As a twintail Shinja, I sped-read through it before when it came out at the bookstore (which was a pretty long time ago). It's basically GB comedy. Honestly, not my cup of tea at all. :heh: It's really for people with Both GB+Twintail fetishes and have a really crappy plot (I rather read IS with its 3-time repeated developments :heh:). Of course, I once said that plot quality and entertainment value are two separate matters, so to each his/her own :heh:

Seriously, Twirl is Aika's natural enemy.

This is one of the reasons I get hooked more than some series called Sword Art Online and Index series.
To me, Souji is actually underrated.

Twirl's never-ending Anti Aika Systems.
I was disappointed that other models has not made any appearance in anime.
Aika-I Got You, Aika-Stripper, Aika-Slimy Slimy, and much more.
I do not know if a giant robot Twirlking is also one of its models though, maybe I read somewhere along line it is called Anti Aika System Final.

I think Vol 9's cover has Mikoto on it in her Tail Gear. Remember, back in Vol 7 she was down because she wasn't any help to Erina in battle and Twoerle decided to help her out. Then in Vol 8, Mikoto and Twoerle were testing a Tail Gear. I'm throwing guesses. Hopefully someone post a few spoilers for Vol 7 and 8.

Thanks for the clarification. However Mikoto gaining a tail gear will still happen. I don't think she will stay useless for too long. She already had a small slump in Vol 7 being unable to help Erina in her battles.

Mikoto is that desperate to marry someone, especially Souji because of her age.

Seriously, Isuna is playing an eroge where a female character gets naked just because she bumped on the wall.
Souji's only favorite twintail character is unlockable, too bad for him.

There's someone who likes this series said there's no normal female characters in this series.
That person is not even jealous of Souji surrounded by females.
Especially Aika's older sister is the most bothersome, and Miharu is moved by Renha's "declaration of war" against Twirl and Erina.

Reading about this series is giving me a very bad headache. On one hand, gender bender just doesn't really sit well with me. OTOH, the premise just sounds over the top enough that it might actually work.

So before I gave up and dives in, could you guys tell me if it's good or not? And are there any one that the main character actually notices and likes instead of the usual dense harem protag?

I do not think this series is good for everyone though.
Just like you said, it also gives most people a very bad headache.
There are many nonsensical parts and moments that makes people pointless to take the series seriously.

The main character is dense, but then I'm not really sure though.
Somewhere around those parts, he is rather considerate sometimes.
But, still dense because Twintails is all he understand.
Souji, he claimed himself he is not protector of the defenseless females, he is protector of Twintails.
For him, it is easier for him to protect females with Twintail rather than the females themselves.

However, the reason I'm loving this series is the plot and characters are just too good for me.
Even though how absurd, ridiculous the series looks and feels.
Souji's motivation for Twintails, Twirl's motivation for Souji in monstrous ways, Aika's motivation for Souji with her unusual strength that always put to stop Twirl's evil plot.
The villains, their unmovable love for their own fetish truly gives me the entertainment that I never had.

Yes, Twirl's fell in love with Souji at first sight.
She is glad that she fell in a love with a man that who loves Twintails more than anyone.

Souji, of course he is too focused on Twintails because he has the strongest Twintail Attribute in his world.
He has to be that loving into Twintails as far as transform into one.
He is not interested in females body in particular.
He is very uncomfortable in his female body Solar, wanting to change back to male often.
As Tailred, he is rather used to that because he has to fight.
I think he does not want to hold boy to girl of responsibility just yet.

If there are any special feelings for females that Souji has, Twintail is always there.
I guess, like he said, to him Twintails is his bond.

Sorry for being not clear, this is how Souji thinks of other people relationships between him:
Twirl: It's destiny for him that his love for Twintails weren't wrong.
Aika: Childhood friend that observed her Twintails for a longest time.
Erina: Twintail comrade
Isuna: Brother-sister relationship.
Loel and Riruna: Brother-sister relationship.
Phoenix Guildy: Gay relationship.

Twirl is not really into yuri stuff.
She is just a lolicon like an old man who wants them for her collection and rubbing them.
Tailred is Twirl's favorite of course.

I'm not sure actually, by looking at Twirl's foiled plans, being jealous for pretending to be engaged to Erina, very cautious of sudden close relationship between Isuna.
Almost forgot to mention ever since she was a child, while crying, she told her older sister Renha not to do the Twintail in front of Souji.
Souji always looked at Aika's Twintail, she does not dislike it.
There is one scene where Aika got naked, she told Souji to don't look but she was not covering herself and seemingly smiling.
