QFT!
I believe Gatoh wanna make sure Full Metal Panic goes out with a bang so I say let him take his time.
Hell yes.
We're gonna see characters pushed to their limits like never before.
We all know he becomes completely "out-of-control" if Chidori is even scrached...
Hell he punched his laptop and went to a seizure just knowing he had to leave her. When he realise they took her,...freaking Jesus of Nazareth....the world is gonna have a new a-hole from Sousuke's explosions...
Sousuke is going to be one deadly bloodhound on the loose... (he is kinda like a dog anyways?)...
What am trying to say is, its not all about the ending, but the journey of this amazing intense story...whatever the next season is, its gonna be full blown action...
I believe TSR was kinda like that too, one of the trailers ended with him saying...
"Sorry I made you wait,... let ME handle the rest of them!"

what the ending is? I dunno, all i know is, the whole damn thing is gonna kick major ass...
Actually, Behemoth was 4 episodes... Well, pure Behemoth action was only 2, 11 and 12, but to get to that there has been a set-up which took another 2 episodes, 9 and 10. So I think we might have a somewhat longer anime season than what SelilyChidori predicted. And damn it, WE DESERVE IT!!! We deserve more episodes after all this long wait.
Also, Namsak in 3 eps is a little quick, I'm thiking about 5....

DVMC can be finished in a movie i think, or like 5 episodes total. I read it and it was quite short (but good :))
COMO could be 5 episodes too.
I would say roughly, all the books make about 5-6 episodes each. Maybe he is waiting to put it into a series because he wants all of it done in a 20(ish) episode season.
I can imagine the epic finale! TSR's was soooo bomb. :D

I know things have been dragged on, and it seems like Gatou is allowing the manga to catch up or something?
Who knows...
All I know is, Gatou hasn't let me down in his work. He didnt let the manga stray not even more then 2 inches. I think only those twin-villians and minor things were switched but other then that ...not alot.
According to the film book I have, Gatou worked very closely with the manga artists and the anime for input.
( who knows, maybe the reason he hasnt finished his book is because he's HELPING so much with the manga Sigma, poor guy cant do both at once, and hes done a amazing job with them. Not a single thing out of stray, or dragged on. Perfect timing, good art, and lots of realistic backgrounds..)
It's not like Inuyasha where the manga goes one way and the anime another...
Yes the novels have been streched out alot,..but somehow i get the feeling that the anime will be most indefinately be better.
All these novels can easily be just meer episodes,...
I can't see more then 3 episodes in Namsak ...
I mean, One Night Stand was just 2 episodes right? The Behemoth.
Once Gatou does his finishing touch, its gonna be a kick ass anime season.
If Kurtz and Mao got some hunny-loving, and are NOT in the spotlight. IMAGIN Sousuke and Kaname...
For Christ's Sake! I BLUSHED maddly at the haircut scene hearing Sousuke's gasped breath seeing her...bossoms..
Can you imagin...their reunion.? after so much horror?
Which by the way, their time apart and this whole war to find Chidori might be just only 10 episodes IRL...

I've just finished reading ANOT (BTW it was awesome, thank you shutazen) and I am left with some questions . If someone would kindly answer these questions I would be very grateful. Thank you
1. How did Leonard find out about Yamsak 11 and about Wraith and Lemon investigating about it?
2. How come Leonard and Sophia have the same goal? Why does Sophia even have an own will? Or was that goal being pusued by that crazy scientist from the start and then implanted into Sophia?
3. How does Kaname know, after being brainwashed, that she has to go to Leonard? He didn't tell her anything nor has he met with Sophia before.
4. What would have happened if Tessa had successfully blown up Sophia. Was it that the Whisperd would be normal Persons from then on? But wasn't that Wispering a future-to-the-past thing so that it would have an effect on the past? So wouldn't it basically be the same thing as Leonard wants? How exactly does Leonard want change the past with the help of Kaname?
5. I did't get why Kaname was so special amog the Whisperd. (There was something about her getting the largest amount of that waves, is that the only reason? How does Sophia know about that. There was also something about Future-Kaname is the Whispering into the present or something )
6. I also didn't get the illusion thing at the end. Why would Kaname- the great Whispering- be the only one who has such a fake illusion? Moreover it was said that the deja vu where over after Kaname got brainwashed. And this was the only case, where the illusion was a FAKE.
7. Is it right to assume that Kaname has still her past feelings but cannot act according to them anymore?

1. Maybe he already knew about Yamsak 11. And he is the head of Amalgam, so has ressources to keep an eye in the most important locations. And Russia is a camp for the activities of Amalgam, being in hostillity with the Western countries.
2. I think that Leonard awakened at an early age, so he would have a great spam of time to think about black tecnlogy and it's effects in developing of the World. And maybe a "awaken Whispered" can ressonance with Sophia.
Sophia was "trapped" in this horror show for 18 years long. Its a great amount of time to think about what is going on, and with the Omnis Sphere, she can advanced to future and come back to the past, seeing it all.
3. First, I don't think that she was brainwshed. She just awakened. And who is the other "Whispered" that is awaken? Leonard Thestarossa. He has the ressources taht will be needed to go with the interprise of changing history. So she goes to him. And I thing that "awaken Whispered" can ressonance with much more efficience. And they probably can reach the Omni Sphere. So, they can ressoance with Sophia or just by themselves the "truth".
P.S.: What is to a whisper to awake? If we remenber in North Korea, there was a voice inside Chidori telling her to give up, lend control, show her true nature... With that came the knowledge of the black tecnology of the Lambda Driver. And then in the training camp, when she has a nightmare with Sabine killing her, and in truth it was this other "her", a "black Chidori", triyng to take control. Don't remember the exactly text, something as "Don't you think it's time to lend me control?" After she came out of the Dome, she was no longer Kaname Chidori, but this "black Chidori". Seens that awake is giving up control to a another personality that has full aknowledge of the heights of a "whispered" powers... Needless to say it's a dark and somewhat cruel character.
4. Well, in my opinion, if Tessa was successful in blowing up Sophia, I think taht the "Whisper" would be locked in the Omni Sphere. Tessa even say that the crystal dome was somewaht a kind of antenna. The "Whispered" would maintain their knowledge and genius mind, but feedback from the future with black tacnology would stop. In Tessa's way probably would be no changes in the past. She looks forward.
In Leonard's ways, the path would change. There would be no more black tecnology and "Whispered" would live a normal life. But who trust Leonard's good intentions? In my opinion he will try to conquer the world, being (with Chidori) the ones with the capablity of receive the feedback from the past. Why I think that? Remember in the flight to Melidia island? He says that in that island he would build a safe temple to him and Chidori. And then she thought that in the same island the world will end, and then start at a new begin. Seens that Leonard intends to maintain heimself and Chidori safe from the effects... He wants to change history and also maintain that Chidori that is very "open" towards him.
Ahhh... and Chidori will be in the place of Sophia "controlling" this new Tauros engine.
Chidori's way... WHAT? Yes, there's something really strange with her. When she thoughts in a new begin its sound like she will not be affect by be the Tauros engine. What we don't know is if she will stay with Leonard or search for Sousuke... It's sad, but I'm really sorry Sousuke...
Well... danmit!!! Sousuke will not let Leonard have his ways!
5. Well, she absorbs the full lenght of the waves. Sophia has full knowledge... she is one with the Omni Sphere, can travel through time and space during 18 years long (well, there is nos time in the Omni Sphere...). She knows almost everything.
The part about Kaname be a "Whispering" is relationed with the lenght of time that she was exposed to the waves. Maybe she is an antenna? That's why Leonard needs her power to operate the Tauros engine.
6. Well, I think that there's 2 Chidoris. One "true" and one "black" (or dark, evil... feel free to choose). Black Chidori steps out of the dome, and aims to change history. No one will be in her way. So even she loving Sousuke, she will kill him. Although she tells to herself that it doesn't matter, because this "present world" soon will cease to exist.
But we have or True Chidori (yay, we love you!!!). She will prevent that the one she loves get killed by all the ways. And so she overwhelmed black Chidori by this time, creating an ilusion to save Sousuke and Tessa. NOW, lets remember that prior to awake, there is a voice in his mind telling him to not be reckless, that SHE will definitely wait for him. That is the Chidori we want! Danm Gatou!
Some lines next, Sousuke has to choose between go with Lemmon and Tessa (alone they would fall to the enemies) or chase Chidori (probably he himself would end being killed by the enemies force)... "... Don't be reckless... I'll definitely wait for you, so don't worry." We praise you Gatou!

8. Mister Gold? Kalinnin crush him after the Leonard's bae is atacked in Mexico. Neither has that ability. Are you talking about Leonard Thestarossa? Well, he awakes really early, bu by the covers it seens like he is normal. He is problably just evil.
Anyway, sorry fot the english. It's just theories and I will welcome any feedback.

Aside from the Leonard/Kaname thing, this is one of those series that you have to read/watch more than 1 time, at least in my case. I'v watched it like 4 times now, can't get enough of it.

WOW now my knowledge has been vastly expanded. I can't believe I missed all of this. It's almost like literature class in school. Thank you very much Hobbit.
About question 8. if I recall correctly it was mentioned in ADVMC during that meeting of Amalgam that Mr. Gold is a Whispered (something like "You are the same as Leonard" or something).
I remember something like that, but I need read it again. But probably it was a misunderstood in the translation or we misunderstood all by ourselves. Mr. Gold was a japanese and he is no a "Whispered". You can be sure that he is not 18 years old (incident in Yamsk 11...).
Just a confusion between Mr. Au (gold) and Mr. Ag (silver - Leonard).
And one more thing. I really like the character Sousuke, but probably this novels will not end in a good way for him... Better Gatou get ready for our revenge. And I don't think that next volume will be the last.

Wow. Thanks for the summary, Hobbit. I wanted to read that book but I could not understand the translation well so I gave up.
Anyway, I hope Sousuke survives too, but it doesn't look too good for him. Then again, it doesn't look too good for Chidori either.

1. From what I have read, Leonard seems to know quite a bit about things revolving around the Whispered. So it is only natural for him to know these things, not to mention he leads the biggest terrorist organization in the world.
2. I'm not quite sure, but maybe Sophia the "creator" of the Whispered's wanted it from the start. Leonard might just want it because he hates how his life had played out (hated by parents, no family, etc. )
3. Well, Sophia pretty much took over Kaname's thoughts for that Deja-Vu moment. Sophia SUPER BRAINWASHED her, to make her think that what she was doing was righteous
4. Well, if Tessa had succeeded, I'm sure that none of the Deja-Vu stuff would be happening, and Kaname would have probably ended up with Sousuke again. However, Sophia is the strongest Whispered person it seems, since she is the first. I would think that it would just make it so that there would be no more whispered's created in future years. Leonard does not want to change the past, he wants to pretty much erase it. He wants it to be like about modern times, with no AS's/"Black Technology", as well as nobody remembering anything that has occurred in that time.

If you can recall, it says on the plane when she is crying that she faintly remembers going to a hot spring place with Tessa, Mao, and her friends, but not clearly. Her past memories are like a deep past that is pretty much her unconscious mind now. (I feel sorry for Sousuke).

It sucks that Kaname seem to have lost her memory. Maybe it will come back as time progresses, but who knows what else this Sophia person will do to change her. Poor Sousuke indeed. I wonder how they'll find out where Leonard took Kaname. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait until the next novel.

I know there was a translation at LJ but it was very rough and I tried to read it but I didn't understand some of the things that were going on so I quit. I don't know if its this person's translation though. Anyway, I decided to wait until this other person posted an edited translation in his journal.

Kaname wondering how it would be like, if she appeard in front of Souske in lingerie. She imagined the conversation:
‘Kaname, you should get your money back.’
‘Why, Souske?’
‘The clothing is defective. It does not cover much of your body.’
‘That’s the idea, silly. You’re supposed to use your imagination.’
'I see. I will imagine you fully clothed then. It is not a problem.’

I really don't think that Kaname was brainwashed. She still longs for Sousuke, she even says that she loves him and want rush towards him. When she is running to meet Leonard she thought abou Sousuke and Tessa, and pain and sorrow grew in her chest. But the thought of her duty as the most powerful "Whispered" who can change history made the pride rise inside her.
It's clearly that she still know who she is. But that is the difference between her and Tessa. Tessa look straight to the future. Kaname wants to change past, making a perfect world without black tecnology.
We can recall the flight in the epilogue. She cries because the memories of the trip with Sousuke and Kurz. And now there is no more Kurz.
The main question is: why Sophia don't brainwashed Tessa? Can't find an answer to that.
"Awoken", Chidori can understand that her love for Sousuke is, in this world, ill-fated. If it is not Leonard, there would be Amalgam chasing her. And Mithril? Hell, we even know who they are... They have Tessa, Miller, kept an eye on Kaname and Bunny died in their research labs creating Al.
She recognizes that Sousuke would probably die protecting her. They put their reason over emotions. I think that the voice inside Sousuke heads, prior to Lemmon awake him, is a very important clue. And Kaname makes it clear when she says that her love for Sousuke was ill-fated.
Think that she don't lost her memories. Seens more possible that someone is controlling her. Through the novels she kept hearing voices, and Bully killed himself beacuse that.
But Gatou will come out with a big surprise, lets just wait. Just hopes that the characters of FMP take responsabilty over their acts.

Dave-d is definitely good, but you really can't judge good fic by the number of reviews, really, it's more the QUALITY of reviews. There are lots of absolutely horrendous fic with tons of reviews and a lot of extremely well-written and thought out fics with very few reviews. The difference being, the terrible fics have reviews consisting of "OMG I LYK TOTES LUV UR STORIEZ" and the good fics have well-written reviews praising specific aspects of the fic, and even con-crit for the parts that need more work. Because, really, it isn't worth your time providing con-crit for the terrible fics, but the ones that are already good make you want to help the author improve even more.

I argree with what you said in the second passage but you have to consider that the ones who write that "OMG I LYK TOTES LUV UR STORIEZ"- stuff are either to lazy to write something detailed or are just not good at analizing and writing. Besides reading that detailed reviews before you read the story might spoil everything.

If I can remember correctly, during that epilogue scene Kaname is pretty much unaware of her feelings. She is changed after the incident at Yamsak 11 (think that's what it's called). It said that she felt a warm liquid running down her face, but she did not know why. This proves that her feelings are there, but she is unable to fully grasp them like before. Her previous emotional self (memories of friends, loving Sousuke) are unconscious to her. It seems that she didn't lose here memories, but can only remember them vaguely. It said that she can "faintly" remember that time at the hot spring.
Also, Kaname says so in TMMD that she wanted Sousuke to come and take her in his arms no matter what, and that she would wait for him forever. These are her true feelings.

(similar to TDDA has Daana, and ARX7 has AL,..etc)...
Unlike the other AI's, this machine is built for mental time travel,..not battles. Thus controls herself and others in the past in ANOT, shooting Sousuke..etc. Also sending unknown ammounts of information?
But the AI..uh..went power-hungry. Its kinda the whole MYSTERIOUS thing involving A.I's like AL that seem to evolve so quickly? Big big mystery....and maybe one went..a little too far...ne? Beyond anyone's control....
A major OmiSphere, similar to TDDA, has an AI (Daana). They ALL need Ai's..its either that or Dolphine Brains :S...

I can't believe how much this series reminds me of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.
Here's a spoiler summary of the first (chronologically 2nd) game
In the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster, the Soviet Union decides to use the Exclusion Zone, often referred to in-game as "The Zone", for special research into the human mind. Results include enhanced ESP, psychic weapons, and the eventual formation of a hive mind known as the C-Consciousness.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the self-aware C-Consciousness takes control of the Zone and autonomously continues its research. It attempts several times to bring about world peace using global mind control. However, these attempts result in the unintentional twisting of the physical terrain around Chernobyl as well as the mutation of resident life forms.
In an attempt to hide its existence from the outside world, the C-Consciousness erects a Monolith in the center of the Zone which it uses to brainwash any stalkers lucky enough to reach it into serving the C-Consciousness. In a further attempt to insulate itself, it constructs a device, known as the "Brain Scorcher", that effectively destroys the mind of anyone who gets too close. As reports of valuable "artifacts" disseminate from explorers who venture into the zone, whispered rumors of a Wish Granter housed in the Sarcophagus of the Chernobyl NPP begin to spread.
A group of four stalkers, named Strelok, Ghost, Fang, and Doc, travel to the center of the Zone in an effort to reach the Wish Granter. After encountering the fanatical Monolith faction, they are forced to retreat. Strelok is knocked unconscious during a "blowout" and loses his memory. The others are able to escape the Zone, though on the way back they get in a trap and Fang is killed by a sniper; some time later Ghost is killed during the mission by a Controller in the vaults of a secret X16 Laboratory under the factory near Yantar.
The unconscious Strelok is discovered by the C-Consciousness, who, unaware of his identity, mistakenly assigns him the task of killing the stalker known as Strelok and his allies. On the way out of the Zone, the truck carrying the still unconscious Strelok is destroyed, and he is discovered by another passing stalker.
Later in the game, Strelok is reunited with Doc who helps him piece together his past, prompting Strelok to return to the Zone and the Monolith. When Strelok eventually confronts the C-Consciousness, he is faced with a choice of merging with it and attempting to repair the Zone and bring about world peace, or trying to stop the C-Consciousness from continuing its experiments. If the player chooses not to join the C-Consciousness, he is forced to battle heavily armed members of the Monolith faction. When they are defeated, he destroys the equipment that sustains the C-Consciousness. Strelok is then seen standing in a grassy field, the Zone seemingly gone.

If the player decides not to piece together his past, he will receive one of five alternate endings. Actions taken by the player during the game decide what ending the player will receive. The Wish Granter endings are universally negative.
* If the player kills both the Duty and Freedom leaders, Strelok wishes to rule the world. The Monolith then absorbs Strelok, leaving only his clothes in a pile on the floor.
* If the player collects enough money, Strelok wishes to be rich. The Monolith generates an illusion of gold coins falling from the sky; in actuality, the roof collapses on Strelok's head, crushing him to death.
* If the player has a terrible reputation, Strelok states that "Humanity is corrupt, mankind must be controlled." Strelok then has a vision of the end of the world, and awakens alone in a dark void. In the original Russian version, he wishes for humanity to be destroyed.
* If the player has an excellent reputation, Strelok says "I want the Zone to disappear." He soon witnesses a clean Chernobyl. However, the player notices that Strelok's pupils have vanished. As he is blind, the Zone has disappeared, but only for him.
* If the player meets none of the other requirements, Strelok wishes to become immortal, he is seen transforming into a metal statue after this.

Yeah, I'm aware that in TMMD she says it to Sousuke. But in ANOT she says that still love and longs for him. The thought that she is being manipulated sounds better than the fact that she turned her back to Sousuke three times already (COMO, TMMD and ANOT).
In the epilogue, during the flight, I think that she don't understand because it really doesn't matter. The same explanation that she uses to recomfort herself after "shot" Sousuke. The world soon will change, dead will come back to life.
I really think that she can't grasp the full control of her emotions. But she is aware of all around her. If its a new Chidori or Sophia taking control, we still have to wait for thenext volume.

Sophia really resembles Chidori. The problema is why Tessa don't see that resemblance too? And Tessa says that thwe Omni Sphere can't leave the place where it is created.
If it is really her inside the crystal, then something goes much wrong in that island. Because we see in ANOT she running to that path. And then, in the pictures, she is locked on, with straps on her fists.
And then, Sophia calls Chidori of "Daughter". I really don't know the meaning of that, beacuse Sophia can't be Chidori's mother, since Chidori has a little sister. Then Sophia thinks that all the "Whispered" are her children.
Hmn... I'm going to buy vol. 5 and 6 of the manga, just see how is it. Selilychidori, from what vol. those pictures are?

The thought that she is being manipulated sounds better than the fact that she turned her back to Sousuke three times already (COMO, TMMD and ANOT).
Honestly, Its neither Manipulation or Turning her back on Sousuke....

Sophia, I believe is an AI of the Merinda Omni-Sphere fused with her mind and memories with the past and present. She can call chidori whatever she wants to manipulate her, daughter, goddess, whatever. and shes whispering to not only Chidori but also Leonard'and Tessa. I believe this same type of snycing is happening to Sousuke as well but not with Sophia,..but with his AI, AL.
Has anyone ever notice how Sousuke and AL thought of the same painting's name without any connection? ( the painting near Sousuke's hospital bed after Namsak)
Creepy and mysterious. This same effect is a lighter version to what is happening to Chidori and Sophia.

Tessa explained this to Sousuke a while back. Perhaphs it is an AI impersonating or manipulating the human mind.
And you may be right, maybe Sophia thinks all whispers are children due to her influence? Who knows.

Maybe in COMO she really sacrifices herself. But in TMMD and ANOT, in the first she fail in recognize Leonard as an enemy, and in the second her actions doesn't seens of a person with mixed feelings. She even says that her duty is much more important.
I think it was Tessa who said that Al is one of the possibilities of Sousuke's personality, should his past be different from how it was. I now that the sentence is strange, but probably no one would understand that in portuguese... :heh:
The picture of the manga... well, I can't go agains that. It's Chidori. Maybe the experiment in Yamsk 11 trapped future Chidori fom Meridia island. Like an infernal Loop. One thing it's clear: the one inside the crystal is trapped.
Yeah Zwei, hopes Gatou don't fail in the end. Leonard's end should be with with a mass of bullets, or the foot of a Behemoth. Gives me creeps think in and end with everyone happy, Leonard happy... or a world without wars and black tecnology.

Sophia, I believe is an AI of the Merinda Omni-Sphere fused with her mind and memories with the past and present. She can call chidori whatever she wants to manipulate her, daughter, goddess, whatever. and shes whispering to not only Chidori but also Leonard'and Tessa. I believe this same type of snycing is happening to Sousuke as well but not with Sophia,..but with his AI, AL.
Has anyone ever notice how Sousuke and AL thought of the same painting's name without any connection? ( the painting near Sousuke's hospital bed after Namsak)

Doubt that they drop the anime like a rock. Supremely doubt it. And I thought the 1st season was awesome. Fumoffu lacked the quality of artwork, but compensated in comedy...which was awesome..XD

You really like jumping to conclusion...
1) I also buy Bleach manga and I don't read them because I fully know what is happening inside, but I like the manga, I want to support the author and if some of my friend want to read them I can lend them the manga. And FMP Sigma is exactly in the same category.
2) I have nothing against the storyline what I don't like is the writing of ANOT. Everything leading to Kurz death was at a Victory Gundam level (but his death is perfect). Most of the "revelation" about Whispered should have been distributed between the novel coming before with this one making the link between all the info.
3) I assume nothing, I only say what I don't want to happen in the last novel ie a reset end nothing more. The only assumption I made is if a reset end happen the novel will be spoiled by IMOH one of the worst plot device in existence.
4) I don't bash, the moment I stop liking something I simply drop it, but if I find fault in something I like I will point them. For me it's what a fan should do.
It is really Gatou's story, but I must agree with Miles. A reset ending will, in my opinion, screw the story. But ANOT was really good.
Concerning Chidori X Leonard, it seens to me that she is really confuse. But, as I said in previous posts, this feeling ends in ANOT. We can see the confuse in CMMD:

Zwei, you can look the net for some doujin, I don't know. But Gatou's should let Sousuke have his way with Tessa. A sort of payback on Chidori (yeah, I really think Chidori is aware of her actions... in ANOT, after the Dome her line of thoughts is really clear. And after saiyng things like "she thought" or "she says to herself", Gatou can't go back and say it was not her)
Selilychidori... yeah, if Angelina Jolie would make her way towards me, ya, I would be really shocked (in a good way...). Leonard seens to be a really good looking guy, and she was atraccted to him. Altought, it was still kinda disappointing to me when I read that part in the novels, that Kaname was attracted (even if only for a second) to Leonard bastard... :( Ok, i know that Sousuke is the only for her in the love thing, but it's kinda like, she loves Sousuke only for his personality, not because of attraction as a man, and at first when i knew FMP (in the anime) I haven't noticed this...

She did! remember that Leonard loves to twist the truth in his favor so not even his own quotes are valid. He still thinks that him and Sousuke are the same. and they are clearly not...(at least Sousuke doesnt enjoy killing)

Don't let Leonard's persuasive acts dilute that she could possibly love him. He's constantly trying to brainwash her and trick her.
Miles Tag: Each fan I suppose has their own definition what a fan is. I don't agree with you, however I respect that some fans DO have the right to express disatisfaction. It is how animators and authors address issues if it becomes too apparent in large scale. However, if you don't like how the story is going so far, there isn't much you can do about it at this point. I'm sorry you lost interest. I however can say am quiet passionate about Full Metal Panic and have faith the story will end with greatness.

i like the way you are thinking there Seillychidori. i would definately have to agree with you in the fact that the only reason she has not run back to Souske yet is because of her hesitation of what Leonard will do to him. it is fairly obvious that Chidori loves Sousuke more that anyone else but i feel the only reason why she is letting Leonard drag her along is for the sake of Sousuke and all her firends. if it is true that the devise at Yamesk 11 is a sort of "Time Travel" device i think that Chidori is going to try and help Leonard to get rid of Black Technology for the reason as Seillychidori has stated above

so she has chosen to resonate with with Sophia/the machine to try and reverse this so she can go back to living a normal high school girls life. while at the same time she is also doing this becasue at multiple times she has always felt sorry for Sousuke about his upbringing and the countless battles and killing he has had to face due to Black Technology. due to this i am thinking along the lines that Kaname feels that if she does use the machine then everthing will be normal in the end and her and Sousuke can just be a normal couple together and never have to worry about Leonard or Black Technology ever agian.
but in the novel i hope gatoh writes it in a way that as chidori is starting to use the machine sousuke ends up stopping her and telling her to leave everything as is for the reason all the experiences has turned him into the person that he is today and even though they were bad experiences he still wouldnt trade them becasue in the end they have brought him to meet chidori and all the people at Jindai plus all his friends at Mitril.

... Aff, hopes Gatou don't take the easy route and put all the blame on Sophia. Sousuke is trying with all his might, taking full responsability for his actions, and so Tessa too. She will blame herself for Kuz's death. And Kaname will walk away with a simple "Sophia's fault"?

Sorry, it's you who're fail. If you studied NOT well then you should know why Yansk11 vanished on the night when Omega Sphere started up for even a few minutes------people were simply driven mad. And all those illusions (Deja vus) before they went to the core are simply real: repeating scenes they just saw in their visions, that drove Lemon mad outside the Sphere, and those thoughts created even made Chidori and Tessa hard to get inside (from Tessa's words, they were supposed to make use to that). BUT after Sophia=Chidori left the area, all these stuff vanished. So it's simply and entirely possible for Sophia to create all that illusion. Probably some ability to share thoughts of each other------that should explain why Chidori can still transmit her thoughts to Sousuke.
I just re-read the Chinese translations of NOT about Sohpia=Chidori meeting Leo. From the words, it's not the meaning you said, but "the two have no use anymore", "so what for them to continue these relations? The world will reset soon" and such. (I'm too lazy to find what I translated for this part) Indeed she know what should do now------a job from Sohpia, but then it's not her "mind of kindness" to do it. In fact in the epliogue, the tears she shed were simply "uncontrolled" and "meanlingess".
My theory for this is that, though Sophia controlled most of Chidori's thoughts and actions, she still retains a bit of consciousness so that she can recall some of her past------just like in the Omega Sphere she told Sousuke that she still loves him, simple as that. As such, I'll consider Chidori was "possessed" by Sophia since she has some of her own will, but Sophia's power is too powerful that even she thinks her actions is right. After all, Sophia is believed to be the "Whispering".
For teh ending itself, I said I don't actually mind a reset ending long ago, and it still stands.

In the flight too. We have two different reactions for the spring event. Thats why she can't understand the flow of tears. Because it was from someone subdued inside herself.
That's my opnion. But I really don't mind if Gatou changes it all, like Sophia trying to prevent Leonard from archieves his goals, who could result in a major danger from the world than black tecnology itself.

I'm sorry to have to open your eyes to reality, but there really isn't that much money in FMP!, so the odds of getting an actual TV series is very low. The new AS models coming out soon and the new novel (whenever that'll be) may be able to increase FMP!'s popularity enough for studios to consider it, but with things being the way that they are now, an OVA is pretty much all you can hope for.

Regarding Kaname and Leonard's kiss, I think that she enjoyed it for a moment but only because she's human and of course her body would respond to that type of sensation. But its clear in the novel that she disliked what had happened. She cried a lot afterwards because she wanted Sousuke to be her first kiss. She even began to regret that she didn't kiss him that time when she had cut his hair. She said that the first kiss was special, and she wanted it to be Sousuke.

'Do this' 'say that' 'think this' and Kaname isn't aware these aren't herself because they're coming up from within her own mind. She isn't actually herself, but she THINKS that she is.
Even her emotions are being manipulated, but only to a point. Thoughts don't always coincide with emotion, and while Sophia is probably trying to manipulate her emotions through thought, she can't manage it completely. The whole Whispered thing is in the mind, in the thoughts, so Sophia probably can't actually control Kaname's BODY, make her move the way she wants to, she can just make her think she wants to move the way Sophia wants her to. And because of that, Sophia probably can't control the chemicals within the body that tell you that you're feeling a certain emotion. But because the thoughts she's feeding Kaname, that's likely why she was surprised she was crying.

As I said. In the novel that became very clear. She liked it for a moment. She was taken by surprise. And it was a feeling that she had never experienced.
The first time what Kaname meeting Leonard, she found him a handsome guy. What is perfectly natural. (In the anime she had also found other pretty boys). But.
In my opinion, Kaname feels no physical attraction or romantic by Leonard. But do not think she hates him. So I think she understands Leonard. Nothing more. But this indifference of Kaname let him frustrated.
Now, regarding the new kaname / Sophia anything can happen.

When I was rereading the novels, I noticed that in the illustrations and such, Kaname has blueish hair, but it says in the actually descriptions of her that she has black hair?
It isn't a big deal or anything but I just found it strange.

It's just the colors Shikidouji chose for the color pictures to make it more dynamic. You'll find in very many anime that originated in light novels or manga, that the characters have traditional/realistic colors the way that they're originally described, but in anything that's full color they have strange/unrealistic/non-traditional colors.
Sousuke and Kaname are supposed to be black haired-dark-brown-eyed. Ono-D I don't think actually dyes his hair blond, though I believe Kyouko does, or she just has light brown hair as opposed to black (I haven't read a description on her hair out of the novels so I can't say this for certain). *shrugs* The blue hair on Kaname, Sousuke's grey eyes, Tsubaki's green hair, all those colors you wouldn't expect to see on a real person/Asian person, it's all just to add life to the full-color illustrations, not accurate representation of the character's features.
But does Tessa really have grey hair and eyes?

but when you think about it why would Kaname tell Sousuke in CMMD to come and rescue her no matter what and that she loves him and when they see next they will kiss and blah blah blah, to the next time they see each other she shoots him. it doesnt make sense to me
also in CMMD she had an invitation from Leonard to shoot him and escape with Sousuke yet she couldnt. but then in the period of time from CMMD to ANOT she completely does a 180 and decides she can kill and shoots the one person she loves dead and justifies it by saying sorry we cant be together.

ive always believed that Kaname has been overtaken by this Sophia entity (the milk and tea analagy and that is how Sophia is controlling Kaname) and it is Sophia who wants to help Leonard not Kaname and it was Sophia who showed the vision to try and stop Sousuke from spoiling whatever Leonard has cooked up.

I say this because of the coolness with which Kaname / Sophia reported the death of Sousuke and Tessa to Kalinin.
This personality without feelings, certainly is Sophia. If Sophia think what Sousuke and Tessa are dead, maybe Kaname has led her to believe it.

There is the possibility of Sophia be Chidori in control of the Tauros engine in Meridia Island, but its a theory. If that is the case, then her display of her emotions towards Sousuke was true.
Anyway, we have the old Chidori. We can see that in the ilusion, in the voice inside Sousuke head and in the flight towards Meridia island, when she remember the trip with Sousuke, Kurz and everybody.
But then, we have all the thoughts crossing her mind while she is running towards Leonard. The thought of an ill-fated love in this world and the prospect of the alteration of the reality.

There is the possibility of Sophia be Chidori in control of the Tauros engine in Meridia Island, but its a theory. If that is the case, then her display of her emotions towards Sousuke was true.
Anyway, we have the old Chidori. We can see that in the ilusion, in the voice inside Sousuke head and in the flight towards Meridia island, when she remember the trip with Sousuke, Kurz and everybody.
But then, we have all the thoughts crossing her mind while she is running towards Leonard. The thought of an ill-fated love in this world and the prospect of the alteration of the reality.
Off topic... I heard a rumor about a new FMP! season, but I don't have the link. It's just a rumor.

As the ilusion itself... well, honestly, i can't understand much of it. Kaname herself believe that she shots Tessa and Sousuke. One side of her, actually. And then we have that voice telling Sousuke to wait. Why didn't she calls him for help? Why didn't she tells him that she is being manipulate by Sophia? Wouldn't she prefer being shot down than become a puppet on Leonard's hand and/or in Sophia's hand? The same person who created that ilusion spoke with Sousuke, and even told him to don't chase "her". That "don't be reckless" really fits when him has to choose between follow Kaname (and confront the enemy) or help Tessa and Lemon. I can't think why Sophia would create an ilusion, and then ask to Sousuke to wait for her. It's Kaname, and she is aware of the path that lies ahead.
From that, I just can think that former Chidori is aware of all. She created an ilusion to protect Sousuke and Tessa. She even says for him to wait for her. And mostly important, she is aware of this new Chidori.
I really don't know if this new Chidori is a part of Chidori itself or if its Sophia taking her under control. Only Gatou knows. But maybe, Chidori herself is aware of her actions. She can be walking her own way. We have room enough to think that as a possibility. Of course that she can be under control too.
Was her actions different than the usual? Yes, something really happens after the encounter with Sophia, but on COMO, we can see her looking down on Sousuke, like Leonard's word towards her in the night before. Of course she is affected by waht is happening in her school. But that was one of her sides.
Now, she is willing to play her part or to Sophia's will? On ly Gatou can tell us that. But as I said some pages behind, we really don't know who is behind mithi amalgam, or what are the true goals of Leonard, Sophia and Chidori. They don't necessarily need aim to the same goals. Kaname says that SHE has the most powerful Tauros engine.
Ll, Gatou has a huge problem. No one will be satisfect, doesn't matter what he comes up with in the next novel. He will be forced to keep writing this series until the day of his death. :heh:

i like the way you are thinking there Seillychidori. i would definately have to agree with you in the fact that the only reason she has not run back to Souske yet is because of her hesitation of what Leonard will do to him. it is fairly obvious that Chidori loves Sousuke more that anyone else but i feel the only reason why she is letting Leonard drag her along is for the sake of Sousuke and all her firends. if it is true that the devise at Yamesk 11 is a sort of "Time Travel" device i think that Chidori is going to try and help Leonard to get rid of Black Technology for the reason as Seillychidori has stated above

but in the novel i hope gatoh writes it in a way that as chidori is starting to use the machine sousuke ends up stopping her and telling her to leave everything as is for the reason all the experiences has turned him into the person that he is today and even though they were bad experiences he still wouldnt trade them becasue in the end they have brought him to meet chidori and all the people at Jindai plus all his friends at Mitril.

firstly i agree about the Leonard and Kanme kiss it meant less than nothing to Kaname and all it meant to leonard was that it was in the hopes to try and woo Kaname into cooperating with him in the long run (reference to ANOT what douche bag aka Leonard has that little monolougue about the pimps he saw when he was younger)
i have to disagree with you on the part of pushing him inside a meat procesing plant. to me that seems a like too much of a nice and quick way to die. i would aim to draw his torture out for as long as possible.

Of course it's not a "daughter" in biological sense. But what we're sure is that the voice's owner waited for her for long. As also showed in NOT, Chidori is somehow a keystone of something (forgot which) but is pretty sure that it's connected with "the wraith in this relic".
Simply put, it's not Chidori in control when the illusion was created. I saw some works with similar cases before but I can't really recall the source, still, when you're obeying a person spiritually will you say you're controlled by them? No, so Chidori said "Sophia needs her to do something". Yes, it can be strange for her not calling for help, but remember that Chidori is sure that Sousuke will go after her, so is it really need to call for help?
Can it be split personality? Maybe, but unlikely. Because from Sousuke's view that's definately her except for her actions. And also remember, even the (if there's really one) former Chidori is aware that she killed Sousuke and Tessa, the same personality that recalled their friendship and love and then despise that. If she created this illusion to cheat Sophia, then it's not even logical for her to create a lie to cheat someone while taking this lie seriously.
Thus, the most logical explaination is that she's cooperating with Sophia. Weird, yeah, but then she's the real keystone in the world (by Leo), and is there something she wants to change in the past which makes her course the same as Sophia and Leo? Dunno.
You do raise an interesting point: who's behind Mithril and Amalgam? But from the story it's pretty clear that Tessa and Leonard are having the same goal: to eliminate Whispered from the world. They're just using different methods: the former wants to stop the sorce of what turning people to Whispereds, while the other wants to reset the timeline altogether. So more or less their paths are intervined, just see who should be the one to make the final decision.

Yeah, and he really hits her. And she doesn't try to kill herself in the plane. She is pushing Kallinin to turn back the plane, so she can go back to where Sousuke is.

Well Leonard IS Chidori's not only first but second, and maybe third or fourth and so on kiss. We know that.
It does look though that she is taking being kissed by Leonard bit better by now. Maybe soon she will learn how to enjoy it too, as Leonard seems more than willing to keep this up.
It would be funny if Sousuke would take her 12th or something kiss with his dying breath, only for her to still end up with Leonard after that. Well in Shoujo it would be a rather typical scenario - the girl likes other guy but ends up having her first kiss stolen by a bastard bishie and he keeps on stealing kisses until she finally realizes that she actually likes the bad guy who forced himself on her and tore her relationship with a good, pure prince apart.
Or another end. Sousuke dies, Leo survives, Sousuke gets his last-first kiss but since Leo is alive and Chidori survives too we can still 'hope' for Leo/Chidori end somewhere. Heck he would still have kissed her twice as much as Sousuke by that point too.
Or another not so bad but still not satisfying scenario. Both heros survive and we have and ending shot with them leaning towards each other for a kiss but we never have the luck to actually see it (or next worse - we see shadows in the sunset standing close, implying kissing). I don't agree with the kissing thing, at least not currently. Leonad kissed Kaname twice yet, she hated both ok maybe she enjoyed phisically the first one (GRR yuck eww:mad:), but I don't think she enjoys it much more, at least it wasn't written in the novels.
NO MORE kisses from Leonard or I hit Gatou with something hard.
At first i thought that it's quite probable that Sousuke could die, but now i don't think so, it would be too wierd for Kaname to be the crying "oh noooo" of the two. And a last kiss at dieing would be SO cliche. And FMP is really not a cliche story (yet). The version with Leonard winning and taking Kaname... Well it would be too tragic and absurd IMO, after all these things. :rolleyes: The version with S and K getting together but without kiss=i don't think so. Shadow kiss=maybe :rolleyes:
But I do not want these :D I think is gonna be a much more twisted, and less simply black or white ending.

Very strange. Chidori herself told Sousuke that she will wait for HIM to come and save her no matter how many he has to kill.

I re-checked the Chinese translation. No, she didn't tell Sousuke to wait for her; it's SHE who will wait for him so don't push himself too hard.
As well as the self-translation of that sentence: "This is actually a painful and sad thing, but the two are now useless. Their game of shallow friendships, or ill-fated lovers or such, so what if they continue? This world will be reset in the coming future regardless." As such, Sophia=Chidori is actually despising these as as whole because she won't care about it anymore, since they will be erased after the world reset.
This is an endless loop for the arguments though, but I still believe that Sohpia is taking control most of the time with just a little place for Chidori's mind to flow with, thus showing some sign of split personality.
And no, if you read NOT carefully you can see Leo's intensions. I re-checked the Chinese translation. No, she didn't tell Sousuke to wait for her; it's SHE who will wait for him so don't push himself too hard.
As well as the self-translation of that sentence: "This is actually a painful and sad thing, but the two are now useless. Their game of shallow friendships, or ill-fated lovers or such, so what if they continue? This world will be reset in the coming future regardless." As such, Sophia=Chidori is actually despising these as as whole because she won't care about it anymore, since they will be erased after the world reset.
This is an endless loop for the arguments though, but I still believe that Sohpia is taking control most of the time with just a little place for Chidori's mind to flow with, thus showing some sign of split personality.
And no, if you read NOT carefully you can see Leo's intensions. Regarding Leonard's intention, I just have the sensation that Gatou will come up with something that will surprise us all. He seens to like those twists in the story, like Kallinins betrayal. And as you said, Chidori seens to be aware that, in this world, there will be always someone chasing her, and so Sousuke would be in an endless struggle to protect her (and that's something that I'm saying since the first post... It's just seens to be clear in the novel itself in my opinion).
Its and endless discuss until Gatou release the novel. But its very nice have someone who can translate from the chinese version to discuss about the novels.
Very strange. Chidori herself told Sousuke that she will wait for HIM to come and save her no matter how many he has to kill.

Darknemo2000, I understand your point of view. In the direction the novel is going, anything can happen. As for the kiss, in my view, Kaname has not had his first "real kiss". A "real kiss" is when two people who love each other, they kiss one to the other, and enjoy the moment. Be caught by surprise by someone with their lips together is not a "real kiss". Leonard can steal when kisses you like, will be nothing. It continues being a stolen kiss of a kidnapper. There is no reciprocity. A real kiss must be reciprocated physically and emotionally.

Well Leonard IS Chidori's not only first but second, and maybe third or fourth and so on kiss. We know that.
It does look though that she is taking being kissed by Leonard bit better by now. Maybe soon she will learn how to enjoy it too, as Leonard seems more than willing to keep this up.
It would be funny if Sousuke would take her 12th or something kiss with his dying breath, only for her to still end up with Leonard after that. Well in Shoujo it would be a rather typical scenario - the girl likes other guy but ends up having her first kiss stolen by a bastard bishie and he keeps on stealing kisses until she finally realizes that she actually likes the bad guy who forced himself on her and tore her relationship with a good, pure prince apart.
Or another end. Sousuke dies, Leo survives, Sousuke gets his last-first kiss but since Leo is alive and Chidori survives too we can still 'hope' for Leo/Chidori end somewhere. Heck he would still have kissed her twice as much as Sousuke by that point too.
Or another not so bad but still not satisfying scenario. Both heros survive and we have and ending shot with them leaning towards each other for a kiss but we never have the luck to actually see it (or next worse - we see shadows in the sunset standing close, implying kissing). And then you would have been left with rather different feelings - you are happy since both of them are alive and probably have many kisses in the future, but you never see their actual kiss, just an implications of it, while the only real kisses you saw were Leo/Chidori.
i dont think that Kaname enjoyed any of the kisses that she has been forced to endure. the first one when he kisses her instantle her thought is something along the lines of i wanted to share this with Sousuke so any enjoyment of it could be put down to eitehr the rush of the moment or her imagining kissing Sousuke instead of Leonard.
when Leonard kisses ehr the second time if anything it is more of a submission in not bothering to argue and fight it anymore because she knows he can do anything he wants to her and its useless to fight it at this point in time. she has also seen Leonards true colours in the way that he is only using her.
also i dont think Kaname could ever forgive Leonard and just accept being with him after everything he did in Tokyo.
after re-reading ANOT i feeling a little more positive that Gatoh wont go for a time reset ending.

even if Kaname and Leonard agree and try and rewrite the past im hoping Gatoh somehow writes it that Sousuke stops them but when he stops them he severs the link to the future and from that point on no more black technology will be able to be accessed. once again im banking on my theory that Sousuke decides to stop them even thought there is the possibility to bring people back that have died on the basis that even though they have suffered and had harsh lives those trials have brought them all together and turned them into the people they are. also if it wasnt for those events none of them woudl ahve met each other.

Just to make things clear. In my theory, the "former" Chidori is aware of all. She created the ilusion to protect Sousuke and Tessa, and even spoke with Sousuke.
She doesn't want Sousuke to keep chasing her. She wants him to wait for her.
She cheated this "new" Chidori. But she don't despite this new her. Probably she is willing to archieve the same goals. Then, the new Chidori can speak about Sousuke and Tessa's "death" without emotions. Something that doesn't happens when she recalls Kurz because in the depths of the new one, this "former" Chidori is fully aware of Kurz's death.
Former Chidori is aware that it was all an ilusion. The new Chidori despise the love and friendship, but because she knows that its ill-fated (in this world). The display of emotions (when she says that love Sousuke and longs for him, but also tells him to don't get near) after the dome too was an action of the new Chidori.
Now we have:
Former Chidori: Aware of her actions, created an ilusion, spoke with Sousuke, cry over Kurz's death.
New Chidori: Trying to change the world. Despise the ill-fated love and the "thin" friendship. Believes that Sousuke and Tessa are dead.
But they seen to have the same goal. Even if their emotions are different.
I really believe that Tessa wants to stop all the "whispering", but she doesn't want to erase the past. She looks ahead to continue with her life.
What Leonard wants, well, I really don't know. But I don't believe that he wants to change the past to stop wars and black tecnology.
What Sophia wants, if it is the same that new Chidori, or even if New Chidori and Former have the same goals, well who knows?

seilly sadly i have to agree and disagree with you on this part.
firstly i agree about the Leonard and Kanme kiss it meant less than nothing to Kaname and all it meant to leonard was that it was in the hopes to try and woo Kaname into cooperating with him in the long run (reference to ANOT what douche bag aka Leonard has that little monolougue about the pimps he saw when he was younger)
i have to disagree with you on the part of pushing him inside a meat procesing plant. to me that seems a like too much of a nice and quick way to die. i would aim to draw his torture out for as long as possible.

WOW,..thats the first i EVER heard anyone perfering the emotionless Kashim over how he is now. Anyone who likes him in that mode,..must have seen only the first 3 episodes or something? His Kashim side only showed briefly in his tough moments....and its not even part of him at all anymore..

Not really, there are ALOT of fans who prefer Kashim over Sousuke especially with this Kaname/Leonard thing going on. I'v always been a Tessa shipper though, so I'm not included but the hopes of Sousuke x Tessa happening is highly unlikely. =(

Season 4 is being postponed by Kyoto (The company that produces the anime), until the light novel series ends. The "climax" of the novel series is said to be in the next release, the anime will conclude the series once the book series has ended.

There are usually two ways to play good-bad guys.
If shoujo focuses on the main pair then the good guy doesnt get much focus on - usually more in the beginning, until the girl meets the bad guy and the ending where he makes a confession and the girl makes a choice between good and bad guy. She usually go "Yes! Dreams coming true! But why do I have this unhappy feeling in my chest?" Until she realizes that she likes the bad guy now.
Other way if author focuses on love triangle, then both good and bad guy's are getting almost equal 'screen' time, with minor advantage of the bad guy. The bad guy forces to take girl's first kiss, while the good guy gets her second (Sousuke doesn't have this honor though) and the girl even ends up going out with good guy before she realizes how much she started to care the bad guy, though she despised him in the beginning.

I know what you mean and I agree. That's pretty much why I never read shoujo or worse, josei - where the main character sleeps with every men possible in the manga untill she finds the right one for her; the guy who she never slept with.

Right now, 'the old Kaname personality' (when she was fully herself) was obviously in love with Sousuke.
Having now a 'mixed' Kaname/Sophia personality makes her former ties look futile.
Why do I almost hate the couple?
Sousuke: Is the less guilty, he has 'always' been a soldier so killing people is not something new.
This said, it seems that in the past he always tried to not let people die if he could avoid it. After Nami's death I started to hate him as he was so focused on being with Kaname that all other people/things didn't matter anymore.
(be it his team, friends or others)
Nevertheless I must admit he was already like that in TSR.
Kaname: she is the big problem here and I almost ended up loving/understanding Leonard.
That a normal HS girl living a regular life becomes what she is now is almost too much for me.
I must admire that author for developing her character in such a believable way.
She became ready to have all people die just to be with Sousuke, she became a murderer but at the same time she remains indecisive until almost the end.
It can be summarized by 'I started to love Sousuke, I want to be with him but I don't want to go back to him', crazy isn't it?
The poor Sousuke is always nearly killed but she couldn't do the right thing and go back to him when she had the opportunity.

. A big final battle is mandatory, people assaulting the island while Leo and Sophia are trying to complete their ritual/time machine or whatever you want to call it.
- Final duel Sousuke versus Leo would also be normal (the revenge?)
- Kaname 'comes back', either freeing herself from the 'mix' with Sophia or whatever -> changing the world/reset the time is too big a thing
- Sousuke and Kaname have their 'first kiss'
Nicer way? :rolleyes:
- Final battle + final duel
- Sophia-Kaname succeed in changing the time or whatever -> hence it would mean black tech and all the 'future' doesn't exist
- Sousuke is somewhere in the world, doesn't know/never met Kaname -> Kaname has to find him (provided she didn't forget everything herself)
My dream (which will never happen except in a fanfiction) :heh:
- Final battle + mega duel Sousuke><Leo -> Leo dies but by doing so allows Sophia-Kaname to complete the super mega change the world thing
- Sophia-Kaname erase the 'whispers' hence the whispered are normal people again but in the process she dies to save the world (sort of) and exchange a first and last kiss with Sousuke
- Tessa takes care of Sousuke and helps him heal his heart

Well though the story is shounen, the way romance develops so far, it looks more like cheap shoujo rather than shounen if you'd ask me. That's why if they keep same progression in this regard, we may get a shoujo-istic ending as well.

Not really. I would not mind that too, to tell the truth. At first when I was still FP fan I really enoued Chidori, but as story progressed I found that I like Kaname less and less and like Tessa more than before.
At very least Tessa deserves her kiss with Sousuke. If such bastard as Leonard got his kiss twice, it would be fair for Tessa to get hers, as she deserves that at least.

I think that, you can't find in the novels feelings of Kaname towards Leonard that resemble a shoujo. Just cause she doesn't kill him? Well, she tried.
There is no mistake. Chidori loves Sousuke. It's clear to the two halfs (Chidori and "Sophia/Chidori"). Leonard is just a way to archieve the most powerful Tauros engine.
The only problem in that is Leonard. He seens to worship Kaname for her "whispered" potential. It doesn't seens just a physical attraction. The kisses sounds more like him trying to break her spirit than something else. The first time she was totally subdued by her situation. When she finally undertood her feelings for Sousuke, he dissapear leaving behind an assassin trying to kill her. And in the second, sounds more like a exchange for Lemon's life (he nearly got dumped from the plane in a snowy mountain).
And no, the series is not sounding like a cheap shoujo. It seens that you guys really like shoujo, but if this novel doesn't go the way you like then it is "cheap"? It is not a fanfic. Gatou is really taking his time, he is a professional. He will not write whatever comes in his mind. And we will have to bear with it.

I guess I still like the Kaname/Sousuke ship because she wouldn't be in the position that she's currently in were it not for her decision to go with Leonard to spare Sousuke's life. I also believe that she might feel that a lot of people would be safer if she stayed with Amalgam for the time being.

It's funny but alot of fanartist tend to sway away from the original story in animes but ALL the japanese fanartist i seen, tend to be 75% SxC the whole way. I havent even seen a single one of Leonard and chidori. Not one! And it's really really rare and usually not very good art. Tessa is like 20% .

but only gets away with a kissing Sousuke then him getting a warning from Kaname about if he ever does that again she will bring her hallisen out of retirement.

It's funny but alot of fanartist tend to sway away from the original story in animes but ALL the japanese fanartist i seen, tend to be 75% SxC the whole way. I havent even seen a single one of Leonard and chidori. Not one! And it's really really rare and usually not very good art. Tessa is like 20% .

really how many years now has Gatou been working on the last novel i honestly cant believe that after all these years that he will just cop out and do a reset ending.
i think that he has taken this long because he has come up with the most awesome ending to a light novel in the history of man kind. that somehow will involve Kaname and Sousuke and Kaname being together and Leonard dead.

from the ending of the novel i have always though that Kurz has definately died and i dont think that he will be coming back as Sousuke went to tell Mao how he died to save them with his final shot.
but really who knows what Gatou is thinking for the last novel he could do anything. also think of Gauron if Gatou brought him back from the dead that many times Kurz might also have a chance.

Just Finished ANOT from shutatzen (anyone who hasnt read it and stupidly rest only on guessing what sigma raws shows must search for shutatzen in live journal)
Man suspense is a killer, so this is what I think: (by the way I have read few post back and everyone is saying SPOILERS without the spoiler thingy so I will just say it directly)
Kurz: man one is obviously sad that he died, but i dont know, makes the whole story cooler, gives a certain kind of edge, and it is a powerful death cause of the 1650 m thingy before he died and stuff, so yeah its kinda good that he died, however, I dont get the exchange when mao says to sosuke "he cant be dead" and sosuke says "dont worry"......that together with the fact that no one destroyed his AS completely and how sosuke in BOMF and gauron several times cheated death, just tells me that he aint dead, and that bugs me. Hes more legendary now so to speak. Dont do it gatou, dont do it
Kaname: I still dont know if the one talking while she shot sosuke and tessa was or not kaname, but afterwards in the plane when she cries i kinda get the idea that real kaname is in there trapped or something and is the one crying at thinking that sosuke tessa and kurz are dead. Dont believe to much what I have read that says that she made the illusion or stuff like that, doesnt make sense, and yes I dont know who the hell that voice was that talked to sosuke maybe kaname maybe not ahhhh nothing makes sense.
As for me, I may be from the very few that think that this novel can still drag on (in the good way) more than just the next one, but hell I just pray for a good ending with CLOSURE, damn that's so hard to find these days endings are either too vague, too sad, too weird or simply doesnt show what happened to the characters after all their shenanigans in the story (and Im talkin about more than one paragraph in half-page epilogue ó_ó). Ill pray.
By the way anyone knows when the next comes out?, I dont even really know when the last one came out...

it seems like everyone is thinking the same along the same lines with how the novel has progressed and i am all for the continuation of FMP but i just want this story arc to finish. i also think that if Gatoh is going to take this long to realease a novel again he should just wrap up the storyline in the next novel and probaly signal the end to FMP. this scenario would kill me but i want my last novel and a new series already!

ive got a few ideas cooked up.
Well there can still be an alternative ending for the Animation. If so, when gatou fucks up the novels there is still a chance that he will do better with the animation since he altered the second raid as well. By now, the novels are pretty fucked. All the story went insane so if there isn't a fckin awesome ending he should really think about rework most of the content for the animation! Only my thoughts.

Well, the thing with happy endings, they can become pretty crappy, cause usually is defeated the bad guy, and like one minute of what happens year after, babies or shit like that, and that aint enough for me xD. I want real thing with development of what happens after big bad dies, not just , as I said, half-page epilogue ó_ó.
It really seems Im the only one that doesnt want the story to finish :heh: I dont know I agree that the big bad (so to speak) of this arc must finish in the next novel (the arc itself must finish the next novel) and not "oh no leonard escaped with kaname again at the last second in a boat now to argentina". But the story still has for more adventures, how to destroy all of the bad guys of amalgam, maybe even a crazier guy than leonard or something like that :heh:.
On a side note that I hope doesnt start discussion: yeah bleach aint good anymore, but excepting fillers, naruto is better now than before :D
EDIT: Just noticed in a chinese raw page where volume 11 of sigma is, that the last chapter covered kurz's death. I dont get it there isnt any news of the next novel coming out but there is next volume of sigma (9 nov) so then what is gonna be in that volume? epilogue is short as hell, so what's gonna cover if there is no novel yet?

ha ha! i've been following this thread for months, but i finally had to join when i saw my mot up there. (incidentally, it's my favorite. i'm glad somebody appreciates it.)
my, my... where to start?
i think Kurz has a decent chance of being brought back in the next novel (it would certainly be a stretch, but remember Gauron?). Most of what makes me think that is the fact that they mentioned how soon he would've needed to be rescued. They did the same to Hunter who inexplicably survived.
i'm blithely hopeful that Sousuke and Kaname will get their happy ending on the basis that i have read too damn many fanfics and doujins since the last novel finished for my hopes to be dashed so cruelly. those two WILL end up together or i WILL put a incendiary device through Gatou's window (i've entirely too much time and emotional attachment invested in this series to let such a thing go).
ah... Leonard. the bastard. i am perfectly fine with him dying, but he might not (in which case he will be rendered harmless anyway). He probably will die by Sousuke, but i don't really care enough to form theories.

Regarding Kurz... hopes he's dead. Give the others a sense of responsability. He knew what would happen if he was not able to locate the enemy. He choose stay and help Tessa and Sousuke, that was really noble.
Gatou... fooling around, making other novels, playing with our emotions... I agree with you, Killersaint. If you need help burning Gatou's house to the ground just let me know. Ah, I think I saw you in others FMP forums.

I think, considering how well they did the ranchy parts of that weirdo from Amalgam screwballing himself to kittens, without REALLY showing anything....
and the famouse spa Fumoffu episode, really well censored yet it was still kinky..
I think that part will have a similar feel. You wont see any X-rated scenes but theres alot of kinky ineundos..
kinda like how Sousuke discovered Chidori's bra, which was really intimate and his breaths..-blush- ....
Or the shower scene with Tessa in the OVA, truely a fan-service...
A really good director, can make a simple scene look really hot..

Who knows...
All I know is, Gatou hasn't let me down in his work. He didnt let the manga stray not even more then 2 inches. I think only those twin-villians and minor things were switched but other then that ...not alot.
According to the film book I have, Gatou worked very closely with the manga artists and the anime for input.
( who knows, maybe the reason he hasnt finished his book is because he's HELPING so much with the manga Sigma, poor guy cant do both at once, and hes done a amazing job with them. Not a single thing out of stray, or dragged on. Perfect timing, good art, and lots of realistic backgrounds..)
It's not like Inuyasha where the manga goes one way and the anime another...
Yes the novels have been streched out alot,..but somehow i get the feeling that the anime will be most indefinately be better.
All these novels can easily be just meer episodes,...
I can't see more then 3 episodes in Namsak ...
I mean, One Night Stand was just 2 episodes right? The Behemoth.
Once Gatou does his finishing touch, its gonna be a kick ass anime season.

lol I think I've got most all the Full Metal Pink stuff I'm pretty sure...but I think they're on a CD somewhere. On my PC I've got Full Metal Pink V, Full Otaku Panic, Furu Sasayaki, Gyokusai Kakugo 5 (eng), Hajimari no Sasayaki (eng), Whisper, Full Su and Harsuratsu. I'm not sure if those are the legitimate names, but that's what they were listed as when I dled them.
I collect like anything FMP >_>; I'm such a fangirl :blush:
But I have to give Gatou the benefit of the doubt in that he'll give us a good ending...and think, if this many US and EU fans are upset....I wonder how many JP fans would kill him if he delivered a bad ending >_>;

I do also believe that Kurz is actually dead. For real. I don't know if he actually is because I am awaiting the next novel.... :frustrated:
But anyway, I guess we will see sometime in the future. You never know, anything is possible, I remember in the first season of FMP, where Kurz should of died, and it is unclear how he survived (think it was around episode 6).
I'll hope for the best, and I want to read the next novel :(

In all honesty, I don't want FMP to turn into a hentai, I feel the kinds of things attached to one would kind of kill all the mood of the series that has built up since the beginning. That doesn't mean I'm not in favor of some hinting in canon (similarly to Kurz and Mao, how we know it happens) and seeing it play out in the fandom. I very much enjoy the doujinshi and goodfic out there. I agree, some of it gets far too graphic, but there are some beautiful ones that don't go overboard. And then, of course, fic~ Which is at least somewhere that I can contribute as well... *peers around innocently*
And Selily, in an earlier post, you mentioned some stuff in the fandom about their reunion? I don't believe I've seen these, if you know where you've gotten them, would you mind sharing with me? *^_^*

I've started translating the sleepover comic, should have it done soon since it's halfway done now. ^^ I'm just having some trouble reading some of the characters since the scan is so small and it's 3am, hah. Once it's done I'll have my typesetter get to work then I'll post it on my translation journal~

B-movie??? If this is B-movie material, I would really like to see how's A-movie material, because FMP novels are some of the best things I've ever read... even if they are very SF at times...

BTW, has anyone seen the 11th RAW volume of SIGMA? I've been searching for it desperately, but no luck. And it must be scanned, because the Chinese version is already online.

I haven't seen the 11 raws anywhere yet. When 12 comes out next week I'm buying both 11 and 12 (and also all of the short story novels that I don't already own...). I'll try to scan it, but I'm not going to make any promises, simply because it's time consuming and I refuse to rip my books apart to make it easier and prettier...
However! The main reason I'm buying 12 is because I don't know if it's going to cover side stories/DVMC or OMGNEWCONTENT since there's no way it's NOT finishing up NoT like halfway through based on what I've seen of 11 from the Chinese scans. If there's new stuff I'll definitely scan that! Since I'm going to give it roughly a week to ship, give me about 2 weeks from today to make any mention on whether or not there's new content. ^^

Gatoh deliberately set out to write the FMP! novels as "B-movie" material, so cliche would be in line with that.
I wouldn't say so much as a "B-title" work for FMP. I can't necessarily classify any anime/novel as "B-title" really. Different things intrigue different people. I don't necessarily think that it is so much cliche if Kurz survives, as it would be redundant. If he were to do this, hell, why doesn't everyone just live? (except Leonard. he must die!)

What does Leonard do? FORCES A KISS ON HER.
Kaname's feelings on the matter have been established. It's only natural to hate a man who's done such a thing. Not to mention the smug behavior, the way he thinks of human lives as toys, the manipulative mind games, the way he thinks of anyone that isn't a Whispered as practically their servants and how they should be GRATEFUL to be able to SERVE them oh the poor mentally under-developed fools...
He's a sociopath, the rules don't apply to him, only to everyone else. (Making Kaname scared of Sousuke because Sousuke's killed more people? Never mind that a kill count is a kill count!)
Simply put, the man needs to die a horribly gruesome death. Reform is not an option. Leonard accept that he loses and leave Sousuke and Kaname alone? Are we talking about the same character? He's a guy that thinks he truly loves Kaname and yet he treats her in such a manner, he thinks that she could love him back... even after being treated in such a manner! Somehow he misses her soul-dead behavior because he's just oh-so-awesome and she'll totally fall for him. Or maybe she has and that's why she's upset, perhaps she thinks of herself as some kind of harlot for having fallen in love with two men!? But now she has realized her folly in having cared for a barbarian, perhaps she is trying to atone?!

Yeah. They really don't appear as much in the novel as in the anime as well. They added a few more scenes of them in the anime, like the shower scene. I'm glad they were changed to girls because two guys touching each other in the shower..... /fail for marketing.

They were brought out much better in the anime too. I thought they were kind of lame when I read the novel, pretty flat assassin characters, but they were given more personality and action in the animation.
