I guess that preview that was uploaded several months ago was just one big troll. :p
As some predicted Rei is the one who shows up seeking revenge, and she's also developed a bit after being a character without much significance throughout most of the show. Eventually though Satsuki wins her over at the end and she becomes one of the good guys.
Also, I foresaw Honnouji Academy doubling as a giant robot as far back as episode 2.~ :p
This episode was good for offering some complete closure to the show since the 24th episode didn't cover everything. I don't think a second season is necessary after this.~

that was nice as a closure to the series and we know now why Satsuki had short hair at the end.

really after there is an episode 25? This I gotta see after the "Super Shadow" ending. :heh:
Though the hyped died a bit for me when they really didn't announce anything if 25th was true or not. They shouldn't troll fans.

It's more of a troll in the sense that it led people to believe it would be a beach episode when absolutely nothing of that sort happened in the actual episode. :heh:

Yes, let's have TRIGGER respond to every rumor that comes up in regards to their upcoming productions. That doesn't set a bad precedent or anything...
That was some intense graduation!
Without the OVA the whole KLK cast would of lose their way!

Who needs some rabble forum hype to enjoy just a good old fashioned fun sort of epilogue OVA anyway? If anything it makes it more enjoyable with it not having any particular sort of expectations to fill and to just be a last treat for fans that supported the show.

I actually almost forgot about it by the time I saw it. All I knew was that it'd come out September; I didn't remember that it was this early in the month.

An amazing conclusion to an amazing show. It was a fun ride but it's time to say goodby Kill la Kill.
That was an amazing OVA end to Kill la Kill. I'm happy that they technically left it open to a second season--because someone's red hair color came back somewhere down the line... :eyespin:
I love this series and all stuff Trigger. I can't wait for more Trigger releases. This is my favorite new studio ever.
And lol I just realized that they were trolling about the beach episode. That was fantastic. :D I love all things Trigger. :D
That was beautiful.
Some other anime would give a comedy or a beach episode as an extra episode, but no Kill la Kill. No, Kill la Kill gave us a conclusion, a goodbye, a final thank you to all of the fans who supported Trigger and made this a reality. It is time to let go of the past and move forward toward the future. It has been hard, and there were times we thought we couldn't do it, that we wanted to give up, but we pushed forward and reach the haven beyond. But it isn't the end - only the mark of a new beginning. We are moving on to the many great waiting for us after our long winded journey, for Trigger, for the anime industry, and for Satsuki and Ryuuko. They finally won their hard-earned future.
Fuck, I got sappy. Guess it just goes to show what impact this anime has on me.
That was a nice conclusion to the series.
I feel relieved to know that Senketsu is still within Ryuuko's heart. The way he helped her with her fight was amazing, and the final move was the best of its kind in the whole show.
Kill la Kill was a great show with good characters and amazing action. Thank you Trigger. :D
Great ending. I was kind of amused about how all the weapons used was pretty much supposed to be for the final battle which now makes me wish they were used earlier.
After all this time, speculations that the school could turn into a giant mech turned out to be true. Somehow they managed to make this episode even more epic than the actual finale. Those giants scissors, holy shit. I would have liked a slice-of-life epilogue more, but this is more than fine too.
I liked that they addressed Satsuki and the Four Kings' wrongdoings. They can of swept that under the rug in the series. And lol at Nonon calling her clone's voice annoying. She knows how everybody feels like when she talks now :heh:

:heh: That was my favorite part as well actually. :eyespin: That reminds me of a scene from Railgun S. :heh:
ah... a good conclusion
Mako's enlightenment has reached new level now :heh:
seeing Honnouji Academy sank slowly on the sea is clearly the perfect farewell
Thanks Kill la Kill.. it's been a fun ride
A great send off, but it's a sad feeling knowing that there will probably never be a sequel.

Well even with the knowledge that a sequel wouldn't be possible. Trigger has shown to be both creative and resourceful with their first project so I have faith we'll be seeing even more good works down the road.

Never say never.
In my opinion, while the theme was about letting go of the past and looking for a new life now that Life Fiber's on Earth of virtually gone, was really grand storytelling. Also, I believe that final Red starlight at the end was a possible Nod to a sequel. No matter whether it was Senketsu or other Life Fiber's out there in the Cosmos.
I am very happy to have watched this show, whether it deserves it's hype/recognition or not I believe it delivered a fantastic world full of very interesting characters. Love it or hate it, but it's a definite plus in my book.
Well, it's practically been a year since I left my last post for Kill La Kill, and here I am reviving for one more time this sub-forum to pay my last farewells for this show which was a blazing, hell of a ride a year ago.
The episode felt more of a closure, epilogue episode than a real OVA to me, and it focuses on what each of the characters plan to do next with their lives after graduating now with Ragyo's threat forever gone for good.
Ryuuko doesn't have troubles on what she wants to do next while moving on, since at the series finale Senketsu counseled one last time that she had outgrown her sailor uniform and to carry on trying and wearing new dresses as she's maturing. Nevertheless, Ryuko made a point in episode 25 that while Senketsu is gone and the past cannot be rewind the memories of their adventures together stay in her heart to carry them herself.
If you ask my opinion, the epilogue episode invested the greatest share upon Satsuki, because she's sort facing a life crisis of sorts on what to do next now that she has approached her coming-of-age milestone.
Each one of us that has gone through our respective coming-of-age moment understands that feeling of fear and uncertainty about the unknown future the moment that we have to carry on with our lives now that personal independence has been reached.
Satsuki for over a decade had a set goal in body and mind, and that was to defeat and destroy Ragyo Kiryuuin for good. With that goal accomplished everything else served her purpose. However, we the audience know how Satsuki managed to grow-up readily by watching the TV anime, and how she learn to treasure value of all those that stood by and walked behind her.
It wasn't an easy process for Satsuki to start moving on again with her life, but she was able to do so. Symbolically, cutting off her hair strands pave way for two meanings 1) to pay her respectful farewell to Honnouji academy and laying to rest the past, and 2) as we saw at the closing moments of the series finale episode (the previous one before this one), Satsuki embracing her new life in the future trying new wardrobe along with Ryuuko and Mato.
A few people posted that all the awesome stuff that was put into use in the epilogue episode should had been used in the final fight against Ragyo, however, I definitely say that it was a blessing that all the gadgets and weapons saved for this episode were used in the epilogue in order to make it a blazing-of-glory epilogue full of epic momentum that may well or not reached the caliber of the series finale's end boss fight.
Glad that Satsuki found a new resolve for herself, glad that the Shitennou laid to rest each of their respective pasts, glad that Ryuuko moved along with Mako and her family carrying Senketsus' memory within her, and glad that this epilogue exceeded my expectations.
Personally, I cried a bit at the part when and where Satsuki tells Hououmaru that the latter is a needed in the new world that they have created.
A great send off, but it's a sad feeling knowing that there will probably never be a sequel.
To the MODS that know me well, indeed, it's pitiful we might not be able to see a sequel perhaps ever again. Nevertheless, we can continue to look forward on what TRIGGER will deliver for their next project in the near future.

I didn't even know there was an OVA for Kill La kill until I checked this section. It's definitely a better closure than episode 24.
