Shinigami-sama to 4-nin no Kanojo Manga
Summary:

From MangaHelpers: Minaguchi Kaoru is nothing special. He's no good at sports or school, isn't in any clubs, and he's not popular. He has no friends and isn't even interested in any of the girls he knows. He's also teased due to the fact that he loves shoujo manga. Unlike the harem daydreams of his peers, he dreams of finding his true love. Unfortunately, a shinigami comes to kill him, simply because he's a "forever alone" sort of guy. When he gasps out his intention of embracing life with his final breaths, though, she takes it back! As long as he follows through on his intentions, he won't be killed. To convince the shinigami that his plans are genuine, he declares that he will confess to the girl he likes, the very next day. Expecting failure with confessing to random girls in his school, he sends out love letters to four different girls. To his surprise, they all agree to be his girlfriend. Now, this shoujo-manga-loving guy has ended up in a kind of harem story, quadruple-timing four girls! Will he be able to stay involved enough with society to avoid an early death?

And the Shinigami girl is trying her best breaking up at least one of the girls, hoping bad rumors would spread would lead to break up with the other three--and his death. :heh:

Yui explicitly stated in both chapters that she is willing to learn more about Kaoru while dating.

Having only a marginal interest in the opposite sex and learning more about them during a relationship is a common practice in real life. Contrary to what some other people and animanga suggest, it's not necessary to love a person before you date them. Some people do date others just because they're open minded enough to give it a try for the experience.

Lisa stated that this is the first time she's dating someone, so most likely she just wanted to give it a try as well. Kaoru may have just been the only guy who asked her.

I do agree that it's a little too convenient that the four girls managed to get the same guy without running into each other or hearing about it, but we'll have to see how long he can keep this up with that shinigami trolling him at every step.

i agree with shadow5YA, there are people who date without being in love, you don't even need to be open minded, it's pretty normal, of course there is necesary that you like a bit that person, if you just find someone in the street and ask to go out with you, you probably are gonna end with a weirdo.
that's what i don't think its just a fluke, i think our gayrou probably thougth that he was a forever alone who nobody could care of, but the true is that this four girls probably discover that gayrou want a pure love one way or another and they though that he was a pretty good enough partner to experiment love:)

So Chapter 3 is up and....

It seems like the Shinigami is trying pretty damn hard to get Kaoru to slip up. At this point, I'm suspecting that Lisa is a very repressed and depraved pervert, considering the fact that she doesn't mind getting a wet t-shirt in front of Kaoru. :heh:

And the school idol girl is, in the words of Kaoru, a "hardcore sadist". And I'm inclined to agree.

but from what shown so far from idol and class rep girl then I can safely bet that there is more to the other 2.

One hell of a luck the MC had. There had already lots of events that happen and its only been 3 chapters. This one is definitely a keeper.

The MC barely got out of that mess from the end of chapter 3. Mostly because the popular sadist senpai is a good liar and the class rep is (in my opinion) gullible or a closet pervert.

The cover looks like one of those horribad angsty dramatic VN/LN romance adaptations, so I skipped it for quite a while.

Then I read and I was like, hm.

Hmm.

I like this boy. He's my type -- er, rephrase: he's kind of like me, with the whole True Love 4Lyfe and a male shoujo manga reader's snobbish disdain for harems. He's also surprisingly funny despite being technically the bland loser MC archetype.

Now if only Mr. Accidentally Playboy would survive 5 "interesting" girls, at least two of which appear to be fully willing to take pleasure on his suffering.

Chapter 5 is up.

And so it turns out that it was a complete misunderstanding. The girl is a really hardcore gamer (also, the person that our MC played online with before the class rep came to his house) and she wanted to get changed into the 'uniform' for playing the game.

Apparently, she knows that the MC eats alone at a certain spot, but the chapter finished with her saying that it was supposed to be her special spot.

Ah, I just read the chapter. Kinda late in reading it. Didn't notice the update in mangaupdates.

I think the special spot meant its a good spot to get signal. If she's a real gamer then the school roof top is a good place to find WiFi signal.

I remember it on kaminomi when keima is finding signal in the school roof top and haqua is talking with him.

If not for WiFi signal then a place where no one will bother her while she is playing.

Did Rion actually ever say that she had spoken to the curst girl - let alone told her of the condition to avoid death? One of the girls may be curst but utterly unaware of it, in which case there is no reason to think that her behavior might be different.

Also, considering that Rion chose her target purposely from those he was quadruple timing, wouldn't this mean that she could not have chosen her target until after he had sent and received responses to his confession letters?

Finally, why is he acting as if this is a one-time situation? Even if he kisses the right girl, what is to prevent Rion from just cursing another, and then another - even upping the required conditions to prevent death each time? MC apologizes to the girls, they all break out with him.There is a flashback scene where kid MC meets young fake_sister/shinigami while she seems to be sad about something. Then out of nowhere a shadow envelops shinigami girl(she probably did something against rules to save MC )

Oddly this is supposed to be the last chapter yet there was no closure at all. In fact it seems to end in a cliff hanger like there is one more chapter to go or something. Maybe the artist was just told to end it and said to heck with it just use what I've given you.

She could not be punished because the girls decided to continue loving the MC, therefore even if her action disturbed the harem it wasn't destroyed, could you punish someone for breaking a vase who repair itself in a few hours?
Her superiors probably removed her power as punishment and condemned her to a lowly human life.
It could be that is really a bad thing for a Shinigami or her boss are assholes with a heart of gold.
Given as Shinigami can remain on Earth only with a victim under their watch that seems the most probable thing, or she put the curse on someone else but is something easy to do.
I hope in a extra chapter in the compiled last volume, with the MC some years later with one of the girls or at least the girls fighitng for him.

I actually started wondering about the ending with the whole "You forget the shinigami entirely."

I'm curious, the Shinigami was there when the MC got caught on his 4 timing, so did the girls somehow forget? Or did the memories get brushed over? Maybe they really did just continue to like him.

I also really hope for an extra chapter.
