(sorry for the late response)
"Ruto, Saria, and Malon, obviously..."
. . . if you mean respectively, I only agree with the second(and only because of the fact that neither seems to age and both have a semi-obvious attraction to their respective lead protagonist)... if anything,
would be Ruto, given the fact that she's the only character in OoT who brings up marriage, plus there's the lovely fact that Link has to carry her around during one of the two parts where she's actually somewhat important. I'd say Itsuki would have to be a Goron. Not Darunia(or Darunia's son), just a Goron. Watch the scene after clearing out Dodongo's Cave again and note Link's reaction to them. "Too close," indeed.
And since this is a SHnY/OoT comparison... Taniguchi and Kunikida are
those two guys who do nothing but laugh and talk to each other(and Link, when spoken to). The Computer-whatever-President is definitely Mido(
). Kyon's sister has to be Navi. I'd say the Tamaru brothers would be Talon and Ingo, but Ingo stabbed Talon in the
, and it was more of a figurative sense than a literal one.
... I am very sorry for bringing this up again
Even taller, Shanaman would be short. Shana is really, really short. He'd be considerably taller than Shana even if he was Mitsuuru's hieght.
Shana-kun gets quite a bit taller, and perhaps Sakai-chan gets a bit shorter. The question is who wins in the height category, and if this can be played for lulz.
I kind of like the idea of Shana-kun being really short, but still really badass.
I admit that this is because I still remember how the theatre cheered upon seeing a certain very short muppet Jedi Master in action.
Shana needs a Yoda...
Kyono needs a new swimsuit design.
I think the school swimsuit is fine.
... okay, I don't really, but I was trying to channel Yuuki there.
So how would Shana-kun be classified? The wrathful hardass shota? And keeping Sakai-chan taller than Shana works. Yoshida-kun would look like Mitsuuru. I don't want to think about Hecate-kun just now.
Shana (story-wise) probably doesn't work at all genderbent. But since the character designs are similar to Haruhi, the process can remain the same for the bent versions.
What is this?!! O_O
Madness. It seems to be normal in these parts.
I'd say it is more a mix of Kyonko and Itsuko really. Kyonko is way too large there compared to about every drawing of her.
Some questions then:
- Would Genderbent Shana retain the loli/shota height?
- Should Shana badassery be converted to sheer GAR awesomeness?
- How does the ridiculously tsundere aspect of female Shana translate to male Shana?
- Yes, definitely
- That is just a must, Shana-kun will rival Kamina in GAR
- Why not, it worked for Li Syaoran in CCS
I reaaaally don't like the idea of a short Shana-kun. Somehow, I don't think it works.
Also, Shana's incredibly short height is probably due to the art style more than anything else. Let KyoAni animate the series and she'd probably look taller...
in terms of height
anime Shana > novel Shana
My opinion is KyoAni would animate Shana kinda like they did Fuko or Ayu
added 3D custom shoujo Kyonko.
Shana is what 141cm tall? Ayu is 155cm tall. Mikuru is 154cm tall. Fuko I think is 156cm tall. That's what I mean...Shana is really, really short.
A short GAR master is fine actually. Check something like
Tochiro Oyoma. Super short sword master with glasses. It still works.
I. HATE. SHOUTAS.
That is all.
And holy crap Shana is short.
How tall is Yuji supposed to be?
And since when are Ayu and Fuuko taller than Mikuru? Wow.
I was quite surprised as well...Ayu is almost the same size as Yuji I think....Yuuichi in Kanon is just a freaking giant lol
Depends on design I guess. Tochiro is no shouta. He's just short.
The Key girls have there heights listed it seems (as do the Lucky Star girls), I suppose the Haruhi girls also have their heights listed. Shana is shorter than Konata (who is 142 cm tall) where as Ayu, Mikuru, and Fuko are just a little taller than Hiyori (who is 152 cm tall). Yuuichi must be about 6 foot to 6' 2" tall to tower over 5' 1" tall Ayu. She does come up to his shoulders.
I figure Ayu looks short, (besides that she's the shortest in the cast), because of her coat. Without the coat and gloves she actually looks about normal. She just doesn't have the coat off much.
Geez, Yuuichi is huge... he's taller than Kyon is, then.
He might be 5' 10" to 5' 11" but that is still huge in Japan. (I'm basing off my own shoulders, but I'm 6' 2". From the top of my head to the top of my shoulders is 11 inches, but if he's slightly shorter the scale may work differently). Someone with more knowledge of Key works, Haruhi, and Shana, could fill in the height range better than I.
On the other hand, the only place where that art is actually suppose to be similar is between Shana and Haruhi. Switching Shana and Yuji's heights might work, but part of me wants the keep Shana-kun shorter than Yuji-chan. While he won't look impressive, he's flame haze work will speak for him. There also has to be a good physical difference between Shana-kun and his rivals for Yuji-chan's heart.
I think making Shana-kun that short would make him into somewhat of a laughing stock among the fanbase...
So what if he has a doom sword and flame haze powers? He still looks a girl.
