation they are in is compounding the pressure she's under: she really wants to serve Itami well, and she can tell that she's not succeeding, and she's having difficulty truly understanding why.

I don't see how Pina is in any way worse off in the story. For all intent and purposes, the GATE incident had elevated her role in the world and made her far more successful than she would have been allowed to be otherwise. She was the right person at the right time.
Yes, the Empire is in peril. But the peril is the same for everyone, Pina is not in any worse situation than anyone else in her nation. She was a minor princess of no importance, but she was resourceful and intelligent, and took a leadership role that she would not have achieved in times of peace. Further, she managed to stay loyal to her people, her country, and her role as princess. This is not easy to do. I don't think there is any need to feel sorry for her.
the new manga chapter is out, and is only 13 pages, which is labeled the first half of chapter 51.

I've only read the manga, but by the fact that each of the gaiden novels is centered around one of the heroines, I'd guess that all of them are teased to some degree, but it's still being dragged along.
The best answer to your question is probably going to end up being a follow up on Risa's (spot-on) speculation as to who Itami is attracted to and why: all three (not counting Piña or Yao), but for different reasons.
As for who he'll end up with by the time the story is over? Well, that's hardly a fair contest. Considering one of the girls already (literally) owns his soul, laying an ultimate claim on his heart can't be too much more difficult... ^_^

So is there finally any romance development on the MC and the heroines? and also did this series went the true harem route?
first, the story is NOT finished, so there is no end result for the harem, yet.
by the end of the gaiden, none of the 5 girls has sex with Itami, even thought there are many chances for that to happen, circumstances abort all of them, but there are plenty of romance developments, kisses, touching, etc. in a way you can say Itami has 4 girlfriends and a loyal attendant/slave, with all 5 girls serve unique role in the harem,
Tuka is the number one wifu, if there is a ranking of Itami’s feeling, also the most pretty one. which is acknowledged by the harem overall.
Rori is the head/leader of the harem, and most compatible character wise.
Lelei is the most indispensable one of all, the story can not continue without her, she is also the most scary one.
Pina is most compatible interest wise as a closet otaku, even if she is more into BL than Itami’s magic girl attributes,
Yao is your all purpose utility character who is as loyal as a dog and makes the story interesting with her bad luck attribute, which is why the story made her Itami’s slave, because there is no reason for her to stick around otherwise,
even Rori admits she does not know if she will get to keep Itami’s soul if Itami ended up dying on Earth, frankly I favor the true harem end, but the prerequisite is for Itami to give up living on Earth meaning dojinshi, which is the hangup through out the whole story, unlike most unresolved harem, Itami knew perfectly well how those girls feel about him and how he feels about them, but purposely did not cross the line because he wants to return Earth, to the girls it meant he favor dojinshi/2D girls more than them, but that is only Itami’s excuse, since when the story comes down to choices between Earth and rescue the girls, Itami without hesitation will even jump out of a plane to do so, consider he is afraid of height! as now I will rank the harem in the order I listed them above, with a possibility of one or two more characters joining in the future.
None sadly, he already has a waifu ;)

I'm a manga/anime-only reader, but from what I've been able to find on the internet, the sole requirement to become an apostle is to be chosen by a god. Rory isn't quite there yet. I think the contract with Rory is a simple "soul for power" contract. She gets his soul when he dies, and in return he's more or less invulnerable, as any damage he would have taken is transferred to Rory (I'm curious to see if he still ages, or if that is transferred as well). Becoming an apostle doesn't appear to be part of it. That said, if he's still alive when Rory ascends, I imagine she will be more than happy to choose him for apostlehood at that point.

On the subject of satellite launching:
There is a method to launch by airplane. Basically, you fly the plane to high altitude then launch. Pro: you dont have to build expensive and fairly permanent base facility to launch rocket. Just get that special plane through that gate, launch any you feel needful, then return the plane. no need to worry about losing investment on infrastructure. Con: Do the gate allow that size of the plane?
Another method is to build a fairly big long barrel cannon, and combine both explosive and magic to initiate a big enough explosion to send the payload to orbit. Aka Space Gun method. Fairly expensive and require specific talent manpower, however.
But any method require a sat-control station/facility around the Gate, which is a military base~ Hard, that.

You might be able to dismantle a larger plane into parts no larger than an F-4 Phantom (presumably with wings removed- the largest thing we know they brought through the Gate) and transport it there. I'm no aviation engineer so I can't tell you for sure!
However, you might not even need the satellite in order to do at least initial mapping of the Special Region.
This (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0c/View_from_the_SR-71_Blackbird.jpg) is a photo from an SR-71 Blackbird at 22,000 meters. If the JSDF could get a hold of an aircraft capable of such elevations, and outfit it with a variety of sensors to see through clouds etc, it would take numerous flights, but the Special Region, no doubt starting with the continent the JSDF are based on.
In fact, they would not need something of SR-71 level capabilities- the F-15, already in JSDF inventories has a service ceiling of 20,000 meters. So, it would probably be time and fuel consuming, but the Special Region could be mapped and reconned without launching a satellite.

There are reconnaissance pods that would fit on an F-4 pylon and they're good for nearly 20km in altitude. I presume the JSDF has already used that sort of capacity at least locally.

Balloons would do as good a job and be a lot cheaper -- it's possible for amateurs to loft cameras on simple balloons to 30 or 40kms altitude, a slightly more sophisticated balloon could carry download-linked cameras even higher. Wait for the upper winds to change and they could map quite large areas around the base in all directions, further than an F-4 could cover.

the F-4 Phantom being a naval fighter, was transported over with the wings folded on top of a flat bed.
the biggest airplane being brought over is already shown in the manga, the C-1 transport, approx the size of a C-130, it was done by taking apart the planes, (with wings removed, etc.)
and very logically, you only see the helicopter and light reconn planes being used in book 1, you see the Phantom in book 2, and you see the C-1 in book 3 of the novel, there is a time/progression correlation showing the JSDF gradually build up their inventory at special region.
However, you might not even need the satellite in order to do at least initial mapping of the Special Region.

yes, there are many ways to do this, what people keep forgetting when they play the "IF" games with Gate, the JSDF did not have a SR-71, it is kind of like talking about how many different ways to kill a flaming dragon with the American military, yes, there are many ways to do it except the JSDF AT ALNUS did not have those resources.
In fact, they would not need something of SR-71 level capabilities- the F-15, already in JSDF inventories has a service ceiling of 20,000 meters.
nerfed, think why they only brought over "2" Phantoms to the special region in the first place? the story is happening the way it was for a reason,
in the novel initially JSDF map the 1000km radius from Alnus by using UAV. by the time the gate close there was no time to do any further exploration, yes, with part II of the story coming they might, but for the first part of the book, with the limiter the author set, no way they can map the entire world in less than a year, (it can be done, only if you have American's military capability and budget.)

Truthfully, the only thing that matters is money/budget. If the force receive enough funding, they can release balloon on the sky or gliders to map the region, which is possible with Japanese own resource, no need to bring in foreign expertise.
the manga for the rest of ch 51, (label as 52) is out.
as one who read the novel, nothing is particular surprising, this conclude the gaiden section for this timeframe, and it fill the voids for why Yao prefer RPG as her weapon, how Tuka get to have a harp after her village was burn down, and why Yao was so readily accepted into the harem by the other three even with all the happening in book 2,
the only thing I don’t remember, if I miss it or not, is Sao moved Yao receives the lucky 5 yen coin from Itami to this juncture and not sometimes later, beyond not showing more skins from Rori, and her thanking Yao after the fact, (which is in the novel but not in the manga), I have no complains, this is one of the better arc in the entire novel, the only major things the manga cut off is the fake doctor in the local town.

I was looking up the meaning of the 5 yen coin culturally in Japan, and found an interesting aside. The coin has identical composition of zinc and copper as the copper alloy used in WW2 munitions. The coin was made using the scrap leftovers after they were used to stamp out the copper shell casings.
After the war ended, much of the old munitions were melted down to make new 5 yen coins, and the composition of the 5 yen coins stayed the same since then. The modern 5 yen coin symbolises both WW2 itself, and Japan's own transformation into modern society. By having the copper jackets melted back down to make coins that have images of rice plants, it could be a symbol of the Sword to Ploughshare mentality that allow the nation to heal. It is a coin that has many meanings, when seen in the context of a JSDF soldier in an alien land.

If you look at it closely you'll find it has teeth stamped around the hole on one side which represents a cog symbolizing industrialization also.
As for meaning of Go yen(5円) it's a homonym for relationship(御縁).

I imagine a number of the characters in this franchise (not to mention its fanbase) would find themselves agreeing with Jefferson's take on the matter.
"Those who beat their guns into plowshares usually find themselves plowing for those who did not."
"Healing a nation" is fine and all, but it's always a good idea to leave some of those guns intact. You never know when you might need them again, and you can always make plowshares by other means...

Since it is the AMERICANS who dismantled the Japanese military and facilitated the creation of Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution, I think you might have missed the point with your comment. Back then as the losers of a war, Japan didn't have any right to keep their arms. Not saying the population themselves wasn't also sick of war at that point, but basically it took a long time for the JSDF to be taken seriously after that.

And the JSDF is taken seriously today, and they certainly have their swords (modern weaponry) now, with the full support of the USA. Which I took to be Vallen Chaos Valiant's point.

Local manufacturing would require a much more secure area. They would likely want this but not before there is a truce or peace treaty. As it stands they have no immediate reason to want anything bigger than what can fit through the Gate, it just wouldn't be able to be justified consider the level of opposition they are facing. The JSDF actually has a budget to obey, they aren't like the US where the military get money thrown at them. Japan doesn't have an economy revolving around the military hardware.

2016-01-04, 02:58
Nah, from what I heard the USA got budget problem same as JSDF. It's just their budget are bigger, so it's easier to squeeze many elsewhere to concentrate on one area.
But constructing a plane from several part is not that trivial. At least, it require a humongous hangar to build the plane up. And if you have such a hangar, no way the airforce guys wont demand for more planes and facilities to protect such an juicy prize, and the ground force want to increase their own to protect the air guys, etc... It escalates.
It's expensive and timeconsuming.

Yeah, it is only profitable if they plan to stay there forever.
But seeing how Japan annexed that part of the land later on I see no problem for them building big city and factories.
They will also need big military base to protect all that.

There is still a standing order that if things get bad enough, they would evacuate back to Japan and blow up the Gate. This is part of why Itami didn't want to start psychological treatment for Tuka. They didn't even build that town that sprang up, the refugees and merchants did. If and when they get a peace treaty, part of the deal would have been the recognition of Alnus itself as Japanese territory. But until then further investment in infrastructure is problematic,.
Brother Coa
2016-01-04, 17:52
I agree, this is why I talked about future development where Japan decided to annex the territory for their own country and by doing that made official that they are there to stay ( and that was right after beating the Empire in a war ).
But of course this plot-point didn't reached the manga yet, but it is well described in this thread via light novel summarize.
EDIT: Just read the latest manga chapter, it seems that SDF was able to get Lockheed C-130 Hercules trough the gate and use it successfully.
And people argued about F-4 being able to get trough.... xD

Not only did they get a C-130 Hercules through the Gate, they also converted it from being a 4-engined turboprop to a twin-engined jet as well as changing the design of the fuselage and wings to make it look exactly like a Kawasaki C-2 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_C-2) transport plane.
The C-2 is significantly larger than a Hercules with a greater payload; the real problem with it appearing in the Gate world is that there are only two prototypes flying at the moment (as of late 2015) and canon has it that anything sent through the Gate is second-rate or reserve gear, not bleeding-edge just in case the Gate closes suddenly and the stuff on the other side can't be recovered.

Never get the reality get in the way of rule of cool ;)
On the serious side, exact date was never said ( only year 20xx ). So they could, for example, easily use even 2017 and get away with it.
And for the last part I will just say that they shifted that politics they had at beginning sometime later on - around the time the manga reached now it was already changed.

no no no, that is a C-1, a 1970’s JSDF transport predate the C-2.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_C-1
the novel started around 2006/7ish, C-2 was still only in development then, no way the author used it in the original novel. in fact, many hardwares in the manga like Type-10 MBT, Maneuver Combat Vehicle, TUSK package for tank, MRAP truck, etc, are manga only and never shown up in the novel due to the time difference between novel and manga.
and if people pay attention to what other people wrote, like mine just one page ago, then you would not make this obvious mistake.

It would be cool if a supernatural being from Japan came into the other world. Thou, I don't what kind would sneak though. For me, a shinigami would be cool (probably gets in a fight with Hardy).

I believe it was stated that the new novel wouldn't show up until all the original novels have been split in half and given the light novel treatment. IIRC, they are about 5 light novels away from that.

What was first finished were the bulk novels, which have been now turned into LNs, by dividing each bulk novel into 2 LNs.

The bulk novels were finished in 2011. On the Baka-Tsuki site, it says that the LNs (the splitted one) finished in 2013.

So Season2 will probably start around next year.

From what I understand the Gaiden series aren't quite as gaiden as the name would imply. They don't cover the main storyline of Japan's interactions with the Special Region (since the Gate is down during the timeframe they mostly cover), but they are predominantly a continuation of the overall story.
Also, there's a larger focus on the heroines, and you know how otaku are with their waifus...
Yeah, they're not really "gaiden", they are practically season 1.5
It's a different format than season one though, as each book focus on each of the heroine.
They take turns being the main heroine of the story basically.
As for when the LN Gaidens will be done, well, it's pretty much almost done.
All 4 main Gaiden books have Light Novel editions released, book 4 just came out.
In fact I just got them last week myself!
The only book left that's not released in LN (or bunko) format is Gaiden+, which is collection of shorter stories from various points in the chronology.
Gaiden book 4 was the last and latest as far as the story chronology goes.

Here's the end of Volume 3.
As the JSDF depart with the captive senators rescued, Zorzal and his men realize how small the forces attacking the capital was. Enraged at being made a fool of, he orders 4000~5000 men to pursue the enemy.
Meanwhile the rescued peace-treaty supporting senators such as Kikero are amazed at the flying vehicle as they depart the capital.
Misery and others from the slums bids farewell to Kuribayashi, as they head out to gather food from the land before returning to the capital. They plan to sell them at high costs as they predict there will be shortage of food in the aftermath.
Meanwhile Bozes tries to force her way to the palace to find Princess Pina, but stopped by the soldiers. She takes arrow in her shoulder and thighs, but Vifeeta arrives just in time to save her. Vifeeta attempts to flee from the capital carrying Bozes, but her pursuers closes in.
Meanwhile, Kengun orders his men to stand down and wait. The VIPs at the Jade Palace have been evacuated, and only his CH47 Chinook is left. He could not understand Vifeeta's words, but he had the feeling she told him to "wait".
Just as they were about to give up and lift off, his men spot Vifeeta on horseback, being chased by the imperial cavalry. Vifeeta has been hit by some arrows, and it was only a matter of time before the army catches up to her. Kengun and his 30 men open fire on the cavalry, but they are only able to remove some of the closest threat, as the enemy completely outnumbers them.
In a fierce struggle Kengun manages to carry Vifeeta into the Chinook, but many of his solders are severely injured for the onslaught. It was only after the helicopter was far in the sky that Kengun noticed he was still carrying Vifeeta in his arms, and she asks him to put her down.
As the Chinook flies over the imperial palace, Bozes spots Pina on the roof looking sadly at the helicopter. She pleads them to rescue her, but they have no fuel for another landing, nor can they risk it. As the heli flies away Bozes collapse in tears.
As the helicopters arrive in Alnus and the injured or fallen Rose Knights are being carried in, Komurazaki, the journalist, takes the opportunity to turn the camera on the injured women and accuse the JSDF of excessive violence resulting in unnecessary casualty to the public eye.
Upon hearing the news of the Flame Dragon's defeat, the refugees of Koda village, including the mayor, return to find their homes destroyed and ravaged. Shocked, they search for any villages still intact, and comes across a horde of goblins and orcs led by imperial troops plundering a village. Two children runs to the mayor for help, and as he flees the scene with the children in his wagon, the imperial troop sends centaurs and hellhounds after them. As his horse dies, the mayor prays to Emroy to bless him until his last breath as he readies his sword.
Rory arrives on the scene, blessing the old man and killing the hordes after him.
Scene goes back in time to when Lelei announced her findings at the academy...
The academy was shocked at her findings. She most certainly deserved the rank of arch mage with this, but the consequence may be far more lives lost in warfare involving magic.
As for the assassination, Lelei wore a wyvern armor under her robe, protecting her form Shandy's blade.
They question her what the Piper told her to make her do such a thing.
Apparently she was told of the situation in the imperial palace. Even Prince Diabo had fled from the palace as his brother took over the Capital. Shandy's mistress, Princess Pina is held in captivity, and she was told to bring Lelei's head to show her loyalty to the throne.
Sandy said she even rushed to Elrond to confirm the reports true.
She pleads Grey to continue her mission to save Pina, but Grey tells her it would be far more realistic to simply ask Lelei's team to help them rescue the princess. Shandy cannot believe that option is feasible, as the palace is guarded by tens of thousands of men.
But Grey knows the might of Rory and others, he actually finds the feat to assassinate Lelei a much harder option than infiltration of the palace.
Grey tells Itami that going after the Piper is likely futile, and to end this going after the source is a better option. Shandy cannot believe her ears, as he is suggesting treason to the throne and killing a royal. Grey tells her he is not of noble origin, and is not bothered by such action if it meant saving her highness.
------
After the initial chaos has subdued and Misery and others made off with selling food at inflated price, Tuwar (the young teen harpy girl prostitute that predicted the earthquake) is bidding farewell to Misery. Her young boyfriend, a good natured man named Prairie proposed to Tuwar and they are going back to his village to raise a family and tend to the farm.
Prairie was a grunt working under the Gonzola family, one of the powerful mafia running the slums. The young boss of the Family gave farewell along with Misery. After the couple left, he makes a move on Misery, perhaps wishing the same type of happiness his underling found. But Misery has no intention of quitting being a whore, and rejects him.
He forcefully grabs her hand, but is stopped as Rory arrives and puts her halberd on his neck.
Itami greets Misery, and she recognizes him as Kurokawa's boss.
Itami's girls reacts to their acquaintance, suspecting him of going to whores and begin questioning Itami.
Zorzal and the hawkish senators debate on how to fight against the enemy's firearms.
They assessed the armor would need to be triple layered to even stop these bullets, but Zorzal has a better idea. He orders to use powerful monsters as meatshieds. He shows them a prototype solder - a Giant Ogre wearing massive and thick plated armor. Using giant monsters have been a dangerous idea and has failed in the past, but he insists they have it under control.
Meanwhile the senate also discuss on what to do with Pina. Her knights have betrayed them, and surely Pina is involved in their uprise. He orders them to bring her to questioning.
Itami & co arrives at the palace, with the armored vehicle disguised as a wagon. Itami recalls his meeting with the JSDF leaders. They saw what the Empire was doing to the villages, destroying them and blaming the act on JSDF. They know something has to be done against this.
The leaders gives permission to Itami on operation to rescue the princess, but under the condition to not assassinate Zorzal. He is currently the enemy leader, and killing him outright would not be a good move at this point.
The two options is to make Zorzal fear for his life, that if he doesn't call off the assassins, his own life may be in danger. The other is to spread rumor around that Zorzal ordered assassination of Lelei, who is hailed a hero in the Empire right now by the Emperor himself.
Lelei and Rory are welcomed into the palace. One is a Dragonslayer hero, and other, the Apostle of Emroy. They are to be treated with highest regard. Itami accompanies them, and is thought to be a slave by Nei, the grand chamberlain.
Rory asks to see Malt, the Emperor she casually refers to by his first name, but Nei respectfully declines admission stating his majesty is ill, and cannot see anyone right now.
Itami reports as code name Avenger to the Spec Ops. The Spec Ops are in place to begin the diversion.
Pina is brought to the court, as the Senators mock her as a traitor and a foolish little girl.
She laughs at their face for calling this a fair trial, and refuses to give them any insight.
She mocks at the heavily armored Giant Ogre, as that would do nothing to stop JSDF, and only pose a threat to the Imperial troops. The reason why heavily armored monsters are never used in warfare, is because they become uncontrollable. The imperials use the monsters with fear. But giving unpenetrable powerful armor to a powerful monster such as a Giant Ogre, they become no longer fearful of their masters and turn on them.
Pina says whoever came up with this idea is a clueless moron. Zorzal enraged at his sister's words, orders the guard to make her shut up.
Tyuule laughs at this farce. She finds joy in seeing the royal princess brought down to her level.
She wishes misery and suffering on all of the Empire. But the farce is cut short as the door is blown open.
Rory had busted the door open, and tells Itami and Lelei that she'll secure the way out.
Itami and Lelei approach the throne.
Zorzal reels in fear at seeing Itami, as it was he that brought the nightmare that day.
Tuule laughs with even more joy seeing him cower in fear.
Pina clings to Itami, thanking him for coming to save her.
Zorzal orders the Armored Giant Ogre to kill the intruders. Itami is excited to see the visual of the armored ogre, almost resembling a full armored robot. He shoots the ogre, but his gun have no effect on the thick armor.
However his action bought enough time for Lelei to use her magic. She sends her funnels to the ogre, which sends explosive force funneled through Neumann effect right into its body, killing it instantly. The same spell she used to harm the Flame Dragon.
Lelei approaches Zorzal, who is shaking in fear. He tells her who she is, and demands he stop sending her his assassins.
Zorzal tries to claim innocence, but the Dragoslayer's words ring true.
Itami takes a golden goblet held in Tyuule's hands, and puts it in Zorzal's hands.
Itami calls out to "Archer", and the sniper shoots a hole through the goblet.
Zorzal drops the goblet in fear as Lelei tells him if he does not pull back his assassination orders, they will put a hole in your head just like this goblet. We will be watching you from afar always.
He nods repeatedly while shaking.
Itami and Lelei retreats as Rory slaughters the guards.
The three gets back to the armored vehicle and fends off the enemy while they wait for the rest of the team.
Kenzaki and rest of the group joins in along with the rescued Emperor, his loyal servant Count Marcus, and Hamilton.
Lelei drives the car through the streets of capital as the imperial guards pursue.
The Emperor wakes up and explains to others what he suspects Japan's intention is.
With both Pina and Malt at their side, they could claim Zorzal's succession to be an uprise, and his seat of power illegal. Pina is worried that this will split the empire into a civil war, but Malt tells his daughter a civil war is inevitable at this point.
He tells her he will appoint her the Crown Princess. It will be up to her whether she wants to split the empire and rule them separately, or take up arms and overthrow Zorzal.
Matoi ("Archer", the sniper) gets rid of the closest pursuers using claymore mines he set ahead of the operation, and the group makes their way out of the capital.
Zozal flees the capital in fear of the sniper, and heads north to distance himself as far as possible from Alnus.
Furuta asks Tyuule if he could be of any help. She looked troubled, and he wanted her to talk to him of what's on her mind.
She mutter why anyone won't try to save her.
... When Itami nodded to her back in the palace, for a moment she thought perhaps he was going to save her, like he did Noriko. But in the end he just wanted to take the goblet out of her hands.
If he had said he came to save her, and reached out his hands, she probably would have taken those hands without even thinking.
End of volume 3
Tyuule is twisted by her trauma and plots evil schemes, but I can't help but feel sorry for her...

Here a question is a demi-goddess truely immoral or have there bet said away to kill them like for example if you throw then into the sun would they live or drop an Atom Bomb on then because if you look up what the Atom Bomb did it would destory every atom in there body and there be nothing to regeneration from I know the God and Goddess are immoral because they don't have a body but even they are beat about because that God of Calamity that was seal a way in the ground or each other could beat each other or The Ghostbusters because there just Spirit.

I feel sorry Tyuule despite her personality. I really want to think there is still a shred of good in her left. I hope someone helps her. I really want to find her fate in Vol 4 and in any Gaiden volume.
Lelei is on the verge of making magic science a reality. She need to keep this for herself because the world be in total chaos.
I still think Itami and Rory should have a kid; maybe in Season2 part. The birth of the kid would done though "some other" method. Maybe a lock of hair from both of them. There are other ways to have kid in the other world.
Looking forward in reading Vol 4 summary soon.

Not much detail is revealed about how indestructible their existence is, but we do know that they can survive even if they are reduced to bits of cells. Annihilating every molecule in their body may kill them, but that is not feasible by Special District's technology, and frankly it would be very hard even by our standards. (otherwise near-eternal nuclear wastes wouldn't be such a problem for us :heh:)
The atomic bomb isn't called that because it destroys "every atom in your body". It's called an atomic bomb, because the explosion is triggered by massive influx of energy caused in the nuclear reaction of splitting an atom.
As a weapon the Atomic Bomb is simply a very high heat source, followed by radiation poisoning. Being in near vicinity of the impact can instantly vaporize an organic being, much like any other heat source of that magnitude. Most victims of the Atomic bomb did not evaporate however, they died from their flesh burning and decomposing of dead cells.
Also, apparently some demi-gods have died in the past by their master god taking away their godhood. If they deem them unworthy. This however may not apply to Wareharun, as she achieved demi-godhood all on her own evolution and serves no god in particular.

I was trying to say instantly vaporize by Atom Bomb that left only a black outline of where the person was standing.
Thank you for the info but how immoral the demi-goddess being could be a good plot point for the books season 2 because our World have the Crazy Reilgion people which would be in rage by any being calling themself God or Demi-God who isn't there God so seeing those people trying to kill Demi-God to prove there not chosen by God or proving the one who give them there power are not Gods by killing these immorals.
That was something I wanted to see in season 1 of books, a Reilgion invasion by Earth and what the Gods of The Other World would do if Earth try that because Reilgion invasion have happen in Earth's history.
Not to nitpick, but vaporization is a shifting of state, not destruction of an atom.
Destroying atoms is very, very hard.
Atomic bombs are not anti-matter weapons. :heh:
You mean "immortal" and not immoral, right? Unless you're talking about doujins of hentai goddesses. :heh:
Also "religious warfare" only exists in pretext, most conflict are actually over resource, economical, and territorial driven. There hasn't been any real religious warfare in the modern day, why would you think there would be a major one over this?

Because even in real life we are having problem which ISIS which is Crazy Reilgions people who have distortion there believe but everything else you said is right and maybe not Reilgions warfare but different Reilgion trying to get this new world people to believe what they believe, by trying to get missionaries to go there.
Ps. I have problem which English so trying to not use big word which are hard to remember is something I do unless someone else write the words first and use of Google
