Hey LS... I just realized that I didn't answer your previous post. I know it's been awhile, but I apologize for that. I didn't mean to ignore you... just spaced it out, I guess.

As far as ISML is concerned, other than seeing the thread constantly rise to the top of the forum, I don't even think about it anymore.

I have been shamefully lax in keeping up with my anime viewing lately. It's not that I no longer care about anime, but, I get in these moods where I lose interest in just about everything. I have watched a couple episodes of Arakawa Under the Bridge and Angel Beats. I have downloaded all of the current episodes and do plan to eventually watch them.

I also watched the first two episodes of Kiss x Sis, simply out of curiosity. The two sisters are insanely cute, but the second episode left me feeling like I needed to take a cold shower.

Figures? I recently posted some pics of Canaan in the figures thread.

Other than that, my To Heart collection is coming along nicely:

I think I know now how you felt last year after you spoke out against that ISML incident postseason. I've felt it in another thread.

    Any decent purchases/anime watching lately?

Heya LS, I finally got around to diving into Hanamaru. Up to episode four, now. I can't say I'm all that impressed with it. It's cute and all, but I'm having a hard time getting into the little kids. I mean, yes, anime has the convention of children acting beyond their years, but this is stretching it a little too far. Anzu annoys me at times.

The main thing keeping me interested is Nanako. Her seiyuu is Erino Hazuki who also did Akari Mizunashi in ARIA, who's one of my all time favorite characters. Every now and then I hear Akari in Nanaka and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I'm sticking with this just to see what kind of development Nana-chan gets.

I think the characters themselves know that people don't take them too seriously, as Kureha's snapping in Episode 2 showed. But they're passionate. It was mainly the art and music that drew me in to start with but once Rio's firm but caring sempai style and Noel's quiet, soothing yet genius ways came to the forefront, it began to lift for me. Episode 5 throwing the dynamics of three different personalities into doing that task was hilarious. I do need to catch up on anime, busy weekend.

Happen to see any of Hanamaru Kindergarten?

Yeah, I am liking Sora no Woto... quite a bit, in fact. The girls are really starting to grow on me. Thanks for nudging me in that direction. Episode 7 was excellent, I watched it twice. It's definitely the most serious and dramatic episode so far. With her gentle demeanor (and the seemingly mundane nature of their outpost), I never expected Filicia to be a combat veteran.

Puts you ahead of me on that series now. ^^ I'll watch 7 once I'm sure I'm not in danger of going over my internet quota before the end of the 21st. If you've watched that far, I take it you like it.

I don't find your age deterring. One of my best anime friends is in his 40s, so you being in your early 50s doesn't bother me. Plus I work around loads of epople in their 30s-40s. Age doesn't bother me mate. What matters to me is what one believes in and what they say/do, whether they can justify it within the realms of morality and how they treat other people. You seem to score well on those counts.

Well, the whole "despair" thing is kind of a satirical way of looking at it. Being in despair over a saimoe girl is kind of like a badge of honor. I don't consider ISML to be "toxic," it just no longer has any appeal to me. When it comes to who won what, or which girls are considered better than others, I couldn't care less anymore. It's really that simple.

As to why more people don't message me? No idea. Maybe my age. Maybe the fact that I don't get involved in very many threads (I do far more reading than writing). Or that I have a tendency to occasionally just disappear for weeks or months at a time. Thank you for your kind words, though.

Off to watch Sora no Woto 7 (see, I told ya I'd get caught up today).
