In for 6000th post
lol
that aside, just saw the GFF X-3 I'm missing, but damn I need to manage my finances so it will have to wait until the weekend >_<
I have a modeling question. How does one go about panel lining over a painted surface? I usually clean up panel lines by rubbing with tissue or scraping with a toothpick, but if the surface is already painted, wouldn't I destroy the coat of paint?
not sure about painted surface, i saw it some where suggesting using erasers

You should also be aware that the Sword Pack is compatible with the HG Strike if you mod the pack slightly. Instructions for doing so are included though.
So they require a bit of modification to be compatible with the HG Strike? Fair enough. I can't wait for the MG Launcher/Sword Strike, so I'm willing to get all three Strikers in 1/144 just to compensate with it. ^_^;
lol, just finished separating the pieces of the PG Skygrasper from the runners and packed it in a box along the RX-78-2 OYW. Guess this puny plane will be the last thing I will have the motivation to work on -_-
How would you know which parts are which? :twitch: LOL!
for the NG Sword pack into HG Strike, you need to replace the left shoulder with the sword pack if you see carefully....

Weird, red? That's a weird choice of color...
And the red Action Base, just as planned :p

As I have done with the rest of the models, I separate the pieces in little plastic bags according to the parts they form (head, torso, waist, right lef, right arm, etc). It is quite easy to recognize them :D

to all unicorn owners:
kinda curious, did some of you paint the red clear partsor did you leave it as it is?
i saw in dengeki hobby, they used a different paintjob for it.

Smart! =D It would've been chaotic if you just put the parts in a box. XD

This March at MMC we're having our "Federation vs. Zeon" model contest. You can enter mobile suits our other ships or vehicle from Gundam's "Universal Century" timeline - just about anything that is clearly associated with either the Earth Federation or the Principality of Zeon (including Titans, Neo Zeon, Londo Bell, etc.) As part of your entry you declare which side you're entering on - either Federation or Zeon.
The contest will be split into two stages: the first stage pits entries from Federation against entries from Zeon until one side is eliminated. In this way we will settle, once and for all, the question of which side is "better". The second stage picks out the contest winners from the entries that made it past the first stage (the "survivors").
Some of us at MMC want to encourage entrants to support our favorite sides in this contest: so we're offering bounties, model kits awarded at random to one of the "survivors", depending on which side wins.
If Zeon wins, I'm offering a MG Kampfer to a randomly-selected "survivor".
If the Federation wins, a MG Groundtype Gundam (RX-79G) is being offered.
Additionally, there will be a random drawing among all entries in the March contest for an Iwata airbrush.
More prizes may be announced as the event approaches.
So if you're interested in helping determine the outcome, want to buck for a prize, or just feel like entering a Gundam model contest, we encourage you to enter the contest during the month of March.
The contest is on, check it out here: http://www.mechamodelcomp.com/
Some cool prizes are going to be given away too....

If you really can't wait, you can check out my blog here, http://animangatron.blogspot.com/2006/11/i-build-gundams-no-seriously-i-dowell.html and divulge in my 1/144 Strike packs in use. I went so crazy as to get two of the Sword packs, one for my Dagger and one for my Strike :heh: Just so you know, the only things you need to do with the FG 1/144 packs is just cut 2-3 little stubs sticking out of within the respective shoulder packs. Can use a kindergarten scissor for that lol.
Man, I miss my collection. Been two years already since I've seen it. What I'm worried about is my most prized possesion, the HG 1/144 Sword Calamity/Limited Edition Sword parts that I accidentaly made into another Astray variation (first Sword Calamity was red, for the life of me I painted it blue and then realized it was supposed to be red). One jump into mahq.net changed my life and I stuck with the blue :heh: You can see it in the picture.
By the way, to answer a potential question, yes, that big grey-red Zaku II is the Perfect Grade one, painted after my horiffic revelation of the pinky colors. I then had this crazy thought of doing a phase-down version in line with the GAT series.... :heh:

That's one superb collection, dude. I like what you did to your PG Zaku; very interesting color scheme. =) Are all your models painted? I can't really tell just by looking at those pics. I only paint mine partially(sections that aren't molded in their right color), with the addition of panel lining. :heh:
And one more question: About your Dendrobium and Nueu Ziel, are those the 1/550 that are sold separately, or the 1/400 that are packed together? Either way, they look amazing. I just gotta figure out which one to get. :heh:

The 1/100 is not a bad kit. Compared to the 1/144, it doesn't require a lot of painting. The katana, however, requires tremendous amount of painting. >_>

Thanks, the only ones that were heavily painted were the ones that had special occasions for them, ie the Dendrobium (an entirely white kit lol), the PG Zaku (didn't like the pink), HG 1/144 Aegis (pink as well :frustrated: ) wait that emote is pink oh noe lol, HG 1/144 Sword Calamity (wanted to put the Sword kit to good MSV use), 1/100 Strike Freedom (bad contest choice I did lol), and the three druggies, Calamity, Raider and Forbidden (which all 3, oddly enough had mostly one color to their parts). The rest I did as you said, painted the sections that weren't molded in their respective color. What also makes my Sword Calamity special is that I didn't use Gundam markers, I used a mix of Enamel and water based paints. PG Zaku was spray painted with a graffiti style paint :heh:

Yes, the Dendrobium and Neue Ziel are the HG Mechanics 1/550 models. I sure wished my 1/144 Dendrobium was in that pic, that kit mysteriously vanished in the mail shortly after posting my blog post, and that's one investment I may never see again :( of course, that all happened while I was not home, so here's hoping the management for my apartment have it in their office somewhere :)
I do like that both of those 1/550 models come with their own special display stand. I would've sued bandai if they hadn't included them :heh: :heh: :heh:

I see, have looked a bit around the web, seems to be even much better than some old MG's lol. Frankly I don't mind doing the paintjob it requires. First I was thinking grabbing the Exia but I'm still hoping for the MG release soon and heck, the Astraea is coming out soon.
Guess the Red Astray grabbed my attention for its sword and capacity to do a wannabe Sanger pose lol :D Now I just hope the store in which I saw one still has it or I'm screwed >_< (I'm so blaming my sorry ass for not getting it when I had the chance)

LOL, so the Dendrobuim is basically molded in white, huh? More painting for me then, as I plan to get this kit along with Nueu Ziel. XD I, too, don't use Gundam markers(or any other markers for that matter) when it comes to panel lining. I use a flat acrylic based paint heavily thinned with Windex. XD I think "wash method" is what they call it.
Yes, the Dendrobium and Neue Ziel are the HG Mechanics 1/550 models. Aww, man, someone stole your 1/144 Dendrobium? That's horrible! =( Hopefully, your apartment manager has it somewhere safe. That's a heavy loss considering its price. I'm trying to save up so I can buy this kit, but with all these new models coming out, I don't think I'll have the will to continue on saving. :heh: So for now, I guess I'll just get the 1/550 ones.
I see, have looked a bit around the web, seems to be even much better than some old MG's lol. Frankly I don't mind doing the paintjob it requires. First I was thinking grabbing the Exia but I'm still hoping for the MG release soon and heck, the Astraea is coming out soon.

Go for it! =D Get your sorry ass outta the couch and get that kit ASAP! XD LOL! As for the Exia, I'll say wait for the MG. I'm pretty sure Bandai's working on it. =)

Looking at the picture, are those headers pointing at the hair or the GN Drive? If it's pointing at the hair, does it say what its made of? Very interesting indeed; with Plutone's weapons included, you can't go wrong with this kit. Can't wait. :)

I think they're pointing at the hairs :heh:
On second look though after browsing through some Plutone images... they're not actually Plutone's weapons at all, but weapons that just look similar. They're completely new for this Nadleeh though...
Here's a Plutone image showing off its weapons, as you can see they're not the same (http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/EpS_01/DHM%20Mar%202008/File%204%20Gundam%20Plutone/Plutone_008.jpg)

It says the hair will be made of more flexible material, namely PTE, which will allow it to fuction more like a coat and thus the turning of the head will not be burden by the hair.
The addtion of the weapons is a nice gimmick. But I will be grateful if Sunrise will show them in action before the planned destruction of Nadleeh.

That's good to hear. If it is going to be as flexible as what they say, there won't be a need for a hair modification then. :heh:

I sure hope so, too. They are releasing the GN-Arms in accordance to its debut on the show. Hopefully, they can do same to Nadleeh.

Now after seeing the Trans-Am Exia in episode 22, I wonder why we don't get a full red color Exia in the GN Arms...
It's explained that the GN-ARMS act as a giant TD Blanket for the Trans-Am Exia to protect the pilot.
Of course, with the price of anything oil related (paint included) rising, it's another part of cost saving measure for Bandai.
Isn't it still the same? Ali customizes it?
Please. Looking at how he is, he will spend an episode repainting the Zwei in his colours. Too good a chance to miss for Bandai to re-release another version of the Zwei.

That's not a bad price. Of course, you can find a cheaper price than that; GSaM, for example, has it for $16.99, but it depends on the shipping whether you can save a little on the prices.
Does anyone know if $18 is too much for a 1/144 Kyrios?
I dunno, I got one for $10.
then again I didn't have to worry about shipping costs...um, yeah, $15 to $20-ish is probably reasonable.

Wow, that's cheap. Where did you get yours? Since shipping was unnecessary like you said, I'm guessing you got it from a store? I got my first one from HLJ, and it was about $15. My second one, which I got from GSaM was about $17.

Can't imagine the HG 1/144 going for anything below US$15.
Yeah, I was talking about the HG one.

Knowing Bandai's "smart" marketing strategy, it's highly possible. That'll be my fourth Exia should they release it... Fifth, actually, if I get my hands on a GN-Arms. Damn you, Bandai! Must you drain my wallet of its humble contents!? XD

I really want one red Trans-Am Exia.
And that also increases the chance of a MG Exia since it can be reused :D
That's what I was thinking. They'd get their uses out of an MG Exia with all these additions they keep doing. And since Transam is something all the original Gundams should be capable of, they've got more uses out of the others as well. Maybe an MG Kyrios might not be such a dream (I can hope).
Also it's a way round the new suit problem for the original suits. Since the GN Drives are limited, so are the new suit options. You'd have to rip the GN Drive out of one to make another so by having stuff like Transam you have new model options :P
I reckon we'll see a MG Exia with Trans AM mode . They'll probably do something similiar to Unicorn Gundam .
I doubt they'd do that since Unicorn is a tranformation, but to convert Exia over to Transam mode would require replacing parts. Some of which would be built into the frame and would have to be taken apart to change.

Meh, we all know it'll take 2 years or so before it'll be released.
I am hating bandai now. seens like they are trying to juice out as much money as they can from 00.
overflag, Graham custom with a different rifle
trinity team is screwed that means new series or team of gundam may come out
GN arms are compatible with other gundams in the series, but seems like it wont for the HGs. since GN arms came with a special exia
ppl are predicting trans-am exia
What else will they do !!!
PS: with this kind of product progress, the MG Exia will probably come out really soon

I'd rather wait for this one instead of the Overflag. Honestly, those pesky wings are annoying as crap; they get in the way when I try to make cool poses. =/
not to mention the mass variant of Zaku II which is a overdue as of now.....
They're just getting started. We've yet to see version 2.0 of a Shin Matsunaga custom, as well as a Johnny Ridden custom. And if I'm not mistaken, they'll probably release uglier variations of the Zaku, like the Zaku Cannon and whatnot.
The Exia on the HG GN Arms will have the Trans Am red veins, though asides from that it'll be the standard color Exia.
It was also mentioned that this Exia will have a "gattai configuration," which could be a unique feature necessary for docking the GN-Arms.
It's not like they'd finished installing the GN Drive onto the Flag. The wings might be going back on yet.

Isn't the GN Drive responsible for the mobile suits' atmospheric flight? If so, I don't see why they need to put the Flag's wings back.

Doesn't mean that the Flag would go well without it's wings on. It'd be a totally different suit without it's wings since it completely changes the shape of the suit. It'd make more sense to put them back on if only to maintain the Flag's shape so that the suit's balance isn't changed. Better to put it back how it was as much as possible so that Graham has less adjustments to make to how it flies.

I see; that does make sense. Seeing how the Flag's aerodynamic relies heavily on its wings, it would indeed be a bad idea to remove its wings in favor of the GN Drive. And now, I wonder how the Flag will handle its transformation now that a bulky GN Drive is installed on its back?
Wow, that's cheap. Where did you get yours? Since shipping was unnecessary like you said, I'm guessing you got it from a store? I got my first one from HLJ, and it was about $15. My second one, which I got from GSaM was about $17.
Wow, that's cheap! The $18 I was talking about was from my local hobby store, so no shipping costs. How did you get yours so cheap?

Who needs to fly when you can float?
I'd be sad to see the wings go, but the flag's upper torso doesn't really switch directions when it transforsm, so it doesn't really make a difference what kind of engine you slap on it's back.

I'm not getting that bad of a model whoring vibe from Bandai in 00 ... yet. Seed Destiny I think was about the worst I've ever seen model whoring, honestly.
At least within the construct of the story, it makes SENSE why there is the Overflag and Graham wanting to outfit a GN drive to one, etc. And besides that each power bloc only has the single MS model it seems, unlike previous series where they had lots of variants.
Now assuming they are probably going to release kits based on the Gundams from the 00P/00F mangas, then that is model whoring ;D
cleaning my room today and discovered all the HG box already stack up about 3 feet. Saw the pre-order of Drei and Nadleeh on HLJ not as hyped as before, I guess episode 22 just ruined the 00 vibe for me bah...:heh:

Seed was kind bad too. Strike, Allie Strike, Sowrd Strike, Launcher Strike... but at least aegis, duel... have different structures. but all 4 CB gundam has similar structures, same with Throne, not to mention about flags and tierens. I built most of the HGs but feels like only built 4 so far...

It'd definately be better if they alternated between the endless alternate versions of MG's already out and new ones. At the minute it's endless alternate versions. I'm out of models to buy. Once the last 3 arrive I have nothing to do once they're built :(

It's not like they're not working on some new ones; I'm pretty sure there are plenty of teams within Bandai that are working concurrently to produce new and "milked" kits at the same time. As far as progress go, it's probably real slow when it comes to newer kits. So give 'em a little time, and enjoy these variations while we wait on the new ones.

I first built the Exia, then I decided it looks quite bland, so I decided to customise it. All the red parts have been sprayed black, save the chin. Also, two of the GN sabres, the 2 GN blades, and the blade and handgun of the GN shield/gun have been sprayed black. The previously mentioned blade has been left without top coat, so it looks shiny. The GN drive, from the front has been sprayed black, because the previously present green sticker and clear plastic looked amateurish. The GN drive at the back has some silver specks (done with a quick spray with silver) to give the impression GN particles are being emitted :). Posing is limited because one of the leg joints fall apart whenever I move it :(. Oh yeah, I lost the side torso plates ( I wasn't even aware till I looked at some pretty Exia model pics, bah I'm ignorant)

Dynames was fun to build :D. Not much customisation yet, due to IB. Green parts sprayed with British Green, whole model top coated. GN drive from the front, like Exia, has been sprayed black instead of a shiny green sticker (eww). If you can see, the pistol holsters are black with silver. I accidentally made that when the silver ran out when I was spraying them, so I covered them with black (I love 'em, btw). Posing is great, as you can see. Btw, some dude mentioned back several pages the GN sabres fall out of the ass vent slots. Mine fit fine.
These two are the first kits that I've built in a long time (I built a 2 others before, just snipped and snapped together, I threw them away), and I think I did a fine job. Now for Kyrios and Virtue/Nadleeh :)
Saw the boxart, type-E probably represents type-Exia or something.

As you can see the Type-E GN-ARMS had some melee weapons (Blades + Claws) from the promo shots of it.
The Dynames (Type-D) GN-ARMS should have some range weaponary (Cannon + Launcher) in this case.
Bandai is still hush-hush on this case, but this is from a insider info (type97, for those who know their Gunpla info source) , so take heed if range weponary is your thing and skip the Type-E GN-ARMS.

It means "High Grade" opposed to the other 1/144 FG or "First Grade" Because they have more parts and better detail with color than the first grades.

Gunpla usually have 1/144, 1/100 and 1/60 scale
1/144:
FG - First Grade - not much paint job done on them, really easy to assemble (under 10 USD)
HG - High Grade - more detailed, more paint job done more parts than FG (around 15 USD, expensive ones are 40 max )
1/100:
MG - Master Grade - much more detailed than HG, has it's own skeleton, cockpit. (usually above 40 USD, some of them are close or over 100 Hi-Nu/Sazani/EX)
1/100 - larger version of High Grade, got a bit more parts than HG (above 20 USD)
1/60:
PG - Perfect Grade - never built PG myself, but from what i've seen it is much much more detailed than MG, some of them came with internal LEDs. (over 100 USD)

I've had the 1/100 Freedom Gundam kit sitting in its box in my closet for 4 years now, and the other night I finally decide to put it together, and notice it says I need an X-acto or cutters which I don't have DOH! :)
Hopefully it's not another 4 years for me to buy one to do it now ;D

I've never made one before, I only bought that one :) None of the other mobile suits in SEED interested me very much besides the original Freedom Gundam. Didn't care for the 2nd Freedom in Destiny, and AFAIK they never made a model for the Dom in Destiny, which is the only other one I would have wanted :( Is it bc it's identical to the Dom from UC?
I had just heard that the non-MG/PG ones could be snapped together. Or do I need glue for the 1/100?
For 00 so far I like the Flag and Exia, but don't really care for any of the others atm.

yeah actually they did make a 1/144 destiny Dom and its pretty cool if i do say so myself. Its not identical. somethings are different.
check it out http://www.dalong.net/review/seed.htm
you dont need glue for any kit unless you make a mistake or want more stability. if you just want to assemble straight out of the box, you dont need much. actually in the beginning all i used was a pair of nail clippers and an exacto knife and the knife was optional!

Is there anything I can do about loose joints on my model kits? Some of my older models have loose joints and I can't pose them right. Heavyarms Custom, for example, can't hold up his gatling guns.
You mean that their bending is comprimised (If you try and pose it, it flops back down yeah?), right? Take that joint apart, get a small ball of blu-tack, squash it between fingers until its quite flat, and place it over the "female" slots, both of them (Don't push it in, let the male slot piece do it). Then put back the male slot piece back on and place together. Mind you, it holds for a limited time, less if you use the joint a lot or put heavy shit for it to support, so reapply constantly. Hope it helps, and I'll try and get some pix if you need.

Well, if its grey is that dark, then it's fine to me as Destiny was indeed darker in the series than the HG kit may suggest with its appearance. Same with HG Legend whose shade is much MUCH lighter than on TV.

Most main suits from an animated Gundam series has gotten the MG treatment for the excepts of V/V2, X/DX and Wing/Wing Zero (TV). So chances are that Exia will get the MG treatment.
As for the 1/100 Flag, I'm pretty sure Bandai will release all of its variants because some suckers (like me) will buy all of them LOL.

My bro just bought the 1:100 Scale Gundam Kyrios... By the grapes, the model is freaking huge.... even larger than 1:100 Exia... Can't imagine how massive Virtue will be.
My lists of bought Gundam 00 models w/ comments:
-HG Graham's Union Flag(My first 00 model, but crap it can't hold it's rifle well and it can't even hold the plasma blade.... Shame)
-HG Dynames (My second model and, i gotta say, it's cool... The sniper eye gimmick is truly a remarkable feature to be integrated into a HG model. Drawback: No GN Pistols... Uwaaaah:()
-HG Kyrios (Cool model, but the wings at the knee makes the Gundam look... odd. As for the transformation.... By far the simplest Gundam-> MA transformation i've seen. Looks elongated when transformed though...:heh:)
-1:100 Exia (Looks decent, but the weapons are awesome! However, due to the design of the hips, the legs' vertical movement is limited... You can't pose the Exia kneeling:twitch:)
-1:100 Kyrios (Quite huge... Never expected Kyrios to be bulky. One improvement, no "disintegrations" needed in order to transform Kyrios to Flight mode and it looks way better than the HG version when transformed.)
One note to add: If you own the HG Kyrios, you'll find that there are hardpoints behind it's legs... My guess is that it's for the multi-purpose container thingy....:twitch: Any opinions? I can't find any container hardpoints for the 1:100 version... but I may be wrong.

Personally, I think the concept of the GN ARMS, a giant exterior armored suit to which a gundam attaches itself, is even more ridiculous than the idea of mobile suits to begin with. Actually it is both things you're saying.
The GN Arms is an independent weapons platform as shown in episode 21 and 22 capable of fighting by itself. However, in needs a Gundam's GN Drive to power it for longer operations, which is why the Gundam attaches itself - to provide power for the GN Arms energy-hungry weapons.

It's a tradition of badass-ness. Though we understand its impracticality, we can't deny the fact that doing these kinda stuff makes the show really badass. Bigger + badder = totally badass!(well, most of the time :heh: )
this thing seems pretty big... but I'm still with an eye open every weekend in case I see the 1/500 Dendrobium which frankly catches more my attention...
I got my 1/550 Dendrobium, along with 1/550 Nueu Ziel, two days ago. And to much of surprise, the majority of the kit is molded in white. Not only that, but also the small figures that comes with it aren't molded in colors. Horrible! :( But oh well, it's still a decent kit, nevertheless. But if you can get the 1/400s instead of these, then go for it. They're slightly bigger, more detailed, and the small figures are actually molded in color! =O They cost almost an arm and a leg, however... Oh, and check dalong; he recently reviewed both models.
EDIT: Salamat for the high-def pic, Lowe. I thought the other GN-Arms was just a stand-alone unit; turns out it's the Type-D with Dynames on it! =O

These mods are nice =) I've been thinking really ahrd on how to get the back of exia to glow in a manner similar to the show as well ^^; Maybe next you can do the trans-am mode? :D
Personally, I think the concept of the GN ARMS, a giant exterior armored suit to which a gundam attaches itself, is even more ridiculous than the idea of mobile suits to begin with. I mean, why not just make a separate flying machine that has all those weapons? It's not as if the gundam is powering it.
remember meteor? G-defensor? G-falcon? a big flying unit attaching to the gundam is kinda like a tradition now, along with having emotionally unstable characters riding gundams ^^;
In terms on how realistic it is, in Seed it kinda makes sense, since gundams are the most mobile unit in the universe, give it a space use-only suit with extra thrusters as to not compromise too much in speed + some crazy missiles and lazors, and kill as many as possible (something that's impossible to do with the old freedom + justice) before ditching it and using the more manouverable core suit. Why not just create the unit in itself? I think it needs the power from the nucear reactors, similar to the GN-arms now
In Zeta it kinda makes sense as well, turns the Mk-II into a totally different use suit. Rather than using it for assault it's used for backup with big guns like Virtue. They never really explained where the power comes from but the thing does run out of juice quite quick so Ii'm guessing it comes from both units ^^; Dunno bout G-Falcon. Anyone cares to shed a light?
So it will depend on how sunrise choose to handle GN arms, it may seem realistic / not later in the show ^^;
ok, is it really 2 GN Arms in the show, r just one with different Equipment for different MS

If the boxart is any indication its two GN Arms and not simply different equipment. Though we'll find that out conclusively tomorrow.
If it is two GN Arms, maybe we can expect a "Type-D" HG GN Arms with Gundam Dynames in the future...

Now that you mention it it does look like a VF-19 with Sound Booster opened. Maybe I should colour it red.
And BTW, this is an OOB built. As standard with Bandai, the bigger they comes, the less you need to paint.

I heeded your warning, but got confused whether it's the 1/550 or the 1/400 that is molded in white... :heh: But nevertheless, I'm enjoying the kit; though that one piece in front of its I-field Generator is a pain to paint... :heh:

There was a discussion about this a while ago. It would seem that the Ptoleimos, if you look at it closely, carries four individual GN-Arms. Most likey, each Gundam has its own GN-Arms with a unique configuration for each suit. And so far in the show, it seems that only two are operational.

If the E in Type-E stands for Exia, then wouldn't the rest of the GN-Arms be Type-D for Dynames, Type-K for Kyrios, and Type-N for Nadleeh...? :heh:
As for the price, If I'm not mistaken, its about 5,2XX yen; around $50-60 bucks.

You know what I did with that? I just took a Marker with the thinnest diameter and wasted several grams of liquid on it :heh: Huge waste of resources, but I wanted little headache as possible (try reaching the deepest crevices, cracks and trenches on the parts and you'll know what I mean) :heh:
By the way, are you in the Phillipines? I think someone on this thread is/been to the Phillipines. I am having a fit finding Gundam00 model kits in my proximity (best I can find is a FG 1/144 Virtue at the Toy Kingdom at SM Megamall which I bought without hesitation :uhoh::heh: )

I rather let the picture of my OOB build speaks for itself.
Box of the kit is about the size of your 1/60 kit. The height of it is your average MG. The length of it, as mention earlier, is 25 cm. So all it all, treat it as a MG kit if you will.
Weigh the price aganist the kit and decide if you want it. If you do, it's a toss up between the Exia set or the Dynames set.

Uh, yeah.
I can see it fine, and judging by the appearance, it looks great.
But, I don't know it's loose ends just by looking at it. That's why someone like you, who owns it, gets to hold, can make the review and make an opinion on how you like it. I'll just assume that you think it's mediocre at best, maybe "good."
Anyways, the price seems fair, but the shipping makes me want to say "HELL NO!" at the moment. HLJ's shipping is near 40-50 bucks which is so not worth it.

Oh, and check dalong; he recently reviewed both models.
yeah, but the is quite pricey, even without the shipping >_<
anyways, passed down by the mall, got the Kotobukiya's SRX model kit for 35 bucks. Seems like the store is getting more and more SRW models, since first there was only Cybuster, soon the Wild duo arrived, later the 1/100 Alteisen and now the SRX and the Genpest Mk II.
Hope they get Teh Boss for some Zankantou funny shots with the rest of my kits lol

Make no mistake, it's a good kit if you like 'em huge. As far as I know, there's nothing loose from the platform, quite solid and all. And best thing about it, little to no painting required for the platform. I'm not going to say anything about the Exia as it's the same old HG Exia.
Besides, this will be a one-of-it's-kind kit that will see no appearance on a larger scale. If you are worry about shipping, try opting for snail mail or search out online dealers in parts of Asia like Hong Kong, Taiwan or Singapore where they are more likely to charge less for shipping.

Heh. I already have Dynames. In fact Exia's the only one I don't have (well Virtue's still in the post), but I'm waiting for the so coming MG. Although I might get Avalanche if the rumour is for real. It's just a pain only getting 1/100 as I find 1/144 too small for my liking as that means I miss out on some of my fav suits. Despite them destroying some the Thrones, I hope they will release them in 1/100 as I want them. Although I am tempted to get the GN Arms (and I mean both of them since I will muilti buy quite happily if I like it enough).

So far, there are three 00 Gundams I wish I had in 1/100. One is Dynames. The other one being still nonexistent official Zwei and Plutone.
Tell me, Terra, how much gunpla do you have? And another question - are you happy with the Dynames kit you have?
Errr, let's see.....
I think I have a 1/144 Deathsythe somewhere (don't ask me where)
1/100
Epyon
Blitz
Dual
Strike
Freedom
Justice
Impulse
X
Double X
Dynames
Kyrios
Virtue
Red Astray
Aegis
Saviour (in the post)
Yzak's custom Zaku
Lunamaria's custom Zaku
Rey's custom Zaku
1/60
Strike and Freedom I think
MG
Strike
Freedom
Nu
Hi-Nu (still building atm)
Metallic Sazabi (need to put most of the decals on that still)
Metallic Nu (needs building)
Unicorn (needs building)
PG
Zeta
Titans Gundam (can't remember what it's called)
I'm sure I have more but most of them are packed away since I built them whilst I was at uni and I don't have the space at home to have them out.
Most of them are straight builds. Only recently have I started to panel line. The Hi-Nu I'm building is being panel lined as I go. I'll probably go back and panel line the others at a later date. I know I want to do some custom paint jobs on some of the models, but that's for when I get my own place.
As for Dynames, definately needs panel lining, but I'm happy with it.

I get most of my kits from GSaM (http://www.gundamstoreandmore.com/). Prices are reasonable, as well as the shipping. The site is pretty organize, too. =)
I dont live in the US but http://www.hobbywave.com ship for 10$.
Hobbywave, if I'm not mistaken, is a Canada-based distributor, but they do ship to US, though. Prices are also reasonable, but that flat rate $10 shipping can sometimes be a disadvantage...

Wow, that's a lot of Gundam models, man!
And you are happy with Dynames. That's cool. I am used to panel-line just every kit. Even the few 1/144s I have.
One question, though:
Yzak's custom Zaku
I've never heard of one that is 1/100! Could you post some pics of it, please? Or maybe you've meant Dearka's Gunner Zaku?
As for the "Titan's Gundam", I think it is RX-178 Mk-II. I have one MG which I decalled with number 03 :)
I might be wrong. I am running off memory for most of them which is why I'm not sure on the full list.

Oh, sorry miss. Now that's interesting! First time encountering a lady with so many Model Kits, at least first time I am aware of such a person :)
I collect models only from my favorite Gundam series which so far is Zeta and SEED. I think I'll just skip my planned GM Sniper Custom purchase and focus on attaining Dynames.
I haven't seen the series with Zeta, the Titans, or Nu/Sazabi. Need to go kick the person who's supposed to be sending me them up the ass again. Tis a problem when you want to watch the UC series in order. But if I see a suit and really like it's design I'll buy it.
I've always been a fan of puzzles and doing stuff with my hands. Building models just is an extension of that. Always been good at learning by doing rather than reading it.

That's totally unlike me. Unless something doesn't have any meaning to me beside aestethics, I'm not so willing to invest any greater effort or, even more so, money. Same is with Gundam stuff. I have to really like the series/character to decide I'd start buying something. My thing about Dearka figures/Buster kits is a good example of that.
My collection:
Fix Figuration
- RX-78G0P4S Stamen + Weapon system
1/144
- Zaku Phantom Dearka Custom
- Gouf Ignited Heine Custom
1/100
Blitz
Buster
Duel
Strike
Providence
Destiny
Sword Impulse
Zaku Warrior
MG
Hyaku Shiki
RX-178 Mk-II Titan colors
Strike Noir
A small one, comparing to yours :D

Tomboy, you say... maybe you liked Cagalli from CE, then. Haven't you thought about buying Akatsuki or Strike Rouge maybe? :)

The only spare figure (thre one without a gunpla "partner") I am having at the moment is Cagalli's one. Thinking about buying a MG Strike Rouge hence I already have Hyaku Shiki and I don't feel lije buying another gold-plated model :)

hahahaha, i know, i've been building Gunpla since 06, when I was in China I had few MGs, I've done few HGs in Canada ( stargazer and 00) Building gunpla it's like a quiet time for me, I usuaully let anime run in the computer and build my gundam hehehe, called local store today, gonna go pick up a GP-03 :P You should look into some of the MGs from the old series MKII-Titan, GP-01/02/03....I need save up money for a MSA-0011 Ex - S
I've been building really since Seed. But the Wing models I have came much earlier. But it's only those 2.

Sir Dearka, I think you really need to change the way you choose which models you get. So what if you haven't seen the series in which a particular MS is in, if you like the design, then that should be enough. For instance, I myself have seen maybe a couple episodes of X, yet I love pratically every Gundam design from the series. Just because you haven't seen the series, doesn't mean you can't appreciate a good mecha design.
Oh, and regarding the EX-S...it was never in an animated series
Sir Dearka
2008-03-15, 16:35
Oh, and regarding the EX-S...it was never in an animated series
Oh, I see. It's a gorgeous model kit.
As for changing the way I choose models... nah... I already have too much gunpla for my tastes so I happen to be careful in my choices. Among those I am familiar with there are enough great designs already. Like the forementioned Zeta MGs, SEED or Destiny, and recently 00. Buying all those I like'd take lots of money, time and room which I don't have.
I like it when everything is consistent around me. Only favorite movies in my DVD collection. Only my favorite books on the shelves (the rest is just removed to some place else or borrowed out to my friends and family). I think the only things that I choose according to its aestethics+usefulness are basic house accessories and furniture. Rest of the stuff I look at, hear or touch is usually linked to some people, sentiments or memories, things that mean something to me.
hehehe, i purely choose gundam kit cuz the mech design, I know Es-X is a heavy one, but it's so bad ass, imo it's the best looking gundam out there, i just wish it was made into anime series. I would also really like to see Advanced Z in Anime, I really like the Hazel Titan MK-II unfortunatly they don't have that in MG. And got my GP-03 hehehehe, was gonna get a turn A but it was sold out. I am at work right now, so got wait couple hours b4 i can open it

What are your reasons for getting a PG Zeta? If you're an ultra big zeta fan, I see no point in trying to stop you from getting it. If you're just looking for a Zeta Gundam model to own, the MG 2.0 version is superior in price, transformation, and modeling accuracy.

I am not too sure about the PG version but like derringer said Ver 2.0 is really nice. it comes with a nice stand can be combined with MKII - Titan Ver 2.0
Personally, I really want the PG RX-78 GP-01, but it's so had to find and really pricy too.
if you are bored instead of spending over 100 bucks on one PG kit, why not get 2-3 MGs.
