Chapter 2 of the manga is out on batoto.
It's flying through the story and skipping a lot of stuff but at least it's faithful to the parts it's used.
It was fun to read. AK scans is a truly great group picking up a lot of the LN based manga.

My problem with the scan is that you can still see like translated English dialog over Japanese ones.
Atleast you got it this early. Just what till the hype train hits and Mangatopia snatches it up like kids grabbing at your wallet. LilCumbSnatchers
The problem is that the manga doesn't do a good job getting the small details from the LN. We have read the LN and we talk about our speculation from the untranslated chapters or volumes so we have a good enough details. But when you look the manga it really lacks, like when Ainz accidentally activates his aura when meeting the guardians for the fist time. It should how this new role as master still new to him. Or Details about the guardians hierarchy, ex. when Shalltear ask to go out and investigate the outside of Nazarick Ainz said Sebastian was on it. I would have been nice at least in the manga to show that the guadians were surprise that Ainz game that order to Sebastian making appear or hint that Sebastian was as strong as them (may not be a big deal to us we read the LN but it would have been good for the new people how are new to this series).
For me I think the my reason for reading the manga is to just see the characters or a scene in their physical form. When we read the LN we just imagine the entire events in our minds. The manga in a way shows us how it would have looked.

It's always the same problem with mangas/animes adapted from LN.

Yeah sadly we can just hope that the anime does a better job than the manga.

Sebastian is as strong as the Floor Guardians and the Floor Guardians knows it. The surprise wasn't that they thought Seb was weak but that someone as strong as Seb was sent to do scout work.
WN was it just like 3 of em and Sebas was the one that helped the young knight.

Seems like he never used for now but should be a dragon, in Ainz words dragons were the most powerful creatures in Yggdrasil.

Hi,
I was wondering if I could help you guys out by being an English editor. That would mean finding grammatical errors and the like after translation. Currently I'm thinking of working my way from the prologue to the most recent chapter. I'm not sure where to begin or if you guys even need such an editor but it would be great if I could find out more here.
Many thanks!

I don't even think I would trust that quality if it happened.....
In the web novel, Momon is a lot more calculating and a lot less showy. There is a scene where he guts a goblin with a shortsword, cutting him from shoulder to stomach, breaking through muscle and bone as if it was butter using a shortsword.
In the Light Novel instead, he is a LOT more showy. In the exact same fight, he instead goes over towards the ogres backing the goblins (the ogres are not in the WN) and slices them in half in a single blow, cutting them like wheat while using a huge greatsword on each hand with an ease that would make Guts green with envy. In short, it's a lot more "generic shonen #87977978."
The manga so far... I can't tell if it is following the LN or the WN, but if I had to guess, I would say the LN.
wonder which machine he rushed through it with....

With the new world's gold? I seriously don't understand this question. Why would he need those YGGDRASIL coins now at all? He owns nazarick and he can run it with that worlds coins now.

For the same reason(s) he needed to pay the YGGDRASIL coins in the game I guess: "Just because"^^
EDIT: *Possibly a minor Spoiler, dont read... you were warned*
Next volume he will need a lot of money, which will be one of the reasons he starts using Carne village to produce scrolls and his "special" potions. I assume he figures that having a lot of gold (wheter he needs it or not) is always better than not having enough gold...

thanks for the answer earlier..
The point is that there are no more ingame functions, he is now in a real world. If he previously paid 20 gold for the system to clean the room or something like that now he would play 20 gold to an actual person to take an actual broom and sweep the room. I just took the most simple thing I could find. He is in a real world now so there are no more "ingame functions. That's just normal life in that world including casting mage and everything.

Heavy Spoiler for vol3
At the end of vol 3, Ainz is forced to kill Shalltear. The only reason he can ressurect her is that in YGGDRASIL he can let her "respawn"/resurect after paying a fine of 5 million gold (Don't remember the exact amount, only that it was ALOT).
I doubt that there is a random entity he can pay to survive a Floor Guardian.
Since it was already established that common goldcoins are worth 0,5 Yggdrasil-goldcoins (ignoring the added value for the "art"), does that mean he has to collect 2 common goldcoins (or even more) to get the equivalent value?
As in, Does he have to pay 20 (Yggdrasil)gold, or 40+ (common) gold?

But there is a question to this. Is the character itself revivable by paying gold if you know what I mean. IF it's in floor guardians description that they can be revived for money then once they became real as everything in did they should still retain that function but instead of spawning from thin air some kind of animation or reality is added to it? If you know what I mean. And if that is so does the nazarick also retain similar function which i said you would previously pay normal gold to do, can he now pay normal gold to use those functions?
For the example I said above is it possible to also just give xx normal gold coins and have the room instantly cleaned.
It was obvious he pays normal gold now instead of the coins but maybe functions that weren't ingame functions but specific functions of the tomb or character itself have all transfered.

your system has a flood in it
the cost is for resurrect a NPC but now all NPC are real so the system will not work or will be upgrade to a church like in old RPG game (to use the resurrect spell u need to paid my spell prise)
second
azin has a resurrection rad that can resurrect PC and since all NPC are real(PC) he can use it to resurrect them.

I think the reason for this I think to have Nazarick NPC distinct difference to where they are. I think that the author wanted to a separation and add limitations from the old world and apply them even if they were in a new world were they are in now. Like Nazarick is from a MMO and if you remove some basic limitations or system from it the theme is gone, leaving those limitations or system the author can play around real world limits and MMO ideals like the potion of heal. If you think about it in the real world medics/herbal(organic) expire over time but in MMO world not playing for a few years then returning for an expansion your potion is still there.
Also remember that Ainz has reviving wands and a lot of it from volume 1 that can revive the dead. Why can he use those to revive guardians we cant say, maybe the guardians need more power items or can only be revived inside Nazarick.
Their is also Ainz as a Necromancer job if you think about it his class is a necromancer, being a high level player now that he is in the real world he can revive anyone.
The current world also is speculated that the spells used are very similar to Yggdrasil. Ainz is speculating that the Gods from one kingdom are players like himself. Like they have a tier/level system for spells, when one of the characters asked a battle maid what level she can use she said that she can do 8 while that guy can only do 6.
From an old post(someone correct me if I'm wrong) one of the characters revived her 2 comrades and there were 2 requirements I forgot the first one but the second was exp. That person was no from Nazarick but why did she need exp.
By the end of it, the setting is fiction so what ever the author says this goes this goes, I goes.
I think it is wrong to seperate between "Yggdrasil" and "This World". Its more like both exist at the same time, being able to do different things in different ways. Just because it doesn't exist in Yggdrasil, doesn't mean it will never exist in "this world" and vice-versa. Ainz doesn't really know which features of Yggdrasil "survived" the shift into this world, but apparently he is able to still access the usual ingame menus, considering that his first actions were to try calling a GM and other players.
Or switch from his Divine-gear during the servershutdown to his current "low-tier" gear.
This is my speculation about why he doesnt use the wands and how resurrection works:
I don't remember where I read this (might be somewhere in v2c4) but the way resurrection works is like this:
A normal being dies sooner or later and unless the cause of death is caused by external forces (Like a sword to the heart), death comes when a being's "lifeforce" runs out. Some´races have more lifeforce (Dragons for example), some have less.
My guess about resurrection is that the spell checks out a being's "normal" lifeforce and if there is enough "fuel" available for the spell to work, it will use that to heal all the wounds and restore the being back to live.
You basically trade a "death right now" for a "death in the future, that happens a bit sooner then it would've normally happened".
IIRC, there was a situation where Ainz was unable to use resurrection because the target was "too old", implying that even if he resurrected her, her remaining lifeforce would've been too weak to sustain her for long (or even at all) after coming back to live.
This (theoretical) usage of lifeforce can be seen by the supposed stat-reduction you get as penality for being revived, considering that you just used up part of your soul to cheat death...
I think there was also a bit about the target wanting to come back to life (things left undone or the soul not having accepted death yet), which might also serve as an explanation why you can resurrect people who've been death for a long time.
Now, let's not forget WHAT Shalltear actually is: an UNDEAD vampire. Something that is already dead. If the resurrection wand worked on her... what exactly would you get? A Shalltear from back-when-she-wasn't-yet-a-vampire? A normal human?
Is a "true Vampire" even born at all?
I seriously doubt that Ainz could use a priest's spell (be it "Resurrection" or "Heal") to heal an undead creature of the night.
As for being a necromancer... even if he used Shalltear's corpse as rawmaterial to summon something... chances are that wouldn NOT be the Shalltear his past companions created.

It is likely that Guardians cannot be ressurected like normal players, otherwise in Yggdrasil, everybody would just use resurrection wands instead of paying the 5 mil gold.
Also, Ainz is actually unable to fully resurrect people, only raise them as undead. IIRC only those with a profession like "High Priest" and above can cast the ressurection spell.
This is my speculation about why he doesnt use the wands and how resurrection works:
I don't remember where I read this (might be somewhere in v2c4) but the way resurrection works is like this:

I think there was also a bit about the target wanting to come back to life (things left undone or the soul not having accepted death yet), which might also serve as an explanation why you can resurrect people who've been death for a long time.
That actually makes sense considering that although Ainz can heal wounds, dispel diseases, lift curses, remove poison, and resurrect people, he is unable to reverse aging unless he uses Wish Upon a Shooting Star which he has to give up his own exp for.
Some various things from the LN version. It could be different from the WN in some way.
Various things in Nazarick cost gold. Spawning certain monsters (POPS) and things like weather effects that harm players (Level 5 Frozen Hell). They don't have to constantly spawn stuff and can turn off the weather. The question about resources is brought up and talked about in volume 3/4 and more later. In volume 7 it's found out that Nazarick can use gold from the current world to spawn traps and POPS when they tested their defenses against the invading adventurers. So there isn't a worry about being unable to pay for stuff in Nazarick.
When people are resurrected they suffer a stat penalty. They can be resurrected at their current location, their guild base, and something else, but I don't remember exactly. I think it was like the last location they rested or maybe their starting point? I could be off with this but it's basically just a small detail. Anyway, the point is Ainz was scared of resurrecting people because he doesn't know where they'll be located when they revive. That's why when he tortures and accidently kills off people he doesn't revive them to continue the process.
Volume 6 he finds out that the leader of the Blue Rose adventurer team can revive people. He's told that if people are too weak they'll turn to ash if they're revived. The people from the world explain it as needing a certain amount of "life force". He theorizes that "life force" is actually just the stat penalty and cause they can't see their stats that's how they view it. An adamantium class adventurer will become weaker, but I don't remember the exact way they described. I could either be platinum or maybe bronze? They can train and recover their strength though it'll take a longtime. Volume 7 it's revealed that people can reject being revived if they don't want to live again
I don't remember if Ainz can't use a resurrection wand on NPC or not. I feel like it might have been explained, or maybe not. Even if he could though he wouldn't have used it in that situation to revive her. He needed to test the guild resurrection system and he wasn't even sure if she would respawn without being under mind-control still. He had the guardians ready to kill her if she was still being controlled so using a possible random spawn location like the rez wand is out of the question.
I was thinking that I would be nice if Ainz can use ghost, cuz his a necromancer using corps and making zombies and different kind of undead is nothing new in fantasy games. But wouldn't it be great if he can use like ghost to fight for him its still part of necromancy magic right. Like the ghost can be damage by physical and you can only harm it with magic.

He does use an undead that's all but immune to physical weapons (so you would need magic or enchanted weapons to damage it) in later Vols.

Well if the yggdrasil system still works and all ainz needs is gold, can't he just dispatch someone to find a gold mine, claim it, mine it, refine the gold, and make his own gold coin?
Also doesn't ainz have create magical item ability? I'm thinking of his monmon armor; can't he just producing them and selling them?
He can also start his own circus company

First of all, Ainz tries to keep a low profile since he tries to avoid being found by other players. I also doubt he will find a goldmine somewhere in the area. Considering that this is a borderland between 2 countries who're not quite at peace with each other, both countries will have searched the area pretty well. The only goldmines he could find would be in the possession of someone already. And conquering that goldmine would certainly cause some attention.
As for creating gold... true, thats possible, but thats kinda like abusing the system.... I'm not sure if Momon's armor is a permanent item since he doesn't use "Greater Itemdestruction" to remove it,its more like he "ends" the spell that summoned the armor.
Besides... it would be boring if he could just ctreate (fake?) gold out of thin air. Why didn't he do that in the game instead of going outside, risking his life to cover Nazarick's daily expenses?

by namorax on previous page: At the end of vol 3, Ainz is forced to kill Shalltear. The only reason he can ressurect her is that in YGGDRASIL he can let her "respawn"/resurect after paying a fine of 5 million gold (Don't remember the exact amount, only that it was ALOT).
I doubt that there is a random entity he can pay to survive a Floor Guardian.
So the system indeed works.
But does she remain loyal?

But does she remain loyal?
As far as I know from the spoilers, yes she remains loyal, but she forgets about everything. (I think its really far back in the forums, someone posted spoilers for the whole Vol 3)
I read some spoilers on Shalltear in pages 83-85 but...
the brainwasher is dead or not?

hmm.. i thought that being that he can use a certain higher level spell with strong subordinate he can better utilize it for such thing... too bad ainz only experiment with the spell that he already know and not trying to create a new spell (afterall, it's a real world, not yggdrasil anymore so there should be new rules where certain old limit no longer applies?)
but yeah, being low profile puts a lot of restriction in what one can do... then again, it is an rpg game setting story, not some civilization strategy setting one... should stop thinking too much lol
Yeah. it was a double K.O. with the brainwasher getting killed.
Thanks^^
btw, who is this brainwasher? why he have something like world-class item? I'm so curious >.<
Shalltear seems to be in shock for her "betrayal", in a pic posted somewhere in this thread there is the poor vampire drinking her sorrow away, she almost killed her most beloved boss, remember or not it will weigh on her.
Another thing about the brainwasher is, Ainz thinks the (if I remember it right) old woman who used it could not affect a being like Shalltear with a item of a lower grade than world class, from the spoilers the brainwasher could only remove the loyalty from Shalltear and nothing more, it seems like world class items effects are absolute then it could have been something inferior, or the brainwasher was not capable of using it at full power.
In a game a item like that seems useless, I think if it was really a WC it was capable of confusing/enslaving any NPC in Yggdrasil, but was useless against players. But in the new world its effect should be universal.

She probably got over it after the chair incident.

The reason why Ainz thought it was a World Class item was because Wish Upon a Shooting Star failed. It's a spell that can only be casted with a ring bought with real world money and grants a random effect (good, bad, and gag effects, although it's significantly more likely to get a good effect). The cost of the spell = exp. The more exp, the stronger the effect. (Not sure if Ainz became able to influence the effects once he came to the new world or if in Yggdrassil, the user can specify the affect he wanted and only had a chance of getting another effect). Wish Upon a Shooting Star is top tier magic that can only be overriden by World Class items.
Also, Sharutia killed the controller right before she lost control of herself. So it's possible that the opponent actually did have a legitimate World Class item and the only reason why Sharutia didn't get enslaved was because of her instincts telling her that the opponent was dangerous.
Wish upon a star failed because Shalltear was considered an enemy and it doesn't have any spell that can clear an enemy debuff IIRC. There's something like 200 spells and it was the one spell it doesn't have. The World class item part is because the item name 傾城傾国 ケイ・セケ・コウク and it's described as being more powerful than Shalltear and plus the item was suppose to be used to charm a boss monster but Shalltear ran into them by chance. Ainz thinks it's World class cause undead are suppose to be immune to charm effects and Shalltear is the apex of anti-caster/anti-debuff character who Ainz can't even debuff but she was charmed still.

Oh, okay. That makes sense, I just skimmed past that part a long time ago so I didn't remember that well. Thanks for the clarification.
Also, I have to say, the Drama CD was very cute. Especially about the part where Ainz decided that he needed to pay the Guardians and messaged Albedo to ask the guardians what they want as their "salary".
Extremely roughly summarized/paraphrased:
All: Well, serving Ainz is happiness so I don't really want anything else
Albedo: But since it's Ainz-sama's orders, we are obliged to think of his words.
Aura: Well, Albedo, why don't you make up something then Albedo?
Albedo: Okay, how about clothes or something?
Shalltear: Pellucino-sama has already given me a lot of clothes. I have dresses, nurse uniforms, maid outfits, bunny suits, sailor uniforms, leotards, swimsuits, bloomers, blazers....ah yes, there also some ears and a tail too.
Albedo: That's impressive, I only have this white dress. Although I do have several different kind of underwear.
[other guardians talk about clothes]
Cocytus: I don't wear clothes
Aura: That's because Cocytus is naked
[insert Cocytus being bullied]
Albedo: is there anything else that anybody wants?
Shalltear: What about some humans to toy around with and eat
Demiurge: That's a good idea. Indeed, some of my subordinates would be delighted to receive human flesh
Aura: I want Rururu!
Demiurge: What is Rururu?
Cocytus: Rejected
Aura: Aww, why?
Cocytus: That is the pet of the Lizard people under my management. I will not allow any unauthorized seizure of their property. You must beg Ainz-sama if you want the hydra.
Aura: Aww, but...
Mare: Sister, it's not okay to take away other people's things without permission.....
Aura: Fine then, at least give me Rururu's children.
[insert back and forth talk about stuff]
[Cocytus is only interested in weapons but already possessing the best weapons and armor. Ends with Cocytus deciding to just collect some weapons from the new world that couldn't be crafted in Yggdrasil]
Shalltear: I want a "Sleep with Ainz" ticket
*All guardians gulp*
Albedo: This is indeed a thing that many people will desire
[insert talk about discussing how such a thing would be priced]
Demiurge: Although you say "sleep with", what exactly does "sleeping with" entail? We all have a different understanding of this term
Shalltear: Of course, it's having my head patted until I fall asleep!
Albedo: No, only doing stuff that Aura and Mare still don't know about yet can be "sleeping with". Sleeping....sleeping with...that's really an really attractive phase.
Shalltear: If-if, that's something that's allowed then I...
Cocytus: No, Albedo's opinion, going from a common-sense point of view, is strange.

Shalltear is surprisingly innocent about such things.
Maybe i misread or maybe something's out of context but from i could gather ainz actually spent half a billion gold coins to ress shalltear, not 5 mill. But even if he DID spend only spend 5 mil...what's the point of being an overlord when you're so ridiculously rich?
He's throwing millions of gold coins to the dumpster like it's nothing. Screw trying to take over the world, screw trying to impress some farmers with hero antics, BUY THE FREAKING PLANET, CHRIST!

Bah. We live in a capitalistic society. Even if the setting's medieval i'm pretty sure the kingdom and the empire will bend the knee to whomever's got the most lewts. Our pro antagonst's got the looks(well, no, not really), the power, the authority AND the wealth to make it happen. A little conspiracy to bankrupt the kingdom here, a little loansharking to make the empire fall in debt there.
I know he can do it, we're talking Ainz freaking ooal gown.
The only downside is that it would've made for a less appealing novel if he bought the world. Oh well.

To use your own currency, you need your own country/nation (learned from Spice and Wolf). Currently, AOG is located inside of the Kingdom. So they have to either carve out a piece of the Kingdom and claim it as their own with military might, or...well, conquer the entire Kingdom with military might + political manipulation before they can use their own currency and have global approval of it.
Although they could perhaps melt the gold and forge it as a Kingdom coin? I donno. Melting and restamping billions of gold coins sounds like a bothersome task. Conquering a nation sounds more fun :D

From what I gathered through the earlier chapters, what's taken into consideration when the value of the coins were measured was the weight of gold rather than the coin itself. If Ainz really wanted to I'm sure he could just melt it into ingots of gold, rather than taking the time to turn them into kingdom currency.
The problem with that is that all he's trading is gold, dumping that much gold into the kingdom's economy would probably devaluing in gold and crash the kingdom's economy, forcing either the adoption of a new form of currency, or causing huge amounts of inflation.

in medieval times if the king needs cash and taxes are not enough they will borrow it. However if the lender insist on getting repaid, the lender will find himself and his entire family charge with treason/witchcraft and be executed. His fortune would then be confiscated by the King.
ie. Knight Templar and King of France.
c'mon guys. Momon's a smart guy. I'm pretty sure he can outsmart a few tax collectors and kings.
It's all about embezzlement.. and like i said -> tricking both nations and turning them bankrupt is not something beneath ainz.
If:
We took hesitation from Ainz mind, he would become like Weed, from Moonlight Sculptor. I doubt any nation would be safe from his greed, forever becoming his "bowls of rice" paying taxes, worked to the bone and scammed for all they worth.
Imagine Ainz selling his mass produced red potions for 100,000 gold each and whatnot.

I am not worried about tax collectors considering who is in charge of the vault.
Considering ainz wastes half a billion coins just to ress an NPC i can really imagine him selling his potions for 100 k coins, each.
So we're all in agreement? let's transform overlord into maoyuu yuusha. An epic story about a demon lord turned accountant. Economics for all!
btw don't read this:
1) in vol3 we get to see the golden princess interact with her father and her guardian who's a stiff.
2) it's described that shalltear sees x person/s puke blood before the brainwash takes effect completely
3) ainz actually makes albedo cry when he doesn't promise her he'll stay as nazareks ruler forever (he can't promise because he knows that one way or another he may die one day, but she doesn't understand). We really get to see how the NPCs think in vol 3. They see ainz as everything they have or ever will have. The thought of doing something on their own; being independent actually scares them. Demiurge is the only one to figure it out and comments that ainz doesn't actually need them and that, if he wanted to he could takes care of nazarek all on his own. He also morbidly laments what would happen if ainz dies or decides to leave one day. He wouldn't know what to do.
4)the reason ainz wants to fight shalltear alone is because he can't stand to see his comrades' "children" fight one another. And i say children because ainz figured out what happened to the NPCs when they became sentient. The NPC took traits from their creators that weren't part of their scripts like a child inherits certain traits from the parent.
Of course ainz's plan backfires. When he tries to resurrect shalltear he's not sure if her brainwash is cured and the other guardians, traumatized after almost losing ainz insist that they put shalltear and any other element that looks even remotely rebellious down so ainz wouldn't feel threatened.
That's also why they're so ready to kill sebastian when he's showing slight signs of weird behavior.

Personally, this is one of the most interesting things about Overlord for me - not the NPCs acting sentient, but the fact that they retained memories from the game, and that their personalities went beyond what they were programmed to do.
Plus it makes Ainz trying to act like an overlord that much more amusing. The guardians are clearly aware that their creators were eccentric and often didn't act "nobly".In volume 3, we have Shalltear recalling fondly about Pelucino and his H-games, and Simmering Teapot and her seiyuu career. She didn't really understand what these stuff actually were, but as a reader, I found it pretty funny.

That's also why they're so ready to kill sebastian when he's showing slight signs of weird behavior.
okay now it's more interesting...
can someone spoil me
if sebastian is planning on betraying in later volumes?

no Sebastian wasn't planning any betrayal. During one of his undercover jobs, he pick up a prostitute that was near death and was thrown out of a brothel. Not sure why but Epsilon Solution (shoggoth) thought this was a strange behavior and report this to other guardians. Who thought started to question Seb's loyalty. Aniz devise a test where he order Seb to kill the girl. Seb did as order and threw a punch that was caught by one of the floor guardian and determine that the punch was enough to kill the girl. Anzi deem that was no issue with Seb's loyalty and also allow the girl to stay.

Honestly, she's going along the lines of "I will follow Sebastian-sama wherever he takes me" type of thing even when she saw Ainz and Co.
Also, the hilarious thing was that one of the jobs that was suggested for her to fill was the overseer of the ranch that Demiurge had before Sebastian (or was it Ainz) stepped in and said that it was a terrible idea.

2. The prostitute girl

well there might be 1 more male but dunno if we can consider him living in there.

Vol 4 i think have Lizzard man's hero , Aura's day , Shalltear's sorrow , Demigure's ranch and drama CD
Vol 8 have
village girl and village boy adventure , daily life of Nazzarick maids ? Ainz finally get rape by Albedo ? Bromance's bath and the past of Ainz's guild .
IDK if it right or not.

One of the biggest problems I see in this thread is that many people can't seem to differentiate and mix up WN and LN spoilers, some of it due to people not stating if spoiler comes from reading WN or LN. Remember that LN changed a lot of stuff and the order of events.
IIRC the discussion many pages back was about the fate of adventurers in Vol. 7 invading Nazarick which was that they all died in LN.
Fishfeed gave a detailed summary of her different fate in WN (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=5349530#post5349530)
And later clarified her fate in LN here (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=5366860&highlight=voted#post5366860)

guess we need to like get the OP edited and put in bold that the WN and LN are on 2 different routes.
in the WN there be only the 1 attempt to scout inside for information by the worker parties sent by the Empire.
though the Empire has still sent more even after the failure. (Adventurer for the more legal work (support) and the Worker for the more shady stuff (no support))
anyway there was like 4 parties for the invasion, 3 went in and 1 to the log house.
IIRC in the Enri side story of her earning money for the goblins and ogres new equipment..... Beta also delivers a magic sword (from the invaders or just the new scouts camping out)
the Theocracy has had no interaction with Nazarick besides the Blue (im too lazy) faction trying to peer indirectly with magic and getting countered (light fingered demon stealing your shits)
Its kind of disappointing that the Sword of Darkness guys ended abruptly, they had a reasonable build up of characters but they didn't have a least a final moment in their story.

Huge blocks of text filled with spoilers for 7. I decided to write this because there's a large split between the webnovel and light novel volume 7. The light novel is going down the world domination path and from what I've read regarding spoilers for the webnovel it's a lot more grim too, maybe. This is to shed some light on the tone of the light novel and show a contrast between the two works. It's mostly for people who have read the webnovel version and want to see the difference and people who just want to know lengthy details about 7. I haven't read the webnovels yet and I'm not sure if I will or not so I can't give you exact detailed differences.
In LN7 Nazarick is described as having 5 structures all mausoleum「霊廟」. 4 large ones in each corner of a square and in the middle a "huge" one that's like something kings would use. Everything is perfectly taken care of and described as beautiful. The adventurers are not regular ones but "dropout" who don't work for the adventurer guild and instead take illegal missions. They are sent to Nazarick because Ainz meets has oldest, strongest, and most famous living wizard the world knows from Baharuth Empire「バハルス帝国」 acting as Momon. Ainz reveals himself and the wizard instantly drops to his knees and calls him God begging to be taken as a student. Just as planned Ainz demands a living sacrifice which is his counrty. The old man views the current emperor as a grandson and really likes him but would give up anything to become even more powerful cause he lives for knowledge and always wanted somebody to guide him. The Emperor originally wanted information about the masked guy so he "finds" the masked guy walking into the previously unknown graveyard. It's to tricks the king into sending people so Ainz has a reason to go invade Baharuth Empire. Momon joins the "dropout" adventurers in Baharuth and heads towards Nazarick as a guard for their camp which is outside the mysterious graveyard. He does so to gauge and probe them. He asks them at the start why they're doing something so dangerous and they all say money and he instantly decides their fate is completely sealed.
The 4 groups are an old guy team, dwarf team, Sillian Theocracy female elf slave team owned by a gifted but nuts swordsmen who treats them like ****, and lastly the team with most of the art from 7. Momon guards the camp and they investigate the 4 smaller mausoleum and find lots of treasure and no guards. They agree to split having the old guy team bring the treasure to the camp while the other three go into the main mausoleum(entrance). Dwarf team get teleported in a teleport trap and the team captain and a rogue are eaten by cockroaches. The other two are sent to that gray octopus thing which is the head torturer of Nazarick and is also female! She thinks Ainz has fallen for her and is SUPER flirtatious. Old guy team go to get the treasure and the 6 maids show up to watch them battle 7 or so skeletons to gauge strength and see if they can escape. The hamster fights the gifted swordsmen and after killing him watches the elf slave girl kick and defile his body and then they give up on life. He decides he'll wait for Ainz order and goes back to training with the lizard heroes
Ainz teleports the main adventurer team to the coliseum level 6 which looks like outside with stars and a huge forest using a trap on level 1. He enters like the God of Death with Albedo at his side and then plans to plays with them a bit as a swordsmen to give them some "peace". He talks with them before it starts and the leader of the team lies pretending he was granted permission by one of the 41 trying to save their hides. Entirely due to Ainz getting baited into saying too much and wanting to believe it. He snaps with the most rage we've seen yet followed by instantly cooling and it's time to play swordsmen skeleton to gauge them. The blond little girl has a skill from birth that lets her see the aura or what we know as mana people have. After Ainz stops playing he takes off a ring that blocks people from reading his information and the little girl gets so scared she all vomits all over herself twice with the possibly of urination and/or defection too. Ainz tries to make them betray each other at their final moment by saying he'll allow one a chance to escape and since they aren't scummy like the other teams they all want the little girl to make it. Ainz sees this and is kind of pissed while being moved enough to give her "mercy" by having Shalltear kill her after making her fall into absolute despair. Shalltear lets her run away until she finds out she's still underground and after being mentally cornered finally it's time to give her "mercy". In her final moment she thinks of her sisters she dearly loved and faints from the mental shock of what I'll describe a bit later and Shalltear gives her death while she's out. Ainz captures the 3 other adults from the team using magic and plans some really, really, nasty stuff for them. The big guy is like a paladin/priest who has a deep faith in his God and thinks his God affords him the power to heal people. Ainz decides to see if he brainwashes him into believing a different God will he still be allowed to heal? He wants to know if he'll have to possibly fight this God if it's an actual existence and test some other stuff. So basically all of them are dead or even worse in the LN version.
Ainz sends Aura and Mare to the palace of Baharuth Empire on a Mare's dragon and when they arrive the people at Baharuth palace decide the capital city is finished. They land in the garden and all the elite guards go and meet them to fight. They announce who they are, why they're offended, and demand to talk with the emperor or starting from the palace then capital followed by all other cities the entire country is going to die. About 5 seconds after they announce themselves Mare instantly kills everyone of the palace guards who came out. The Emperor sees they really are going to raze the capital and destroy the country if he doesn't come and decides to call out and talk. That was towards the end of volume 7 and volume 8 never touched on what they talked about.
Arche Eeb Rile Furt is the English name of the blond girl who is the main focus of 7. It heavily talks about her life and her family situation to really increase the tension so I'll talk about it too. She's a fallen noble whose family was destroyed by the Emperor of the Baharuth because he wanted funds and to consolidate power for political reasons. The father and mother are out of their minds but the father is especially bad. The father can't give up his life of nobility and thinks if he pretends to be wealthy the Emperor will recognize his 150 or year so old family and they'll get their old glory. He takes out loans and buys lots of really expensive stuff to try and maintain the facade of nobility putting the family into a debt of 300 gold coins. 300 gold coins is pretty much an impossible amount of money to pay back for adventurers unless they're Adamantite. It isn't just that the father owes 300 golds but over the years he has continually been taking out loans while paying back chunks. As you can guess the father isn't really paying them back but the daughter is. Arche is who is forced to work as an adventurer dropout to desperately earn money. Arche was the student of the strongest wizard and she was his most promising student who shares his special ability to see the aura of people. She decided to dropout so she could become a "dropout" and earn money causing even him to feel it was a waste. She's a level 3 mage but over the years she has always had the same equipment because she spends all the money she earns paying back the debt. It talks about how important it is for adventurers to pay for equipment to increase their survivability and have things like potions or whatever to save their lives and make them stronger. The team she has noticed she hasn't upgraded her stuff in years but never pressured or questioned her about it out of kindness. They find out her debt and whereas another team would instantly kick her out they decide to not only keep her, but are planning to help her even. They understand how fishy and dangerous this job is and still they decide to take. It seems like they wouldn't have even taken it if they weren't going to use the 500 gold coins they earn from it to help Arche. Arche decides she has given more than enough to her parents for the debt of raising her to like 8 years old before she started working and paying their debt back. She has two really innocent and adorable twin little sisters who she really dotes and they especially love her. She makes a promise with them that when she gets back from this job she's going to take them and go live together while being together all the time.
The book ends with the loan shark talking with the father and father insulting his daughter because she asks him to stop taking out money and pretending to be a noble. The loan shark thinks the father is total trash, but business is business and he's actually meeting him to loan him another 100 gold coins. He thinks it's about time he stops giving him more money and scans the inside of the place saying if he takes everything it should be about enough... just enough almost but then he glances at the two little sisters and says "including them it'll be enough to pay back the debt". it goes to the little girls talking about how they love their onee-sama so much and they wonder when she'll be back home but agree they have to be good girls and wait patiently. They talk about how they want her to read them more books, play with them, and then argue because they each want to hog onee-sama but then agree to share her and laugh. They then talk about how excited they are that when onee-sama comes back they'll be living together all the time and what they'll do with her while giggling and acting like angels. The very last lines say the two little girls are smiling and laughing while seeing a very happy dream as in imagining the future with their sister.
Volume 8 spoilers
Starts with Enri and her life in that village with the 19 goblins she summed and details about the village.
The summed goblins are actually intelligent and not only can read the mood they're trying to help the alchemist Nfirea hook up with Enri to make her happy
She saves a wild goblin and we find out they can also talk! They just decided not to do it in front of humans normally. He comes to the village with them
Lupusregina Delta shows up and talks like a genki girl and we find out she visits them often and is quite friendly.
They they find out the western and eastern bosses of the forest equal to the hamster teamed up have hordes of monsters planning something and started killing the goblins
They summoned goblins try and investigate stuff things ending up finding human eating ogres along with the rest of the wild goblins who lived with that one they saved earlier
Enri becomes the boss of the human eating ogres, wild goblins, and also becomes the head of the village. [they aren't evil just hungry and view humans as food.if they can fill their stomach with something else they won't eat them]
She protests all of this because in her mind she's just a little village girl but the summoned goblins convince her of everything
Monsters attack the village including the eastern forest king. Enri and Nfirea get cornered by a troll and when Nfirea is about to die Lupusregina Delta saves him
Ainz invites Nfirea, Enri, and her little sister to Nazarick. Ainz, like the godfather, wearing the mask tells him: Your village is pretty dangerous. I heard you recently nearly died and lost everything? If you tell people about those potions I'm having you make, imagine who else might show up? So, keeping it a secret is best if you don't want anything to happen to village"
Nfirea agrees it's best if the potions are kept a secret just between them, none the wiser.
The second half pretty mostly gives you information about Nazarick and about how it's run daily with some humor twisted in nicely. It's setup to give the feeling that it's like a corporation and bouncing between different employees while also showing some things people would be curious about regarding what happens or how they operate.
These are just some of the amusing things that happens.
Albedo summons a really badass level 100 mount that's a two horned war horse and brags about it.
Shalltear and Aura are impressed by it and when Albedo tries to ride it and it seems like it's going to die just from her mounting it cause it's so weak
Everyone is surprised and Albedo asks for help. Shalltear wonders if she's just too fat? Aura can't talk with animals while Shalltear thought she could
Shalltear brings out an encyclopedia and we find out the unicorns only let virgins ride them. The polar opposite is the two horned horse won't let a virgin them.
We find out they're all virgins except maybe Shalltear cause she plays with girls.
They talk about having Ainz help her so he can ride her mount
This is how the scene where Albedo mounts Ainz goes.
Ainz is at the throne talking with Mare who has wet eyes and is rubbing the ring he was given by Ainz which is on his left hand ring finger while looking at him longingly. Ainz feels something is weird and asks Mare why he's staring at him so intently? Mare says it's because he's so cool. He feels flattered and goes to rub his head and lovingly talking about the NPC of Nazarick making those present at the throne really happy. Albedo is present at the throne and after Ainz is finished with his sweet words he tries to leave. Albedo looks kind of strange and he calls out to her and suddenly he feels danger. Instantly he's knocked to the ground and is looking at the ceiling while Albedo is on top of him. She's talking about how he has to take off his clothes or she'll destroy them. She says how there's no need to be shy and she can't take it any longer. He orders the people present to help him and then sentences her to 3 days of being in confinement.
Volume 9 is going to be a battle between the Re-Estize Kingdom and the Baharuth Empire which Nazarick gets involved according to the last 2 pages of volume 8.
Sorry if I've got any glaring spelling or grammar errors. I can't muster the focus to really proof it well now. I'll check again later and fix any stuff I can notice.
4 large ones in each corner of a square and in the middle a "huge" one that's like something kings would use and everything is perfectly taken care of and described as beautiful. Ainz reveals himself and the wizard instantly drops to his knees and calls him God begging to be taken as a student and just as planned Ainz demands a living sacrifice which is his counrty. The old man views the current emperor as a grandson and really likes him but would give up anything to become even more powerful cause he lives for knowledge and always wanted somebody to guide him. The Emperor originally wanted information about the masked guy so he "finds" the masked guy walking into the previously unknown graveyard and tricks the king into sending people so Ainz has a reason to go invade Baharuth Empire. Momon joins the "dropout" adventurers in Baharuth and heads towards Nazarick as a guard for their camp outside the mysterious graveyard while probing why they're going there too.
Ainz teleports the main adventurer team to the coliseum level 6 which looks like outside with stars and a huge forest with a trap on level 1. He enters like the God of Death and then plans to plays with them a bit as a swordsmen to give them some "peace". That is just to hilarious.
Despite all being evil monsters they can be surprisingly innocent at times.

The team she has noticed she hasn't upgraded her stuff in years but never pressured or questioned her about it out of kindness. They find out her debt and whereas another team would instantly kick her out they decide to not only keep her, but are planning to help her even. They understand how fishy and dangerous this job is they decide to take and it seems like they wouldn't have even taken it if they weren't going to use the 500 gold coins they earn from it to help Arche. Arche decides she has given more than enough to her parents for the debt of raising her to like 8 years old before she become the dropout adventurer and has been earning money for them. She has two really innocent and adorable twin little sisters who she really dotes and they especially love her. She makes a promise with them that when she gets back from this job she's going to take them and go live together and be together all the time.
They talk about how they want her to read them more books, play with them, and then argue because they each want to hog onee-sama but then argree to share her and laugh. They then talk about how excited they are that when onee-sama comes back they'll be living together all the time and what they'll do with her while giggling and acting like angels. The very last lines say the two little girls are smiling and laughing while seeing a very happy dream as in imagining the future with their sister.
Does the author want us to hate Ainz and co or something? Because I'm starting to root for their opponents to wreck their shit.
So in the WN the older sister survived and teaches Ainz to dance and she is rewarded with her little sisters. How teaches Ainz to dance or is the event removed from the LN

it's obviously removed since she died in the LN.
and that event is in the 2nd part.... the LN would be the first part with major route alteration

That's a waste it would be nice if Ainz add more human resources(except for human meat loaf) to his forces.

4 large ones in each corner of a square and in the middle a "huge" one that's like something kings would use and everything is perfectly taken care of and described as beautiful.
Did the Lizard squad got recruited by Ainz personally or did they begged him or something? Also, what was their reaction when they met Ainz?

in re:monster Rou had the elves rape and lots of readers are work over it. Killing them would have been better in the opinion of the majority.
here we have the reverse. the girl is kill instead of being turn into Shaltear's sex toy as the WN. And here we have a lot of readers here mad at the author for killing the girl instead of leaving her as Shaltear''s sex toy.

True so true lol. I read Re:monster to and go to the forums and so many people really off about the rape and the so called cannibalization even if the main protagonist is a monster that should eat humans.

correct me if I'm wrong but I think the reason for that is cause unlike re:monster, Overlord went through the trouble of establishing the girl's past, motives and etc whereas we don't know anything about the elves in re:monster so we would of course care more about the character who we know more about :heh:

The problem is that, even after becoming Shalltear's sex toy, she and her sisters would reunite and get a happy ending. => WN version
In the LN version, the girl dies feeling absolute despair, and her little sisters are sold to the shark loan while thinking that their older sister will some day come to get/save them. They'll probably be used as sex toys by old, fat and ugly men. That's just too sad.
If it were only the the girl's fate, I don't think there would be this much uproar. :upset:
About the re:monster thing: I think it's probably because the one doing the disturbing things is a girl. If Shalltear were a man, there would be people bashing the novel all over the place.
so the girl who teach Ainz how to dance gone. maybe In LN version, Lord of Terror has chance to teach Ainz how to dance. haha

which most likely won't happen either cause they are pretty much on world domination (war with everyone).

Yeah sadly it would have been nice to have more loyal(not brainwashed) humans working for Ainz like Enri and Enfria(they are both loyal because they were saved by Ainz) If she had survived she would have been a source of information about the noble society like she can be mingle with the nobles and get information from them.
And about the Lord of Terror if that gets animated I want it to be like mahouka koukou no rettousei anime the dance ball that intense.:p

Actually if im not wrong Enri and her sister had their memories of Ainz's lich form wiped.. so i dont think they know he is undead
Ainz is just trying to do his best to survive and keep his Nazarick intact. A lot of other popular LN/WN have the protagonist talk about "doing anything to make their goals happen!" then it's followed by Gary Stu save everyone including the ants they might step on in the grass happy ending. There's lots of parts that show Ainz weakness and how he isn't Gary Stu able to do everything and save everyone while keeping Nazarick together.
Volume 7 all of the more important people in Nazarick are summed before Ainz. Meaning dragons, the elite undead army, elite troops of each guardian, and similar stuff. Ainz got cornered when discussing what Nazarick should do next when talking with the guardians. He pretends like he has a plan and then acts like he's too above it to talk about it himself. He decides to summon everyone important so Demiurge/Albedo are forced to explain what they plan next while thinking it's what Ainz agrees to. It turns out the plan is world domination and there's no going back now.
There's lots of other parts like how he practices poses in front of a mirror so he looks more regalia. He has a notepad where he writes lines to practice and remember so he can feign he understands something or he can buy time to think in some insanely secure lockbox in his room. He's the head of the organization and large organizations don't have mercy only a bottom line meaning their best interests.
The LN tone is pragmatic and reflective of how things tend to actually workout. Ainz is likeable so you're caught in a conflict between the two sides.
Did the Lizard squad got recruited by Ainz personally or did they begged him or something? Also, what was their reaction when they met Ainz?
They debate between killing every lizardman and making them skeletons since if you use real bodies undead they don't have a duration when they would otherwise. They decide to run a test having Cocytus invade and enslave them instead. Cocytus governs them and trains them since they're now an division of the Nazarick army. They worship Ainz as the great and merciful God of Death while offering the best gifts they can get to his statue in the village.
Does the author want us to hate Ainz and co or something? Because I'm starting to root for their opponents to wreck their shit.
It is a story about an Undead Overlord taking over the world and his merry band of human hating/human eating monsters after all.

Can we still hope a "Shalltear made you a vampire" death or is she 100% confirmed never to be seen again ?
Not sure, vol 7 cut off with that part if the spoiler is correct, vol 8 is a short story collection so her fate is rather ???
EDIT: i rather was skeptical about this, if the author wanted to kill her off there is no point in BG story about her sister so i expect a plotline related to her or at least- her sister later. And i don't think he will just leave it like that since it'd turn some people off.
^Oh? Interesting. Wow, the LN version can get deliciously dark.
One thing I like about Overlord is that despite reading most of the spoilers, it doesn't lessen the experience at all. The story continuous to be enjoyable even with prior knowledge about the (often horrific) outcomes.
Also the morbid & "traditional" humor. Those are always welcome.
Not sure, vol 7 cut off with that part if the spoiler is correct, vol 8 is a short story collection so her fate is rather ???
I think that's being too hopeful. The guardians present saw how pissed Ainz got and he directly ordered her to do it. Unless Shalltear disobeys a direct order then I don't think she'll come back or her fate is open.
Drop her into the abyss of despair and give her a painless death. Shalltear comments how while she's fainted she'll pass away and be embraced by the death, but in a romantic sort of sentence structure.
If the author really wants to backtrack on it due to "magic" anything is possible but I don't think he will. Ainz really was not in a forgiving mood and was unhappy they defiled his sanctuary
Some stuff about the dwarf team and how grim it got
The dwarf team leader wasn't actually a bad guy. He was somebody who was forced to leave home because his older brothers took the reins of the family. He decided to become an adventurer and gathered a large team while being a good leader taking care of them. As the cockroaches are eating him alive it's talks about how they're laying eggs in his intestines whenever he screams they go into his lungs and stomach. He's screaming I want to live and return home while thinking about his life story and how he became successful trumping his brothers. He desperately wanted to live so he can showup his brothers by outdo them and going back home to prove it.

Like i said, skeptical. The story cutoff point is make it possible to goes many way
- 1st obvious, despair, tragedy. Rather skeptical since there would be no point to mentioned what her little sister think
- 2nd, WN route with the usage to remove the Sex slave part, make her campire or undead, skeptical since like you said, Ainz is pretty piss off but more chance than above
- 3rd, the girl is dead for real, but some how or other Ainz will save or at least, involved a plotline with her sister since if the author leave it as it is, it'd be a major turn off due to the little sister story and i don't think fans will react happy about it if he just leave them there.
And most importantly, so far, while there have been dark and death, the novel itself didn't carry tragedy tone based on all the released volumes.

You are forgetting, that given death by an embrace of a vampire may not be the end. Ainz said to kill her, not what to do after. There is a possibility for her to become a vampire bride, thus maintaining similar plot-line, just without the perverse sex slave role, making it into vampire servant role.

Wow, I have to say I am really impressed by the fact that the LN is actually darker than the WN. Most WN turned to LN stories tend to gloss over the darker parts or just plain have it not happen at all.
Actually if im not wrong Enri and her sister had their memories of Ainz's lich form wiped.. so i dont think they know he is undead
Yeah but even if they forget that he is undead, they still remember that he saved them and their village. So this still have this "loyalty to their savior" so if Ainz ask them for simple things like keep the potion from getting out. I think they will do this out of loyalty not just following orders.
I just remembered after reading the summary of events in Volume 7 some thins that I was waiting for will not happen.
1. The pompous noble that will say in Ainz face "All Nazarick belongs to the kingdom". Man I would love to read about that scene were that noble just feel so important and says that to Ainz face. :heh:
2. And the second is when the sex slave girl ask for Shalltears virginity and Ainz is like "WTF" I can just imagine Ainz skull face jaw drop lol.
Man this is sad that those things will not happen in LN :(

I said anything is possible with magic, but I don't think she'll come back. For example Albedo doesn't even exist in the WN if not mistaken but she's like the most important NPC. There's a few critical points that make the reader think she's going to be involved in a huge plot point in the future.
The most dark part is volume 6
Demigure abducts something like 10,000 citizens including women and children from the capital city when they invade it. When Ainz finds out he's given a chance to object and at least save the women and children, but if he does Nazarick will be revealed. He tells him if anyone disobeys or disrespects Nazarick give them a painless death as "mercy" and that's the best he can do for them. He can write that then why would this girl matter?
Wow, I have to say I am really impressed by the fact that the LN is actually darker than the WN. Most WN turned to LN stories tend to gloss over the darker parts or just plain have it not happen at all.

Based from the past to present spoilers tags,
she was been voted to be killed by netizen readers of original WN. So her chances for survival is very slim.At least that how i see it. Except if......The author kill her metaphorically. As in 'she die as honorable human but live as masochist slave'. Since she one of minor character that active in certain plot in WN
There's always resurrection magic to bring somebody back.
However, I don't think the chances are that likely unless Ainz somehow finds out about the groups circumstances and pitied them.

that is almost almost impossible cause since he became an undead he can't feel such emotions too much so even if he did pity them it would be gone in a second and he didn't feel much when the Sword of Darkness group died add to that the fact that he was said to be very angry

Honestly, I can tolerate the glossing over a bit more in anime form. You just can't put some things on TV. As much as I love the story I can't really see it lasting to long as a TV series without some fluff added and glossing over some things. I plan on keeping low expectations for the anime and hope it holds up to the story at least a little bit.
@wazawai would you give us a detail or spoil for a ainz's bath scene pic in volume 8?
Instantly he's knocked to the ground and is looking at the ceiling while Albedo is on top of him. She's talking about how he has to take off his clothes or she'll destroy them. She says how there's no need to be shy and she can't take it any longer. He orders the people present to help him and then sentences her to 3 days of being in confinement.
So in order to mount she decided to mount Ainz :heh:
@wazawai would you give us a detail or spoil for a ainz's bath scene pic in volume 8?
I'll give some background about it and the details. Big wall of text coming!
It takes Ainz 3 hours to clean himself because he has to individually clean every bone in his body. He was quite unhappy with the length it took and then he had a genius idea. Slime monster! Yes, he bathes with/in a slime monster and has it go in every nook and cranny of his body. It's because the slime monster can dissolve all the dust, dirt, blood, and grime he gets on himself while being outside. He comments how good it feels and praises himself for thinking of it.
He invites the male guardians to take a bath with him 'cause that's the Japanese way and it's something like a reward. He also ordered the female guardians to take a break too which is where that story with the horse comes from. The guardians communicate with each other through envelopes when it isn't very important. Demiurg sends the envelope with the invitation to Mare and Mare brings it to Cocytus at the lizard village. We get various details along the way, but the scene where Mare is rubbing the ring and looking at Ainz is cause he's reporting back with the envelope and happy.
As the Ainz and Cocytus are heading towards the bath to meet Demiurg and Mare, which has a bunch of different types and styles, they meet the female squad. Albedo is acting funny of course! She tries to follow them into the male bath area and is rejected by Ainz. They make a scene and Demiurg comes out with Mare and have a standoff where Albedo is ready to fight Cocytus and Demiurg to follow Ainz and then Ainz yells and scolds them. He says the females are something like daughters so his feelings are complicated and a bit more. Aura takes it really hard, but is ordered to make sure Albedo and Shalltear don't try and peak or do anything crazy and recovers.
Aura takes it hard cause earlier Ainz was asking her if she has a boyfriend or anything after touching her butt cause it looked so small. He told her to eat more and she replied she does to make Shalltear cry. Aura tells him she loves him the most when he asked if she has anybody she likes. Aura asked who Ainz loves the most between Albedo and Shalltear and he says Aura. There's a lot of nuance stuff I'm missing, but he didn't mean it romantically, but she took it that way plus he manages to tell her when she's grown up making to more complicated.
The bathroom is mostly how you'd expect it. Mare washes his bones while blushing and they go into the bath. He comments how he wished he brought the slime monster, but can't show that. There's lots of playful commentary and at the end Ainz hears Albedo scream his name, he thinks. He starts listening to the wall and then you read the girls talking about how it's difficult for Albedo to wash her wings and so on. Aura jumps into the bathroom and a golden lion statue awakens and sentences her to death for being rude. The voice that sentences her to death is one of the 41. The girls comment how tough it is and the male squad hear a large boom. Ainz orders the males to follow him and help the girl squad and the book ends.
I want to ask does Hamsuke uses the orb of death that Ainz gave him in volume 2 those he still have it?
Did we ever get any indication that Aura had romantic feelings for Ainz? I know that pretty much every female in Nazarick would want to get boned, but it always seemed like she seemed the most daughter-like out of the three female guardians, in both personality and physique.

I don't know about her but her brother has signs. Speaking of which I wonder aura reaction when he is given the ring before anyone else especially before her.

Not a mention of it through 8.
@Krunk
I think it's more she felt Albedo or Shalltear would win so she just resigns herself to the back. After Ainz did a really masterful job of leading her on she for sure did. They all love him so much the line between romantic or not isn't even visible.

no, that wasn't what i mean, the problem here is her little sister input story, if the author truly let her die, then her sister is likely to be involved in 1 way or another, if he just put her little story there and go on, rather than dark, it would be came something more of a loose end. If the author just want to kill her and be done with it, it'd be much better to just lampshade the sisters story to show how bad that world is, but he put these in an unknown position.

I kind of find it funny that the author gave the choose of:
A. Let her live she becomes a sex slave but later have a happy ever after with her little sisters.
B. She dies but I give you a very sad end for both her and her little sisters.
Its like a no win situation that the author made. Its like going back to the past to change it only to find that what you changed may not be the out come that you wanted or expected.
I really enjoy this small changes that the author made.

yea we feel it clearly with the change of those little sisters, so we may end up with a bad ending for our little ainz (if we go with the stream of good prevails)
But from how things happened, it doesn't look like good will triumph in this series. Even if some hero in shinning armor and his flashy party appear to invade Nazarick, what will await them isn't a usual ending where "the demon king is defeated and perish together with his minions" but certainly a fate worse than death. This looks like one of a few story where the "bad guys" win.
oooh. why why you had to kill clementine. my lord.... noooo
He should have brought her to Nazarick and given to Shaltear :heh:

They are not that bad. I think the ending will be either surprising or the end up co-exist.
By the way that magician who wanted to become Ainz's student what are his current whereabouts in the last volume?

in LN he betrayed his kingdom secretly in LN7 and is working as Ainz's spy after Ainz revealed himself to him. (He met him as momo and revealed his identity to the magician)

but that would just be a translation of a translation unlike the unknown long wait for their official chinese version.
unless the chinese tl is good quality for it.
or that the official vol 4 came out that quickly compared to the long gaps between the 3 vols.

Love as their master/leader and creator yes, romantically maybe not as if they do they will go against Albedo and Shalltear. They may have great respect and admiration from him, like Narberal was talking to Hamsuke she was boasting how amazing Ainz true appearance is.

As once being a evil OVERLORD who raise his minions from ruined tower , i don't ready like the way Ainz dominate. I prefer enslave instead of destroy everything i manage to pick up.
So all NPCs actually retain the memories from before they were transported another world. The only difference is before, they just follow order like robots but now, they can make small talks among themselves as if they had been "friends" for decades. Example is Shalltear vs Albedo or Shalltear vs Aura "talks" (more like competing to see whom Ainz likes the most).

Oh! I wonder if Ainz taught him something

There is no reason to enslave everybody.

Despite it being a good read, if this novel gets any darker I might drop it.
I don't want to get attached to a character only to have that character killed off.
There is no reason to enslave everybody.
…What? How can he be an overlord if he doesn't lord over all? Sure, he doesn't have to crush The Tyrant of Terror Baal, but what are measure of an overlord besides supreme domination?

Being lord over all does not mean to enslaving everybody
Being lord over all does not mean to enslaving everybody
There are different degrees of enslaving:
10: Total mind-control/Tyke Bombs
9: Magic mind-control
8: Brain-washing via 're-education'
7: Addiction with severe withdrawal effects
6: Hostages
5: Shackles
4: Religion
3: Employment
2: Threats
1: Bribe
Some specific examples rank higher than others, but generally this is the rankings from most to least effective.

Just look at Overlord Krichevskoy. Until he died fighting Tyrant Overlord Baal, he was one of the nicest guys around, and his wife who was human was virtuous enough that if she hadn't sacrificed her life (commit suicide) to save her son's, she would have become an angel when she died.
Speaking of which who would be stronger: Baal or Zetta? Plus apparently Zenon and Valvatorez were supposed to be exceptionally powerful in their primes, but the games themselves only have them at levels in the lower thousands, while Baal is always at 9999 with stats in the several millions.

He was still considered enough of a tulip for his son to believe he chocked to death on a black pretzel.
But if we put Momonga in Nippon Ichi scales, what would he be? I'm thinking around 7800, with Albedo around 4400. Note that most of the inhabitants of the new world are generally 1~30, with the recent two villains being around 200.

Japanese version it is dark manju but the real reason is sealing Baal.

Then he came back as Vyer the Dark Ad- Midboss:D
Speaking of which, just how does Manju = Pretzel? Surely there are other western foods that have a closer resemblance to a manju, like cream puff or jam-filled donut or something.

Not sure, but I think where I life, they cut that scene out... At least I don't remember ever having seen it.
