Oh, if I remember correctly that's the empress. She's copying the idol singer thing that he introduced. Basically trying to boost her popularity in her empire, lol. I think that was it.
Naden is Oriental dragon. So Halbert get a new girl, so his Harem is:
- Kaede
- Aisha's cousin (I don't remember the name)
- Ruby (a dragon girl)

JNC has started vol 6 pre-pub translation.
Will Excel join the Harem "because in the lastest translated chapter she did teach Souma about sex and she said it will be more than once.
And possibly another child from her? I remember that she has live for around 500 years and before she was an Admiral of Friedonia, she was a pirate. She has tons of experience about it though.
Will Excel join the Harem "because in the lastest translated chapter she did teach Souma about sex and she said it will be more than once.
Actually she did other thing
Excel deceive Souma so he drink a very strong alcohol so in that way Souma will be drunk. When Souma was drunk Excel ask him what does he like of his fiances (Liscia,
Aisha, Juna and Roroa) and what kind of sex position he want to have which each of his fiances. Souma didn't remember what happen but Excel then tells in a private lesson to Souma's fiances what did he told her when he was drunk.
So Naden doesn't know that she can fly or something like that. As well she can use electricity instead of fire. Well she doesn't know that she is kind of an oriental dragon and she is depress that nobody will choose her (well she doesn't know that Souma will choose her).

Just search for the old page of this thread, because almost all of the readers here knows only the LN, I also forgot some information, and the WN is little bit confusing since it was transferred to pixiv. Anyway this will be the gist of it.
-Souma met the dragon goddess/mother dragon or whatever they called it.
-Souma ended up having a contract with a dragon making her his wife. Because a giant cube appeared and start attacking the dragon kingdom, Souma ended up riding the heroine dragon. Dont worry, the heroine can use human transformation.
That's the important points in star dragon arc.

The thing is, we need to know the big festival itself that holds annually. You can't be crowned without utilizing the festival for more benefits XP
Most Novel series crowned the head Monarch during festivals like Madan no Ou To Vanadis. I do hope Friedonia has an annual festival that can utilized as his crowning day.
Anybody here have explanation about Divalroi... The assumed name of the Demon Lord
First mentioned in Volume 3 LN: Chapter 4: Pact
No idea, so far Demon Lord took the homeland of the Mystic Wolf Tribe. Also Soma doesn't want to sign the pact offered by Empire since it was a double-edge sword.
There's a magic based reason behind it.
The former queen has an ability which lets her reset her life. Thanks to that she's done future sight vision like lifestyle by re-living over and over until she finds her ideal future.
The queen is the original princess of that kingdom, youngest of a number of siblings, but they all ended up killing each other and the kingdom ending fighting over the throne so it ended up in her hands. The king married into his position as king, wasn't originally a prince. She married him after trying to marry any number of kings who could rule and all lead to the end of the kingdom other than him.
After she marries him it still ends it just takes that much longer because of how beta he's seen and the fact thathe does like nothing for the kingdom. (Still gets attacked and ends they just get that much more prep)
So to further fix that + to meet the request of the empire they summon the MC, the first time they summon him the king gives him the position of prime minister and basically leaves him in the same position as he is in the story - the king part. Though he gives his best the kingdom still ends and both the MC and princess die in war. So they try one more time and this time the king literally just dumps everything on the MC in chaos mode like in the start of the series.
I never Finished chaos mode without cheat engine.. And basically earth most revered Invention aka Gundpowder basically useless. Because they has all of subtitute tech there

I think that Holy Maiden will never join Souma's harem. Remember that her personality is like a doll, but she hates the pervert priest (of her religion) that now is the current bishop of Friedonia.

Finished reading Vol 6 and so far I think this is the weakest arc of the story. Mainly because of the lack of Kingdom Building, political maneuvering and intrigue in this arc. The new harem candidate character is so-so but I guess we can expect the development of electrical power next volume. Kinda sad that we only got a small mention of Empress Maria in the volume. Her performing in the jewel broadcast like an idol was hilarious. :heh: I really want to see a face to face meeting between Souma and Maria though.

In a way, it does confirm the LNs have been shifting around the WN material (Accounts in previous posts say its towards a more chronological timeline?).
Because I recall seeing a fantranslated TOC of the WN which places Naden's story arc after Souma meets the Lunarian Orthodoxy rep, but IIRC in the LN Souma hasn't met them yet prior to meeting Naden (please correct if I'm wrong about the timelines).

If you're talking about the Lunarian Orthodoxy's Saint Mary then actually yes Souma already met with her in Vol.5. I liked that arc especially when they outsmarted the Lunarian's request of making their religion a state religion and the appointing of a corrupt bishop. :heh:

Vol. 1 - Souma getting summoned and becoming King. Kingdom reforms
Vol. 2 - War against the 3 dukes and Amidonia
Vol. 3 - Souma's occuption of the Amidonia Capital and his negotiation with Gran Chaos Empire

Not sure if the one I read had reduced content or not but it's probably not that significant.
A country made up of Religious fanatics is always a threat when it comes to isekai novels. That's nothing new. That's one of the cliches in this genre.

Ayy....vol 7 is still somewhat boring. And is it just me, or the last 2 volumes seem quite short?
Content wise, the volumes are pretty similar in size (give or take about 15-20 page difference in the raws).
But it seems short, mainly because the focus on the 'Main Story' was less (especially volume 06), while more focus was given on side story.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On another note, there is still no info on release of LN Volume 08 in Japan yet (mostly because the Manga Volume 02 is released this month), but considering that J-Novel have caught up with the translations, guess now we wait until next volume releases (or maybe they would get the raws for Volume 08 early, and we might have a simultaneous release of both Japan and English version possibly around October).

I don't think its the 3rd sister (especially since she is supposed to be similar to Genia).
Rather it might be someone related to the "Kingdom of Lastania", and possibly the future wife of Julius.
As per the summary, it seems that the Demon Army's activity have increased (mentioned in Vol 07 as well), and Souma sends his men to "Lastania" to help out (because of Maria's request), and they meet Julius there who is working in the Lastania army or something (most of my understanding is based on what i got from 'GT').

NAJ P. Jackson

^He'd be violating the pact spearheaded by the Empire if he did that. And this time he won't be able to use the excuse of Souma not signing the pact.
Why Julius never quits? But this is fun since we can see how desperate Julius is despite now Amidonia has merged with Elfrieden and become Friedonia.

Spoilers here on Julius:
He has indeed reformed. The shock of his entire country basically rebelling and forcing him into exile forced him to really do some introspection. In the meanwhile, he's staying in Lastania fighting against the Demon armies on the front lines, and ends up winning the love of the Princess of Lastania at the same time.
That said, the war is basically going bad for Lastania, to the point where they're scrambling to try to get any reinforcement they can. Unfortunately, the only real power that can get there in time is Friedonia, so at that point Julius went as far as offering his own head (to further legitimize Souma's rule of Amidonia by removing the last royal not aligned with him) in exchange for Souma's aid.
Souma ended up helping anyways, and the condition he imposed was for Julius to marry the Lastanian princess and to take their name. This way, it removes the last vestiges of Julius' claim to Amidonia without forcing Souma to kill Rorona's last remaining family. Needless to say, this was happily accepted by all parties involved.
Happy End. Except for the demons. That still needs to be taken care of...

Q is the princess Julius marry next in line to the throne or just in the line? Would annoy me if he still wound up king of a better country after failing in his own
He'll be the prince consort not the king.
Still sucks cause he'll have some authority and lots or luxury without any real suffering

What would ”real suffering" entail, after having your father and king slain, and your own country basically turning against you—forcing you into exile?
He basically got no idea that his little sister, Roroa is the one that made Julius to exile. Of course he didn't know since Roroa only do it behind the scene.
He may be changed and of course since Souma struck some heavy deal. He have to extinguish his family's legacy and joining the princess'es family as a price to make sure he won't rebel again.

Just a letter sent to Souma from her saying she was pregnant is the only thing important that she did there. Well, the Bonus chapters for Volume 07 has one chapter which is about Liscia (haven't read it yet, so don't know its content, but know its there because of the bonus content list on "J-Novel" site).

will they delay the ceremony again? :heh:
geez, Souma is still technically just a provisional king after 7 vols :heh:
Well, at the end of volume 07, it was around the 8th month of the current in-story year (the volume covered events from the 5th to 8th month), which basically makes it that there is around 4 more months before the wedding (as mentioned in the end of volume 5, Souma is supposed to be crowned and marry at the end of the current in-story year).
So, my guess all those would possibly happen in the 9th volume, unless the time frame for the 8th volume is really slow or something happens which will delay the ceremony during the events of vol 09.
I'm guessing that Liscia will give birth to her child before the official coronation ceremony
Liscia informed Souma about her pregnancy around 5-6th month of the current in-story year (which means she had to be around 3-5 month already). And considering that the marriage and coronation is supposed to happen at the end of the current in-story year, so yeah its possible that she would give birth before her marriage.
By the way, since i haven't read the WN, i am not sure what exactly happens.

Edit: I tried as best i could to figure out the chapter name for the Epilogue of Vol 08 (the ToC is out with the official site preview) and it seems that Volume 09 might focus on "Nine Headed Dragon Archipelago Union".
This is the best i could figure out the Kanji's for the chapter name of Volume 08 (since the official source image is so small, there might be errors),

Soma and Liscia did have their wedding after the babies was born, heck they married when the babies is 6 months old iirc. btw, the wedding is not only with Liscia, but with his 4 other fiancee as well.
The wedding also serve as his coronation ceremony where he got a crown from elfrieden king (liscia dad) and a sword from amidonia representative(roroa's granpa iirc) legitimazing him as king of both Elfrieden and Amidonia (Friedonia).
Oh also. at the time of soma's wedding, his retainer also hold their own wedding as well, Poncho with Serina and one other(i forget her name but she is the one confronting serina in vol 5), Hal with Ruby and Kaede, the slave dealer and his slave, Ludwin and scientist girl. Only Hakuya who hasnt married yet among his retainer.

So Roroa will get to see her brother again huh.
Either he realize or not that his sister is responsible to kick him out from Amidonia, this can get interesting. Especially if he got scolded by his own sister due to his incompetence.

I'm pretty sure he already knows. From Vol 5: Intermission 3
"Who... are you?" Jirukoma asked.
The man pulled back his hood. "I am Julius Amidonia. Though that family name holds no meaning now. I am the fool of a man who was defeated by King Souma of Friedonia and had his country stolen from him by his little sister."

He should figured it out already but the main challenge is will he take responsibility and courage to apologize to his sister directly after what he has done to Amidonia back then. Roroa struggling single-handedly to keep economy moving yet Julius and Gaius wasted it on revenge.
If he doesn't apologize, i can't admit that he has changed.

hey I know It's a stupid question but just to make sure are his harem a virgin? and do they ever have a relationship before?
Chance low, as most of them have been in higher status position.
- Liscia, being the Princess of a Country and a person with Military mind-set, won't have one.
- Aisha, is the daughter of the Elf Village Chief, making her almost similar to Liscia.
- Roroa, is also a Princess of a Country, and one who is more into business aspects, so no for her as well (she is also the youngest of all of Kazuya's fiancée).
- Naden is from Dracul, and has to in a way form relationship in the ceremony, so she couldn't as well.
- Juna is the only possible who could have had a relationship with someone, but seeing as how the story represents her, its less likely that anything like that happened for her.
By the way, there are various reasons as to how a girl/woman can lose virginity. If its the normal way, then the above statement stands true.
But if the loss is from other reason, then Liscia, Aisha and Juna might have already lost theirs (since they do a lot of combat and exercise).

This can be a problem if Lunaria Kingdom turns out has absolute authority when it comes to religion ceremony. In Isekai Yakkyoku, San Fleuve Empire's authority is second to the church so they don't want to mess the church except High Priest Solomon that worships Falma due to be a medicine god incartation.
This can apply to every Kingdom as well since we don't know how far the influence made from Lunaria itself.

Funny how the other male characters are getting a harem of their own in this Novel.
Even Kuu the chief's son from Turgis republic is implied to get two women with Leoporina joining when he and Taru decide to stop denying their feelings. Of course Kuu doesn't seem to realize that plan of hers lmao.

Oh, didn't know that there is a Title change as well for this series.
Is it something from the Web Novel, if so please elaborate (as WN translation is slow and behind LN).
Or else, if possible, please add the "confirmed" WN inputs to the Wikia/Fandom for this series.

Yes it changes from Country Rebuilding(Reform) to Great Country Construction(google translation). I don't know how author gonna do in the LN tho. If he gonna finish this one and start another one like mondaiji author did or keep it going as one novel.

Thanks for the help.
I have seen the author's "pixiv" site before, but i didn't focus much on the series names before until you mentioned it.
So, from what i gathered after checking a lot (correct me if i am wrong here), based on my partial knowledge/understanding of the Japanese Language, plus "jisho.org" and "Google Translate",
The Web Novel Series is currently divided into two parts,
* Part I -> "Genjitsu Shugi Yūsha no Oukoku Kaizōki"; a.k.a., A Realist Hero's Kingdom Reconstruction Chronicle.
* Part II -> "Genjitsu Shugi Yūsha no Taikoku Kenzōki"; a.k.a., A Realist Hero's Great Nation Construction Chronicle.
On the other hand, Light Novel and Manga are named as "Genjitsu Shugi Yūsha no Oukoku Saikenki"; a.k.a., A Realist Hero's Kingdom Rebuilding Chronicle.
Wait... So, the title will change following his coronation? Does the author already confirms it?
Well, yeah it seems that the Author did do it, but whether the same change would be applied for the Light Novel as well is unknown currently.
But i think its possible, considering that the Japanese name of the Light Novel also contains the following sub-line;
Re:CONSTRUCTION
THE ELFRIEDEN KINGDOM
TALES OF REALISTIC BRAVE
And considering that by Volume 04, the "Elfrieden Kingdom" becomes the "Friedonia Kingdom", i guess a name change is possible (atleast maybe only for the English text in the Japanese title).

Well they've got military support from Notung kingdom, so it's not all that bad and since they survived the wave they might be able to get more influences and even lands
I can't help but to speculate that lunarian and the mercenary state will be either a vassal or incorporated to Friedonia since they are a bit antagonistic to the friedonia kingdom. Lunarian might be subjugated by using cultural war and mercenary state by military oppression.

They're going to one of the nations getting attacked by the demon wave. The nation of Chima. As the name says and the guy's look, it's more Chinese than anything.

^Yes that part about the Duke giving away his talented sons and daughters as retainers in exchange for those who will come to their aid had me wondering if Souma will get another bride. Especially that beautiful daughter Maria talked about but not because she's beautiful but because she has talents that Souma is curious about.
Speaking of Maria, it was great to see her tease Souma into her becoming his bride and letting him take over the Gran Chaos Empire. I'm still holding out hope it will happen. And damn but Hakuya lowkey proposed to Jeanne to take her as his wife. Too bad Jeanne thought he was just joking.

Just my silly speculation again but it would be both hilarious and nice if Souma would not only get Mutsumi for his new bride, but other siblings for his retainers, though some of their talents are overlapping with each other.
Yeah that would be nice if he could marry Maria as well, but first thing first he needs to find a way so that his kingdom will have a direct border with the empire so that they could become closer, lol,All the reasons to conquer either the mercenary state or Luranian, maybe even both.
Surprising to know that Liscia is pregnant with "twins" (i don't remember any mention relating to that fact with the WN that some people posted before, so was it changed in the LN?)

Rather than a Fiancee (in the form of Mutsumi Chima), he is more likely to get the 8th Son (Ichiha Chima) as his retainer (one of the reasons being, that his LN artwork has already been revealed).
As for Volume 8, i have to say that the plot covered is better than what we had during the previous Volume 7, which felt like it lacked a proper base to it.

Makes sense to me. Souma said before that if he wanted someone with martial prowess he already has Aisha for that. Since Ichika was drawing something, he is probably some kind of artist. Souma would like that.
Aisha, Naden, Juna, and Lisha are indeed strong, especially both Aisha and Naden who are in different dimension when it comes to martial prowess, but none of them is suitable to command thousands of troops at field. If you have read vol 8, you could see how organized and powerful Souma's troops were under Julius's leadership. Although Kaede is good at planning stuff, she can't lead people quite well and Ludwin is now one of the highest generals, so he can't be put in the front line if possible.
Musumi is also known for her ingenuity and she certainly seems to be able to lead her troops, so she certainly can fill that vacant role. Should she become Souma's bride, people would wonder if putting a secondary queen in the front line is a good idea, but then again Aisha is literally a front liner now and Juna was discharged od Navy due to Excel's request as i recall and her new job as the lorelei given by Souma.
When Musumi explained to her brother what kind of future husband she has always wanted, it screams "souma" for me at least.
I bet Friedonia's reinforcement is the largest that will show up in Chima and they will play a more vital role compared to other reinforcements, so being given more than 1 candidate for a retainer is not that far stretched. Heck, it would be wise for Dutch of Chima to send his daughter off to Souma since Friedonia is literally a powerhouse now, second only to Empire

A basic for a work of fiction to be of a good quality is it's verisimilitude. A story needs to be somehow easily believable. Of course, we can't ask that much from amateur writers, we all know we are not reading George RR Martin works on syosetu but it is expected from this novel to be an exception as it claim to show a realist State reform story.
Unfortunately, it fail completely in doing that, as there is a massive number of small and less small plot holes.
I can explain some of those i still remember and that shocked me quite a bit:
He made schools for either slaves or slaves and commoners, what is so shocking ?
Well, the schools are not shocking by themselves, the schools uniforms are ! Before the industrial revolution, clothes were very expensive ! Most of people used to wear many-times mended clothes made by housewives and other women of their household, and buying clothes is a proof of wealth. Therefore, for a pre-industrial revolution country which had food shortages until one year ago to provide uniforms for students is a ridiculously extravagant expenditure !
I imagine that it was an obvious matter for a modern Japanese guy who seemly never left his own country to associate "student" with "uniform" but the story is suddenly much less believable
It is also obvious that the author know nothing about an actual order of battle:
Amidonian army possess a thousand wyverns but was surprised by the MC's army as they didn't send any scout, and no, their lord being hurried is not an acceptable explanation as a thirty thousand men army possess many lords in it's ranks if it is a feudal army, many officers if it is not a feudal army. In both cases, those people will do their job routinely without waiting for orders as two people are not enough to ensure the whole army's operation. Moreover, as the wyverns unit was left untouched until the final battle, they were expected to carry out the scouting without waiting for command. Think about it this way: They are 10 times faster than their main army (they fly) yet they spent 3 whole days not doing anything. Moreover, even if their lord was very worried about what happening in his own capital, he didn't send them to keep track of the situation !
Now MC's army: they are fifty thousand strong and no actual rearguard, once some cavalry went to stop the enemy cavalry from breaking through, there were no men left to protect the king against a single horsemen ! That's ridiculous ! The royal tent of a fifty thousand strong army posses tens of officers and hundreds of men at any time: Ranks of pikemen, archers (and magicians for a fantasy). Adding to them a flying unit to avoid losing the king in a stupid way by an enemy wyvern sneaking in and bombing him.
It's a medieval country, therefore warfare tactics are not that advanced ? A stupid explanation ! They might be under-developed, but it has never been said that they are stupid and basic (and less basic) warfare tactics are as old as war itself.
This bring us to the weaponry: It has been said that artillery is underdeveloped because it's way inferior to magic. Then what about the anti wyverns weapons with high rate of fire actually being used? Why aren't they also used against regular soldiers ? No one has thought about such an obvious thing ? Again, nonsense.
Well, the number of such plot-hole and misconceptions is massive (Several each episode): The author is adding things only relevant to an industrialized society and the common sense of the characters is often out of the modern Japanese culture or otaku sub-culture.
It would have been fine if only with elements which are relevant in an unindustrialised society but is is not the case.
Your complaint ignores all the expositions given by the author, sending wyvern scouts is literally like sending a suicidal scouts since all armies have bolt thrower to kill of the wyverns. And no, wyverns for scouting is a bad idea since they are large and anyone can see it, thus easily intercepted by enemy's wyvern and even bolt throwers.
The MC's armies definitely had rearguard but occupied by the suicidal armies of Amidonia and the Amidonian's armies were unable to be broken off, of course even the rearguards would be busy. It was also hard to tell who is who among the Amidonian's armies, so Gaius was able to slip off the rearguard.
They have magic for it to shoot off frontline armies, while it's impossible to shoot down wyvern with magic. Necessities breed inventions. Using bolt throwers is useless against infantries who have magicians that could make earth into shields and so on.
When Musumi explained to her brother what kind of future husband she has always wanted, it screams "souma" for me at least.
Problem with that is, here Mutsumi is ok with any men as long as they showcase some form of power or command.
While Kazuya does have political power and holds command, he isn't personally strong himself. Also, there doesn't seem to be the feeling of "family" which Kazuya and his other wives are looking for (in Kazuya's future wives) in Mutsumi. Well i could be wrong about it, but i still feel that Mutsumi won't be a wife candidate.
If i have to say, i think that Mutsumi might pair-up with that "Fuuga Haan" guy, who we see in the artwork for Volume 09 (images i posted before). For some reason, i see both of them as perfect fit for each other.

I'm beginning to dislike the Author's propensity to pair everyone in this story. First Julius and Tia and now Jorumuko and Lauren. And Last Volume it was Kuu and his Chidhood friend and his Bunny Bodyguard, there's also Poncho and Serina and Komain.
:eyebrow:
Kuu's antics been a bit annoying in this Volume.
Their plan to deal with those Lizardmen didn't impress me as well.
Haven't finished the Volume yet but it just feels like the story is lacking on something.
Sadly the only reason I'm reading this still is to see if Maria will join the group

Eh? Why not? It's quite rare for side characters to get their own romantic progress. It's quite refreshing imo when a series pays attention to its side characters.
Kuu made a nice impression for me though in this volume. He showed that he could motivate people. He also knows how to use others talents for bargaining chip.
Their plan for dealing the lizardmen was quite nice. Making them turn each other with other monsters by teaching them how to eat other monsters was quite unique. It has been subtly hinted that the relationship between the lizardmen and other monsters is kinda off, so Touma took advantage of that

It's just not believable that they haven't learned to eat burned monsters. Especially when there are Lizardmen capable of breathing fire. I don't buy the explanation at all. :eyebrow:
And I don't mind if side characters hook up in a story but the Author goes his way to give focus on such relationships.

Personally, I don't mind that. It gets too cheesy for my tastes at times, but I'd rather have that instead of cardboard cutout, one-dimensional side characters.

Actually it's quite believable. If you think about it, the lizardmen tried to eat the monsters without "cooking them" first which resulted death of food poisoning for their members. Their first experience made them wary of eating the monsters. It might sound like a "plot convenience ", because there is 50-50 chance the lizardmen woud have found out how to eat them without getting sick , had their first chance involved the fire breathing lizardmen. However, it would have been more convenient for the MC had the lizardmen found out about how to eat the monsters since the number of monsters would have been reduced significantly and they would have been less likely attacking the humans since it would have been easier to hunt the monsters. So yeah, it is believable and doesn't feel like "plot convenient "
One of the problems i had with the "teaching Lizardmen to eat cooked food" strategy used in Volume 8 is that; Lizardmen are supposed to be like "animals", so in a way they should have fear towards stuff like fire (a natural enemy of animals).
While it would be understandable that a Lizardmen which can use Fire-breath might not fear fire, but in general any animal is usually quite fearful of it (also the Fire-breathing Lizardmen were shown to be rare). Because it can seriously hurt them if they don't have any resistance.
Even the most fearless animals in our world have hard time getting used to fire, and in most of those 'animal tricks' we see were animal either jump over a ring of fire, or a wall of fire, it usually takes a lot of training, coercion and reward based strategy that gets them used to it.
The best way the author could have showcased that part is, have Kazuya and the others train that captured Lizardman over the course of around 1-2 weeks before setting it free for the strategy. That would have made it somewhat believable situation.

Yeah that's Also one of the things I have gripe with with that plan. They only fed it once and lo and behold it suddenly learned right away that cooked food is good. It would have been better if they show them easing the Lizardman overtime to eat the cooked monster to ingrain the knowledge to its head. At the very least they should have fed it 3-5 times before setting it free.

It felt exactly like a plot convenience for reasons stated above. The whole plan was not thought properly well by the Author. The Lizardmen are shown as more like animals with basic and instinctual thought process not akin to primitive humans but suddenly it became intelligent enough to figure out about cooking it's food after only eating it ONCE but it also figured out HOW to cook their food just like that. And then apparently they became idiots again when they were too busy cooking and eating their cooked food that they didn't noticed the very loud charge the humans are making in attacking them. Author should make up his damn mind on their level of intelligence :uhoh:

@Huh as well
"Animals intelligence " is a very broad term. Some animals species have shown that they are in fact smarter than other species, like for example elephants have been proven to be able to deceive others and even use tools and some primates are even capable understanding human's way of speech. When you say, "animals inteligence", then i might ask which species of animals are we talking about?.
Julius even said that the lizardmen are actually quite intelligent, not as intelligent as sapiens, but they are almost there since they kepth attacking the castle's weak points
@Huh, this point is more about refuting your argument. The animals (except humans ofc) in our world have no need of fire, since they can just eat their foods raw and able to survive without the use of fire. Comparing lizardmen with animals here regarding their attitudes towards fire is just like comparing apples to oranges.
@Npjakson.
The lizardmen were extremely hungry at that time and were busy eating. Even sapients like us can be caught off guard easily when we are busy doing things, like eating, reading and etc.
Oh ya, first experience actually matters a LOT even for us. As shown that foods are what matter for lizardmen the most, and their first experience eating cooked food is safe and advantageous for them, of course they will be more than happy to satisfy their hunger.

Again, first experience matters a lot. Their first experience to eat those monsters resulted to their own demise, even lizardmen that breathe fire would think "eating those monsters = dead lizardmen". Since those who can breathe fire are much fewer than those who do not, of course the chance is most likely for the lizardmen first experience to eat them without using fire.

I agree that "Animal Intelligence", is really a broad term, and many animals have shown the ability to adapt and learn how to use tools.
But that doesn't mean they did it immediately within a single day. It takes time to learn. Just tell me, have you seen any Animal yet, who had picked up a new trick or habit within a single day of showing? (even Dolphins and Monkeys/Apes take some time to learn, and they are one of the most intelligent animal species after Humans).
Getting used to new stuff even for us Humans isn't that easy, be it how hungry we might be.
Like example, you might try eating "Shasimi" or "Carpaccio" or "Steak Rartare", but that doesn't mean you would get used to eating them in just one try, especially if you come from a culture were eating raw meat is generally considered a bad thing.
That's why i also mentioned that "it would have felt more realistic if the author had expanded the food habit part for a few days/weeks (would have taken just 1-2 line additional to mention that).

Comparing lizardmen with animals here regarding their attitudes towards fire is just like comparing apples to oranges.
Technically, even us Humans don't need Fire to cook food, proven by the fact that there are countless 'safe to eat' raw meat/fish dishes around the world.
We just slowly learned (over the course of many years and century during our evolution) that cooking raw meat/fish increases the taste of them and removes the chance of getting sick while eating them.
Also, be it any Animal; Intellectual (Human) or Wild (Monkeys/Apes/Dolphins), have a fear developed towards Fire (not completely instinctual but by experience of pain mostly).
This should be especially true in a World of Magic, were it would be more easier to control and kill Monsters or Animals with Fire, than with other stuff (since Fire in any form has a more physical/mental impact on us or any animal when we see it compared to a spike of ice/water or stab of rock).
Also, even if Lizardmen in this story are supposed to be as smart as say Monkey/Ape/Dolphin/Elephant, even then it shouldn't have taken them just 1 day for it to get used to eating cooked food, or learning the concept of using fire to cook food.
Again, first experience matters a lot. That's true, but the problem lies with how they showcased it in Volume 8.
They just showed them cooking a Monster, and the Lizardman who was hungry getting attracted to the smell of roasted meat.
Now my question is, those Red Lizardmen, who can breath fire. And they must have possibly atleast once in their life killed another Monster using their Fire-Breath, isn't it (the chance of that not happening is really impossible).
So, if this one Lizardman was attracted to the smell of roasted meat, then why weren't there any other (specifically the Red Lizardmen) who had the same experience as it. Even if the Red Lizardmen were in the minority, atleast a few of them should have been used to eating roasted meat (i am only considering the Fire-breathing ones, not the normal one here).

http://alfre.dk/monkeys-washing-potatoes/
As shown in that article, the whole population of macaque in that plate made washing potatoes as their habits. You might say "see it takes a few years ", but the whole situation is vastly different from lizardmen case. 1. Lizardmen were desperate to eat, unlike those macaque who have a considerable amount of diet. 2. In volume 8, the lizardmen were in what we call "closed environment " where those lizardmen are in one enclosed particular area.
Tricks that you mentioned are vastly different from what lizardmen did in vol 8. Those animals would still survive without learning those tricks, while in lizardmen's case it was about surviving. Their hunger was uncontrollable and after losing the fight they could not eat anything for a whole day. So yeah, those animals had no evolutionary push to have an immediate response unlike the lizardmen.
There are several reasons why animals are wary of fire, 1 it's due to fear and i agree of what you said there and 2. Like i mentioned, which is lack of necessities. When you have to fulfill your necessities desperately, even you will forget what fear is for example, gazeele and those herbivores will still cross a river full of crocodiles, so that they could consume more plats on the other side of the river.
Again, their early instinct/process of thoughts is "eating monsters : dead lizardmen" even lets say the fire lizardmen managed to kill those monsters with their fires, they would still be wary of eating it due to their early instinct, until someone from their group kept eating those monsters without getting killed due to food poisoning.
That particular lizardmen was restrained and unable to eat those "tasty meals"(Souma and co), now can you imagine its desperation? When given a chance to eat the monster that souma caught and cooked, like i mentioned earlier "necessities could overcome fear" and started eating the monster. Since it survived, its early thought /instinct was overriden to "cooked/burned monster : safe to eat"
@Royalknightftw: The problem isn't entirely with the idea though, its more with the time-frame and time-spent to apply that said idea.
Even if the captured Lizardman instinctively understood that burnt/roasted Monster meat could be eaten (without dying), and even accepted it immediately as well (because of "necessities could overcome fear"). But that was mainly because it was hungry beyond its limit.
Its even said as per Tomoe's translation that the captured Lizardman was happy that it finally had its belly filled, after it finally got to eat.
But that doesn't mean that it would apply the same logic so soon immediately (like the very next day itself). I mean, its not like a person would always die upon eating raw meat. Same with those Lizardmen as well, they must have instinctively understood that eating raw meat can (not always) kill you (if it always killed them, then that mean it wasn't because of harmful effects, but because it was poisonous which can't be simply removed by cooking/roasting).
So, the first time it ate was only because of "necessities could overcome fear", but it needed to eat a few more times before the concept of "burnt/roasted Monster meat could be safely eaten" would have been accepted.
That's why, it would have been better if the author had introduced the situation were that captured Lizardman repeated the same process a few more times (over the course of few days or weeks) to be instinctively sure of that fact.
Their hunger was uncontrollable and after losing the fight they could not eat anything for a whole day.
Its not that they couldn't eat for a whole day, its mainly they couldn't eat sufficiently after losing, because what they ate were dead/killed human and the amount depended on how many they could kill per attack. This was mentioned during a meeting between Julius and others (before Kazuya & Co. arrived) that they have been steadily losing the armed forces (both by death and injury). So, that means the Lizardmen might have been able to eat some what (or else why did they stop attacking during night time?, because if they were so hungry, then "necessities could overcome fear" should have applied during a night attack as well).

Is it Male and Female or maybe both males or both females? (Hopefully 1 male and 1 female). Still, i can't wait to see Volume 09 if Kazuya decide to return immediately to see his children.
Still, i can't wait to see Volume 09 if Kazuya decide to return immediately to see his children.
He would most likely, as that image with Liscia and the twins indicate that they are back in Parnam (because there is a Royal Carriage behind them).
My guess is that his children are born around the end of Vol 09.
This i think mainly because, the last Chapter of Volume 09 aka., Epilogue 2 is named "Okaeri" which means "Welcome Back" (was able to read some of the names of the chapter titles from that LN 09 preview, but since the resolution was too low, only managed to read a few chapter titles).
Also, the listing of the chapters in Volume 09 suggest that most of the stuff in "Duchy of Chima" do end fast (chapter format is kind of similar to Vol 07), with
- 1 Prologue
- 7 Main story chapters
- 2 Epilogue, and
- 5 Side/Extra story type chapter (one of which focus on "Genia and Merula")
A boy, Shian (named by Souma) and a girl, Kazuha (named by Liscia in homage to Souma's real name, Kazuya).

Musumi's husband range is too wipe. It can be anybody and we don't know much about her personality yet. I agree the chance of Souma taking the youngest son is higher than Musumi. he can take both, too.
Can't wait for Volume 09 in 3 more months. I think we need some family time in vol 10
Yes, from all this warfare, politics, and building, we should need a scene where Souma and the others are spending their life as a family.
Even a King needs to spend his time with his family so their children can be raised properly.
I think we need some family time in vol 10
Well, on Author's "pixiv" page, there is a recent artworks of the map of "Nine Headed Dragon Archipelago Union" (which he released in Jan 2019); and an artwork of animal/beast, which looks like a dragon with a turtle shell on its back and octopus tentacles with crab claws (which he released in Dec 2018).
Not sure if it has any relation to the LN or not.
Maybe its for a WN plot, or could be a something related to what's going to be covered in LN Volume 10.

Not sure, but this Volume contained the enlarged Map for the Eastern Union, rather than Freidonia's (before it was Elfrieden & Amidonia), which the LN have been focusing on since the start.
And on the Eastern Union map, there is a new area named "Marumukitan" (the green marked one; Chima is the yellow one, and Lastania is the orangish one), so i guess they might be from there.

So, that fumi han guy is from some tiny ass kingdom in the middle of nowhere??Lol, Musumi has some good criteria for a fiance. Based on the illus, that Fumi Han guy looks like a douche, though looks can be deceiving
@Najp I'd say let him try and feel how sad it is to be both politically and military outmaneuvered by Souma lol.

Well comparatively, Marumukitan(?) is bigger in size compared to both Chima and Lastania (based on the map, its almost 2-3 times as big as them). So i wouldn't be surprised if Marumukitan(?) was actually one of the most powerful nations under the Eastern Union.
So, Mutsumi picking a country which is close to her own nation and is possibly also strong isn't that bad of a decision. And, since Ichiha is already going to Freidonia, there isn't a problem of connection for 'Duchy of Chima' with the Kingdom.
By the way, i am a bit worried what Kazuya plans to make Ichiha do. Hope he doesn't turn him into a Mangaka or something similar in the end.

Still tiny though, i doubt Fumi Han's kingdom could muster something above 20k troops and that's still far from the entire Souma's reinforcement army and in term of armies quality i doubt it's anywhere close to Friedonia with all the technology upgrades . How about in term of achievement?? Souma beats any kings in the continent for being able to annex Amidonia in a very short time, even though Amidonia was dying at that time but still. Were Mutsumi requirements for Fiance to be someone strong physically , that Fumi Han would be alright but for someone to make the world tremble, that's clearly Souma.
Yeah, i doubt Souma would use Ichiha's talent for just to be a mangaka. Maybe weapon designer??

I would think the Duke would try to marry off his eldest daughter to a more powerful country to get more powerful connection. Between Souma and this Fumi guy then it's clear who would be a better choice. But if Souma rejected the marriage proposal from the Duke then I guess it makes sense to marry her to a country that is closer. Although Fumi's kingdom is disappointingly smaller than expected. It just feels like marrying her off to that Kingdom doesn't wield that much advantages in war potential against the Demons.

^Exactly this
Though it can't be helped if Souma rejects the marriage proposal with Mutsumi. Well, of all the kingdoms in the continent, that Fumi han's kingdom is quite reliable for Chima dutchy, even though not as reliable as Friedonia. Funnily, if you think about it both Fumi han and his kingdom are merely just a cheap discount of Souma and Friedonia lol
You both are forgetting one point.
During the conversation between Maria and Kazuya in Volume 08, Maria clearly informed about the kind of deal the Duke of Chima was making in return for the help.
As per the deal, Duke of Chima offered to allow any Kingdom/Nation who have sent reinforcement and had performed well, to take one of his 6 children (out of 7, minus Ichiha) as their Retainer.
In a way, be it for Retainer or Marriage Partner, it is sort of like a bidding system (based on performance) that the Duke of Chima had created for his children. So, a Kingdom/Nation with the best performance is allowed to bid on the choice of children they want as their Retainer/Marriage Partner.
So, even if Kazuya had made a big contribution, unless he himself bids for Mutsumi, he can't take her as his retainer or wife. Also, because of the way the Duke of Chima had offered the deal, he himself can't sell Mutsumi out to Kazuya either (even though Freidonia is possibly more powerful), since the other Kingdom/Nation who had come to help 'Duchy of Chima' won't like it as they are also primarily after her.
My guess, Kazuya only bids for Ichiha in this situation, even if he isn't part of the 6 children's under the offer.

Kazuya will pick Ichiha. He already established a trend of getting people with seemingly useless talents (to most people) and put them in a position to contribute.
Kazuya will pick Ichiha.
He does picks him, since with my limited reading knowledge, i was searching through the raws to get the Kana's for Kazuya's children names in the chapter Liscia returns (last chapter, Epilogue 2), and i did read Ichiha's name in it, meaning he is in Freidonia at the end of Volume 09.

If you don’t mind, can someone tell me where in volume 3 are these two women introduced?
Margarita Wanda
A human woman that became a 『Singer』 from her previous position of a general in Amidonia Dukedom. With her courage tempered in the army that won’t lose to any men, she was the pillar of newly born Friedonia show-biz
Serina
The chief maid of the chambermaid corps. She looked 20 years old but she was actually a SS-maid[10] with unknown age. As a maid working under Liscia, she was really capable, but she held a bad habit of “teasing” cute girls (not of ill-will, but since she fond of inducing their shyness). Currently, she had bookmarked Carla as her favourite.

As per the WN, she ends up marrying Poncho (https://genkoku.fandom.com/wiki/Poncho_Panacotta) (the fat guy, who handles all the food and stuff) along with Komain (https://genkoku.fandom.com/wiki/Komain).

Serina is definitely an S, but she mostly enjoys “bullying” cute but strong-willed girl.
Poncho is meek, clumsy, but the best way to a maiden’s heart like Serina is via her stomach :p
I’m talking about food of course :heh:
Poncho can conquer them with food but he can't do anything much if Serina and Komain are messing with each other. The only way to calm them is to give them food.
Poncho can conquer them with food but he can't do anything much if Serina and Komain are messing with each other.
But the thing is both Serina and Komain don't mess with each other, because they both have the common goal of protecting Poncho, and his food.

Yeah, but considering their positions, it would be very unlikely until the end of story :heh:, especially Jeanne since she's currently the first in line for the throne in the Empire.
Unless, Hakuya got poached from the Kingdom to the Empire, I'm pretty sure Maria would welcome him with open arm as her little brother-in-law :p

My guess would be that, Lunaria might do something which could temporary cause the fall of the Empire; and Maria, Jeanne and their 3rd sister end up taking refuge in Freidonia.
Kazuya ends up saving the Empire, and combining it with Freidonia.

and become his next wife or..... maria's husbando ^^? :heehee::blush:
Well I think that Maria is very likely to become of the one of Souma wifes. I remember that Liscia said that she will allow other 7 girls to become Souma wifes since there is 8 days in a week in their world. So far, Souma have currently 5 wives:
1) Liscia
2) Aisha
3) Roroa
4) Juna
5) Naden
So there 3 more, so I think that Maria is probably the number 7 or 6 since before that happen they to merge the Grand Chaos Empire with Freidonia but that can happen since 40% of the Grand Chaos Empire population are of the Lunaria religion so is possible to make a Civil War.
I think apart that Maria the other 2 won't be human. And the last one will be a demoness to make peace with the demons.

Well Maria did entice Hakuya to come to the empire by offering Jeanne. Even saying she will abdicate as Queen and give the position to her Jeanne is Hakuya marries her but Hakuya refused and asked for Jeanne to come to Friedonia instead. Jeanne got embarassed by their talks :heh:

I too think something will happen in the Empire that would force them to seek help from Souma. Although it would be difficult to merge both Friedonia and the Gran Chaos Empire when the two are separated by three other territories. But then again both Friendonia and the Empire are getting friendly with the Republic of Turgis so the merging could be done if they include Turgis in it.

Or maybe get the Mercenary State Zem. IIRC, up until now we didn't get any info about the country apart from the basic things on vol. 1 (being founded by mercenaries IIRC). I believe we have more information from the demons and their country than from the mercenaries.

From the looks of it, i think the enthronement should occur around end of Volume 10 or Volume 11.
I think in the WN, there is supposed to be an arc revolving around "Nine Headed Dragon Archipelago Union" before the marriage and enthronement (there are rough artworks relating to the union on author's "pixiv" account (https://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=3543620)).
By the way, we should be possibly getting confirmation on Volume 10 around this month (if we follow release pattern), with the cover art being revealed around first week of next month.

Manga has some differences. I thought Castor got irritated because of his people saw it on public during Souma's last warning and cause some riot. In the manga it's not telling that.

東方諸国連合から帰還して一息ついたソーマに、戴冠式と婚礼の儀が近づいていた。暫定国王のソーマが、つい に真の国王となる時がやってくる――。革新的な異世界内政ファンタジー、第10巻!Seems like the "Wedding and Coronation" would be done in this volume
Edit: On a different note, considering that "Wedding and Coronation" would be done in LN "v10", and the fact that the Web Novel changed its name from "Genjitsu Shugi Yūsha no Oukoku Kaizōki" to "Genjitsu Shugi Yūsha no Taikoku Kenzōki" after Kazuya's Wedding and Coronation.
Is it possible that the LN might change its title as well, and continue as a Sequel series from "v11" onward (meaning "v11" would become the "v01" under a new title).
Expected English E-Book Release Date for "LN Volume 09" by J-Novel is July 20th, 2019.

Excellent volume as always. A threat looms in the horizon aside from the Demon Lord Domain. Fuuga threw caution to the wind enough for a lot of people to start preparing for things that may or may not come. The oracle from Lunaria supports that he'll be a big shot but whether it does good or bad for the world is the unknown.
The second half of the volume was much more enjoyable since it focused more on the reforms and fun developments rather than the doom and gloom of the world. Friedonia is becoming a dumping ground for VIPs of different countries lol. The eccentric genius inventors/researchers increase and I feel bad for their caretakers. Serina and Excel is the most dangerous combo. And finally seeing the children is really nice. From the childbirth to even the naming. It's heartwarming. Liscia's been missing these past volumes so I'm glad she's finally back. Time for the wedding and coronation.

Trill, the youngest sister Euphoria, is a mad scientist herself too, she is a fan of Genia's family, she read all their publications and because during her investigations she is always causing explosions Maria sent her to the kingdom to cause the explosions there instead of the imperial palace in volume 9, since then they spent their time being mad scientist together.
