I apologize in advance if the question I ask is inappropriate. Does anyone know what happened to the gotwoot site? I tried visiting it and it seemed the page was taken down, and possibly moved. I would appreciate a helpful answer.

I think It depends on where you are in the world.

At work, we saw a lot of DDoS attacks and SYN flood on the networks today. It may contribute to some delay. Our traffic was sooo slow that I could not reach gotwoot either until traffic died down a few hours later.

The page still loads fine for me, even after I cleared my whole cache. Their recent news says that they'd resolved certain IP blocks to their site. Maybe the problem has come back.

Yeah, I'm getting the same thing.

Its a shame ANBU dont keep a full list of their torrents on their site :(

A whois of gotwoot.net

Domain Name: GOTWOOT.NET
Registrar: GO DADDY SOFTWARE, INC.
Whois Server: whois.godaddy.com
Referral URL: http://registrar.godaddy.com
Name Server: PARK17.SECURESERVER.NET
Name Server: PARK18.SECURESERVER.NET
Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK
Updated Date: 21-jun-2004
Creation Date: 11-jun-2002
Expiration Date: 11-jun-2005

On the specific registrar whois, it lists the DNS servers as:
Domain servers in listed order:
NS1.TITANSOLUTIONS.NET
NS2.TITANSOLUTIONS.NET

I'm thinking either gotwoot.net didn't renew the domain from the 2 year interval, and the DNS servers got updated. Upon noticing this, gotwoot renewed, and the DNS servers are reflected back at their registrar, but hasn't propagated back to the gtld-servers.

Another scenario is that gotwoot.net has shut down, but I'm thinking/hoping this isn't the case.

I queried NS1.TITANSOLUTIONS.NET and put these values in my hosts file :)

69.56.158.158 forums.gotwoot.net
69.56.211.107 www.gotwoot.net gotwoot.net

Now I can access the site and its forums again.

More digging: whois query yields:

Domain Name: GOTWOOT.NET
Created on: 11-Jun-02
Expires on: 11-Jun-04
Last Updated on: 08-Sep-03

whois query on the web direct on godaddy.com:

Domain Name: GOTWOOT.NET
Created on: 11-Jun-02
Expires on: 11-Jun-06
Last Updated on:

Looks like gotwoot.net didn't renew in time, and domain requires some DNS propagation to rectify the problem at hand.

As Ciber has some problems accessing his registration email for this forum while the DNS is still propagating he asked me to relay this message to you :)

Basically the gotwoot.net and gotwoot.com domains were in separate godaddy accounts instead of my "master" account which houses most of our domains, because of this the gotwoot domains were on a old credit card from back in 2002 which has obviously expired which caused the domains to not be renewed.
Yes, we were emailed about the expirations, but no one ever checks that email account. The gotwoot domains are now on my "master" account and renewed.

You should have access to the sites again as soon as your provider's dns servers update their records. Sorry for the inconvenience. Blame WILIK!

My hosts file now has another entry

69.56.158.158 forums.gotwoot.net
69.56.211.107 www.gotwoot.net gotwoot.net tracker.gotwoot.net

I run my own DNS server, so I can restart it if need be, however, it's not a matter of our DNS servers getting the updates. It appears godaddy.com needs to propagate the DNS servers back to

Domain servers in listed order:
NS1.TITANSOLUTIONS.NET
NS2.TITANSOLUTIONS.NET

The global name servers for .com and .net still have not been updated to point away from park*.secureserver.net

Well if their DNS isn't set up properly then nothing will resolve either.

Wait and see if they fix their DNS, or if they change the domain name altogether.

(personally I was hoping it was Geneon dishing out the smackdown to them for listing the fansubs of series they've long since announced as licensed.)

gotwoot.net DNS servers looks to have been straightened out and are back to what they were at the gtld-servers. Now it's a matter of propagating these changes to the various ISP's DNS servers. It's all fine for me now.

root
2004-06-23, 03:49
It's not a updating the drivers. For some strange reason, windows has the typically /etc/hosts in %windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts If you were going to update it, you edit it with something like notepad. You shouldn't need to do this anymore as gotwoot.net problem should be fixed and it is now a matter of DNS propagation.

Um.. How do you update your drivers files? Do you just click it..? Someone help me please? Thanks. ^^

It was fine for me, then I had to restart my computer because the torrents froze up and wouldn't end.

Now, it goes to that Coming Soon! site..

Bah, for me it seems like an once-a-day type deal thing. Any ideas on how to fix this?
