Summary
In a hidden school surrounded by mountains, young ladies of good families are taught everything a high class lady needs to know. They are also completely cut off from the outside world, keeping them sheltered and innocent. However, a problem has come up recently-- more and more graduates are failing to cope with the modern world after graduation. To deal with this problem, they've decided to kidnap a male commoner student, and enroll him as a student. They hope that this will be a gentle way to introduce the girls to the outside world.
Kagurazaka Kimito is chosen for this dubious honor, mostly because he seems utterly average. However, the school leaders also seem to have concluded he's a homosexual with a muscle fetish. When Kimito hears that the alternative may be castration (to protect the girls' purity), he eagerly plays along with this misconception. Now he'll just have to survive the attention of many high class young ladies that are completely out of touch with the world!
Characters
Kagurazaka Kimito - The Commoner who was forced to be the Shomin sample and because they think that he has a homo with a muscle Fetish but has actually has a thigh Fetish.
Aika - Miss Tsun-pure. Who has a tendency to be super naive to the point of being idiotic. She wants to the study the way of the commoner so can become a raijuu.
Reiko - The perfect ojou-sama. The one of most popular girl in school and the person most influential in class.
Hakua - A middle school who has a look of a elementary student. A genius girl.
Karen - A black haired beauty. That wants revenge for lost at the MC.
Miyuki Kojou - The maid that was assign to the MC

Hakua is always dumbfounded by Ribbles but Aika always solved it like it was only natural. Maybe Hakua will think that Aika=Genius.
Never thought I'd see this series get made into a thread. Anyways...as of right now with the current translated manga chapters we're on volume 2 of the novels right now. Not at the halfway point but getting there.
On that note: Hakua's so adorable. A genius but bad at simple riddles...what a cute character.

Right now with the current raws we're on chapter 25 which means that right now volume 3 had started novel to manga wise. We manga version still has to catch up 4.5 volumes.

Well in terms of the manga and its raws we're now currently on volume 3 of the original source material aka the novels. So we're at least two or more volumes short before the manga raws reach up to volume 5 of the original novels where Eri (childhood friend) will be the main focus of.
In short: We're almost there manga wise, but it's going to take awhile...a long while.

From what I've read, Miyuki (Kimito's personal maid) is a real brocon and that her real brother looks abit like Kimito. I think her brother switched places with Kimito for awhile and then Miyuki and Kimito hit it off pretty nicely before he forgot about her.
Which coincidently around the same time Kimito met Aika from when they were kids. The flashback during chapter 11 is an example to this.

I think it could've gone either way why they had those death stares at him. I think since Eri with her bossy personality she followed him to his room and probably said something to trigger the said event. Or the homo muscle thing...either one of the two.
There's a colored illustration with Eri and Miyuki in a car or limo discussing something. My Japanese is weak, but I think it's them discussing Kimito and possibly driving Eri towards his location.

How did Eri mange to find kamito? i though he is trap in the hidden oujo school. did the maid miyuki kidnap her like what she did to kimito too?I haven't read it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that she continuously searched for him after his sudden disappearance, to the point that the location of the school was in danger of losing its secrecy. At that point those in charge of keeping the school secret would perhaps think it best to bring her in as a means of controlling the situation.

Don't know the secret behind Eri's behavior towards Kimito. But then again, bossy female childhood friends are the norm in most anime or harem genres etc.
I could tell you something regarding Miyuki based off some spoilers people posted and shared with me.
Note: This sums up how the series and its events led up to what they are now. So let's get started...

In volumes 5-6 it's revealed that Kimito and Miyuki had a childhood and "brother and sister" relationship when they were younger. Miyuki never got along with her real brother and she felt isolated because of her status and shy nature. When Kimito was a kid, Miyuki's brother (real one) ran into him and they decided to switch roles with one another which was simple since both of them shared facial similarities. During the switch Miyuki discovered Kimito's ruse, but regardless the two got along with each other like real siblings and she found someone she can rely on for the very first time.
She started to think of him as more than a brother and it began the series of stealing morning kisses from him:heh:. When time was up, Kimito had to leave and got into an incident that caused him to forget about the switch, which in turn meant he forgot about Miyuki completely. But before Kimito's accident, he met Aika around that time, and like Miyuki, forgot about her as well.
Years later. She became a maid despite her status for being a part of a real powerful family and asked for the school to use Kimito as the "commoner" sample so she can be with again. Her plan was approved, but later to discover that Kimito forgot about her completely and got along with other girls in the school she works in much to her fury and chagrin.
So the rest of the series up from volumes 1-6 were Miyuki trying to recover Kimito's lost memories, maintain her jealously and fury (hence the homosexual muscle fetish and castration method if he stained a maiden's purity), but she still kisses him as he sleeps making the kiss count from when they were kids up till now over in the 1000s.

god damn i must say i never expected that both of them or should i say 3 if u included Aika to have such a sad past. but i'm more surprised than Kimito To meet miyuki and her older brother when they were kids and even Aiko which surprisingly if u look at it all 3 of them are rich and powerful families (though i dont know about Aiko but im sure her family's rich since they could put her in such a high elite school) which makes me wonder is Kimito really a just so call "commoner".

Okay, this thread has my attention now. Since I've been binge reading the Chinese translations of LN series I've found interesting, I'm adding this one to my list.
Beats trying to go through the LN rec thread here and trying to figure out what the names of the stuff there are in Chinese.
So, in the interest of saving time, how far is this now in terms of the novel? Also, are there enough major differences between the two that I'd be better off just reading the novel from the start anyways?
Well there's currently 8 volumes of the novel series and right now the manga versions has 5 volumes. Right now in the translation of the manga we're in volume 2 right now. So in terms of series continuity and gap between the novels and manga medium, we're still 6 volumes behind schedule, but for current Japanese manga raws we're in volumes 3-4 of what the novels will depict.
So to keep this short: The novels are way ahead. 8 volumes currently with a 9th one soon to be released. I don't know when volume 9 will get released though. So I think in Chinese raws I'd say both Japan and the former are on the same page in what's currently released. Well I hope this helps.

More like self-destruction. Fast food sells cheap, which means they need cheaper ingredients or they can't make a profit, and can't pay costs.
Kimito said that those burgers are being sold at 120Y and would still make a loss at 1000Y. They also have way more counter staff than you would normally see working at McDonalds at any one time (usually two or three)
If the Commoner Land wasn't funded by the obscenely wealthy, it couldn't even exist, as the only customers are the Ojou-samas on the field trip, which means it will serve no purpose when said trip is over.
Just like Nagi Sanzenin's private amusement park which she can't even ride the rides due to minimum height restrictions.
Just goes to show you that whomever is making the decisions for that school have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Even if Kimito is their commoner sample, he is not really representative of the population as a whole, because not everyone will be as nice as him.

Aika is obviously already in love with Kimito in volume 1, and Reiko started to start acting weird towards him after he walks in on her naked in the bath and starts mishearing everything he says as something related to marriage.

Aika is finally getting popular. It's about damn time. The Street Fighter references were funny and cool to see.
Seems like her bitchy facade was destroyed, probably she wanted to monopolize Kimito after her transfer but he get along fine with the other girls and maybe even tries to avoid her, then she was totally alone.

I certainly do understand your point, but you do realize I'm just a guy reposting one of a few spoilers I read, possibly on an earlier page of this forum, or a different forum, right? I didn't decide how he lost his memory, I just read that he lost it due to being sick.

Italian here, when i was a kid and had 39-40 of fever sometimes i even studied.Usually i am lazy and all but when i get a fever for some reason i get restless and feel the need to do something.
Ahah, we are mirror images, the first day I had no will to move, sleep eat, go to the bathroom, is like I was too weak and "damaged", the second day was little better.
And that was just a few years ago, I was 24, if a child go through that it would not surprise me if they couldn't remember it, seems like japanese people are terrible even with normal colds after all.

In Japan and other south eastern Asian countries they eat a lot less and take in much less in certain vitamins and other things, such as iron, that can lead to decreased effectiveness of the immune system as well as anemia. On the other hand this also leads to a healthier life style in other aspects such as lower rate of heart disease and longer life spans. So a cold would probably be a much worse situation for a child in that culture.

One of the things I found about this series is just how episodic it is. After the first volume or two, you can basically skip to pretty much any volume (pre-6 anyways) and it's quite likely that you'd be able to pick up any particular volume to read and not get lost even if you skipped the preceding one...
Which is exactly what I did with V6-7. And damn... All I can say is, Head Maid's -dere/spoiled/imouto mode is seriously adorable. I mean seriously... Diabetic shock is likely to occur...
So yeah, I'm on the Head Maid bandwagon ship now...

She's not really a bitch she truly loves him Eri grew up being made fun of and bullied because her voice sounded like an anime character so by the time she met Kimito she was thinking of killing herself. As she was gonna do it Kimito said her voice was awesome and cute which snapped her out of her suicidal depression and they became extremely close, after a while she fell in love with him and was going to confess but right before someone teased Kimito about him being Eri's boyfriend which he denied something like "No way, I'll never go out with her yuk" which basically broke her heart. After that she noticed that Kimito was really popular with girls and was asked by another girl if he liked anyone as she was gonna confess and she, not wanting to lose the only reason for her happiness, said he was gay and a pervert. After that the rumors started and Kimito started to get shunned by everyone only having Eri to talk to and hang out with she was overjoyed. She just didn't know how to show affection to him so her bullying him instead just became the norm.
But then on the same note her being a bitch to him and tearing down his confidence made Kimito emotionally stunted. Now he sees all girls as not wanting anything to do with him and he himself thinks he's a loser who doesn't deserve anything. Which makes me about 70/30 in favor of not forgiving her. The teasing he gives to all the girls is his way showing his affections to the girls like a kindergartner pulling the pig tails of the girl he likes.

Thanks for the info. But I find it very selfish of her ruining his...social life just for the sake of her own happiness. And because of that he was stolen from him and put in a school full of ojou-samas and once again became popular for the girls.
I do hope for a harem ending for this.

For those wondering what's Eri's deal is, here's a quick summary of her backstory that was covered in Volume 5 and parts of Volume 6 in the light novel.

Kimito and Eri became very close friends after that. Almost daily, Kimito would invite Eri out to play and do something together. I'm not really sure if it is this case/novel, but the reason Kimito doesn't seem to mind it that much is because Eri fucked his mind so hard that Kimito got to the point where he believes no girl would ever want to get close to him. That and I don't think that he's really aware of all the shit she did. :frustrated:

Eventually, Kimito found Miyuki near the hidden staircase in their school. What he saw wasn't pretty. Miyuki was on the ground in pain while the bullies around her either pulled at her hair or pushed her around. Kimito was enraged at this scene. Using his formal training he got from the Kujyo family, Kimito pushed back the bullies. Seeing how seriously he was fighting them, the bullies begin to wonder if they messed with the wrong person. Eventually, Kimito manages to scare off the bullies by himself.
Miyuki, awestruck by Kimito, asks him why he protected her. Kimito replies that he just wanted to protect her. Even if he wasn't her real brother, even if she hated him, Kimito states that he would do anything to protect his little sister.
Miyuki then rushes towards Kimito's chest. All the pain and suffering she felt for years melts out into tears as she thanks Kimito while crying and calling him brother.
Miyuki started to think of Kimito as more than a brother and would sneak into his room to steal kisses every morning. Tragically Kimito suffered an accident that robbed him of his memories of everything before the accident including his passed with Miyuki. During that time he also had known Aika and forgot her as well.
Years later, Miyuki turned herself into a maid even though she had the status of "Oujou-sama" of an incredibly powerful family and it was her idea to use Kimito for the "Commoner" project, all to be with him again. Her plan being approved she discovered that Kimito didn't remember her and was spending time with other girls at the school, which causes her to treat Kimito the way she does.
Volumes 1-6 are about Miyuki trying to help Kimito recover his memories being furious and jealous the whole time(insisting that he maintain his gay story), even though being mad at him she can't help but still be deeply in love and consistintly sneaks into his room to kiss him awake having done so over 1000 times. The reason she turned into a maid was because Kimito off-handedly told Miyuki that maids are awesome and deserve respect.
About the "Samurai" Karen Jinryou: During Karen's volume(2 or 3 I think), she shows her true feelings toward Kimito. Karen has by far the most cute and adorable moments with Kimito which makes her fall in love with him, especially after he helped her overcome of a lot of problems. The climax of the volume being them dancing in wedding attire. As they hold each other close she realizes that her true feelings she has for him are love. These feelings manifest in the final moments of the dance and decides to kiss him, much to her surprise he also leans in to kiss her, just as their lips were about to meet the harem swoops in and ruins the moment but not before actually kissing him(though she denies it to them).
About Eri Hanae: Basically the summary up above but I'll add my knowledge to it. She'd become dependent on Kimito and while he was away she was slowly growing more and more unstable. She finds out that he was transferred to the "Privileged school" and it was full of nothing but girls making her jealous and furious because all of her plans were tumbling down. She started to act more like her old self not mean spirited or abusive but kind and normal, she bascially passes on being part of the harem club because of Karen and Miyuki.
In the latest volume Eri is allowed into their circle only because Kimito forgave her for everything she'd done, even a couple of the girls forgave her. Although among the girls their is a certain level of resentment and outright hostility(especially from Karen, Miyuki and surprisingly Hakua) because she made no effort to atone for what she'd done and only asked Kimito to forgive her, my favorite scene was with Miyuki who basically told her that she could've fooled Kimito into forgiving her but there was no happy ending with him waiting for her. After finding out that she'd wasted so much time with Kimito being a bitch she started to revert back to her old self and correct her behaviour becoming cute and kind with everyone.
About the Class Rep Reiko: She first met Kimito at school, first and foremost her realtionshio with Kimito was formal above everything else, but with time her transformation from proper relation to a close relation closer to a lover/wife was because she couldn't understand some of things Kimito was doing and confused her, thinking he'll just tell her(something that never happened) which resulted in her thinking about him a lot and growing more and more curious what these feelings were(read the "incident" chapter). It all culminated at her marriage interview when she Kimito straight up rescues her from something she didn't want. After that she realizes that she's in love with him and aggressively pursues(because that's the only way she knows how and aside from Kimito she's the 2nd densest one in the series) and fight for the object of her love. What cinched it for her was when she read that "smut novel" with her friends and she realized that Kimito was her "Anthony"(they rally fucked up by skipping her internal monologue during that scene).
Later one she declares something complicated to Kimito and he agrees not fully understanding what she was talking about which was an indirect confession. This happens during the summer festival and Reiko aska Kimito to pray at the shrine a for lovers wishing for good fortune and marriage. Reiko takes him their on purpose(Kimito is a dumbass for not noticing).While praying he starts to wonder if he's worthy for any of the girls in his club(ie; the trauma inflicted by Eri) but before he could come to that conclusion the harem shows up ruining his intimate moment and train of thought and prays for their destruction(find the Yandere group picture lol)
As of now the 3 front runners in Kimitos harem, that is the girls he feels strongest about although it's not impossible to assume that they're feeling of not wanting to hurt them. They're Karen, Aika and Miyuki(especially her)""""

Aika got a lot of attention during her most recent arc so I agree with the assessment the thing about Reiko is that she's so absurdly aggressive it's treated as almost like a joke and we've hardly seen that many tender and cute moments with her. Hakua's most recent arc set off a TON of flags and I mean a TON especially from Kimito who doesn't see her as a little girl but as a woman(especially after meeting her mom).

Reiko's mom just wants to fuck with him so he can hurry up and get a move on(she doesn' tknow about his trauma). The reason I added Hakua is because she wouldn't try so hard to be seen as a girl and spend so much time with him if she didn't have romantic feelings for her. Kimito is also beginning to develope some feelings, but then again the novels look like they're gearing up to focus on her again. Especially with the introduction of the moms.

The LN always do the same, grab a girl, focus the plot on her for 1 or 2 volumes and then pick up another girl. At least in the last 2 volumes the REAL plot is being shown focusing more on how Kimito's feelings works toward the girls and that's why there is 3 main girls (yeah this probably can change).

The LN always do the same, grab a girl, focus the plot on her for 1 or 2 volumes and then pick up another girl. At least in the last 2 volumes the REAL plot is being shown focusing more on how Kimito's feelings works toward the girls and that's why there is 3 main girls (yeah this probably can change).

Eventually, Kimito found Miyuki near the hidden staircase in their school. What he saw wasn't pretty. Miyuki was on the ground in pain while the bullies around her either pulled at her hair or pushed her around. Kimito was enraged at this scene. Using his formal training he got from the Kujyo family, Kimito pushed back the bullies. Seeing how seriously he was fighting them, the bullies begin to wonder if they messed with the wrong person. Eventually, Kimito manages to scare off the bullies by himself.
Miyuki, awestruck by Kimito, asks him why he protected her. Kimito replies that he just wanted to protect her. Even if he wasn't her real brother, even if she hated him, Kimito states that he would do anything to protect his little sister.
Miyuki then rushes towards Kimito's chest. All the pain and suffering she felt for years melts out into tears as she thanks Kimito while crying and calling him brother.
Miyuki started to think of Kimito as more than a brother and would sneak into his room to steal kisses every morning. Tragically Kimito suffered an accident that robbed him of his memories of everything before the accident including his passed with Miyuki. During that time he also had known Aika and forgot her as well.
Years later, Miyuki turned herself into a maid even though she had the status of "Oujou-sama" of an incredibly powerful family and it was her idea to use Kimito for the "Commoner" project, all to be with him again. Her plan being approved she discovered that Kimito didn't remember her and was spending time with other girls at the school, which causes her to treat Kimito the way she does.
Volumes 1-6 are about Miyuki trying to help Kimito recover his memories being furious and jealous the whole time(insisting that he maintain his gay story), even though being mad at him she can't help but still be deeply in love and consistintly sneaks into his room to kiss him awake having done so over 1000 times. The reason she turned into a maid was because Kimito off-handedly told Miyuki that maids are awesome and deserve respect.
About the "Samurai" Karen Jinryou: During Karen's volume(2 or 3 I think), she shows her true feelings toward Kimito. Karen has by far the most cute and adorable moments with Kimito which makes her fall in love with him, especially after he helped her overcome of a lot of problems. The climax of the volume being them dancing in wedding attire. As they hold each other close she realizes that her true feelings she has for him are love. These feelings manifest in the final moments of the dance and decides to kiss him, much to her surprise he also leans in to kiss her, just as their lips were about to meet the harem swoops in and ruins the moment but not before actually kissing him(though she denies it to them).
About Eri Hanae: Basically the summary up above but I'll add my knowledge to it. She'd become dependent on Kimito and while he was away she was slowly growing more and more unstable. She finds out that he was transferred to the "Privileged school" and it was full of nothing but girls making her jealous and furious because all of her plans were tumbling down. She started to act more like her old self not mean spirited or abusive but kind and normal, she bascially passes on being part of the harem club because of Karen and Miyuki.
In the latest volume Eri is allowed into their circle only because Kimito forgave her for everything she'd done, even a couple of the girls forgave her. Although among the girls their is a certain level of resentment and outright hostility(especially from Karen, Miyuki and surprisingly Hakua) because she made no effort to atone for what she'd done and only asked Kimito to forgive her, my favorite scene was with Miyuki who basically told her that she could've fooled Kimito into forgiving her but there was no happy ending with him waiting for her. After finding out that she'd wasted so much time with Kimito being a bitch she started to revert back to her old self and correct her behaviour becoming cute and kind with everyone.
About the Class Rep Reiko: She first met Kimito at school, first and foremost her realtionshio with Kimito was formal above everything else, but with time her transformation from proper relation to a close relation closer to a lover/wife was because she couldn't understand some of things Kimito was doing and confused her, thinking he'll just tell her(something that never happened) which resulted in her thinking about him a lot and growing more and more curious what these feelings were(read the "incident" chapter). It all culminated at her marriage interview when she Kimito straight up rescues her from something she didn't want. After that she realizes that she's in love with him and aggressively pursues(because that's the only way she knows how and aside from Kimito she's the 2nd densest one in the series) and fight for the object of her love. What cinched it for her was when she read that "smut novel" with her friends and she realized that Kimito was her "Anthony"(they rally fucked up by skipping her internal monologue during that scene).
Later one she declares something complicated to Kimito and he agrees not fully understanding what she was talking about which was an indirect confession. This happens during the summer festival and Reiko aska Kimito to pray at the shrine a for lovers wishing for good fortune and marriage. Reiko takes him their on purpose(Kimito is a dumbass for not noticing).While praying he starts to wonder if he's worthy for any of the girls in his club(ie; the trauma inflicted by Eri) but before he could come to that conclusion the harem shows up ruining his intimate moment and train of thought and prays for their destruction(find the Yandere group picture lol)
As of now the 3 front runners in Kimitos harem, that is the girls he feels strongest about although it's not impossible to assume that they're feeling of not wanting to hurt them. They're Karen, Aika and Miyuki(especially her)""""

It's nothing really interesting to be honest, just by looking at them you can come to a conclusion about the relationship between their children and them. Also I found their introduction boring, them getting to know Kimito was semi-interesting and they just followed the usual tropes of parents meeting MC. Hakua's and Reiko's mom were cool Karen's was "myeh" but all in all nothing groundbreaking the over arching story was what kept me reading not them.

There was a lot of development on her character and she basically went insane because of how bad she felt, also the girls around her were openly hostile for the longest time and she went through a lot in her arc and even though Kimito forgave her , it wasn't easy, she's still pretty much at the bottom of the pecking order among the girls, like they say on 4chan "Erifags have been on suicide watch the longest in history".

Can't remember. It was a bit after Eri arrived when she started treating Kimito bad again and the reveal when she's found out on what she did. There was almost 2 volumes for this arc spread out from when she arrived at the school to when they finally made up. Read the thread we've discussed the spoilers here in detail.

And nope, the 'cute crying face' might work on Kimito but not on the other girls nor me as reader.
Isn't like they forgave her out of friendship or something but because Kimito asked them to not shoo her away aka a they did it for him, not for her.
Also Miyuki pretty much can punish her if she tries anything 'funny, on Kimito.
