They're novelizations correct? Does anyone know how much they stick to the original storytelling and language? What else do they have? If you could show me some place to have a look inside or some listing of features I'd be delighted. Same questions for the Higurashi versions!

But really, I haven't heard of any yet. I think EP8 will have the same (amazing and ending fitting) opening as EP7, so no CD is that department, probably. Well the next Motion Graphic is usually released at the same time with a new Episode. :)

The "Umineko no Naku Koro ni Tsubasa - Koremade no Okurimono, Zenbu. Tsumeawase (The Gifts Up to Now, All of Them. Collection)" item is actually a sound novel collection of all the TIPs! (which might be why the fanmade ones were being pulled down on youtube - Ryuukishi was making his own! or, possible music copyrights, etc, but.)

I'm personally really excited for that~ :D

With the release of Umineko EP 8, I decided to import the disk of the game from Japan, but I didn't preorder as I didn't have the money at the time. Well, I have the money and was thinking of buying EP 8 as well as Umineko Tsubasa if I had the money. However, I go on my usual import site, Himeya, and notice that all the Umineko materials are out of stock. I check around the internet and notice that, except for amazon japan and ebay, nary a importer keeps stock of the game. So I was wondering: do any of you know a site where the game could be imported, beside amazon japan (where I don't know if I can buy it with American currency) and ebay (where both games are $98 a throw, and too expensive)? Or, will availability increase in the wake of Comiket?

I saw the whole video, but don't remember where that shelf was from (I guess it was from Ryukishi's house? / 07th Expansion base?). As you can see, there's a Natsuhi, Gaap (or is it Beelzebub?) and half a Beato figure visible! I've been longing for a Beatrice figure where I neither like the deformed ones. I haven't bought any figures before anyway. Seems like the doll's dress or something similar is also visible on the other shelf. Maybe these will be future products like the Beatrice doll? Natsuhi looks kinda dull for now at least (probably not final if it comes to pass), but I can't wait to see that Beatrice figure. But other than that I haven't found any other 'realistic' figures than Maria, Shannon and Jessica, and only Jessica in Finland (no offence meant towards Jessie). :(

I saw a Beato figure in a WF thread but I have no idea if it was a GK or not. It was really detailed to, now I'm kicking my self for not saving the image.

We can always hope for more figures but in less they release more tie in stuff like with all the stuff you could get with the PS3 port I highly doubt it. I'm good with my two Jessica figures though, I'd love the Battler chibi one but I'm not shelling out $30 for it.

I'm betting those figures are GKs. Meaning only a few were made and sold in small groups. If you're looking for a GK figure, I know there's a set of the Stakes and the Siestas out that are pose-able. But good luck trying to track them down, I've been looking all over e-bay and other sites and can't find a lead on where to buy them.

After looking at the price of the Beato doll, I though I`d try to buy the parts and make my own *sarcasm mode* Because its normally cheaper to by the seprate parts and put it together myself*end sarcasm mode* well in my currency it costs half the price of both coustems Beatrice just to get a headless body, and then I`d have to get a head and eyes and stuff....Its just cheapper to get the doll probley.

taobao is in yuan, so you can look up "yuan to dollar" (or whatever you want to convert it to) on google. When I've ordered from there, I used taobaospree. :) There are a lot of shopping services though, so just look up reviews.
From what I could tell, it doesn't seem to be an auction exactly.. More of just a shop. Here are some of the dollfies:

It's a sort of published idea of a solution by a reader of Umineko, though this one is in contact with Ryûkishi. I agree with some of his ideas, some are quite brilliant and he really goes indepth with the analysis...though I do not completely agree with his solution to EP3. But it's actually one of the few analysis' which incorporates everything into the equation.
There are some great illustrations in there, too. But the most important thing for me is a 30page interview with Ryûkishi, where he talks about his general idea of what Umineko is about, reveals some of the tricks, talks about the definition of mystery, locked rooms and the murders in general.

EDIT: Because the scanners wouldn't work and I didn't want to take my book apart I did it now.

Most things are actually legit. It's cheaper in general because Yuan is weaker than the US dollar, making it look cheaper for us when it's probably kind of costly over there still? And the catch is that you have to use a shopping service and pay for shipping by weight, since you don't live there..

Looks like "Our Confession" contains memorabilia from the true culprit (真犯人) of Umineko and reveals the tricks behind the seemingly impossible murders. It seems to have over 30000 characters written. How many pages does that approximately make? What was written under the image of the cover said 「真犯人」が、全てを明かす。"The true culprit reveals everything." This might just be what we've been waiting for!

I was hoping that Tsubasa 2 would collect the new and old TIPS to a tall case, but seems like we got another title. I wonder if this is just some kind of "newest updates" and we're getting a bigger set later. I shouldn't complain though, this is all amazing news.

I wonder when the pre-orders are opening. I got the impression that you only get Hane and Warera no Kokuhaku when you pre-order Higanbana 2 and OMK CROSS together (this might also suggest yet another TIPS collection coming), and I definitely don't want to miss that, even if they're going to be collected somewhere later. They also have a C81-set, which includes a paper bag by Natsumi Kei (Umineko EP1 and 3 excellent mangaka, should you not know). I hope that set comes available to pre-order outside Japan, but it seems to be sold at the Comiket booth only (indeed, East 44a is the location of 07th Expansion's booth there).

That's what I fear. The other tips didn't get released outside comiket, did they? Let's hope they'll make an exception for this one that seems pretty important. I'd gladly order both Higanbana 2 and Musou Kyoku Cross (was planning to get them anyway) if they included Hane and Kokuhaku along the way.I'm pretty sure a set with Hane and Warera no Kokuhaku will be available, I'm just not sure about if we're able to get Tenshi 17-sai and the Natsumi Kei paperbag. :D

At least that person should know of the murder tricks, so it fits with the description. Whatever the content is, it should prove to be useful to the discussion.

Anyways, at Comiket, there's an East (東) hall and a West (西) hall. East hall consists of 6 seperate halls, although halls 1-3 and 4-6 are joined.

The entire convention is set up into aisles with a row of tables forming them. All the aisles are numbered from A-Z + all the hiragana + all the katakana. And then each table in each aisle is assigned a number and a letter as there are two sellers per table. (A and B)

Basically his booth is East hall, Row (katakana) SHI, booth 44-a.

However, SHI (katakana) seems to be reserved for the booths lining the outside wall. And of course, the outside wall groups (or kabe circles) are usually big name groups, like ZUN or supercell. And, of course, 07th Expansion is big enough for him to be assigned to the wall booths. It helps for managing the long lineups that will form in front. (Those lineups will probably be directed to flow out of the building into the hot, baking, dehydrating, hot, hot sun. Or freezing cold for Winter! Yay.)


Wall circles are 'fun' to line up for sometimes. I know 07th Expansion's lines are rather long. Nothing like the major, major lineups, but still enough to suck a large chunk of your buying time.

It is for this reason that I think there will be store pre-orders. Last time when we were buying EP5 and EP7, we just pre-ordered it from a game store in Akiba instead. Since we would be stuck in Comiket, it's not like we could play it 'early' anyways, so picking it up after Comiket at 4PM was about the same. Hopefully the store will have the Confessions booklet too as the bonus item. That's the most important part. 8)

If I remember correctly he had the same booth when I went there in 2009 and he seems to have had the same one for the following ones as well...so I think he didn't actually have to "wait for the Comiket to assign it to him". After the success of Higurashi they're probably happy to have him.

They have 2 Comikets every year, so after 81 one of them.. they're pretty smart at organization. I heard they can move like 18,000 people every hour in and out of the convention hall or something. Unlike some of the other conventions, a long line-up at Comiket (i.e. one that goes around the block and over several of those islands; basically 2-3 km long) still only takes you just over an hour to actually get in. 8)

Anyways, that's a pretty good guess on the topic of the booklet. 8) I'd like to read it but I'm not sure I can make it to Comike this year... hm. (Since the 17-year old Angel booklet is Comiket only it seems.) I hope someone would post it...

I'm gonna say on purpose (mainly on the bias that I don't believe in coincidences) because if you think about it, Eva did train/raise Ange so I guess the Evatrice outfit did had some sorta influence on the Angetrice outfit.

Unless you can understand and read Japanese, don't bother opening the packaging if you don't want to ruin it. It's all in Japanese. There are scans of the pages somewhere if you really want to see what's inside.

There's a small postscript at the end where Ryu talks to the reader, thanking them for buying Hane and wishing them a Happy New Year. He also talks about his next work, although I'm not good enough at reading Japanese to know exactly what he said about it.

Eriko: Our Confessions was a booklet that was released this last December at Comiket 81. In it, is a 'unfinished tale by Beatrice released by Dlanor after the events of EP8.' It basically illustrates how Beatrice goes about setting up the game board/writes the mystery for an episode. So it contains her thoughts on both the mystery and fantasy of an episode.

By now though, we would recognize many of the elements from other episodes so this is mostly an answer for us regarding how things were done in each episode 1-6.

Flauros is supposedly yet *another* demon that she summons in Confessions to do all the killing for her.

Say, was it confirmed that the Our Confessions book is 100% complete with all text missing from the prior scans and Umineco.wiki? That we aren't seeing some sort of trick release after all? I'm dying to know what the missing parts from the prior synopses on the spoiler thread were, if they've been posted somewhere and I've missed it? I have some dangling suspicions about the (thus far) omitted portions.

Yeah, I didn't read everything on umineco as I was just matching up the omissions with the paragraphs in the book, but though there were some chunks missing, they didn't seem to be anything of great importance. I think all the bold text was included at umineco except for two or three paragraphs of it.

I took pictures for Lyrical and he verified that most of his previous summary captures everything. I didn't want to post it online as it would be kind of like giving away the whole thing for free.

They're both collected in Umineko Tsubasa in sound novel form. So nothing shady about them.

Well, if this is your biggest worry, downloading the game from Witch-Hunt is essentially the same. 07thExpansion will still get the money, even if you don't get a disc.

It's a sticker for an iPhone, or other such device. I'm just keeping mine sealed since I neither own an iPhone, and it's very pretty. And Mandarake is actually an awesome source for Umineko stuff, and I think it's cheaper than amiami.

What a surprise to hear that Umineko's anime has been licensed outside Japan for an English release! As one of the few people who really liked the anime despite its flaws, I felt quite enthusiastic about the news...until I noticed that it will only be coming out on Blu-ray and apparently will not be on DVD. :(

I hear that both of the sets will be deluxe and come with hardcover art books. Those should be very nice, but even so it will be too hard for me to justify buying a useless and expensive Blu-ray set just to get them. I'm curious about what the art books will have in them.

Now, NIS America, the company releasing it, is apparently a subsidiary of a Japanese games company. It's a long shot, but I wonder if there's a chance they might bring over the PS3-graphics and voice acted edition of the visual novels? I would very much like to own that. Wishful thinking, I'm sure.

I think the only part that's been announced is that they're releasing it on blue ray. I don't think it's been said if it will be dubbed or not yet.

No the anime will not be dubbed. NISA does not dub anime because they don't have enough money yet as they are just starting out in the anime localizing business.

It's not really that bad. The Madoka Magica Blurays cost 75$ each, and come in 3 volumes (75x3). The DVDs sell for about 30$, though.
