I really want Rintaro to give Saiou a whooping.
I'm kinda disappointed that Bangs Boy it's a girl (and not even a cute girl).
So, is the person who kept Saizou away actually the Principal? And now, it's look like Saizou wants to bring the "Asahinata way" to Nangokuren. For an evil leader, Saizou is kinda rash, an invasion now was dumb.
Or he just wanted to take revenge on Rintaro that badly? I'm assuming he'll display a super mode to counter gokushiki until the end of the volume.
Then finally all the girls will see how Rintarou is totally different when fighting a man?
It's freaking Nangokuren, where girls can duke out until turn an entire arena into dust. Even if someone oblitarete the whole place with a fart, they'll just shrug off.

I bet toward the end of the fight, a third party person suddenly appears and knocks out Saizou. Imagine Saizou get KOed in one hit which sends him flying out of the school.

Rin needs to talk with Rino, but since she's RICH and he have poor abilities to talking (and clothing), Rino ups the game quickly and all ends in a date. Hard.

- Rintaro's shenanigans to avoid date gimmicks are hilarious;
- Rino & Ren backstory. Usual "reach my sister's level" aside, I'm surprised that's actually Ren's fault that Rino is like that;
- So... Rintaro vs Rino now?
Too much dialogues, I can't understand a thing except the obvious, but I couldn't help to think about Rino as a bland character. Not as boring as Ayane, but I can't find her ice queen persona or motivation interesting (kinda obvious Rintaro will desfrost her eventually, though).

Strategy meeting. It didn't happen, though.
- New male student cameo;
- Ayane and cold long haired girl rivaling;
- Rintaro receives a new Goku-like uniform from his dad and Ren & Meru comes to give some encouragement;
- Apparently Rintaro's "faction" have all his supporters (Meru, Ren, Erin, Marokichi, Rurina and Ema/Blondie);
- Dragons vs Asahinata begins. First fight is Kyoka vs Muscle gal. Draw.
Now, this one was better than the previous chapter, despite the short fight. I was somewhat expecting Kyoka's lost/draw here.
Kyoka so much hotter than that muscle chick, yet just as strong without the muscles. :heh:

chapter 39 korean version came out.
I "read" images, and the chapter looks very good, the adversary of Rino seems to use a derivative style Ryuha Koei Sogetsu, and interestingly she won using an amazing technique ,,,,,,,,.
and the designs were very good.

Can someone give a brief summary of ch 40?
Cold long haired girl have a "poor girl worked hard to reach her place" backstory and have a ghostly speed. Rintaro tips Ayane to use the ki detection and she nails her oponent with a dragon punch like blow. And... I don't know, Ayane somewhat gives a stealth confession to Rintaro? It actually sounds more like admiration and she's even denser than him.
Anyway, just noticed Rintaro's dragon avatar is a white dragon (at least according the color page).

Holy cow... chapter 41 is so utterly stupid, that almost make me want to drop this series...

i'm going on the assumption that this is suppose to be the backlash/ fill the gap for not making the other three fights goofy in anyway. because, rintaro comes off as a clown to others even though he is probably the strongest of them all. kinda stupid way to do it but, then maybe this form is just as strong as his powered up form in it's own poorly written way. whatever happens i'm curious as to what the next chapter does for this as this was REALLY weak given how long it takes for the chapters to come out (this is the weakest one by far.)

Emo gokushiki is...surprisingly powerful, actually. Rintaro can use ice like attacks to barricade himself against Saizo and pull some iceberg-like shot (that Frozen reference). The only problem is he can't move while in that mode.
Perv duo fix his YGO prize card and Rin reverts to normal. Saizo calls him to take this seriously and FINALLY we have a good fight. Rintaro uses Kyouka's, Rino's and Ayane's signature moves to counter Saizo's infinity-darkness-bushin-of-the-hell, finishing him with a triple dragon blow!
Rintaro wins and Principal oficially names him ittenryu. Everyone cheers... until new kid arrives. Eel-larity ensues. End.
Well, emo mode having some use was unexpected. Nice chapter, but it was a total flip from how desperate Rintaro was in the previous one, to simply turn the table back into Saizo. Anyway, next arc will probably focus in the new guy.

Sadly it will end in the next issue. It really is sad to see it go. So volume 9 will be the last volume huh...
Now, I'm kinda sad. There was so much things to explore yet...
I don't know how to check the sales numbers on this, but it sounds like this may have not been selling so well. And while going by this method is realistically a horrible method... well, I haven't seen much in the way of English translations, which to me is always a sign of a manga not doing very well (yes I know this is a horribly inaccurate method to gauge the popularity of a manga and that it's the Japanese sales that actually matter).
The art style can be a factor too. You can tell many chapters get a somewhat sloppy drawing outside fighting scenes.
But, in general, the whole idea of a protagonist who became a martial artist to actively avoid fanservice and romance was what brought me to the series, it was a fun concept in general. I'll miss all the things the series could be, both as comedy and fighting manga.
I always thought the final arc would be Rintaro vs Saizo or Rintaro vs the three Dragons. I'm glad one of these was delivered.
It look like the author will start a new series right in november too.
The way the plot was going, ensured it would be a short series imo, but it could have been so much more.

what's hurt DR is it's monthly nature, the story itself revolved around a guy who is trying fanservice, so we are expecting some filler chapters, but that's just not work when it's come to monthly series, gag like this fit better in weekly.
Well, if we get a new series beginning in a month or two (I keep forgetting how the Monthly schedule works), then I'm definitely checking it out. Hopefully illustrations will be just as great.

Doubtful. The series' forte is mainly comedy and, aside teases here and there, romance is kinda out of focus.
I suppose the most we'll have is some tease with Ayane and done.

- The newbie is apparently the Principal's grandchild, Kentaro's disciple, cursed with fanservice block (which Rin considers a bliss), even more broken than Rintaro and he's supposedly there to take his place. In this order.

So... is this really the last chapter? If yes, what a waste of time. Saizo and his crew basically disappeared off screen. New guy is basically the Reverse Rintaro and can do everything he does, but better. This is basically a hook to another volume. I think we need more information, if not, I'm basically done with this series.

It says that this was the final chapter of "Dragon Rioting" and that volume 9 which is the final volume will be coming out on 9th January. Also the author is going to announce something in the next issue. A sequel or spin off?

It depends of the person, actually.
I like fanservice as much as the next guy, but Rin doing his martial arts stuff to actively avoid fanservice is what make this manga a nice change for the usual accidental perv cliche you can find in soooo many other harem/ecchi.

Well, I do admit it that was very interesting... but men... just loot at story... the manga was rushed to its end due it lack popularity...
Having read up to ch.29 (up to the point where Rintarou wants to become a dragon), I think the story so far has been very consistent and interesting. Good intro of the almost-all-girls school and its factions, big events in which Rintarou doesn't always win by default, despite his outworldly strength and antagonists who can, at the very least, move the characters' interest and let them advance by clearing the obstacles in their way.
I can see why it wouldn't be selling much though...die-hard ecchi fans would go for something more mainstream, and although this is partially a battle manga, it's not that engaging on the martial arts department. I've always considered it a fun read, at the very least.

- Spiky hair is there to help Rintaro to use 100% of 100% of his powers (YuYu Hakusho's reference), surpassing his gynophobia;
- Spiky hair goes tornado move, which rips the clothes of all the girls present. ALL of them. And throws Rin there to be mauled;
- Rintaro avoids successfully of all of them: the extras, the faction fodders... until crashes into the dragons + Ren and Meru. Uh...everything fine, I think?
- Rintaro trains with Ayane to increase his time hold handing a girl (Rin x Ayane endgame?)
- Four factions duking out. Rintaro flees.
The end.
I should probably wait for something rushed and stupid like that. If anything, it was nice to see Rin's faction becoming official.

Consensus? A 5/10 manga. A nice concept that wasn't fully explored, maybe because of the excessive parodies or rushed plot points. I can't shake the feeling the author was doing this series only for extra cash, if the art style constantly changing was a sign.
Anyway, good things were fine to good, bad things were boring to real bad.
It's probably my fortune. Everytime I enjoy an harem manga, it ends stupidly. Well, it was a nice ride.

Manga Rock have it completed for a while, now. I'd say it was wasted, stupidiest solution ever to Rintaro's disease:
You do cure a disease that kills you if you have a boner...having a boner.
But, since it was primarily a comedy, I'll shrug off. Such a wasted potential.
