Probably my favorite manga ever.

I finally own the entirety of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. 5th volume arrived on the weekend in a large box of things dating to almost a year ago. While there's still 14 titles I'm getting, the releases are getting infrequent or most titles are near the end. Although I did find one this week called Kirei ni Shitemoraemasuka and it's working for me so far.

Well, 100% subjective of course. In my head somewhere around 2K or earlier but if someone is in their teens or 20's...

So how far back do you think one would have to go for anime to be considered retro? My states main anime convention claimed Death Note and Code Geass were now considered retro. That...felt premature for me. 90s and before, sure, but the 00s, especiislly the latter part, feels extreme to be called retro. Or is the recency bias/fear of the past at an all-time high.

Just finished getting through two manga I've been reading the last couple of nights.
The Summer You Were There and Throw Away The Suit Together.
The first one would be in my top 15 manga of all time. The second one would probably make my top 50.

Probably about average on the whole. Yatagarasu is great, Black Butler was as good as expected, and The Fable has stepped it up nicely. A few other decent shows like Tonari Youkai and Sentai Daishikaku.

All the films were worth it but particularly My Broken Mariko.

Got a bit late onto the Japanese Film Festival Online but got started tonight. Just finished watching Anime Supremacy. Quite an endearing film about the production side of anime and the pseudo-battle between a rookie female director and the prodigy male director that inspired her to become one.
Going to look at Kimba the White Lion, My Broken Mariko, I am what I am and The Zen Diary on the final night. Event is open for another 34 hours. Free to view.
