Meh, I never really understood the entertainment value of the Shakagan no Shana-tan episodes at all so it's the same feeling for me for these specials of Index.

However, out of curiosity the scene where 3 questions were asked about Kanzaki's seiyu aka Itou Shizuka. Is it true she got ridiculously drunk at a party? :heh:

First there's the self-referencing jokes about this title having the same publisher and anime studio, and Touma telling her to stop imitating Shana-tan.

And then, I lol'ed and went WTF at seeing Toradora's tiger in the OP spoof.

Poor Kanzaki, at being asked such private questions, no wonder she's so damn pissed. Wonder if the 3rd question actually refers to whether Itou Shizuka (Kanzaki's seiyuu) really did get pissed drunk in the launch party for the series? :D And since it's normally Itou Shizuka's character Wilhelmina hiding behind that "stalker pole" in Shana-tan, this time it's her partner Stiyl.

Another LOL at Pierce trying to get Kanzaki to pun her Nanasen attack with 7000yen (Nanasen-en), and then finally incurring her wrath. :heh:

Oh, and there's Biri-biri looking absolutely adorable in her "conserve energy" messages. :love: :love:

I didn't like the cross-over jokes, in fact the Tiger one made me think of Taiga from Fate/stay night rather than that other show.

The Index-related jokes were pretty good, though. Both Kanzaki jokes were nice, as was the "main character" jab which I felt might be parodied at one point. The Misaka inserts were good as well, we should all conserve electrical power!

I was like LOL when i heard her say that. I didn't expect a Malay word in an Japanese anime (except if the anime was dubbed in malay).

But unfortunately the anime slightly irked me because even though they explain what Nasi Goreng is, they got it wrong.

Nasi Goreng is not an Indonesian Fried Rice, It's Malay & Indonesian Fried Rice.:frustrated:

Seriously didn't the studio had their facts checked? I bet every single Malay speaker in Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore are giving themselves a facepalm of what they just seen. I don't know what made them think it's one country's dish when it fact it a favorite cultural dish of the Malay people who reside in all four Malay speaking countries.

If they just took the info from wikipedia, that was just bad research but i will forgive them if because there are a lot Indonesia restaurant in Japan hence their belief it's a from that country.

I'm honestly clueless where all this J.C.Staff hate is coming from. Toradora was good. Hatsukoi was good. Hayate S2 is downright brilliant. And even Index suffered mostly from the original novels, and it was awesome in the technical execution.

In my book, J.C.Staff is currently in my top tier of studios when it comes to making proper conversions.

Index suffered in the novels too, but the anime did some rather meaningless/bad changes, like adding Index's appearance time only to remove Kanzaki's past, changing the last scene with Hyouka to the top of some building (that was hilariously dangerous), and completely ignoring two sub-boss like characters.. Though compared to the above two shows, it's nothing...

Personally never read any of the source material on Zero, this or shana so my opinions are based squarely on something being enjoyable in its own right not how true to the material or whatever reason people come up with to dislike something. ;)

But like S_B said I don't necessarily hate everything J.C. makes Mentar ,and I apologize if it came off like that, as I like all the ones you listed, but you have to admit that you listed as good examples aren't in the same genre as what I presume railgun is going to be.

That falls more into the category of ToAru and Shana (S1 was fine S2 was...) which makes me worried more then anything...

Best way I can phrase it is I'm enjoying Aoi Hana and look forward to more, but if you asked me about something J.C. was making in the action genre I'd get alittle more weary. :p

I don't think I can agree with that. Zero no Tsukaima 2 was pretty good overall, I liked it alot. ZnT3 was indeed a bit lackluster, but I suspect that alot of the blame had to be put on the source. And I had no complaints about Shana S2, with the exception of 1-2 eps at the beginning.

But like S_B said I don't necessarily hate everything J.C. makes Mentar ,and I apologize if it came off like that, as I like all the ones you listed, but you have to admit that you listed as good examples aren't in the same genre as what I presume railgun is going to be.

Railgun will primarily be action comedy. I have no real worries there. And don't worry, what you said was quite mild, nothing to object. I do disagree with a surprising number of people though when it comes to J.C.Staff conversions. Guess I do like their style (particularly, their animation style) alot.

Naah. If they manage to come up with a conversion in their latest quality like Hayate S2 or Hatsukoi, I expect Railgun to be very popular. It's MUCH better than Index, at least.

From my perspective, it's mostly a gross generalization stemming from how a couple hot properties turned out (which wasn't all the studio's fault anyway). On boards like these, there are far more viewers of fan fodder like Shana/Tsukaima than the other shows.

For what it's worth, the studio must have a stellar industry reputation to keep working on IPs like Index, Toradora!, Nodame Cantabile, and Hayate.

Yeah, I felt there were plenty of issues with the script and pacing. However, the series was phenomenal in terms of animation, character marketing (one of J.C. Staff's strongest points, IMO), and overall direction. I don't think Shana even comes close.

I don't have that much to complain when it comes to J.C staff I like their works.. well mostly
due to animation which I think their are the best. But when it comes to the story part. They
either screw up or did a phenomenal job. I don't know on which to blame. Blame the source or

I could not play that video because of sony music entertainment laws and unreasonable prohibition of playing those videos in my country, so i downloaded it from somewhere else, but i could not connect the words from that song and the words Saten was singing. Originally i thought it was some German/Japanese mix.

Well Saten seiyuu - Kanae ITŌ can sing pretty well in japanese, there are several songs made by her, though they don't have that special "saten" accent as they were made for other animes/occasions

my favorite part for the index-tans before are the kanzaki ones and accelerators ones.

if you want to go into the railgun mmrs, I would say the scenes with Uiharu, Saten, and Kuroko are my favorites.
