Cutest Anime Girl? [Archive]

An impossible question to answer for me.

It's like asking "What's you favorite song?"

Gah....

That being said, the answer would have to be qualified as "Who do you think is the cutest [i.e. kawaii] anime girl you have seen or viewed lately?" ... I think I might be able to answer that.

Should know that I make a difference between kawaii and moe ... kawaii implies adorable and endearing in general without obvious sexual vibes, while moe can have those qualities but includes an element of sexual attraction. To use extreme examples for me, Yune from Ikoku Meiro no Croisee, Flower from Kowarareke no Orgel and Yayoi from The iDOLM@STER are kawaii; Erio, Ryuko and Meme from Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko are moe.

Of course there is cross-over and such, and I know this is purely personal taste.

That being said to answer the OP with the qualifications above the most recent character that I saw and thought they were almost inhumanly adorable almost to the point of getting hives has got to be Takatsuki Yayoi from iM@S.

Flower is probably right for most people, but then there are people like me who can definitely say who I consider is most moe or what is my favorite song. I can rank within the first few tiers of anything, let's say 1-30 of a moe list, and after that it gets too fuzzy. Kudos to Yayoi though, totally the best iM@S character. *hides*

It's impossible for me to decide! Too many to consider! I mean... anime girls are generally designed to be cute by default. I mean sure... I have my favourites, but it is generally a result of several factors, and not just their level of cuteness.

All joking aside, yeah... while there's other characters I'd definitely add to a short list for most charming anime girl, Matsuri is by far my favourite.

She's not the cutest girl around, imo, but her overall style is very appealing and charming. As much as I love Kotomi Ichinose, she's almost too innocent to be "charming", per se.

Kotomi's eccentric mannerisms are charming but she doesn't have the "spark" to compete with Matsuri or the rest of the shortlist.

I'd tend to say she's more oblivious than innocent though. Thing about it from the perspective of trying to show you're interested in her or date her... she's probably "book smart" about the subject but would miss most of your signals.

There is one thing that separates Yune among the rest, she's too innocent, too cute, too fixated to her duties, and never had go overboard like Erio (messing with her cousin have go way beyond) or Fear (not only master of torture device but master of misunderstandings.) or even my current favorite imouto Kobato (she's just moe but not cute enough to be the best and attitude is still an issue.) or the Ro-Kyu-Bu! team (They are cute but again not cute enough even with Hina around.)

I don't like Yune enough to want to bump someone like Kotomi off to make way for her, but yeah, she's one of the cutest there is.

I named my laptop (a Thinkpad X120e) after her... got it while Ikoku Meiro was airing, took it out of the box and thought "wow, this thing is so light and tiny it feels like a toy compared to my old Dell". And then I remembered the bit where one of the Frenchman says he mistook Yune for a doll... and the connection stuck.

I haven't seen Air the movie, but when I first started watching Air TV I was pretty disgusted with Misuzu and the gangs' style animation; their mouths were half way up their face :heh: but it reallllly grew on me, and now I prefer it over what picture's I've seen of the movie.

I think Misuzu from the TV series has looks that promote her innocence and that adds to the drama of the story for sure.

That's convincing enough for me, I'll def have to check out the movie for sure.

And Another reason I like her childishness is cause I think it's interesting to see her state deteriorate towards the end of the show. She is pretty kid like anyways, but then she has her hair cut like a child, loses her ability to walk, and then has that thing where she has to walk to her "mom". I think it's a very touching progression, makes me think of muscular dystrophie or something.

Awww! That's okay, take your time with it. It's certainly sad but beautiful, and in a way it's nice closure. It says, "That happened, that was nice" and it sets up the continuation of Yukito's REAL journey! One of my favorite endings in that way.

I've seen some of it....but not the parts with her. Still, saying she's the "cutest anime character is existence" is a very tall thing to say. People are going to go "yeah right", no matter what character is suggested because everyone has a different idea of "cutest".:p

In order to be cute, one needs to look cute. She looks cute but she's not like "OMG SQUEE" when you first look at her, if you don't know her. There are many characters that look cute enough to make me squeal even if I've never seen their anime or know what they're like. Visual Key's girls immediately come to mind, as Noizi Ito's, simply because they're so talented at producing freaking adorable character designs.

Now, I'm WELL aware that personality and mannerisms alone can make a character cuter, but I think it's just better to have the whole package.

In the movie, she dies in Haruko's arms after running to her just like in the TV series. The only difference is that Yukito had to witness it in person....which honestly made it worse for me. :(
