Generally, it looks a little better than the first season (more Buriki-like), and jokes flow a lot better now that I am familiar with all the cast... plus those closed captions help so f*cking much to understand :D
EDIT: OP or ED release date is February 2nd... sorry, but I couldn't read fast enough which one, judging from the song playing it should be the ED though. Also next episode adult Maria Kate appears, and Sena's plan probably backfires :naughty:

Well crap. Season 1's been on my backlog; I had no idea it got a second season. Or that it was bloody starting now.
Guess I better bump season 1 to the top of the list...
Well...
1. It certainly does look better than Season 1.
2. Wouldn't comment much on the story. It's been a LONG time since I read that part of the novel. As far as I remember, it's pretty much the same, though
3. Lots of Kodaka x Rika (seemingly) in the OP. Too bad this fitting coupling just won't happen...
4. Niku = おっぱい禁止！
5. Both the OP and ED are nice. MUCH better than S1.
6. Next episode = Homoge-bu, will see how crazy Rika goes (Don't remember...), and of course, the first appearance of KyubeyKate.

Surprised to see Rika help Yozora with the bullying. Nice job by Sena's father to give her a scolding for it. Stella is definitely the best. Oh no Sena has become a hentai stalker!

This was too enjoyable. I was kind of mehh about S1 but they fixed up everything that I felt was wrong or lackluster for this season, awesome upgrade.
I wasn't a fan of either the op or ed for s1 but I love both the new ones. Especially the opening it's fantastic.
It's pure bliss for my eyes to be able to watch something so Buriki, it just looks so much better and they did a good job of animating the newly designed characters fluidly.
Sena was cute, Kobato was cute, all is well, this is exciting!

Hey something normally out of my element to watch for once, how refreshing. It's rare that I watch plot-less anime, but I remember the first season and it's the positive impression it had on me. Thankfully I remember the characters and everything from the first season particularly well too.
What would you call the female equivalent of a "bromance"? Whatever it is, that's certainly what I was seeing between Yozora and Rika when working on Sena's hair. Quite the monstrosity that turned out to be.
What kind of father spanks his teenage daughter when she misbehaves? :heh:
Sena's very attractive in many ways, but she is quite the creepo too. It's almost at a point that Kodaka may have to call the police on her eventually. :heh:
In terms of a first episode of a second season there's better ways they could have done it if you ask me, the re-introduction of the characters was limited to only the showing of their name when they first appeared in the episode. The showing of the characters' personalities was kind of dry too aside from Sena and maybe Kodaka.
But criticism aside, I'll certainly be watching this weekly as a good time waster. The severe downplay of romance and harem aspects in this show always gave me a certain appreciation for it, and I hope that persists in this season.

its not really more fanservice-y than the first series, sena's personality is the same as the first season, though there are a lot of things to consider abou that, about the childhood drama; just watch the next episode preview at the end of the episode.
This might sound weird but my favorite character is Maria... and i can't wait for the Kate episode. I've been waiting for one since season 1.

Well, it's actually not that usual for people to sleep with a hand between their knees when they twist onto their side. It's instinctive because it lessens the pressure on the back and is more comfortable. I immediately got that that was the "official" explanation, but also that it was intended to be taken the other way as well.

I was bit surprised how they focused on Sena in this episode, I mean it's like a sudden big jump of character development by telling what Sena doing in her room.:twitch:
As for fanservices well for an opening episode it's okay to have overwhelming fanservice but I hope they make it balance in next episodes. :eyebrow:

Anyway, this episode was a lot of fun. Sena is a definite sucker for Yozora and Rika's combined prank, and her father is still as naive as ever (though I applaud him for spanking her). Also, she's infinitely more creepy than last episode, with her whole ceiling dedicated to Yozora and (seemingly) masturbating with that wig.

Welp, this season just about managed to confirm my worst fears about the direction the story wants to go with Sena within a single episode. Watching an entire episode of my favourite character being bullied, then blamed for it, then suddenly revealing some over the top and needlessly negative attributes was definitely not a lot of fun, and my annoyance at seeing a perfectly great character slowly deteriorate before my eyes might just make me want to drop the show at this rate. Due to the presence of a certain voice actor, I'm honestly inclined to see this all the way through but this wouldn't be the first time I've given up on a show even with her in it. I'll give it a few more episodes. Hopefully it'll improve by then...

One of the worst OP's I've heard. The animation at the beginning of the OP was nice.
Didn't like either the OP and ending songs, whilst the animation is quite nice. Did better (as n more true to the source) characterisation this time around. One of the fault of the first season is at the beginning it was reluctant to accept itself as a comedy (hence no background 'effect' sound in earlier episodes), until ep 5 or so. This time around a bit 'overstated' but comedy flows more naturally.

Huh. Strange considering that I saw this as a more normal friendship then most of the bullying that Sena endures. Season 1 was pretty brutal at times. This came across more as three girlfriends getting together to do something a little crazy and silly like a ridiculous hairdo. The most gullible one is of course talked into doing it, and then the other two got a little carried away, but apologized afterwards.
I mean, when brushing her hair they were actually being nice to each other. Sena's comment about wanting to laugh it off together was revealing.
As for the negative traits, Sena has always been shown as that type of extreme person, did you forget the way she treats boys other then Kodoka?

Welcome to the world of light novel ----> anime adaptations. Sena is a great character and it's sad that her depth only goes so far in the first season. Mainly, I'd love to see the outcast aspects of her character (the rest of the cast as well, but we only see this done with Kodaka) deepened in the anime but like you said, this episode has me doubting they'll go anywhere meaningful with her.
I thought as much while I was watching, it's like they established some depth in S1 and now they're just going to run with it.

Then , head over to the LN thread and ask your concerns. There's very little LN readers can do to address these concerns in episodic threads, because of the spoiler policy.
What I can tell you though is that the general consensus of the LN readers is that the story get's better with every Volume. If you want, you could read the translations of the Post Volume 5 Light Novels (where Episode 1 is currently at) and judge for yourself.

I don't know, folks. I sense that the butler and father were not trolling. And I think Kodaka will need to do more than to just get behind that meat and pound it repeatedly as if he were Rocky Balboa himself. And if Kodaka were to become her boyfriend, how would Yozora take it? At that point, three thousand chimps in the back of their heads should have just taken a shit. Sena should know by now what must be done to get back at Yozora, and screwing like rabbits between herself and Kodaka I expect should be the first thing hopefully come by the start of the next episode.

Huh. Strange considering that I saw this as a more normal friendship then most of the bullying that Sena endures. Season 1 was pretty brutal at times. This came across more as three girlfriends getting together to do something a little crazy and silly like a ridiculous hairdo. The most gullible one is of course talked into doing it, and then the other two got a little carried away, but apologized afterwards.
I mean, when brushing her hair they were actually being nice to each other. Sena's comment about wanting to laugh it off together was revealing.
As for the negative traits, Sena has always been shown as that type of extreme person, did you forget the way she treats boys other then Kodoka?
To me it came across as two girlfriends getting together to pull a prank on somebody. The gullible one is not only blamed and punished for being gullible, but the apology she gets makes it even worse (Were they actually trying to be apologetic because as far as I can see they were just trying to make it worse). Sena's comment about wanting to laugh it off was revealing. If only the very thing it reveals about her wasn't thrown right back in her face...
As for the way she treats other boys, to be honest I actually did forget until you reminded me. It's always been informed and i can't even remember the last time they were mentioned. Is that bizarre group of followers even a part of her life any more? In any case, I'd say there's a difference between treating a group of masochistic adulators like they bizarrely want to be treated (an informed attribute that's linked to an aspect of her that she'd like to fix) and becoming a perverted stalker that masturbates whilst planning revenge (an attribute needlessly inserted in there so that it supposedly justifies whatever crap she's given).

Sena is the gullible girl who reacts extremely to everything that breaks her happiness. She runs away crying if she gets bullied or if her trust in other people was broken. This is something no one should do if you really want friends.

I recently got into the first Season and finished it and I was like "I wonder when the second season is going to come out?" and would you believe it? the day I thought that a new season was announced.

Just caught up with this series. Brilliant show.
First episode was hilarious, I loved the part with the condoms. Always nice to get a lot of Sena too, both for eyecandy and her just being awesome.
Strong start for the season, really hope they'll be able keep this up.

After watching the first episode, I'm reminded of how much I loved this series, as well as how much I couldn't stand Yozora. I don't think that will change. Wasn't all that happy with Kodaka telling Sena's father she's not being bullied, when she actually is (by Yozora) and then saying he'll protect her, when in the end he just turned the other way while it was happening.

I don't think she is a masochist. I had suspicions of it, but she got honestly angry when Yozora went full sadist with the suntan lotion during the beach episode in season 1, so that ruled ot out for me. Would out of left field in my mind if she becomes a maso-lesbian and ruin the vitriloic friendship she had with Yozora, who honestly, is not far off delusion-wise IMHO.

I've deliberately avoided reading the manga since I'm kind of late to the party with this series and after watching this first episode and all of the previous 13 over a feverish day and a half have come to thought:
No matter who Kodaka picks he'll suffer. If he picks Sena we may never see Yozora again or she'll make his life hell in other ways. If he picks Yozora then Sena will suffer and it appeared that her father thought their relationship was going inevitibly towards a coupling. Even the butler got that.
But I had another thought about Yozora:
We know a lot about Sena's family, where she lives, her father and family situation. We don't know anything about Yozora yet. Nothing. If Kodaka ends up with Sena things might go smoothly and he could mitigate some of her more prissy tendencies. But if he ends up with Yozora we have no idea. We don't know a whole lot. I hope we find out more.
Or am I just overanalyzing what's basically an ecchi humor series with the occasional serious moment?
