Really interesting story, interesting aproach to the nature of magic, the way the runic lenguage works reminds of the self hynosis the magi use in the Nasu verse.

Prologue: Riel’s suffering
_Due to Riel being a birdbrain, also with some complicated circumstances, she would be kicked out of school if she didnt have better result. And so, Glen and other tried to appeal and somehow the headmaster thought of a way that was to send her to a female school during her suspension, St. Lily Girl Academy (also known as Yuri). Since if she managed to get a good grade in the another school then she would be safe.

Chapter 1: Glen 1/2
_After Riel ran away at the end of the prologue, they looked everywhere for her
_Glen spotted Albert in disguise in the church, where he tied Riel up
_Albert explained why Riel ran away was because she scared, since she was only a child in mind. Well, she was [Project Revive Life]'s first successful experiment, which meant she was a clone.
_After that, Lumia and Sistina agreed to go with her and Albert was there to inform them that was planned ahead.
_Just as they mentioned that Glen couldnt go, Celica appeared. This is the best part.
_She blew up the wall of the church to get in, took a mysterious bottle from her bountiful chest, drank a small sip, and..... forcefully fed it to Glen! Yes, it's a damn kiss!!! MILF the best!
_The result, as you can see, he turned into a woman. Well, it seems his chest size was as big as Lumia's hehe!

Chapter 2: Little ladies
_Ren (Glen), Sistina, Lumia and Riel came to the train station, well, steam train station.
_Ren, Sistina and Lumia got lost, Riel was alone.
_She met with a girl name Elsa from St. Lily academy, well, Riel greeted her with the tip of the sword though. After that, Elsa led her to the right station where she met with Sistina and Lumia.
_As the 4 got on the train and it was running, Ren ran up, apparently, she got lost while looking for Riel. In the end, she broke the train window to get in
_After they seated, the little blonde came and asked them to leave. She was Francis, head of the <White Lily> (lily means yuri, in case you dont know) in St.Lily Academy
_They disputed about sitting place, then came Collect, the oppose faction <Black Lily>'s head.
_As they both was fighting each other, Elsa got between them, resulted in her being the collateral damage. But Riel saved her and everything was fine.
_Ginie the assassin, also Francise's maid servant appeared and explain things to Ren's group, that the class was separated into 2 group <White> and <Black> Lily, fighting each other.

_The dreamer suppose to come from the Western land and the killer in her dream has fiery hair and used a very big bastard sword. Hm, let's do a recap, Zion's sister, whose gen used to create Riel, has the same appearance. Hah, what a coincidence~
_That should be it for the dream time.
_Next, they came to school, and it was like a bird cage as Ren said. Completely isolated with the outside world.
_Ren suspected that Riel was transferred here for some purposes, but he couldnt put his finger on it.
_Marianne, the school principle, inform them about the faction in St Lily, which are White Lily and Black Lily
_They came to class, and the horror started
_Ren became speechless when she saw what happened in class. The students divided into 2 factions, leaving only some in the middle and started doing whatever they wanted. Well, they even screamed at each other and at Ren too

Chapter 4: Chaotic Transferred School Life
_The chapter starts after 5 days had passed, Marianne was talking with a certain girl who had a flame carving katana.
_Back at Glen's class, which Celica took over, the students were suffering due to her high class teaching. As she claimed that after learning this, even they could kill gods, she was responded with the students' scream.
_We now return to Ren! She was now famous, and being chased by Francis's group and Collect's group to go eat lunch together. That ended with all of 'em blown up by Sistina.
_Chicks fighting over onee-sama <(") oh, that Rumia's false smile! Oh, canny teeth waifus!

_At the same time, Riel was learning with Elsa

_Next scene, they were sitting at the table eating lunch, with Sistina and Rumia at the left and right of Ren, Collect, Francis and Ginie in front

_After fighting them, they made their way to Celica. According to her, they were at the Academy 89th floor dungeon, where Celica could only solo up to floor 49th.
_As Celica was trying to burst open the door to her "objective", a 2 swords welding black entity appeared (No, not Kirito). It said only people from the star and people from the earth could enter. And that Empty (Celica) was unworthy to enter as she was now.

_They fought the entity and lost miserably
_A Heteromorphic girl with face identical to Lumia appeared and saved them

_Nameless help them get out, she stated that she hate Lumia the most.

_Sistina talked with Lumia, then go looking for Glen. Glen told her of Sera. Then Leos appeared and they fought a bit. Leos summoned Spirit to fight Glen, resulting in Glen's loss.
_Leos used threats to force Sistina to marry him, and she agreed.
_Next come wedding scene, and Glen came right at the perfect moment to steal the bride.

_Chapter starts with 2 new characters with Albert: "Pope" Christoph and "Hermit" Bernard.
_Moving back to Glen and Sistina, Leos appeared. It was revealed that he was an imposter. His true identity is former empire magician No.11 [Justice] Justice · Roufan. And that Leos was dead, his remain was used as a doll.

_Glen solo-ing Justice while Sistina ran away. After some internal conflict, she decided to come back to Glen.

Continuing after the event that Glen being stabbed in his right chest by Riel. As he was wondering what was going on and how he could save himself, Glen lost consciousness.

+Chapter 6: Intertwined wish
The chapter start with Albert fighting with Eleanor and her zombies. Eleanor retreated and Albert discovered the wounded Glen.

In the mean time, Riel captured Lumia with little effort (Sistina tried her best). After that, Albert rushed in with the bloodied Glen, asking for Sistina help, as the ritual goes, she need to perform CPR on Glen, and she did. The scene changed to the captured Lumia, chained up. It was revealed that Riel was also a member of the "wisdom of the heaven council". Riel's brother explained that both of them were raised by the organization, Riel ran from the organization as she thought he was dead, now that she found out he was still alive, she came back. The chapter continue with a bit of ecchi play between doctor Burks and Lumia, which was stopped by Eleanor.

+Chapter 7: Fighting, back to back the Fool and the Star:
Continue after the capture of Lumia, the chapter told the story 2 years ago. When Zion (Riel brother) made a deal with the Empire, in exchange for information and his own punishment, 2 people would be spare and live a happy life, the names werent mentioned. Back to the present, Glen woke up, and after taking to Albert (he's a tsundere) gave him a magical revolver 《 Penetrator》, and set out to rescue Lumina. They fought their way to the dungeon through the sewer, they came to the storage room, and they see the human in tubes, well, just like every other human experience you would see nowadays, with her limbs removed an living on wires, she begged them to kill her, Albert put her out of her suffering. Then Burks came in and Albert fought him, as Glen went to find Lumina. It was revealed that Burks injected himself with the "supernaturals" abilities, the most noticeable one was healing factor. The chapter end with Albert's rage meter hit its peak.

This chapter is divided into 3 scene:
_First scene: the student worrying

_Rainer is Riel's current fake brother, and as Riel is created with Zion's sister gen code, she also inherited her memories, resulted in this current state.
_Three more Riels appeared, and they fought.

I think glen is more like heroic spirit EMIYA.

Both of them wanted to be hero/magician of justice, both of them have insufficent talent/ability to acheive their dream, yet end up become a counter guardian/court magician which is close to what they wanted to be. But over the time, both of them realized that what they have become is different from what they wished for and then end up regreting their dream.

Meh on Rumia, Sisti's my favorite and she has plenty of chemistry with Glen. Main action heroine over damsel in distress. In fact, Sisti is the only reason Glen lived past the end of volume 5. She even got to throw the proverbial pie in Jatise's (however the heck you spell his name in English) face.

I have an aversion to Tsundere, and let's leave at that. While she has proven to be different from the usual fare, there are still sign some times but thankfully she's getting better.

Really that poll. I can understand Rumia, but Sisti having number 2 just smells of bullshit. Sisti's whole character is generic, really generic, all the way from her bahaviour to the way she ''fell" for Glenn. her character is a generic (harem) Tsundere and I absolutely dislike these type of characters.

Also Celica #6, well I can understand that since Celica has yet to actually take spotlight often, compared the Sisti and Rumia. I like Celica. She is independent, doing what she wants to do and following her own desires. Just damn the author was almost always excluding her from fights and handicapping her with some circumstances because she is too strong.

Actually, it's actually harder to find girl like Sistine over Lumia in real life, in our society, the basis of conversation and social make Tsundere type actually really hard to find.

I'm not far into the manga or anime yet but Sistine and Lumia seem like a packaged deal. They are so close where it seems like if you get one then you get the other. Sistine may have a bisexual side to her since she seems to like fondling Lumia as well. Lumia is also a princess. The personality is one part, the thing that's come forth here is shown in behaviour, certain behaviour correspond with certain personality will make impression toward people change, for example, both Boy A and Boy B is good person, but Boy A is always talking loudly and Boy B is talking normally, who do you think is easier to approach. It's just how human brains work, it's like an alcohol addict might found drinking unenjoyable when forced. People just reacted less enthusiasm to strong over calm.

Glen was solo Justice the entire time and in disadvantageous position, True. But that doesn't mean Sistine is the one who hold the responsibility for turning it toward victory, It's like when someone solo a boss down to 10% left HP and then unable to continue solo him and another person jump in to help and KO the boss. Did it mean the people jump in is the one responsible for victory ??? Fact is, Glen was fighting against Justice for like 90% of the fight and Sistine jump in at the very end. Sure, the fight need her to win, but the progress toward that victory is 90% Glen. Let's say if another person was in Sistine place at that time, it pretty much change nothing.

When you are the direct target, the oppression, mental ability, reflex work differently, similar to how people watching a fight call on how direct fighter make mistakes or how 3rd party intervene between 2 peoples. Sistine, in her case, was something of a addition, if she get in their way, get her, if she run, who care But the thing is very different to Lumia, if she run, they chase her down, if she attempt to hide, they held her classmate hostage. Kudelia's value was in her publicity, while Lumia's value was her very self. and FYI Kudelia was taking action in S1, enough to actually take a way to survival. You have to consider who is targeting them. Demand a target to stand up the terrorist who is targeting them is just stupid. What they are afraid of is completely lose track of Lumia or Lumia is under close control of the kingdom, but as long as they can see her, ranging from blackmail, kidnapped, threat,.... everything works. If Lumia join the fight actively, the chance of kidnap her rose a lot, she incur danger just by being on the battlefield. Letting her assist in the fight is essentially have your king rush on the frontline at the war.

This part is actually rely more on individual really. Being docile doesn't make it necessarily being Yesman and being strong doesn't necessary equal good companion, I do agree that it does hold some truth to it but it doesn't really aplly to Lumia case/

While Lumia has a docile personality, she is very strong mentally (she has to be considering how much his life is threatened). Lumia puts on a docile front but is actually quite strong mentally whereas Sistine puts on a strong front but is more prone to cracking. This was shown when those terrorist attacked the school in the early chapters.

Frankly people in real life are less likely to go for those who refuse to admit their feelings and more likely to go for those who are honest with themselves

I agree on first part, that's nothing really new. But you know, no one profit from her being "docile" on surface and only one person profits from being strong inside. Lumia herself. Only time her inner strength matter is when she stop being docile and act. Sistina in other hand is proactive and isn't afraid of conflict, she doesn't have Lumia's mental fortitude, but no matter how much she cracks she after lot of strugle still do her job in the end.

Honestly I never really cared about which criteria other people use when looking for partner, but I truly hope you are wrong and these choices are based on stuff that actually matter instead of something so superficial. Well, both girls are fine in that aspect anyway so even if it was true it still wouldn't be relevant to discussion.

Rather than that, it'd be easier to go into the problems but I usually don't like to be too openly critical about a work. I guess in this case, it's only because it has a lot of wasted potential because the author can't get his stuff together that makes me get worked up a little. Which might be actually a praise instead lol :heh:

Rokudenashi pretty much suffers the same problems as most LNs, ie. amateurish writing. In this case, it's a little more glaring in some areas and also because it fails to contain some amazing strength that makes it stands out (like RE:Zero for example despite the garbage prose and some questionable developments in the WN, it has some amazing plot that forms a strong backbone with great originality involved), to cover its amateurish faults. Up until volume 6, Rokudenashi has nothing that stands out, only hints that it might stand out but fails to deliver.

I can spend half a day making a concrete post with references but I'm not motivated to do that these days (I need to look up stuff you see so it's time consuming). But a brief list of offending stuff that jump out at me are:
- too many arbitrary developments to advance story (for example, an action or a line needs to be done or said to advance the plot and anyone can say it in the situation and there's no justifiable reason on choosing one over another other than to give the person screentime)
- too many cliches as building blocks (never actually had much problems with tropes or cliches with many series but somehow in this series, even the cliches are cliches) --> things get old too fast
- too much "tell"s makes things flat, also makes characters flat. this also probably contributed to the "stitched-up" feel I get from reading it.
- for Sistine's development, only volume 5 second half felt 'real', the rest feel 'flat' and she takes a back seat in v6 again except when 'forced' (by the author) to serve in roles to advance the story (see point 1)
- "save me, Glenn" overused, even Selica uses it. Oh wait, I did mention something about cliches
- there are more, but 15 minutes already wasted on this

I can't really be bothered to list out further. But I'm sure if you read it and read widely, you will at least agree with some if not all the points. :heh:

Back to positive aspect, it hints at some epic stuff, so can only pray author improves

At any rate, I've not been reading stuff for mass consumption for a few years. Well, actually I haven't been reading anything for some time. I would say one of the stronger impressions left on me in terms of writing is still Tenkyou no Alderamin. Mahouka is actually awesome and atrocious at both extremes in writing depending on how you look at it. The LN I am going to start next is 86, which looks promising.

After putting it through google translate, it seems that Glenn is accused of a terrorist bombing of a city hall, and while he was escaping, ran into Jatis and the Order of Heaven group (or whatever they're called), along with the Court Magicians. I'm a little confused on if he runs into the Order and the Court Magicians at the same time, but it seems like they're going to be obstacles he passes through on his escape. It also says it will be the Worst Three Days of the city, so I suppose some conflict is going to go down. Seems pretty interesting, I hope we can get a summary soon

You know, the way the Japanese text in the novels spells his name is "Jatice" and not "Justice." I can kind of see why people want to call him "Justice," but if the author wanted his name that way he would've done it.

What I really want to know is how Glenn reacted when he realized the truth in the Sisti cat incident above. :D

Japanese author often doesn't care that much about spelling, you know like official "Load Ell Melloy II." or famous "shamefur dispray". In this case Jatice likely is supposed mean Justice as well. It's not really mistake, but, more natural result of transition between two languages.

That's because of "engrish," or mistakes caused by the discrepancies between the Japanese and English languages. It doesn't mean authors don't care about spelling, and engrish is a big leap from lacking the proper Japanese vowels/sounds entirely. You pronounce "Lord" as "Loodo" in Japanese which is how they mistook the R for an A (as in "load") and mistaking Ls for Rs and vice versa is very common because they don't have an L so Rs often are used as the closest-sounding equivalent. Yet they got "Justice" perfectly right in Gundam SEED despite a lot of engrish in Sunrise productions, so they know how to spell it right if that was how they wanted it spelled.

When Rumia (second heroine) get the bad things ( she's the princess who's drive out from her family she loved, she have a special power that not like the other ppl who have the same power as her like Glen said her power "Making impossible things possible" we still don't know much about her power which make ppl target her life until now and in the future since her power not temporary thing but with her all life, since she's the second daughter that mean the priority will go to Sistina who hold her family blood ( it seem in the old times ppl who're rich or famous they give the business of the family and priority to get marry and stuff like that for first child and the kids after first child should make there own life outside the family like in what happening in anime Kuroshitsuji if anyone know about it) there's some chara who appeared and saying stuff like she hate her the most, she give up about her love for Glen to Sistina , not good in cooking (tho she's start to get better in cooking in this Vol.9) not good in fighting which seem made some ppl don't like her because she's weak and just standing behind, well she's more like White mage (healing) and Sistina Black mage (fighting) like in the games and we still don't know what Rumia have to do in the future and in the past like what Namenlose said - i have a bad feeling about it lol :eyebrow: )

She's also not honest with herself which is the typical tsudere which is one of the reason she argues alot with Glenn.

Then you have Rumia. She's not as smart as Sistina is academically but she's sharp and can read people very well and understand the situations. Something that Sistina lacks because she's naive. Rumia was not meant to be a frontline fighter like Sistina which is why her power is best as support. Her healing magic is the best among any magician. Also unlike Sistina, Rumia is honest and is not afraid to speak her mind and what she feels. One of the main reasons Glenn treats Rumia better is Rumia accepts Glenn for who he is. She doesn't try to change Glenn like Sistina do by making him more professional and constantly nag about every little thing. Not to mention her will power is amazing and doesn't fear even in dire situation like in Volume 6.

Rumia was not meant to be a frontline fighter like Sistina which is why her power is best as support. Her healing magic is the best among any magician. Also unlike Sistina, Rumia is honest and is not afraid to speak her mind and what she feels. One of the main reasons Glenn treats Rumia better is Rumia accepts Glenn for who he is. She doesn't try to change Glenn like Sistina do by making him more professional and constantly nag about every little thing. Not to mention her will power is amazing and doesn't fear even in dire situation like in Volume 6.

well ... ur right about that, haha sorry in my opinion before i didn't say the bad side in Sistina nor the good side from Rumia but the opposite... so about what u said is exactly what i think about in both of them.

for me i think each chara here have her way to help Glen:

Sistina with her power magic and knowledge like in Vol 1, 4 and 5 and later.

Rumia she helped with her magic healing like in Vol.1 ( i think she's the one who healed him since he was covered in blood since sistina couldn't heal him fully and it's pretty low chance that she carried him to the school in that stat) and helped in healing other time Glen Celica and Re=l in vol 6 or with other time since she helped all of them in vol 6 with her will power or her rare power and she always helping Glen morally in a lot of time or when he want to make decision or hesitation about something.

Celica helped Glen too by taking care of him for like 9 years and she's saved him like in Vol6 and 9 too.

Re=L helped Glen in vol 4 when he was close to die and she helped Glen, Rumia and Sistina many times after that like vol 6,7 and 9.

that's why i respect each girl here and each one of them have her way to help Glen when he close to die or making wrong decision.

I am curious have you see in the series that Lumia can fight against enemies? Unlike I havent seen that she fights with Sistine and Glenn. Sistine and Glenn always protect her and fight for her. If she can fight on the volume, then she won't be a useless girl about fight. I hope so. :heh:
