Note : Aisora launched the light novel series with illustrations by Koin (Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox) in 2009, and Softbank Creative published the seventh volume this past April.

They are all based on a LN series, which as far as I know has not been translated into English anywhere, which is what I assume the thread was made for? Or if a manga adaptation were to start up when the anime series starts? Not sure....

This is an odd series that it is hard to find info about in English, and although I have seen Japanese wiki pages for it, when put through the Google translator the results were kinda difficult to read.... Maybe those who have read the originals will share their thoughts? :)

Yay! There is going to be an actual anime of the story! I kind of liked the flash shorts so I started looking around for info about the novels. It's kind of like your typical boy meets alien girl story... But for some reason I like the idea of having a moefied version of Cthulhu and the other Lovecraftian beings :heh:

I created this topic only to see how Hasta's gender is, even though we're talking about the light novel the series originates from. While I still think Hasta as a reverse trap, I wonder how anyone would translate this Japanese quote. 小柄な美少女のようにしか見えないが、性別は♂。Pretty much confirmed to be a feminine boy but I'm not sure.

If he/she is a reverse trap, I just can't stand why Hasta wears boy's clothes all the time, even during the swimsuit moments.

Everytime I look at feminine guys like Hasta, it's hard to identify which gender he is, especially if he is voiced by a girl (there's some exceptions in it). If he is voiced by a male, I could easily classifies him as a male.

I basically figured out the gender from the school uniform. It's rare for a school to allow cross-dressing unless you happen to be Yukimura from Haganai or have the backing of a family like Yui from TWGOK.

The tv series -_- I like the way they do things because it's funny but they are ruining cuco's moments. They skip a whole volume and onto Hasuta already and even go to beach arc which I don't know if it's in the novel too because I only had a copy up till 6. I wish to see a dere cuco and not because of Nyaruko but Mahiro. >.> I want to see that chuu too in vol 6 but I get a rape scene of mahiro instead (go Nyaruko drools) which is not bad :p

I find the show have been kinda declining with the late episodes. I wonder if it's like that in the novel as well. What really had me captured by the show was the high tension. Well of course I understand that first impression must be kicking and then it'd be natural for later episodes to calm down for a while. I do hope to see the feelings I had with the earlier episodes back however.

That being part of the reason i am currently craving for the novel spoilers.

Can anybody give even a lite summary of the last couple of volumes? It seems even despite this getting 2 seasons of anime, the light novel will never get translated, and the forums on it seem dead. The one thing I am really interested in is Mahiro's dad. I speculated that since he is never shown, and since Mahiro seems to attract aliens for no reason, and following Lovecraft tradition, his dad would be an alien/eldritch god, specifically Yog Soth or Aztoth. Yog Soth would be pretty hilarious because Nyaholthep is Yog Soth's underling, or at least often depicted that way.

I have heard one person his dad was Azatoth, but I haven't heard anything else since, and I figure with that kind of revelation, there would be some information on it somewhere.

This is only hearsay, but I heard that Nyaruko is brutal with a bunch of jokes that are really hard to translate and that is the reason no one has tried despite it popularity. So as far as I know the anime is about the only translation we have, other than some tidbits on tropes.

I mean its always possible it gets translated by being picked up for license in the US, but those announcements seem random and all over the place, but maybe a few years down the road if LN became bigger in the US, it might get picked up then.

They really should make another season covering Vol 8-10 & 12. If they don't then I hope at least someone will make a summary of vol 12 so that we know how the series ends.

Judging from the title, I think it's the final. It will probably cover only vol 12 but at least we get to see how the series ends. I just hope the anime ending doesn't deviate much from the LN ending.

The image was of the page from the final LN of when he had 'fun' with her in bed. He wasn't that great the in the morning at breakfast. In a way it's a good ending to the series. Though not for his human mind. Oh well.
