First things first, there are a few things I would like to update you guys.
The number reflected here will be the order of things I will get done.
1. The BT's Oda Nobuna page has not been updated recently, not with translations nor any new synopsis updates. I will look into it first while uploading new volume information into it.
2. TLC-ing of Chap1 of Bontenmaru will commence shortly. You might see it updated today or tomorrow.
3. Translation of V10c5 has commenced last month and will continue to be translated by me. Do not fear, C4 is well on it's way... This 2 chapters will be uploaded at the same time once they have been translated.
4. Chinese translation of at least a chapter of the new gaiden of ONNY has been completed. I will look into it and see if I can get it translated and done soon.
5. Chinese translation of V11C2 has completed 2 or 3 weeks ago and is now on C3. I will see if I can get at least a teaser out from C1 to get you guys hooked for more.
6. Finally, Vol 12 of ONNY seems to have been delayed with no tentative date of release.[EDIT] It will be released on Oct 20th While that's sad, we the translators will have more time to catch up with the immense amount of content that the author had thrown us. Let's hope we can get it up to date by the time vol12 reaches us.

here's a few bullet points

- yoshiharu shields nobuna from a few stray arrows with his back and after falling in the water he hit his head and lose his memories of when he was with the oda clan
- he gets saved and cured by murakami and takakage kobayakawa
- the cold-blooded tsundere mori commander kobayakawa takakage joins the harem
- nagahide is subtly implied not to be indifferent to mc charm in 2 occasions
- by using the amnesiac yoshiharu as bait, shikanosuke is easily captured
- ukita naoie is confirmed lolicon
- shikanosuke claims to be yoshiharu's exclusive-use sex slave and casually confesses to him
- the second naval war between murakami pirates and oda navy takes place 6 months after the end of vol 10
- just before that, oda's fleet of 7 iron castles clashes with magoichi and utterly destroy her fleet
- yoshiharu almost manages to defeat the state of the art ironclad oda navy while acting as the murakami pirates strategist, then hanbei saves the day. his plan was to sink the flagship by having all the 600 small wood ships throw magnets at just one side of the flagship
- kanbei is butthurt again because her invention (the ironclad castle-ship) was countered while hanbei's ring formation turned the tables
- mitsuhide finally becomes aware of her feelings, goes into a love trance and first french kisses mc (this somehow restores his memories), then keeps kissing him all over his face. just a few seconds before she had her mind completely set on eliminating yoshiharu
- nobuna and mitsuhide almost kill each other over a love dispute
- best girl yoshimoto is back, as yoshiharu's temporary wife until tenkafubu is achieved. honorable mention to mitsuhide, inuchiyo, hanbei and kazumazu as they also nominate themselves for the role
- yoshiharu doesn't want to fight the mori clan again and, as he is the trait d'union between mori and Oda, he is entrusted with the just conquered Harima and put in charge of everything related to the campaign against the mori clan
- Uesugi Kenshin is a buddha jedi (deflects bullets, can see the future in her dreams and can entrance and paralyse people just with a glare or the sound of her biwa)
- massive anti-oda alliance (takeda-hojou-kenshin) declared by kenshin herself in kyoto

mitsuhide is still loyal to nobuna but she won't give up yoshiharu no matter what, even if ordered to do so by her. the big difference is that she is not deluding herself trying to make up excuses not to admit nobuna and yoshiharu's relationship anymore

during the banquet after the naval victory against the murakami pirates Nobuna is willing to give mitsuhide a reward for bringing back yoshiharu from the murakami pirates and expects mitsuhide to pick Harima's land as compensation;
however mitsuhide surprises everyone by declaring that she doesn't want land nor money but yoshiharu as her prize.
nobuna tries to make her reason but mitsuhide tells her that she is well aware that yoshiharu and nobuna love each other but she's now also fully aware that she herself loves yoshiharu; then mitsuhide says that she is the legal wife while nobuna is just one of the many mistresses ensnared by the frivolous yoshiharu.

Nobuna threatens to kill her and is about to unsheathe her sword; mitsuhide doesn't back down and replies that if nobuna unsheathes the sword she will pull the trigger of her revolver and that a gun is much faster than a sword;
nobuna is like "bring it on then, let's see who is faster" but yoshiharu manages to stop them by diverting their rage on him.
Later on, when they are deciding who will act as yoshiharu's temporary wife to cool down all the men who are now looking at nobuna as some kind of idol/goddess and want to kill yoshiharu for laying his dirty hands on her, a few girls nominates themselves for the role and when it's mitsuhide's turn the dialogue is more or less like this, going by memory:
nobuna: "no way, you are probably thinking that you can steal him for good if you manage to make a baby with him in that period"
mitsuhide: "of course I am"
nobuna: "are you idiot!? at least try to make up a lie and say 'there's no way I would do that' or something! no you are no good, I must choose someone yoshiharu cannot cheat with "

I just picked this up, without spoiling to much does Nobuna get less Tsundere obnoxious as the novels go on? I am on chapter 2 of volume 3, and I am struggling to find a female character I actually like. Nobuna is taking the Tsun crap to pure bitchiness and stupidity just to prove a point how Tsun she is. Inuchiyo and Goemen are likeable so far, but I am starting to actively hate Juubei and Riku.

I hated Nobuna because that useless piece of shit is like ....crying in each volume (average), and not to mention everybody around praise her like a genius she is not.

If you ship the main hero and heroine, you'll hate Juubei, because she's the black sheep that cockblocks Nobuna from doing ecchi things with Saru, thus allowing the novel to continue.

Juubei has done a lot for Nobuna and Saru, and not as useless as her lord. That's why I ship her with Saru. The only reason she's probably going to lose to Nobuna is because Saru met Nobuna first, lel.

Owh, the other girls are better than Nobuna too. Especially Kobayakawa :love:

Some info from 2ch: Juubei is likened to Lady Rokujo now, as compared to Murasaki (which is probably makes sense more if Juubei is going for Tenkai route, and the Chinese Bellflower/purple themes of Akechi Mitsuhide through out the ages).

kobayakawa was really lovely in the last volume and I really wished yoshiharu had met her before nobuna, but yoshimoto is the angel of seduction and the anime seiyuu made her even cuter (yeah I'm a yoshimoto shipper). mitsuhide keeps getting better and better.
I'm now looking forward to see how yoshiharu deals with kenshin in this volume, according to a 2ch user he manages to get a 15 days armistice.

Yea, at later volumes she is still tsundere, but the dere outshines the tsun.
You gonna probably hate Juubei for a while but that migth change later too.
About Riku, it's the character i deslike the most, but maybe, someday, in the future she will have more time since she barelly appears at all.

it focuses on kenshin (main heroine) and yoshimoto. Apparently yoshiharu kisses the former in this volume (according to some 2ch posters)

The following points only relate to the first 24 pages when we see yoshimoto and yoshiharu together in a tea room almost ready to go to azuchi castle to get married:

- hanbei and kanbei are outside the room (yoshimoto was adamant in not allowing anybody in) and hanbei tells her that she has an unrequited love; kanbei is dense enough not to figure out who she is talking about.
- inside the tea room yoshimoto is clinging to yoshiharu's arm pushing her breasts on him and we get to know that she is actually well endowed in that department (katsuie/takeda tier, according to her own words)
- yoshiharu is a little uncomfortable because they are only supposed to have a fake marriage to deceive the public opinion; however yoshimoto is totally serious and declares that she might have given up on her dream of conquest but she won't do the same with yoshiharu as she also admits that she had her heart stolen by him.
- she then keeps seducing yoshiharu and when he finally can't think straight anymore and is about to jump on her breasts, she casually stands up and says it's time to go to azuchi's castle, while yoshiharu's face hits the floor (she didn't avoid him on purpose as yoshiharu was having an interior monologue before jumping her)

@hellraiser: Why's Saru and Yoshimoto getting married?

Because after what happened towards the end of vol 10 (Nobuna and Yoshiharu declaring their love for each other and kissing in the middle of a battlefield while the celestial gate to the future was opening) the public opinion was divided in two groups: women all around Japan started cheering for Yoshiharu and Nobuna's impossible love while men started considering Nobuna as some kind of goddess/idol and therefore didn't want her to be tainted by any man (the general consensus was that Yoshiharu had to die for trying to steal their idol).
As Yoshiharu lost his memory and was separated from the Oda clan for 6 months, everything was ok though and Nobuna's image kept growing in people hearts.
After Yoshiharu came back to the Oda's side (at the end of vol 11) though, in order to prevent Nobuna's reputation from dropping down, Yoshiharu from getting persecuted and, more importantly, not to give a pretext for Kenshin and Shingen to proceed to the capital, the idea to arrange a fake (or should I say temporary, until tenkafubu is achieved) marriage came up and Yoshimoto seized the chance to nominate herself for the role (she stormed inside the banquet room uninvited)
and managed to convince Nobuna and the others that she was the best option. Although Nobuna was suspicious of Yoshimoto's suddenly motivated behaviour, in the end she agrees but threatens to decapitate both of them should she find them doing anything indecent.
Soon after that, while Yoshimoto and Yoshiharu are walking together around the capital and acting as lovers (they enter every single tea shop in kyoto and feed each other cookies, with Mitsuhide watching over them from a distance), they meet a disguised Uesugi Kenshin playing her biwa in one of them.
Yoshiharu sits next to her and they briefly talk to each other without revealing their own names then when nobuna and mitsuhide suddenly barge into the shop to apprehend Kenshin, she finally makes her alliance with Shingen and Hojou public and officially declares war against the Oda clan and Nobuna who is selfishly wanting both tenkafubu and to pursue a selfish love that goes against laws and traditions.
Kenshin also hates Shingen for ousting her own father but this time around she is able to overlook all of that and form an alliance with her to take down the person who negates all of her principles. She then runs away in her white horse after effortlessly dodging a few close range bullets from Mitsuhide (or maybe it's more correct to say that the bullets dodged her).
So, in an attempt to avoid total war against such a big alliance, the procedures for the fake marriage are hastened at the beginning of vol 12

For Clarification. Yes, I'm Arker, the one in the fb group currently translating Vol 9.5 Chapter 2. I intend to finish that up before continuing with Vol 10 Chap 5 that was half(?) done by Tarmade (unless he regains his motivation).

For those not in the fb group i suggest joining in on it because though there are quite a great deal of notifications, new posts and the like, there are quite a good deal of important information like for example myself, Tarmade or other people making relevant and important posts in there pertaining to the translation of Oda Nobuna.

Tarmade is not translating anymore due to a lack of motivation/time/real life crisis. However he did say that he will continue to check it which means that TL speed will be based on how fast the remaining translators translate and the speed that Tarma checks (Which is actually much faster compared to how 'fast' i translate.)

Quick Update: Vol 9.5 Chap 2 is about half done. I'm slow, I know and I'm sorry but starting at a page of Chinese characters for any more than half an hour is painful for my eyes (That and I'm busy marathoning anime/reading fanfiction/playing games like tf2 that burn my time).

This is a update regarding bontenmaru chapter 2. I finished TLing it already, it has 13k words fyi (I cry, but it's still not as bad as Venis's 25k noucome chapter). However since Boss Tarma is busy with school work, don't expect it very soon (his estimation is next weekend before he can start TLC).
Okay just a heads up regarding the rest.
1) After my vacation I'm going to finish vol 10 chapter 5 it's about 25-33% done (Unless boss regains his motivation).
2) This is something that will probably drag on till next year. so after volume 10 I was thinking of finishing volume 9.5. (unless i get pissed with bontenmaru then I'll do volume 11 as a refresher or smth). Okay now the problem is the next 2 chapters of Bontenmaru are going to be about as long or longer than the current one... so don't expect me to blaze through it.
Also I need to remug physics and math because they both burdened me this year as well as read General Paper essays to prep for english next year. Add that to killing time (reading manga/other light novels/bugging Venis [Niku]/reading fanfics) and I probably doubt Bontenmaru will progress much but hey I'll try my best. (Can someone srsly tell me how Js06 can translate so damn fast. Or can someone install the program zzhk.exe is using into my brain)

I'm not back...

What actually happened is that I've stepped down from translating to concentrate on my studies, work and personal life. Motivation had really gone down to almost zero after the long break from translation and I find it hard to start again. With assignments piling up, it seems fit to not continue and let Arker take over.

Of course, that does not mean I'm totally gone. Arker is fairly new and have a little difficulty in Chinese>Eng TL. So i will stay and TLC his work as always and after that, post it up. Credits will all go to him as the TL of course.

Will I be back in translating? I dunno man, I know Nobuna is getting to the real juicy parts like the navy battles, and Yoshiharu losing his memories but unless some miracle happens and I gathered up enough strength to continue, I doubt so.

Will I be around? Definitely yes. My FB group is always open for people wishing to discuss anything LN related. Translations will continue, thanks to Arker but things will be slow.

heh... I was mostly doing jakigan since Tarma and another guy was doing the rest of vol 10... then tarma lost motivation and i was roped in to do chap 5... Pretty sorry bout the delay... cause games, anime and other stuff pretty much sapped my motivation to TL these past 2 months and before that i had school (you know being asian, grades > basically everything else society-wise)... I could post the raw, unchecked, un TLCed version up on a google docs if you guys want... I'll get to it (if there's a demand for it) after the team finish their edits... It'll be a christmas gift of sorts... If they make it in time... if not then it'll be a new year's gift...

30% on Volume 10 chap 5, wanted to do more then school kicked me in the balls and spit on me. It's probably going to take a long time considering tests are incoming for the next 4-5 weeks

Chapter 4 is being done by Kinji Onii-sama (Known on BT as Nii-sama or KanzakiAria, former main translator of Hidan no Aria) so yeah he's intending on focusing on canon while i'll probably work on jakigan after these 2 chaps of course. Of course I might crash the later volumes for fun if i have time.

So in summary, Chapter 4 is in good hands, chapter 5 is coming along slowly and probably will take lotsa time

Vol 10 chap 5(the one i'm working on) is currently about half done... chill i'm trying to properly work out a schedule balancing my school work, life and this part time hobby...

I haven't been doing work this entire term because of school and even then my grades were acceptable but not optimal. Add that to the fact that I am technically in a pressure cooker school environment, Asian so grades are extremely important, and need time to slack off and you basically have a recipe for disaster. Something's gotta give in this relationship and unfortunately it's TLing this time... I'll try to rush it out during the march hols... but 50% is a little uh yeah... I don't have any plans on dropping it though.

The other guy doing chapter 4 is probably about the same as me i guess... since his school is more demanding than mine even though he is my junior age wise (i think)

Based on our current plans the guy doing chap 4 will continue with vol 11 and i'll finish up jakigan... since I'm more skrub

Ok, V10C5 is now done and uploaded. Upon closing the volume, I have these thoughts that I would like to share with you guys.

To me, ONNY always feels like ZnT to me. The protagonist getting transported to another world and meeting a girl, and that girl became his master, then falling in love with each other. It's exactly the same thing, if you discount the fact that one is a loli. That said, it feels almost unfair that ZnT enjoys the popularity that ONNY can only dream of. Though, that may just be me being biased.

At first thought, ONNY may look like a typical sengoku novel that had all the generals turned into bishoujos and moe-ified. Just look at Ikkitousen or Koihime Musou, they are similar shows that may seem too much for history fans to go into. However, ONNY taught me alot about Japan history, especially about Oda Nobunaga as well as the battles he fought. This is one of the main things that continues to give me motivation to read and translate this LN.

In closing, I'm glad to be here to translate for you guys, though it's by one irresponsible person who tells me "DO IT" when asked if I should translate ONNY, that I'm here in the first place.

While on his way to kyushu to meet ootomo sourin and request an alliance in order to rescue mitsuhide from kobayakawa's encirclement, yoshiharu shipwrecks (according to kobayakawa's scheme) and his body drifts towards his (likely) ancestor's place, the princess knight sagara yoshiaki. Her name is not yoshiaki, it's yoshiharu. yes, the princess knight of the sagara clan is called sagara yoshiharu, while the girl on the right side which is described as a kyushu's version of inuchiyo (she wears a bear pelt, has a bear pet and uses to fight bears in the mountains) is called Tokuchiyo.
She is Yoshiharu's half sister and has the same bright and straightforward personality as Saru. Yoshiharu states that saru can't be her descendant since she is not planning to marry anybody, let alone leave a heir (because she is fed up with the internal political struggles of the Sagara clan). While Saru and tokuchiyo have their audience with Yoshiharu the preparations for the decisive battle against the shimazu clan are almost complete

that's more or less what happens.

The female yoshiharu (I'll call her yoshihi to avoid confusion) is confirmed to be yoshiharu' ancestor and she quickly falls for him. Although it was Kobayakawa who schemed yoshiharu's shipwreck, Gasparre had foreseen everything and given her a sacred weapon (a harpoon which can forcibly drive a boats to a predetermined location) in vol 10 or 11 when he was aboard murakami's pirate ship. Gasparre can directly see flashes of the future by using a unique stone shaped like a platonic solid and he's planning to take out yoshiharu by making him marry yoshihi and disappear due to the time paradox effect (when kanbei and frois visit him at ootomo sorin's kingdom later on he reveals to them that he cannot kill yoshiharu no matter what as that would generate many instabilities all over Japan and make his predictions indefinitely inaccurate, therefore he claims that if his "reason for existing" were erased, he would also disappear from this world and everything would revert go the original way as if yoshiharu had never been there.
By doing that Gasparre would then be able to become nobuna's war adviser and influence her into becoming a solid catholic monarch while making her conquer all of Japan. He would then make use of her charismatic character and Japan's bellic potential to ally with the European catholic countries and declare war to the Ottoman empire (new crusades, or catholic isis in short).

Back to Yoshiharu, he ends up helping Yoshihi in the upcoming war against the Shimazu clan and in spite of being able to see through their war tactics and strategy, the itou allies still get obliterated by the 10 times smaller 300 men army of shimazu yoshihiro (as the Itou lord and his two higher officials are killed almost simultaneously at the hands of Yoshihiro); Yoshihi's allied Sagara soldiers do their job well but gets stuck in the middle of the panicking Itou army and their fate appears to be sealed.
Yoshiharu decides to take responsibility and head by himself towards Yoshihiro to beg for Yoshihi and her 500 men's lives but Yoshihi forcibly tags along and, as they both try to cover for each other, in the end they both surrender along with the whole Sagara army.
Back to the castle the 4 Shimazu sisters discuss Yoshiharu and Yoshihi's fate: the youngest one (Iehisa), who had previously befriended yoshiharu at kyoto, tries to make yoshiharu her husband, the 2nd eldest (yoshihiro) wants to kill him no matter what, the eldest (and lord of the shimazu clan, yoshihisa) is kinda neutral but she's also the eagerest to kill all the prisoners; the crafty and flat chested second youngest sister (toshihisa) shares yoshihiro's opinion but she is aware that she cannot do that as Sagaru Yoshihi had previously told them that if she were to die before marring and producing a heir, all of her territories would automatically pass to the neighbouring Aso clan and furthermore, if yoshiharu were to be beheaded she would commit suicide afterwards.
Toshihisa initially suggests Yoshihi to turn her country into a Shimazu's feud by marring a Shimazu man, meeting her strong rejection but as she offers her to marry Yoshiharu instead she instantly accepts, making a complete u-turn on her previous stance about her legacy. Iehisa tries to oppose the decision but it's no use and the marriage is set for the following morning. Soon after that Yoshiharu collapses to the ground and appears to become transparent for an instant. when he wakes up in a secluded room he is informed by Goemon (who somehow sneaked into the room) about Gasparre's plan and he figures that he will disappear if he marries Yoshihi or even if they just kiss; after a few minutes Konoe Sakahisa, who was sent there in Kyushu as Oda's ambassador, barges into the room. Yoshiharu tells him to do something about the marriage but Sakihisa replies that the Shimazu sisters are not listening to him and that Yoshiharu's only way out of this marriage is to talk them out of it himself after seducing all of them (and he's got less than half a day to do that). As Yoshiharu objects that seducing 4 girls in one night is impossible, Sakihisa offer his support and suggest to share the pimping (sakihisa will approach the two eldest sisters while yoshiharu will seduce Iehisa and Toshihisa; both Yoshiharu and Goemon are skeptical about sakihisa's pimping skills but as he remove his heavy make up they are surprised to see very handsome man in front of them. I haven't read past this point (50% of the volume).

She was already told the details of yoshiharu's marriage issue from yoshihiro who beat up sakihisa as she thought he was a fake plotting something with yoshiharu (the shimazu clan has high respect for the kampaku, especially yoshihiro but sakihisa wasn't wearing his makeup and since yoshihiro didn't listen to his request to call off yoshiharu's marriage, the two ended up having a short sword fight resulting in "battle god" yoshihiro's complete win).
Seeing that his chances to cancel the marriage are completely gone, yoshiharu changes the topic and inquires into toshisa's relationship with iehisa. Eventually yoshiharu reveals to her that their misunderstaning will lead to iehisa attempting even more risky tactics and dying prematurely in the process and toshihisa doing seppuku to shoulder all responsibilities and protect her sisters from nobuna's rage.

Yoshihisa's room is full of portraits of evil people (there are also portraits of ukita naoie, matsunaga danjo and saitou dousan) that yoshihiro is trying to use as role models (she says that she's trying to become evil herself as her kind and good natured character isn't fit for a kyushu's lord).
Yoshihi learns of the time paradox issue and she gets a little upset since she believes that yoshiharu is only using that as an excuse to escape the marriage but she quickly changes her expression as soon as yoshiharu show her his right arm, now partially transparent.
Not wanting to let yoshiharu disappear, she states that after the issue with iehisa's past episode is settled, she will accept
everything the shimazu clan is going to impose on her, even marrying with a shimazu's man as long as yoshiharu's life is spared and their marriage called off.

This triggers more harem shenanigans with iehisa, toshihisa and even yoshihisa quarrelling over who gets to marry yoshiharu.
Unfortunately yoshihiro's position is still unshaken and yoshiharu's body, which had temporarily reverted to his original form, starts disappearing again.
meanwhile the Aso clan is moving his army into sagara territory and from there is planning to strike the shimazu clan now short of men as they are moving most of their army into itou's territory to occupy it. Conversely, the Ootomo clan is taking adavantage of the situation to gain the northern part of the itou clan's territory, previously conquered by the shimazu clan.
Yoshihi, abiding to the interests of the shimazu clan, moves with her 500 men (which had previously surrendered to the shimazu clan) to intercept the Aso army, commanded by the cunning general and assassin, as well as yoshihi's guardian and fatherly figure, Soui (I might have got the name wrong).
Yoshihi's small army is surrounded by the Aso army and it's only a matter of time before they get crushed. In order to rescue her, yoshiharu convince the shimazu sisters to send a small squadron against the aso army: his selfless actions "impress" (you may read that as "seduce") even yoshihiro as she thought that it would be in yoshiharu's interest to let yoshihi die as that would allow him to escape the marriage and keep living.
In addition to calling off his marriage, she agrees to be part of lead the small force: the strong but inexperienced tokuchiyo, who had previously joined yoshiharu, is not allowed to take part in that suicide mission as a small 200 men squadron with yoshihiro, iehisa and yoshiharu as its vanguards heads north to rescue yoshihi from the aso's 2000 men encirclement (unbeknownst to yoshiharu, tokuchiyo is also participating to the war but she's following a different strategy to slip through the encirclement and reach her half sister before Soui, as secretely instructed by toshihisa).
Despite the shimazu sisters great efforts (especially iehisa and yoshihiro), Soui gets to yoshihi first and, while the sagara princess readies herself to be sent to the afterlife, she reveals that in fact tokuchiyo should be the real lord of the sagara clan as she was born a few moments before her, but she concealed that fact and banished her from the palace to protect her from the betrayals and evil schemes occurring within the clan.
Tokuchiyo overhears that as she arrives just in time to save her from Soui's killing blow. Soui and Tokuchiyo engage in a brief fight but even tokuchiyo is no match for the seasoned Soui. As he is about to deliver the final blow to tokuchiyo and yoshihi, he instinctively cover both of them from a sudden volley of arquebus bullets shot by the aso soldiers.
yoshiharu finally reaches the two sisters while the battle is progressing in favour of the small shimazu force and the Aso soldiers are already retreating.
Soui is still alive and exchange a few words with yoshiharu, yoshihi and yoshihiro before retreating (with the prospect of a reconciliation between the shimazu and the aso clans). in the following shimazu war council (I don't remember whether it takes place at the shimazu castle in satsuma or if they hold it at the battle ground) yoshihi gives up his position as lord of the sagara clan to tokuchiyo and makes up her mind to follow yoshiharu as his "older sister" and second in command (and she officially changes her name to yoshihi); iehisa confesses to yoshiharu by giving him a kiss on the cheek; yoshihi cannot stand that and, completely forgetting about the time paradox thing, she also kisses him on the cheek to "overwrite" iehisa's kiss.
Everyone starts panicking assuming that yoshoharu will disappear as a consequence of the kiss, however nothing happens and tokuchiyo suggests that by giving up the sagara clan's lord position to her, she might have become yoshiharu's ancestor in yoshihi's place. Excited by the good news, yoshihi kisses yoshiharu again, this time on his lips mentioning that that was her first kiss. iehisa, toshihisa and yoshihiro don't like that one bit.
with the divergences between the sagara and the shimazu clan now settled, all that's left is to start the reconciliation talks with ootomo sorin and convince her to attack the mori army from the rear to ease the pressure on mitsuhide's men.
On ootomo kingdom's side things aren't going to go smoothlly since kanbei has temporarily become Ootomo's strategist and, sucked in by gasparre's speech and her own ambition, she is now keen on earning nobuna's praise by conquering all of kyushu using ootomo's army and gasparre's prediction tool despite the concrete possibility of fighting against yoshiharu, as reminded by frois next to her.
During this period (the events of vol 13 span in less than 3 days) kenshin hasn't made any move (firstly because she doesn't deem fair to attack the oda army now that his main key player who had previously almost driven her into a corner is missing and secondly because she received a letter from sakihisa begging her to wait before making her next move), takeda shingen has been
sieging narashino while nobuna is making some preparations with motoyasu for that battle. It is revealed that the letter takeda was given in vol 12 by houjo ujiyasu is from her banished father.

NOTE: I only skipped through the flashbacks and the pages of the interlude chapter concerning takeda, kenshin and moyoyasu's movements, so I might change those parts later on

you mean in the series or in kyushu? anyway in this volume the author trolled us hard.
when he mentioned in the first interlude through nobuna's thoughts that kenshin wasn't making any move despite having completely recovered after the last battle I kept deluding myself that she would pop up somewhere in kyushu to help yoshiharu at some point... but there's still hope for next volume since in the final interlude she wonders how yoshiharu is doing in kyushu and there's some foreshadowing in an exchange between yoshihi and yoshiharu as the latter makes a comment on kenshin and from yoshihi's reply we can tell that she is completely oblivious to what happened between him and kenshin in the previous volume.

And it's not just about kenshin, due to kyushu's isolation from the rest of japan, both yoshihi and the shimazu sisters seem to be oblivious to yoshiharu's relationship with kobayakawa and the other princess daimyos although iehisa is generally aware of the battles yoshiharu fought in vol 10,11 and 12. They also don't know about yoshiharu's fake marriage with imagawa yoshimoto (that's another character I was hoping to see in this volume instead of sakihisa..) and apparently yoshihi doesn't even know that yoshiharu has a few retainers of his own

kenshin has already become part of mc's harem (end of vol 12) and she and kobayakawa are already fighting the oda army mostly for that reason. the only big daimyo who is fighting the oda clan for serious reasons seems to be takeda shingen

ok a little update on the interlude chapter toward the end of vol 13:

We learn that Sakehisa had previously forged his body to fight alongside Kenshin to unify the Kantou region when he was younger as he wanted to restore the authority of the imperial court in that region. Sakehisa didn't ask Kenshin to halt her advance to aid nobuna but because it would somehow end up delaying the unification of Japan (it's a bit of a stretch but the main point of Sakihisa is that if Japan is not unified ASAP, the spread of namban culture will make that feat impossible in the future).
Kenshin informs Kanetsugu about Nobuna and Kobayakawa's common strategy to establish alliances all over Japan and amass all the available forces to fight a single big decisive battle for the dominion of Japan. (it's unclear if on a single or multiple fronts: according to kenshin, the stage of the final battle will be located in the middle of Japan, close to Azuchi castle and Kyoto).
Kenshin also sees through Nobuna's intention to hold out until then by trying to create time gaps between her and Takeda's offensives (probably in order to shift forces from one front to the other), therefore she decides to counter that move by following Takeda's slower pace.
Takeda is surrounding nagashino castle but she is not attacking the mikawa-owari forces stationed in the nearby plain. Her extra caution is due to her fear of losing her 4 generals in the battle. Meanwhile 3000 arquebuses have been brought by kazumasu to the front and a very long arquebus battle formation has been formed to avoid being attacked to the sides by takeda's cavalry; in addition to that, nobuna has ordered the construction of weird structures (I wrote weird because motoyasu wonders about their use in battle). We also learn that the real mastermind behind both the first and the second Anti-Oda encirclements is Takeda's exiled father,now hiding in Kyoto, who has been in contact with the young wandering shogun Ashikaga Yoshiaki (actually protected by the mori clan).
Takeda shingen is urged to attack (while it's still raining) by both his father, through a letter, (with the content being something like "hurry up and descend to Kyoto or Kenshin will take all the glory") and her generals who claim to be willing to die in battle for her sake, especially Baba who commits herself to fight at the foremost front line (that's one huge death flag there) and even changes part of her name as a testament of her determination.
After witnessing her generals determination Shingen finally makes up her mind to launch a big offensive.
Motoyasu is caught unprepared by Takeda's charge (she thinks that the arquebuses are going to be useless in the rain) but as the reverberations of the charge reach her ears, the long time missing brave Mikawa general Honda Masanobu (and Motoyasu's childhood friend) makes his appearance together with a young girl that looks like a spitting image of motoyasu. The girl, whose real name is Serata Jirou Saburou, claims to have come to swap with motoyasu to obtain japan as "the supreme ruler Tokugawa Ieyasu".

King Lear is not about the Battle of the Roses.

King Lear is a totally fictional story about an elderly king who plans to split his kingdom among his three daughters. Their portions of the kingdom will be based on how well the women prove that they love him more than anyone or anything else. The older 2 daughters lie and glowingly praise him. The youngest says she loves her husband more than her father as is proper for a wife and is disinherited. The rest of the play depicts Lear's treatment at the hands of his "loving" 2 daughters.

Ran follows a similar plot except the daughters are sons.

that would be interesting because it is kinda implied that the chosokabe clan is already allied with the mori-clan: the whaling ship that attacked the oda's ambassador fleet at the beginning of the volume and threw the sacred harpoon at yoshiharu's small boat (as he was heading alone towards the ship to establish a contact and ask its crew to stop the attack) belonged to the Chosokabe's clan. if the shimazu sisters joined forces with Chosokabe, there's a faint chance that we might see kobayakawa in the next volume

for shingen it's a good excuse to march toward kyoto as a lord engaging in a romantic relationship with a retainer is unfit to be the supreme ruler of Japan (add to that that at the end of vol 10 Nobuna is seen as some kind of saint or idol by japanese men and idols are only good when they stay pure). Kenshin, in addition to shingen's reasons, would never forgive such a selfish ambition as that would go completely against her beliefs (as the incarnation of buddha she threw away all her personal ambitions and desires to pursue absolute justice)

there are 2 episodes but don't get your hopes up cause there's nothing deep going on:

1- after Goemon reports to nobuna and her retainers in vol 11 that yoshiharu has joined the mori clan, they initially wonder if saru fell for the young mori lord (I think her name is terumoto) and the topic of the conversation eventually drifts toward saru's fetishes. Nagahide is mildly disappointed as she concludes that saru appears not to make any discriminations when it comes to women and complains that the best parts of a woman are her thighs anyway; as katsuie tells her that she's lucky not to have ever been assaulted by saru, she replied upset that yoshiharu is just restraining his urges out of respect towards her onee-san character but he must be surely fantasizing about doing this and that to her body; nobuna takes that as a desire to have an affair with yoshiharu and warns nagahide that even she won't be spared from being executed if she tries something with him. The tone of the discussion is half serious though as they all believe that saru has his own reasons.

2- Toward the end of the volume, while nobuna is considering who may be the best candidate to play yoshiharu's fake wife role for the time being, she quickly passes on nagahide as she might easily give in if assaulted by saru

- in a flashback at the beginning of vol 12 kenshin tells shingen that she is going to use all of her life force to destroy the oda army and kill Nobuna in the next decisive battle (due to her albino traits she cannot sustain long battles without proper rest, despite her superhuman strength). she says that she was revealed that through the bishamonten
- shingen pulls a touma on her and as a quarrel unfolds between them she ends up telling her to meet yoshiharu since he may be able to open her eyes and free her from the bishamonten
- following shingen's advice, kenshin conceals herself as a tourist and goes visit azuchi's castle during its inauguration day (her main objective however is to find the weak points of the castle as she hates sieging big fortifications)
- after a short patrol she finds saru and takes him hostage; saru agrees to show her around the place and tells kenshin to act as one of her imoutos (she kinda resembles one of yoshiharu's imoutos trained by Nene) to deceive all the ninjas that were checking the place
- the two of them have basically a date during that day and eventually kenshin starts to enjoy it. they even dance together before being ambushed by kanbei who had seen through kenshin's camouflage
- yoshiharu and saru flee the place together jumping on a water channel. they end up hiding aboard an unmanned small boat.
- As yoshiharu keeps trying to talk her into abandoning the bishamonten (he wants to save her since he knows from his future knowledge that kenshin will die on her way to kyoto without being able to accomplish her goal), kenshin prompts him to kiss her(she doesn't exactly say tha tbut that's what she implies). saru refuses as he is already engaged with nobuna
- saddened by the rejection, kenshin gulps down a big amount of the sauce found in a bottle on the boat, not knowing that she is allergic towards the main ingredients of that sauce.
- Saru performs cpr (well not exactly, he sucks away the sauce blocking her respiratory ways) on her as she is unable to breathe due to the strong allergic reaction and force her to puke all the ingested sauce
- at the end of the day kenshin leaves saying that she enjoyed her stay but yoshiharu was unable to free her from the bishamonten; yoshiharu replies that the will also participate in the next battle and drive her into a corner in order to free her.
- during the battle he effectively manages to corner her using a variant of the woodpecker strategy previously employed by shingen's strategist.
- following that the oda forces, instructed by kanbei, adopt a spanish/portuguese battle formation, the tertio, as a defensive measure.
- Kenshin, whose personality was being more and more taken over by the bishamonten, responds with the same counter she used against shingen to reverse the tide of the battle: a complex spiral formation that would grant a sure win at the coast of very heavy losses on both sides
- yoshiharu decides to gamble everything and charges alone towards kenshin (as a token of gratitude for showing her around in azuchi, she had promised him a minute of free roaming on the battlefield before attacking him).
- thanks to kanetsugu's order to let him pass, yoshiharu reaches the now completely possessed kenshin and finally frees her from the bishamonten with a kiss.

Despite claiming in the previous volumes that she would be also fighting nobuna over saru, that was retconned later on ( I assume the author wants to allocate more time to her seduction in a later volume) as shingen doesn't show any jealous reaction over his exposed relationship with nobuna and at the end of vol 12 she even says that she sees yoshiharu as a little brother

Also it wasn't defeated and it forced kenshin to play her trump card. had yoshiharu not decided to charge alone towards kenshin, echigo's army would have still won but only with huge human losses on both sides, it would have been a Pyrrhic victory.

so it is indeed pike and shoot. at first i mistook it as Qi Jiguangof Ming 's mandarin duck where shot and long weapon are integrated.

basically, when cavalry rush/charge, they were intercepted by pike/spear infantry. when Cavalry are blocked, formation where opened to reveal the tanegashima/arquebuss unit inside to barrage the trapped cavalry distracted by infantry.

after firing release, the infantry cover the tanegashima again to give them time for reload for second round.

so i assume, Chakravyuha were unleashed to frustate the Oda with their own defensive formation of The Chakravyuha. entice them to get enrage and attack their own formation directly because when the spinning chakravyuha corner them, they would lose geographical (terrain) advantage. well, indeed two defensive formation against each other was like immovable object and unstoppable force. a war of attrition.

and the author do take the solution from Mahabharata (or Eiji Yoshikawa's Uesugi Kenshin). a brave maharathi who is unafraid of death be sacrificed to penetrate the formation from the inside.
